A Japanese ramen restaurant in Tokyo, Japan, is experimenting with two robotic-chef to cook the noodles; would be really cool if the whole restaurant's operation is automated, with robots serving the dishes as well…

Muhyiddin hanya membuka pekung Umno.
Muhyiddin bukannya memperjuangkan semangat ketulenan Melayu, beliau hanya mahu memperkuatkan 'political base'nya sahaja.
-Mohd Rashidi Hassan

The school's Choir Club organizes a singing competition every year since two years back. Ever since they had started this competition, I did go to try out for audition, first was for fun, then it's just to try my braveness and this year was to get some comment on my singing from the judges. Well, of course I did not sing well and they asked me to practice more and don't shout. Haha.
Last Saturday, the singing competition came to the final round with I don't really know how many contestants were in it but I know Liang Sun, my classmate of 4SA5 was there to sing. I went there for support and to see how's the competition was since I was so free on that day.
I missed the first few contestants and it was lower form first only then to the upper form.
Frankly speaking, the competition was not cool. There's not many people in the hall and the stage decoration was kinda ugly with lousy lighting and not-so-good sound system, it's not anything near to Leo Idol.
Liang Sun, my friend.
Anyway, hopefully it will be better next year. The entrance ticket to see this singing competition was RM4 and I would say it's expensive, they had also raised the fee for joining the competition at first from RM2 to RM3. A good way to raise fund for club. Hehe.
There's 3 judges who I don't really know about them. They gave comment after a few contestants had done their singing. Well, I didn't really listen to what the judges said, I was there like talking to my friends and waiting for my friend, Liang Sun to come on stage.
Lek Jian of my form's.
He's real good.
Some were really good and some were so-so only. I don't really want to judge people's singing because I admit that I am pretty bad in singing, but I do love singing a lot! Hehe.
After all the contestants have came out, there's a voting session which was needed to pick the "Most Favourite Contestant Award". We took a lot of the tickets from one of the Choir Club member and filled it up with Liang Sun's number but then somehow there's a Form 6 guy got a higher vote than him. Ah, sad.
There's a few performances which were quite not interesting. A Form 6 guy who joined the Teen Idol outside came to make some polling for himself. Since he is a Chung Ling person, I should help him do a little bit of advertising here (SMS T1<space>M14, SEND TO 36611). Just supporting a Chung Ling boy, I did not send the text (yet) by the way.
It then went on with a prize giving ceremony, none of the Form 5s and 4s got the first, second or third, it's just consulation prize for them. Sigh. One thing I don't like was that the MC for the event where from the 6th Form and they only introduces the Form 6 contestants on stage. My god, it's over now.

No whining for me...I am still grateful that everything turned out okay last night. I honestly thought that the NCWO dinner was at the SD Convention Centre. Yes it was originally planned to be held on the 14th there. When the date was changed so was the venue..I was so careless not to checked that part.
Fortunately, Kay Leeda was around. She helped sent our Kuantan ladies and I to the Perdana Grand Ballroom. She was our saviour for the night. We arrived about 10 mins after Dato' Seri Najib and Datin Seri came. Her Majesty The Raja Permaisuri Agung did not come for the night.
And the whole function turned out beautifully. The PM and his wife looked so relaxed and seemed to be enjoying every moment of the Hari Wanita ke-47 celebration.
Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor was also conferred the Pingat Emas Tun Fatimah..her endless hard efforts to help so many unfortunate kids by setting up the Pusat Permata Negara did not go unnoticed. Her various social contributions were endless. She never gets tired of helping others. She is still ferociously drumming loads of support for the poor and the needy.
A choir belted out the 1 Malaysia song and there came also the Tarian Perpaduan.
After the PM and his wife left the ballroom with some of the lady ministers and the very high-ranking NCWO officials, the rest of us were treated to a very lively and exciting poco-poco performance by the ever-sporting group of poco2 dance lovers..the favourite line-dancing never ceased to amazed me!
I will post some pictures tomorrow..I snapped so many lovely ones..thank you Kay for bringing 'Cinderella' to the ball!!

KUALA LUMPUR: A witness told the High Court here that he was not sure if during a media conference, DAP chairman Karpal Singh had actually uttered the words that a Ruler could be sued for his role in removing a mentri besar from office.
Utusan Malaysia reporter Mohd Nizam Mohamad Yatim, 38, who took the witness stand on the first day of Karpal's sedition trial, said this during cross-examination by lead defence counsel Jagdeep Singh Deo.
"After the press statement was read by Karpal Singh, there was an answer and question session. A reporter asked if 'legal action' included suing the Sultan, and Karpal Singh said 'yes'," said Mohd Nizam when relating the events at the media conference.
When asked who the reporter was, Mohd Nizam replied he was "not sure."
When Jagdeep pointed out that it was that reporter who asked Karpal to sue the Sultan of Perak, Mohd Nizam replied that the reporter was just asking for a clarification.
Jagdeep: "So it does not say that Karpal Singh had said he would sue the Sultan of Perak?"
Mohd Nizam: "I am not sure."
Karpal is alleged to have uttered seditious words during a media conference relating to the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah's consent to remove Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as mentri besar.
He allegedly committed the offence at his law firm Messrs Karpal Singh & Co between noon and 12.30pm on Feb 6. He is charged under Section 4 (1) (b) of the Sedition Act 1948.
During the trial, Jagdeep grilled Mohd Nizam and even raised his voice, causing DPP Datuk Kamaluddin Md Said to interject and remind the defence counsel not to shout at the witness.
At one point, Mohd Nizam drew incredulous laughter when he said that he did not know what Karpal was being charged with.
Jagdeep accused Mohd Nizam of being "insincere" when the witness said he "only reports what was said" and does not give opinions in his article.
Mohd Nizam said he wrote two stories based on the press statement and the media conference, but only one of his stories was published on Feb 7. The second article about whether a Ruler can be sued was picked up by Bernama, the national news agency.
Jagdeep asked Mohd Nizam to read the press statement, which was in English, and explain to the court the meaning of it in Bahasa Malaysia.
Jagdeep: "Does the term 'ultra vires' mean 'to insult'? Is that correct?"
Mohd Nizam: "Correct. That is what I understand. But I did not use it in my story."
Jagdeep: "Do you know that your understanding of the term is wrong? Do you realise that your article caused a lot of chaos?"
Mohd Nizam: "That is not my article. It is Bernama's article."
When questioned by Jagdeep if the press statement was about constitutional issues, Mohd Nizam answered yes.
"So you would agree that Karpal Singh's statement does not in anyway seem a threat or intimidation of the Sultan of Perak?" Jagdeep said.
"I agree," said Mohd Nizam.
Jagdeep summarised that based on the testimony of the witness, the statement by the accused was only a firm reminder to the Sultan of Perak to act within the parameters of the Constitution.
The trial was adjourned to Thursday afternoon because the next witness, an RTM reporter, failed to turn up in court.

KUALA LUMPUR: The police will soon be calling up DAP Youth chief Loke Siew Fook and Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi to have their statements recorded regarding allegations they had insulted Islam.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said police would record their statements before making any recommendation to the Attorney-General, who will then decide whether to charge them in court.
"The alleged actions are punishable under the Sedition Act or Section 298 of the Penal Code for insulting religions," he said after handing over a donation to the Gaza children's humanitarian fund in Bukit Aman on Wednesday.
Also present were former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his wife Tun Jeanne Abdullah who accepted a cheque for RM97,156.55 to help the victims.
Loke had allegedly hit out at freelance religious speaker Dr Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and called him a racist for the latter's statement on the status of the unborn child of political aide Teoh Beng Hock, who died after a fall last month.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak later directed police to investigate comments that purportedly appeared on Loke's blog that allegedly insulted Islam as well as the Sultan of Perak.
Loke, also the Member of Parliament for Rasah, has strongly denied the allegation and said he did not know of the existence of the blog and was not aware of who was behind it. He lodged a police report about the matter at the Dang Wangi police station on Monday.
Ooi had made a statement which purportedly linked the Jemaah Islah Malaysia (JIM) movement to religious extremists for wanting to promote Syariah laws.
He later retracted the statement.
Musa said the investigations on Ooi would be handled by Penang police while those on Loke would be investigated by the Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes Department.

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk M. Kayveas is the valid People's Progressive Party (PPP) president while sacked youth chief Datuk T. Murugiah's appointment as president at a May 24 emergency general meeting (EGM) is invalid, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) has decided.
Murugiah's sacking has also been found to be have been conducted according to provisions in the party constitution and is therefore deemed valid.
However, the PPP will be issued a notice by the ROS asking it to explain why certain aspects of the running of the party had failed to follow procedures outlined in its constitution.
Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation can result in action that includes the deregistration of the party, the ROS warned.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said he had personally spoken to Kayveas and Murugiah on Monday and Tuesday respectively to inform them of the decision and they had both accepted the decision.
He said the ROS had been thorough and transparent in conducting its investigations and had even checked its findings with the Home Ministry legal advisor, so there was no reason to doubt if the decision was the correct one.
"Murugiah can still appeal against the decision but what is more important is the status of the party itself. They first need to answer to the notice within 30 days ... or the party's existence will come into question.
"At the end of the day what I would like is for them (Kayveas and Murugiah) to find a solution that ensures that the party and its members do not suffer," Hishammuddin said.
"This a legal solution but at the end of the day a political answer needs to be found for the personalities and leaders within the party," he told a press conference after chairing his ministry's post-cabinet meeting here on Wednesday.
He said the ROS decision would not affect Murugiah's position in the Cabinet as he had been appointed by the Prime Minister.

Two babies and a 26-week pregnant woman were among six new deaths linked to Influenza A (H1N1), bringing the total fatalities due to the disease to 44.
"Four of the cases had risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, heart problems or obesity.
"Their actual dates of death were Aug 7 (four), Aug 9 (one) and Aug 10 (one)," he told a press conference at his ministry here today.
Imam Hatim Hamidullah, with the Islamic Society of Central Florida, said the Muslim faith does not call for a father to hurt his child, should she convert to another religion. "It is not Islam for the father to bring harm upon his blood daughter or any other human being because of anger," he said. "Our position is to exhaust all measures that would bring peace and harmony back to the family," Hamidullah said. "Being angry and threatening the life of someone is not one of those methods." Check what the terrified teenager says.
This is happening in the good old US of A. These are things that only happen in Pakistan, Afghanistan or probably Malaysia under Hadi of Pas in the future.

This is an actual letter sent to the then DFAT (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) Minster, The Hon Alexander Downer and the then Immigration Minister, The Hon Amanda Vanstone. The Government tried desperately to censure the author, but got nowhere because every legal person who read it nearly wet themselves laughing! Please excuse the language contained within, but I suspect the author was somewhat upset? I'll let you decide!
Dear Mr. Minister,
I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe this. How is it that K-Mart has my address and telephone number, and knows that I bought a television set and golf clubs from them back in 1997, and yet the Federal Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date.
For Christ sakes, do you guys do this by hand? My birth date you have in my Medicare information, and it is on all the income tax forms I've filed for the past 40 years. It is also on my driver's licence, on the last eight passports I've ever had, on all those stupid customs declaration forms I've had to fill out before being allowed off the planes over the last 30 years, and all those insufferable census forms that I've filled out every 5 years since 1966. Also... would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Audrey, my father's name is John, and I'd be absolutely fucking astounded if that ever changed between now and when I drop dead!!!...
I apologize, Mr. Minister. But I'm really pissed off this morning. Between you and me, I've had enough of all this bullshit! You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my fucking address!! What the hell is going on with your mob? Have you got a gang of mindless Neanderthal arseholes working there! And another thing, look at my damn picture.. Do I look like Bin Laden? I can't even grow a beard for God's sakes. I just want to go to New Zealand and see my new granddaughter. (Yes, my son interbred with a Kiwi girl). And would someone please tell me, why would you give a shit whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? If I ever got the
urge to do something weird to a sheep or a horse, believe you me, I'd sure as hell not want to tell anyone!
Well, I have to go now, 'cause I have to go to the other end of the city, and get another fucking copy of my birth certificate, and to part with another $80 for the privilege of accessing MY OWN INFORMATION! Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot, to assist in the issuance of a new passport on the same day?? Nooooo. that'd be too fucking easy and makes far too much sense. You would much prefer to have us running all over the place like chickens with our fucking heads cut off, and then having to find some high-society wanker to confirm that it's really me in the goddamn photo! You know the photo.. the one where we're not allowed to smile?! ....you fucking morons
Signed - An Irate Australian Citizen.
P.S. Remember what I said above about the picture, and getting someone in high-society to confirm that it's me? Well, my family has been in this country since before 1850! In 1856, one of my forefathers took up arms with Peter Lalor. (You do remember the Eureka Stockade!!) I have also served in both the CMF and regular Army for something over 30 years (I went to Vietnam in 1967), and still have high security clearances. I'm also a personal friend of the president of the RSL. and Lt General Peter Cosgrove sends me a Christmas card each year. However, your rules require that I have to get someone 'important' to verify who I am; You know... someone like my doctor - WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN FUCKING PAKISTAN !!!...... a country where they either assassinate or hang their ex-Prime Ministers, and are suspended from the Commonwealth for not having the 'right sort of government'. You are all Fucking idiots!

It's into the 2nd week of school. That one year I took to have a break had made feel rather detached from the supposedly – school life.
What I have studied during my poly years and secondary school years have all returned back to my teachers and lecturers. Perhaps not much of my poly years because not much I studied back then has to do with what I am doing now. I am doing a degree of a (rather, completely) different discipline.
I met people whom I know years ago.
My tuition mate, Julian is doing a degree with RMIT in Econs and Finance, if I had remembered correctly.
This guy who came into my life and exit abruptly without giving a reason. I met him at FOD. He was a facilitator, is in the SRC. I met him again at FOB. Aint surprised, he couldn't recognize me. He had slimmed down quite a bit tho.
I met Kenedict's classmate, Christine who is also doing a degree with RMIT in Business. 2 years since she had some of the modules exempted or rather, according to what she told me: direct entry.
I met people who took the same NEL train with me. From punggol, and her friend from SengKang. They were seating right across me on the train and we were actually attending the same PSOC class!
I met Melody's friend whom was from Manjusri was also taking the same PSOC class as me too! She taking a degree in Business with UOL and is going for bridging. Therefor, she's another one going for the 2 year route.
I accompanied Vanessa to Kallang to get her floorball stick. We took a bus back to Bedok and then a train back to Pasir Ris. I met my OGL on the same train, same door at Tampines.
And then, I was on 3, texting Nic that I am on my way home. The bus was pretty crowded and my bag was relatively big, carrying books and food, I decided to sit down and not obstruct the "path" with the bulky items I was carrying. It was only until the MJC, I notice someone familiar.
He was the first guy I talked to on net. He was my first boyfriend. Throughout the 13 months relationship, we only held hands, which till date, I find it unbelievable. HAHA. And he was just staying across me. We were separated just by the TPE, just across the flyover, barely a bus stop away. Oh well, and yup, he has fatten up a bit since he has already ORD-ed a year ago. I message him in FB, to my surprise he replied pretty quickly to say "good job for spotting me. since i had fatten up quite a bit!" LOL!
Sometimes I am pretty amazed with myself with such ability to remember people and the little details about my ex-es. I can remember when was it, how it happened, why it happened, who was involved etc but I do have some problem remembering my parents birthday and some of my besties birthdays! I have photogenic memory.
Sometimes when I go out, like on the LRT, I will recognise some ppl I see and take note where they will do or where they are heading etc. It has happened sometimes, I go tell the person next to me, eh.. that guy ahhh. live punggol one.. next block. he working same building as me. and takes the same shuttle bus as me…
And if only I can apply this ability to my studies, like now, I TELL YOU, I CONFIRM SCORE STRAIGHT As ARH! AND I WILL DEFINITELY GRADUATE WITH FIRST CLASS HONOURS ARH!
But well, in actual fact, I dread going to PSOC and Econs class!
And today, Teacher Vanessa almost vomited blood while teaching me the balance sheet for POA. Teacher Shelin taught Joanna. And Teacher Vanessa don't even let me sidetrack (aka laugh with Joanna about our stupid mistakes).
boohooo!! *runs under the table and sulks*

The citizens of Cuba, who experienced 50 years of the economic blockade and developed their survival instincts to the utmost, may find themselves without toilet paper in the nearest future.
Spokespeople for Cimex, a state-run company that makes toilet paper in Cuba, said that their production was about to stop due to the economic crisis and destructive hurricanes that had recently lashed the island. Cuba imports toilet paper and runs its own production of it. However, the state-run company experiences a serious shortage of raw materials.
Cuba 's imports dropped by 20 percent in 2009, which affected the range of local stores. For the time being, Cuba imports about 60 percent of foodstuffs. The Cuban government has recently decided to lower prices on 24 socially essential goods to support the population despite the shortage of food in the nation.
In the meantime, the Cubans prepared an unusual gift for the 83rd anniversary of their leader. All bookstores of the nation now sell a dictionary of Fidel Castro's teachings. The 339-page book provides definitions of such important notions as 'history,' 'unemployment' and many others – all of them based on Castro's speeches and statements.
The Cuban state adheres to socialist principles in organizing its largely state-controlled planned economy. Most of the means of production are owned and run by the government and most of the labor force is employed by the state. Recent years have seen a trend towards more private sector employment. By the year 2006, public sector employment was 78% and private sector 22%, compared to 91.8% to 8.2% in 1981.
Capital investment is restricted and requires approval by the government. The Cuban government sets most prices and rations goods. Moreover, any firm wishing to hire a Cuban must pay the Cuban government, which in turn will pay the company's employee in Cuban pesos according to Human Rights Watch. Cubans can not change jobs without government permission. The average wage at the end of 2005 was 334 regular pesos per month ($16.70 per month) and the average pension was $9 per month.
Cuba relied heavily on trade with the Soviet Union. From the late 1980s, Soviet subsidies for Cuba started to dry up. Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Cuba depended on Moscow for sheltered markets for its exports and substantial aid. The removal of these subsidies sent the Cuban economy into a rapid depression known in Cuba as the Special Period. In 1992 the United States tightened the trade embargo, hoping to see democratization of the sort that took place in Eastern Europe.

There are already thousands of people in the remote Nepalese village come to the six-month-old Risab honor - the child was with four arms and four legs was born.
The villagers of Ramechhap keep the small Risab for a "relative" of the Hindu elephant god Ganesh: The baby arrived in January to the world with a belly to grow on "parasitic twin". As early as 5000 people came to the child to see. "Some people come and honor him and give money, usually just a few rupees, or clothes and food," his father told the British newspaper "The Guardian". "Others say that he saw as a monkey and the child was a witch.
The desperation of the 32-year-olds is large. Money for an operation, the family does not. They live in miserable conditions at 2000 meters altitude in the Himalayas. "It's not a simple operation," he says, "we want our children a normal life 'offer, but it needs a lot of money that I have not."

-TVA
