Era Najib Altantuya : Awang Adek Hussein Pembohong Tuduh Kerajaan Kelantan Tak Berminat Jayakan ECER

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 10:08 AM PDT

-Bernama

Era Najib Altantuya : SKMM Salahguna Kuasa (updated)

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 09:56 AM PDT

Tindakan Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) menyiasat portal berita Malaysiakini berhubung klip video demo kepala lembu memperlihatkan salahguna kuasa suruhanjaya berkenaan.

Menurutnya, walaupun cuba mengawal internet kerajaan Umno Barisan Nasional mungkin menemui kegagalan.

Pengarah Institut Nasional Untuk integriti Pilihan Raya (NIEI) Amin Iskandar yang memimpin kumpulan berkenaan berkata, mereka mengutuk tindakan SKMM menyiasat 12 kakitangan Malaysiakini.

-TVA

Era Najib Altantuya : MB N9 Dicabar Jawab Tuduhan Salahlaku (updated)

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 09:46 AM PDT

Belum pun Pilihan Raya Kecil Bagan Pinang bermula, Umno Barisan Nasional sudah berdepan dengan satu lagi masalah apabila kreadibiliti Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan dicabar.

Mohamad diminta menjawab lima isu besar setelah Ahli Majlis Pimpinan Pusat Parti Keadilan Rakyat Badrul Hisham Shaharin menyerahkan surat terbuka kepadanya pagi tadi di Wisma Negeri.

-TVA

The Founding of A Republic (2009) movie trailer

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 08:15 AM PDT

Trailer for Chinese movie The Founding of A Republic (建国大业), the biggest Chinese film ever produced in terms of star appearances, made in celebration for the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The video is a combo of various trailers, it gets repetitive after the 4th minute…

The story revolves around the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communists, which ended in 1949 when the People's Republic of China was established by the victorious Communists.

Almost all notable A-list mainland Chinese stars are taking (at least a cameo) part in the movie; many without paid just to have their face in the symbolic film.

‘Something not done right’

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 09:05 AM PDT

KUALA LUMPUR: The committee set up to investigate the collapse of Jaya Supermarket in Section 14 in Petaling Jaya found "something not done in the right way."

A report with findings on the cause of the collapse and the parties involved in the incident was submitted to the Cabinet on Wednesday.

Also in the report were recommendations to strengthen laws and regulations on building demolition to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the committee -- comprising engineers, police, firemen, architects and others -- took three months to come out with its report.

He said the cause of the collapse had been identified but declined to reveal details.

"A building hass to be systematically demolished and if something goes wrong, that means certain things were done not in the right way," he told a press conference at his office here on Wednesday.

He said his ministry was coordinating the report but it was up to the relevant agencies to take further action against those responsible, if any.

"They have to identify if any parties involved in the demolition works have to bear the responsibility, after seeking legal advice," he said.

He did not mention which agencies would be taking that role, but it is believed that the Department of Occupational Safety and Health as well as Petaling Jaya City Council were among those involved.

Kong said the stop-work order at the site was still enforced until further notice.

He said the Construction Industry Development Board and Sirim were working on strengthening existing laws and regulations on building demolition.

"They have to come out with standard procedures and proper methods of demolition for different types of buildings," he said.

He said they were also looking into tightening the requirements for re-development projects.

On May 28, part of the seven-storey iconic Jaya Supermarket in Petaling Jaya collapsed during demolishing works, killing seven construction workers.

Lawyer sues Govt, MACC, cops, newspaper and journos

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 09:03 AM PDT

KUALA LUMPUR: A lawyer defending a senior police officer filed a suit at the High Court Registry against 17 defendants from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the police, Utusan Malaysia and its journalists and the Government of Malaysia.

Rosli Dahlan, who is defending Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Ramli Yusoff on Anti-Corruption Act charges brought against him on Nov 2 two years ago, claimed general damages for RM20mil and exemplary and/ or aggravated damages for RM30mil with interests as well as costs for conspiracy.

He is also claiming general damages, exemplary and/ or aggravated damages with interests as well as costs against five defendants for the tort of defamation, and also claimed likewise against six defendants for the tort of assault and false imprisonment.

He also claimed against the Government for the torts of conspiracy, defamation, assault and false imprisonment.

In his statement of claim, Rosli, a partner in a leading law firm, said that following Tan Sri Musa Hassan's (now the Inspector-General of Police) emnity with Ramli in 2007, the defendants or any two or more of them and Musa, conspired and combined together wrongfully and with the intention of injuring him and/ or causing loss to him by destroying his reputation and integrity.

Rosli claimed that he was victimised for having advised Ramli and Datuk Johari Baharom who were made joint chairmen of a Cabinet Committee and Special Task Force to combat the menace of illegal money-lending in December, 2006.

He claimed that he was unlawfully, improperly and without cause served with a notice on July 17, 2007 and again on August 16, 2007 by two different ACA (now the MACC) officers on the directions of a senior officer.

He also claimed that six other ACA officers illegally arrested him and did an illegal and improper search of his financial position.

He also claimed that the conspiracy also included defamatory articles in Utusan Malaysia, The Star and the News Straits Times linking him with a senior police officer allegedly with assets valued at RM27mil.

He said he was also defamed in an Utusan article that appeared on Oct 12, 2007 following the caption "Peguam polis gagal isytihar harta didakwa hari ini" (Police lawyer who failed to declare assets charged today).

Although Utusan had published an apology last year, Rosli said they failed to disclose the source of their information.

He also claimed that he was wrongfully arrested, kicked, had his arms twisted and his wrists handcuffed behind his back in full view of the staff members of his firm and detained in the ACA's lock-up overnight without bail and access to his lawyers.

He named Utusan (Melayu) Malaysia Bhd, Utusan editors Mohd Zaini Hassan and Abdul Rahim Lajis, its reporter Ruhaidini Abdul Kadir, the then ACA deputy director general Datuk Abu Kassim Mohamed, ACA deputy director of Investigations and Prosecution Anthony Kevin Morais, ACA officers Saiful Ezral Arifin, Azmi Ismail, Azam Baki, E. Sok One, M. M. Mohan, Moses Lawrence, Augustine S. Manson and Mohd Ridzuan Bahrin as respondents.

He also named Deputy Public Prosecutor Dzulkifli Ahmad, Bank Negara financial intelligence unit manager Abdul Rahman Abu Bakar and the Government of Malaysia as defendants.

The statement of claim was filed on behalf of the Plaintiff by Messrs. Kumar Partnership.

Ex-Immigration DG graft trial

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 09:02 AM PDT

KUALA LUMPUR: The defence in the bribery trial of a former Immigration director-general asked for a "short cut" after the prosecution took two days to tender documents for identification.

Lead defence counsel Datuk V. Sithambaram said there were already documents submitted on the application of workers, the levies paid and the visas issued, adding that he did not see how further submission of documents would help the court.

"This is a bribery case and not a case on the procedures taken by the Immigration Department.

"There is no need to further show that there were approvals for the entry of Bangladeshi workers when the permission slips had been submitted as evidence earlier," he said when witness Ayub Abd Rahman took the stand to identify 21 application forms.

Ayub was testifying at the trial of Datuk Wahid Md Don, 57, who is charged with agreeing to accept RM60,000 from businessman Datuk Low Chang Hian as part payment to expedite approvals for 4,337 visa applications for Bangladeshis to enter the country.

Wahid is accused of committing the offence at his house in Jalan Lembah Ledang, off Jalan Duta, at 10.15pm on July 10, 2007.

DPP Mohd Jazamuddin Ahmad Nawawi then explained that the accused faced charges of expediting the approval of visa applications.

He said the application process had to be shown to the court because these were procedures that had to be followed before the visas were approved.

"We cannot submit it halfway or have a short cut. We know it involves a lot of documents but it is a process that must be followed," he said.

Sessions Court Judge Rosbiahanin Arifin said she would leave it to the prosecution but said it should also bear in mind the defence counsel's point.

On Wednesday, 118 documents — application forms, permission slips and temporary approval letters — were tendered. Another 155 temporary approval letters are to be tendered on Thursday.

Dikawal kebebasan

"Man is just a recent invention; and perhaps one that is nearing its end"

Pelajar selalu diberitahu mereka bebas. The central theme is; pelajar bebas untuk memilih segala jenis tindakannya.

Semua diperhatikan. Semua didaftarkan.

Internet tidak kurangnya. Yang guna facebook turut diperhatikan. Dikawal dan dibentuk oleh sistem yang disediakan. Bagaimana cara bertutur, komunikasi, cara berhubung, semua disediakan. Semua disistemkan. Pelajar hanya perlu ikut. Ikut sistem yang telah dibentuk. Ikut arahan yang diberikan.

Plihanraya kampus?

Tapi pelajar tetap bebas. Bebas untuk memilih.

najib altantuya: 92 celebrate as Malaysians on Malaysia Day

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 — 92 Malaysians celebrated a very special Malaysia Day when they received their Malaysian citizenship papers from Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein today.

Together with their families, they eagerly waited for the Home Minister to arrive today at the National Registration department here.

The 92 — of every age, race and background — were waiting for what they and their families have been struggling for so many years to achieve: the right to finally call themselves Malaysians.

There was much heartache before today as many lacked access to proper education and health care, or travel because they did not have any citizenship papers. Some were even teased and regarded as foreigners.

Joy showed on the families' faces when one after another received letters confirming their status from Hishammuddin.

One, Leong Chwee Chun, even hugged Hishammuddin later and exclaimed: "I am the happiest person in Malaysia today!"

New citizens proudly display their citizenship papers

The 64-year-old from Kuala Pilah had applied for citizenship when she was 28 years old, and told reporters that her father had lost the documents during the Japanese occupation.

Another, Sim Hua, a 68-year-old grandmother, had to wait for nine years after asking MCA Klang for assistance in her application.

Her parents were illiterate and did not know how to register her birth when she was young.

"I am very happy and would like to thank Datuk Seri Hishammuddin," her daughter told reporters while holding Sim's hand.

However, the darlings of the ceremony were seven-year-old twins Lavinya and Nikita Vikram.

The adorable twins did not have citizenship papers because their parents had them before marriage. The mother was also Russian and under 21 years of age at the time.

"There was no future for them but the future is now bright. I am so happy today. Thank you Datuk Seri," father Vikram told reporters.

"We love Malaysia!" the twins cheered.

"We love Malaysia!" Two young girls wave flags after today's ceremony

At a press conference held after the ceremony, Hishammuddin said that 70 per cent of the 32,927 applications for citizenship from 1997 to December 2008 had been processed.

He said the government hoped the remaining 30 per cent would be processed by the end of the year.

Hishammuddin added that today should be a reminder for Malaysians not to take the country for granted.

"The fact that people want to apply to be citizens of Malaysia, there must be something of value. There must something special about Malaysia, that people want to become citizens of Malaysia.

"It is just that sometimes we ourselves who have been citizens of Malaysia for so long take things for granted," he said.

I guess these 92 were left with no choice and Malaysia was the only country that they could apply for citizenship. So, sure happy lah!

Era Najib Altantuya : Pintu Belum tertutup Untuk Anwar Batalkan Kelayakan Pendakwa

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 07:14 AM PDT

Pink And Me ...

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 03:56 AM PDT

I'm a huge fan of Tesco when it comes to doing my groceries. I think I've heaped loads and loads of praises on them in numerous previous posts that they should start paying me for promoting them and their products ... LOL!

I don't really go to any other place (besides Cold Storage) for all my shopping needs that I know exactly where every product is placed on their aisles. In fact, there are people (you know who you are ... LOL!) out to trip me cos I visit Tesco so much.

I actually enjoy shopping at Tesco cos of their in-house products. They simply have one of the best in-house products available compared to the other three hypermarket giants here. I've shopped at all of their establishments and they simply cannot compare with Tesco when it comes to their in-house products.

For me and especially for wifey, packaging plays an important part for us in determining whether we would buy a certain product or not. Now Tesco, whomever they employ to work on their packaging really does a good job for them as far as I'm concerned. It's mostly tastefully done and attractive enough to make me wanna pick up their products and take it home. In fact, it's not just the packaging that is good but the contents of their product tastes pretty good if not excellent as well.

A week or so ago, during our normal grocery shopping session, we came across this new (at least to me anyway) product called Pink Salmon Fillets in brine in the canned food aisle and it instantly caught my attention. It was snuggled in among all the other local products of the same kind and this one was the most outstanding one of all. I'll bet you've all seen how lousy the local packaging for these kinds of food (sardines, tuna, etc) are when you shop haven't you?

I instantly bought two of them (the other was called Pick Salmon in mustard and dill sauce). I wanted to buy more but wifey said let's at least taste it before we buy out the entire store ... LOL! Yes, we have this habit of hoarding stuff if we like them a lot. And suffice to say it was pretty tasty so much so that I'm going to buy as much as I can afford to the next time I go shopping.

We had them with spaghetti, I know it's not the best combination, but trust me, it tasted just nice and blended in well with the spaghetti. But the best way to enjoy this is on it's own with some vegetables and maybe some creamy chicken or mushroom soup, which is exactly the way I'm going to try it next :D Between the two, I prefer the Pink Salmon Fillet in brine to the Pink Salmon Fillet in mustard and dill sauce though I recommend both of them.

I can't wait to go to Tesco this weekend and get more of this stuff. At the rate I'm going, I'm most definitely going to have to find the best weight loss supplement's pretty soon to curb the pounds I'm packing! All I've been doing the past two weeks is eating, eating and more eating!

Damn you Tesco for coming up with all these darned good products ... LOL! By the way, in case any of you people at Tesco do happen to read my blog, it would be nice if you gave me loads of discount coupons for promoting your company and your products. I know, I have no shame whatsoever ... LOL!

Era Najib Altantuya : Kahar Bakal Beraya Dalam Penjara

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 05:17 AM PDT

Is it a lucky day for TZ or what? As everyone knew that I was waiting for a call from all the companies that i have my resume deposit into... unfortunately TZ's phone was so quiet until this afternoon... TZ was down for the past weeks. Thanks to all my friends around me who supported me move on day by day.

So what happened on September 16th today in TZ's book of history... hehehe... back in 1996, i started my first job in a MNC company... i got hired straight after a walk-in-interview. My start date was 091696 or 160996. Anyone wanna to buy 4 digits? here u go the number 0916 or 1609 :p

Hehehe...  this afternoon it happened again ... I got a call from one of the company that i submitted my resume in this morning... wow! so efficient...  although it's a short conversation between us but it's a good conversation. Lunch time at Ko Phi Phi Don Island

Posted: 16 Sep 2009 04:22 AM PDT

So we have been to the Maya Bay, Monkey Bay and went snorkelling, now we are now going to the real Phi Phi island with human inhabitants. According to the dictionary, Ko means island in Thai, Phi Phi Don is the name for the island I guess and this is the place where there's shops, a pier and hotels.

During my Phuket trip, I went to this Phi Phi Islands tour and one of the stop was the Ko Phi Phi Don and this was where we had our lunch break. The lunch provided was included in our one day trip.

The place is kinda small with a narrow street connecting to a few hotels and shops are just along the street. There's no car at there, it's all on walking as it's so small. I still can't imagine what it was when the tsunami strikes 4 years back, it sure must be a nightmare.

Lunch we had were typical Asian Thai food and there's spaghetti and salad for the caucasian friends.

After lunch, we had like about 30 minutes to roam around the place. It's really very small and the time we had was short, so we didn't go anywhere far, we were just walking on the street that connects directly to the pier in case we don't get lost there. The place is pretty quiet when compare to the beaches at Phuket, mostly because this is just a island.

There's shops selling shirt, Thai souvenirs, tour service, diving, snorkelling service and stuff like that. I saw this cliff jumping thing and got excited, I wonder when only I get to try it. It must be thrill, scary, exciting, cool, refreshing and screams.

Since hotels are not built right in front of the pier, it's very common to see Thai boy pulling the cart filled with luggage bags and shouting to give away.

I saw a lot of tourist coming in from the pier and look at the hotel board to see the photos and room rate of hotel. The place is like a starting point or transit point for them before going to another place because there's tour service to almost everywhere in Thailand. Pretty cool.

We got back to our speedboat and off to another island and it's the last stop for our one day Phi Phi Islands trip. =)
