Era Najib Altantuya : PAS Mampu Rampas Bagan Pinang

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 08:48 AM PDT

Era Najib Altantuya : SPR Ultra Vires Sekat Pilihanraya Kecil - Ambiga (updated)

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 07:15 AM PDT

The escape... at last!

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 07:11 AM PDT

Despite the smooth escape from her "evil" sister's house last week, Anita couldn't be too sure of how things would turn out when she visits her other sisters back in her hometown. I too was quite concerned of a "keluar mulut buaya, masuk mulut harimau" situation. When I managed to speak to her eldest sister on Tuesday morning, I thought there was a chance. But after that there were no more calls from Anita. And it has been a whole week since I sent her off at the bus station. I began to wonder if she got into some kind of trouble.

As I was driving to my office this morning, my phone rang. It was from Anita - and she was already at the Ipoh bus station! Aduh, why lah didn't she notify me before she boarded the bus?! I had already made other plans this morning so I couldn't simply go to the bus station to fetch her and send her to the shelter home. Besides, I'd also need to notify Kak Ana at the shelter home - she may have other plans too for all I know.

Anita had no choice but to wait. I had to settle some work at the office and I also needed to go to Istana Kinta. You see, I got a call yesterday from a lady from Yayasan Sultan Azlan Shah to inform me that my NGO has been listed amongst the recipients of grants from the Yayasan and that the cheque presentation is to be held next weekend. I was asked to go to Istana Kinta where their office is to confirm attendance. (Yes, THE Istana Kinta where some political drama took place earlier this year but I shall not go into that)

So yes, I went this morning and once I got into the Istana compounds, I was a bit tercangak-bangak looking for the office but made it without making a fool of myself... or so I think. Anyway, I read through the letter and noticed that for the cheque presentation (by HRH Raja Muda), the dress code for ladies is baju kurung/baju kebaya. I never had any kebaya all my life and it had been quite a while since I had any baju kurung in my wardrobe. My wardrobe now is full of jubah or ala-ala jubah. Hmmm... wonder if my sister still has any baju kurung that I can borrow. Never mind, that I can resolve later!

Back to Anita's case, as soon as I got to my office this morning, I called up Kak Ana. She was on her way somewhere. I told her about Anita's sudden appearance in Ipoh without notice, and asked if I could send her over to the shelter home today. Thank God Kak Ana said she should be back by then.

Then I called my colleague who had been liaising with the JPN officer, and asked him to make an appointment some time next week if possible. Today was already too late, and Monday is a holiday in Perak. Simply bringing Anita to JPN any time next week may not be a good idea. I don't want Anita to come to Ipoh all the way from the shelter home only to find out that the officer is on leave or outstation. It's best to make an appointment. After all, Anita's case is a bit, errm no... a lot complicated, which definitely needs the attention of a higher ranking officer, not simply any Mat, Minah, Ah Chong, Mei Lan, Muthu or Meenachi at the JPN counters.

After my zohor prayer, off I went to fetch Anita & her baby boy. I didn't want to get caught in the anticipated jam in my kampong as the Deputy Prime Minister was scheduled to make an official visit to my kampong around 4 pm.

Anita and her baby had been at the bus station since morning. Poor souls! But without earlier notice from Anita, it was difficult for me to reschedule my commitments. Anyway, as soon as they got into my car, we headed straight to the shelter home, which is about 1 hour 20 minutes drive away. I didn't want to come back to Ipoh too late and rush for buka puasa. Any questions whatsoever that I needed to ask Anita would have to be done on the way to the shelter home.

We reached the shelter home around 3.20 pm. Kak Ana was not back yet but her husband and daughter were there to greet me and Anita. The daughter then called Kak Ana and was told that Kak Ana would reach the home soon.

While waiting for Kak Ana, guess who I got to see, hold and play with? Yep, none other than my little Cek Mek! Woo hoo! Goodness, she's such a good girl - tak banyak ragam langsung! And she has obviously become chubbier! Unlike some babies who smile or laugh when we play with them, Cek Mek has that selamba look - like muka sadin like that! Eh, sounds familiar lah pulak... ikut siapalah agaknya... ;)

Anyway, after a while, Kak Ana came back, and after explaining some matters to her, I simply had to make a move. Initially I wanted to leave by 4 pm, but since Kak Ana herself got home a bit late, I only managed to make a move at 4.20 pm. I had at least another 1 hour 20 minutes of travel time to go through and I wanted to have a bit of rest before berbuka so I wouldn't be too tired for terawikh.

I reached Ipoh about 5.40 pm and since I hadn't performed my asar prayer, I immediately headed back to my kampong. But just before the bridge in my kampong, some traffic police signaled to me to stop by the roadside.

No, I wasn't breaking any traffic rules lah! Definitely not speeding - it was after all just a jalan kampong!

The DPM's visit to my kampong that I mentioned earlier, remember?? You see my kampong is a traditional kampong smack right in the middle of Ipoh. The roads are small and at certain stretches, when cars are going opposite direction, one car would have to make way for the other. And my car was going the opposite direction of the DPM's car!

So, guess who had to make way? The DPM? Of course.... NOT! Not only did I have to make way for the DPM's convoy, there were so many other cars also going out as the function had just ended! Wrong timing sungguh...

Oh well, at least I've settled Anita's escape and a new shelter for Anita and her baby boy. As for her IC and the boy's BC, I believe we've still got a long way to go... at least another 6 months if we're lucky...

Era Najib Altantuya : Tubuh Suruhanjaya Bebas Betulkan SPRM

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 07:02 AM PDT

-TVSelangor

Era Najib Altantuya : UMNO Terengganu Makin Parah, Musa Tawar Diri Jadi Orang Tengah

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 06:41 AM PDT

-TVA

Last night Francis and I were being observed constantly by a man who made his turns round our table. I guess the best way to avoid weird stares is just don't look back. Pretend like you don't notice right? And when I did so the man approached us. He asked if we are patrons of the restaurant he works at. Francis immediately recognized his distinctive birth mark on the face. We both said hello. He wanted to have a seat with us sharing the table. I felt that it was no harm to allow it. Though something didn't seem quite right. Maybe it was because he could not look straight into our eyes, not for even 5 seconds. Plus if he really wanted to drop by, exchange hellos and grab a seat by all means why follow us for minutes? I caught him staring at my dress then my bag. Francis on the other hand gave me a signal to actually leave.

To make a sudden exit to the loo at 11:30 on a Thursday night at the movies in Kuching can be an excuse. But the stranger happened to be catching Final Destination 4 at 12:15 in the same theater as us. I suppose if he wanted to plan something he could. What scared me most about him was he'd also consequently through side glances at us with his chin down. Hands inside pockets. Our seats are located at the very center of the theater. Meaning should he insist on coming close it'd be very difficult and obvious. I waited till the doors of theater 3 opened. 15 minutes before the show! YES! We smiled at the stranger telling him we're going to the loo. I slowly grabbed our snacks and made up conversation with Francis while we watched him enter the theater. *Phew*... thank God he was sitting way back behind.

Towards the ending of the movie I turned around and saw the stranger observing us again. Francis specifically told me to walk in front of him. By then I thought coast was clear as in he might have already left. I procrastinated in getting out of there. Mainly to see if he was gone. Too many people hogging the exists for me to keep an eye on the stranger. After both of us finally got out of theater 3 to my surprise he was right behind us. The horror of knowing that had me glaring at him. Don't know what made him decide to change route and headed for the lifts facing the loo. We made sure a crowd was surrounding us where the entrance lifts are.
Be warned people :/

A good friend of mine will be engaged this weekend :) Clarence is my senior in law studies. I have not seen a girl as pretty as Erica during my trip to Hong Kong! *lol* Congratulations to Clarence Yong and Erica Lee!

Era Najib Altantuya : Pemuda PR Bantah Lanjutan Khidmat KPN Bermasalah

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 04:29 AM PDT

Sayap pemuda parti-parti komponen Pakatan Rakyat menghantar memorandum ke Kementerian Dalam Negeri membantah penyambungan kontrak Ketua Polis Negara Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

-TVA

Era Najib Altantuya : Badan A/Bangsa Kecam Demo Kepala lembu

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 04:08 AM PDT

-harakahdaily

Washington, D.C. (August 28, 2009) - The Hindu American Foundation sent the following letter to the Malaysian Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan in response to a Muslim mob's vulgar protest demanding the Malaysian government rescind its orders for relocating a Hindu temple to Section 23 of Shah Alam. A pdf version of the letter can be downloaded by clicking here.

Dear Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan,

We write to protest the vulgar, religiously provocative, and racially incendiary act by a Muslim mob demanding that the government rescind the orders for relocating the Sri Mariamman temple in Section 23 of Shah Alam. According to media reports, this mob, which gathered on August 28, 2009 after Friday prayers, threatened violence and bloodshed, and as if to prove their intent, left the severed head of a cow at the gates of the State Secretariat. As you know, the cow is revered by Hindus as a symbol of purity, motherhood and ahimsa (non-violence). We regret that the police allowed this provocative act to be carried out, and we seek a quick and robust inquiry to identify both the leaders of the Muslim mob and the inaction of the police.

Malaysia has already been a country of particular concern for us in light of the numerous Hindu temple destructions, custodial battles in Shariah courts involving at least one Hindu parent, the arrest and persecution of Hindu-Malaysian leaders, and Bumiputra laws that discriminate against the minority communities. Thus, the countenance by local police of Muslim provocative acts is added cause for alarm in a country that is already facing volatile racial and religious issues. We are gravely concerned about the law and order situation in the country, and the state's unwillingness to firmly clamp down on the religious bigotry of the Muslim majority. Such tensions only bring about a greater sense of insecurity amongst the Hindu residents.

We hope that the Malaysian government will take steps to ensure that Hindus residents will be protected, that the Sri Mariamman temple is relocated in Section 23 of Shah Alam, and the leaders of the mob that carried out this heinous act are brought to justice.
Sincerely,
Ishani Chowdhury
Director of Public Policy

Another Choo places his life on the line for his country

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 01:30 AM PDT

I am talking about Choo Hou Ran. He was doing his sixth form in Anglo Chinese School, Ipoh in the year 2007. He dropped out of school when he successfully passed the interview to become a Navy Cadet. What is unique about this Choo is that he is the third generation of Choo's to place his life on the line for Malaysia. I attended his passing out parade on the 11th July 2009 at the Lumut Naval Base. He was commissioned by the King. I would like to thank his sister Vivienne and his brother Kelvin for some of the photos they forwarded to me. Here is a video clip of that memorable occasion.

"The Downfall"

If Hitler Jackos mourns death of ...

... then there were the YouTube hobbyists at work. The addition of subtitles, the tantrum scene from 'The sinking is replaced by "a whole new meaning. And so we see the leader, who is unnerved about several topics: Hannah Montana, modified the Wikipedia entry, or - most recently - on the Oasis resolution.

In the bunker, the situation is serious. The High Command of the Armed Forces must inform the driver that his tickets to the Oasis concert in Berlin are invalid. General cancer runs: Noel and Liam had once again fight - the concert is canceled. "That does not mean anything", says Hitler, "what has happened again and again." But now they have to tell him: Oasis have definitely broken up ...

As much as the guide to the Berlin Oasis concert would have gone - and then they dissolve briefly before. "This long-haired, northern England idiot! I even grow their hair for the concert! "He had the band always kept the faith - though Eva Braun originally preferred Blur ...

With the film scene of Hitler's outburst by the Swiss actor Bruno Ganz said cinema history. But the sequence also enjoyed uncommon popularity in the English-speaking Internet scene. There now exist dozens of parodies in which this scene in the German original sound with English subtitles is fictional background. In this example, subtitles Hitler raging about the fact that the U.S. housing market collapsed, or his "World of Warcraft" account has been locked.

On the Death of Michael Jackson, he laments the lack of appreciation of the singer: "At first I finance him his Hauptbleichungen and this is now my thanks!" Now all the radio stations would be this miserable "Feed the World" up and down play. "And if I hear one more pedophile joke, I'm on the ceiling!"

Meanwhile, the series of "Downfall" mash-ups, as they are called has developed its own life. Already there are early clips in which Hitler, General Krebs pointed out that someone had deliberately changed the subtitle: "I say, 'Berlin' and below is 'Xbox'." Moreover, German-speaking people would not understand the joke. Be, "How stupid you have to, not to recognize that this is comedy!", The enraged officer ...

Era Najib Altantuya : SPR Ultra Vires Sekat Pilihanraya Kecil - Ambiga

Posted: 04 Sep 2009 02:24 AM PDT

-Bernama
