It was reported that former MB Selangor Khir Toyo had received a death threat letter from an anonymous individual on Tuesday 15, 2009. The letter was hand written and bears the Bukit Raja, Klang postage mark. The person warned Khir to lay off from any attempt to take over the Selangor state government; otherwise he will be shot dead with a gun or be blow piped with a poison dart.

I just do not know whether to laugh or cry at this threat, because I see no logical reason for anyone to kill Khir Toyo. In fact many in Selangor (me included) preferred him alive so that he can face the law regarding his palatial home and the Balkis affairs that is currently under investigations by MACC. The longer he stays alive, the better it is for Selangor, because many more 'skeletons' will be revealed in the course of the investigation.

I tend to believe that the letter is some sort of a ruse to divert the attention of people away from the on going MACC investigation. It could also be an attempt to influence the minds of the people that the death threat letter is the work of someone from the ruling party of the Selangor state government. I know to well that the supporters of Khir Toyo will soon be coming out with several allegations all aimed at blaming the PR state government, and to keep the MB Tan Sri Khalid on the defensive.

I am not surprise too that the supporters of Khir Toyo will try another 'kepala lembu' trick i.e. to launch a protest in front of the gates of the Selangor State Secretariat or in front of the residence of the MB carrying banners alleging that the PR government is implicated in the attempted murder of Khir Toyo. The reason they will give is that the PR government wants to shut off Khir Toyo because he knows too much about the abuses and corruption of the state government, and this is enough to spark an immediate reaction by the Selangor MACC to launch further raids on the PR government.

If at all the the intention to kill off Khir Toyo by elements within the PR state government is true, then I would say that the PR is stupid; much more stupid than a cow. Isn't this what Khir Toyo has said of a cow?

Era Najib Altantuya : Mahathir Tak Lupa Nazri Kecamnya, Tak Kisah Insiden Gantung Kasut

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 07:45 AM PDT

Orang semua pertahankan saya.

Mengenai hasrat Sukumaran ingin menemuinya untuk memohon maaf, Dr Mahathir berkata: "Minta maaf tak apa, tak minta maaf pun tak apa.

Dr Mahathir berkata Sukumaran kini menjadi mangsa percakapannya sendiri.

Selasa lepas, Presiden MIC Datuk Seri Samy Vellu mengumumkan penggantungan serta-merta keanggotaan Sukumaran ekoran kecamannya itu. -Bernama

The Saudi king ought to stop killing non-Muslims first by Raymond Ibrahim

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 06:56 AM PDT

I came across Art Haruns piece on, Islam's propagation of violence against non-Muslims - correcting a misconception. He writes," My article "Of Islam, Churches and Temples" drew much attention from Malaysians and foreigners alike. Many readers posted positive comments on my blog as well as other blogs where that article appeared. There are many non-Muslim readers who were in fact appreciative of Islam's position when it comes to the rights of non-Muslims to practise their respective faith and belief.

Well, all his arguments are virtually demolished by an article written by Raymond Ibrahim ,who is a Coptic Christian, Coptics if you must know, are the original inhabitants of Egypt long before the advent of Islam, who happen to be persecuted vigourously in the "moderate" state of Egypt. Christians who commented in Art Harun's piece better pay attention to this article, which states : The Koran declares : "O you who believe! Take neither Jews nor Christians as friends…whoever among you turns to them is one of them" 5:51.

According to the Associated Press, Saudi King Abdullah, in an unprecedented move last week, "made an impassioned plea for dialogue among Muslims, Christians, and Jews" — going so far as to refer to the latter two as "our brothers." The Jerusalem Post states that such talks would be geared to developing "respect among religions." The Arabian kingdom, however, is famous for tenaciously upholding and exporting "Wahhabism/Salafism," that literalist brand of Islam that preaches absolutely no tolerance — murdering apostates and condemning all non-Muslims as infidels — and famous also for having supplied 15 of the 19 hijackers of 9/11, "educating" fellows such as Osama bin Laden, and boasting a sword on its national flag. One can't help but question the old monarch's motives.

More tellingly, days before the king's call for dialogue, prominent Saudi Sheikh Abdul Rahman Barack issued a death-fatwa against two Saudi writers. Their crime? They wrote articles in the Saudi paper Al-Riyadh questioning the Muslim position that holds all non-Muslims — whom the Saudi king would otherwise call "brothers" — as infidels. According to the Arab News, Barack said: "Anyone who claims this [that non-Muslims are not infidels] has refuted Islam and should be tried so that he can take it back. If not, he should be killed as an apostate from the religion of Islam."

Does this mean that King Abdullah truly believes Christians and Jews are not infidels, and if so, does that also mean a fatwa for his life is forthcoming? At any rate, is the Saudi king aware that "dialogue" is supposed to be held by two or more singular participants who nonetheless genuinely believe that they share some basic human rights — such as the freedom to practice whatever religion they wish without being molested? Only civilized peoples who are agreed to such fundamentals can move on to more temporal matters, such as territorial disputes (e.g., Israel/Palestine). But what is the point of having "dialogue" over secondary matters when the primary issues — basic human rights — are not endorsed by all participants?

In Saudi Arabia, the facts remain: native citizens who dare convert to Christianity must be slain; absolutely no churches or any other "symbol" of non-Muslim worship (e.g., crosses, rosaries, Bibles) is permitted on the peninsula; non-Muslims are barred from entering Mecca or Medina.

These are just the visible forms of intolerance practiced in the home of Islam and its founder. Theoretically — or rather, theologically — speaking, the worldview of Wahhabism/Salafism is even worse: whenever the opportunity presents itself, the whole world must be brought under Islamic rule, either willingly or by the sword, following the pattern of the Islamic prophet and the first "righteous" caliphs. What is even more troubling is that this Muslim view of world conquest isn't merely a product of certain obscurantist schools of Islamic thought; rather it is the codified worldview of all four schools of jurisprudence in Sunni Islam. In fact, it is a communal duty (a fard kifaya) imposed on Muslims.

So where exactly does Abdullah get the gall to call for "dialogue"? The measure of any community's sincerity and tolerance toward nonmembers is how well that community treats nonmembers under its suzerainty. The West treats all religions roughly equally (in fact, Christianity often seems to be the most under attack). In the United States, for example, Muslim minorities have the exact same rights — to build places of worship (mosques), publicly carry their scriptures (Korans), to worship and proselytize, and, simply, to be Muslim — as do Christians and others. That is proof that the West is prepared for dialogue over ancillary matters: it has already visibly demonstrated that it firmly believes all humans are guaranteed basic rights.

Countries like Saudi Arabia evince no respect for basic human rights and freedoms. The contrast is amply demonstrated by the recent comments of one high ranking Saudi who said that "It would be possible to launch official negotiations to construct a church [note the singular] in Saudi Arabia only after the Pope and all the Christian churches recognize the prophet Muhammad" — which of course would make all Christians Muslim. How would Muslims react to a requirement that, to build mosques in the U.S., they must first publicly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? Continued here...

Consumes power when my computer is off?

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 07:40 AM PDT

"What is the difference between my computer at logoff, shutdown, sleep and sleep?" one reader asked us. "I have a suspicion that my PC so have a little power is consumed when it is off," says an environmentally conscious readers. Questions enough ...

By turning off the computer the user is always faced with the choice: logout, shutdown, sleep, sleep and shutdown after updates. Which program you choose, a computer still consumes 3 to 4 watts per hour electricity. That consumption is minimal in one years time up to 25kW and more. It requires only a minimal effort to save that amount.

"Power consumption is dependent on computer programs," says Bart Stoffels, editor of PC Magazine. "Gaming takes the most energy, approximately 350tot 450watt. This is calculated without the screen, which once consumed more than 10watt. "

Afmelden. The computer remains below normal operating voltage and consumed than 150Watt. He just waits until the user log on again.

Sleep. The computer consumes 5tot 10watt because memory is kept under tension. All data is stored in memory. From the sleep you can quickly start working again.

Sleep. This mode is slightly more economical than Sleep. All data is now stored on the hard disk. The restart takes a little longer.

Exit. Even after the computer is completed, it consumes some energy. Often the screen remains powered up. The new European standard should not consume more than one screen 1Watt. But according to Bart Stoffels meet many new PCs have not meet this standard. The peripherals like a printer consumes a few watts. Sometimes the user the option to "quit after updates. Do this if your program's somewhat up-to-date to keep. For the extra consumption you do not have to, because this task has been carried out after a few minutes. You do not worry that your PC will be left on for hours. The fan might make some noise, but consumes only 1Watt.

Who really wants to be certain that it consumes no power, but could do better himself as Bart Stoffels: evening all appliances off completely. "You can best pull the plug, but that can easily plug in a block (around 6 euros, ed.), That all devices plugged automatically disconnects the power. "

Era Najib Altantuya : Hishamuddin Bebaskan ISA Untuk Bersihkan Imejnya

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 07:33 AM PDT

-TVA

Ramadhan Bazaar At Sibu Town Square

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 06:59 AM PDT

Ramadhan is nearing its end and that signals that Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner. Sibu market is hotting up as festive shopping trends up. If you go to shopping malls, you feel easily the mood in the atmosphere.

This year, again, SMC set up a Ramadhan Bazaar for the convenience of Muslims. Over the years, the Ramadhan Bazaar has evolved into somewhat like a Malay food fair. It is an attraction if we promote it well.

I went there with Yian last Sunday to look for some goodies. Eventually we settled on grilled chicken. At RM 16 per whole chicken, it was really not pricey. We gave a big thumb up to the taste.

najib altantuya Slipper jibe: Dr M says Umno leaders did worse - nizar nizar

I knew Dr M, a man of great stature, would be least bothered by the 'slipper-garland' insult hurled against him.

Dr M specially mentioned Nazri,

Our Photo Exhibition Has Ended

Last day of the photographis exhibition at KLPac
Last day of our photographic exhibition on the death of our mothers at KLPac.

The joint photographic exhibition titled "Exits – The Mysteries of Death" with Victor Chin and Wuan ended last Sunday. I felt a little sad and lost as Victor and Wuan began taking down the frames. It took this long to sink in that we do not need to go to KLPac anymore on weekends.

Victor and Wuan taking down the frames
Victor and Wuan taking down the frames hanging on the wall and panels.

Wuan and I and Victor spent six weekends at KLPac talking to visitors and sharing with them the stories behind the images. In talking, we relived the pain and anguish of experiencing the deaths of our mothers respectively. Yet, it was also a celebration to us – celebrating the love and care that our mothers had imparted to us. In sharing with visitors, we also came to realise many more aspects of our parents that we never knew.

Packing up to leave.

At the same time, the images brought out a lot of emotions in our visitors, with many of them telling us that they were reminded of their loved ones. A number had tears in their eyes as they recalled the last moments they spent with a parent or a grandparent.

Wuan and I are extremely glad that Victor took us under his wings and guided us along the way. Never had I envisioned to share the photographs of my mother and of her funeral in such a way. It was a liberating experience to be able to open up to strangers on a subject as intimate as this. Besides, death is something we seldom want to talk about openly. Thank you, Victor, for taking us on this unforgettable journey. We would also like to thanks friends and visitors who dropped by to share with us their stories and for leaving messages in the guest book.

Inkues Teoh Beng Hock : Hishamuddin Berada Di Pejabat SPRM Jam 5.45 am

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 06:38 AM PDT

(16 Julai).

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas is the latest project from my online friend Quachee. It's an online cookshow showcasing the Peranakan (or Nyonya) cuisine.

Peranakan refers to descendants of foreign immigrants (primarily Chinese) who assimilated with the Nusantara community during the 15th & 16th century and created a unique culture of their own. Chinese-Peranakan is often referred to as Baba (male) and Nyonya (female).

The BIG Bibik & The Little Nyonyas revolves around a Peranakan grandmother teaching her grandchildren and friends on the art of cooking Nyonya dishes. Below are the first two (of eight) webisodes…

Era Najib Altantuya : Undi Pos, Agus Gesa SPR Pandang Serius Teguran Rakyat

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 04:11 AM PDT

Katanya setiap kali apabila bilangan undi pos di sesuatu kawasan pilihan raya banyak, maka timbul dakwaan "kerajaan menang kerana undi pos".

-Bernama

Era Najib Altantuya : Isa Samad Berdolak Dalik

Posted: 17 Sep 2009 04:00 AM PDT

Ketua Umno Bahagian Telok Kemang Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad masih berdolak-dalik apabila wartawan mengajukan soalan adakah beliau calon Barisan Nasional (BN) bagi pilihan raya kecil Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Bagan Pinang.

Namun, Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin mahukan Umno Negeri Sembilan menyenaraikan sekurang-kurangnya tiga nama sebelum dipilih calon BN di Bagan Pinang.

"Semangat ahli-ahli parti tinggi manakala 'respond' masyarakat pun nampak begitu baik.
