Last Friday, Boon Hoay, the schoolmate, friend, of the class next to mine asked me out for a steamboat dinner in Town Steamboat House. The last time I came here was last year's Christmas Eve and I could feel that it's something fun because, it's steamboat and friends. We can talk and eat all night long.
Gonna thank Chien Chern for driving me there, he just got his driving license and I want to congratulate him here, as an appreciation.
The steamboat place is always crowded with people, so do last's Friday. We wanted a spot on the outside but it's full, we should have made a reservation at first. Inside wasn't that good because it's pretty warm. Imagine when the steamboat starts, it will be sweating a lot.
It was Boon Hoay, Chien Chern, Zhen Yuan and me that were there and started eating first, an hour later only then Zez Chien and Arron came to join us from as far away as Bayan Lepas.
It's "Eat-All-You-Can" for RM17.90. We started our steamboat and grilling thing at around 7.30 at night, went to take the food for lots of round until half past ten. It's a long three hour dinner for us and it's so full. It's always not a good idea to go for buffet or something like this because you will be feeling a little bit uncomfortable and bloated after the meal.
Just enjoying the process and talk cock time with friends. I did say about I dislike steamboat or BBQ, but doing it with a lot of friends is different, there's people help me out on the food and now I got a concept that just put the food into the mouth whether it's well-cooked or not, we are strong for it. Haha.
Hope to do this again soon but not so often because I don't want to be broke. It's fun!
By the way, met a friendly family on the next table, didn't get the name but they asked me to help them take a photo, and here it is. =)

Umno Barisan Nasional (BN) menghalalkan apa jua cara bagi mendapatkan kemenangan Plihanraya Kecil di Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Bagan Pinang setelah BN tujuh kali tewas pada pilihanraya kecil sebelum ini.
Timbalan Ketua Angkatan Muda Keadilan Malaysia, Fariz Musa berkata kemenangan Isa Samad menewaskan calon PAS, Zulkefly Mohamad Omar adalah disebabkan provokasi Umno BN.

Dr Mahathir: BN Victory Expected
KUALA LUMPUR - Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he had expected BN to retain the Bagan Pinang state seat as it was the coalition's stronghold.
"I am very happy. From the beginning I had predicted we (BN) will win as that is our area. Isa (Mohd Isa Abdul Samad) is strong there and the Indians also supported him.
"I believed he would win although another BN candidate would also have won. Now we have to look after other areas.

Do you believe in those paid-SPM/PMR or whatever examination seminar? I don't and I wouldn't want to waste money on it. But the one I attended on last Sunday was different because it's cheap, only RM5 and I got a file, unlimited supply of mineral water and a cake. Since it's not expensive, I went to take a look with my classmate, hoping I can get some extra tips and information from the seminar.
Organized by the Penang Chinese Town Hall something-something and there's 5 speakers for 5 subjects out of 11 subjects which I will be sitting for in the coming SPM exam in 18th November.
Look at the face or the organizer, why so serious?
Frankly speaking, most thing that they talked about it weren't useful for us because our school teacher had already told us about it. The only interesting one is the speaker on Chinese Language which was a little bit interesting with some sense of humour.
Some part was too boring and we went out for breakfast before continue on. We had the famous Kuan Yim Temple Lor Mee.
Bad thing happened that they was that I got my first parking ticket! My friend told me that I should put coin into the parking machine but I insisted not to because I thought that it's free on Sunday and Public Holiday. When I was going home, I saw a piece of paper clipping on the viper and I was nervous about it.
And yes, it's a parking ticket. OMG, that's my first time and feeling a bad and a little bit excited. I was feeling excited because I got content to write on blog. Haha. Just kidding.
The parking ticket fined is RM15 and luckily it's not from the police but the city council.
I wasn't wrong, parking is FREE on Sunday and Public Holiday, but it's on the other street, at Beach Street. That was Pitt Street that I got my parking ticket. It's just 2 block away and the parking fare is different. That sucks a bit. From a supposed to be RM0.80×4=RM3.20 became a RM15 parking rate. Now I know I must put in the coin on Sunday. So you guys beware too.

1. I speak only for myself, and I am not implicating others in what I am about to say. I do not really care what others have to say of me, because what I about to say is only to defend what is right and to despise what is wrong that the army leadership today has done during the Bagan Pinang by-elections.
2. Never in my 33 years in the army has the army leadership been so blatant and outright foolish to go on a campaign trail in support of an election candidate; in this instant a BN candidate. It is pointless for me to explain the various occasions in which the army has been openly seen to have breached the rules regarding the neutrality of the Armed Forces in politics. I have posted a number of articles regarding this, and I invite you to read it, if you have any sense of being a responsible senior army officer.
3. I do not believe that the army leadership is not aware of such blatant acts, and I suppose they are so timid and scared shit of the politicians that there are willing to stoop so low as to become honourable servants of politicians. I have heard of a speech made by a senior army officer at a gathering in a camp in Port Dickson where some notable politicians were in attendance, and the speech is shocking and a cleverly crafted one to entice soldiers to vote for the BN candidate. How stupid and silly this officer was, to have danced to the tune of his political masters. He certainly looked more of a moron and sounded like an aging cow that is just about to be slaughtered.
4. If this is the kind of leadership that your senior army officers exhibit, then I would suggest all of you to shed off your uniforms, and start becoming the true and humble servants of politicians. You all do not deserve to wear the uniform, and if you have stars on your shoulder, please have it thrown into the dustbin. It is only the honourable and fearless officers that are entitled to adorn the uniform.
5. What had happened in Port Dickson have exposed you to public odium and a disgrace to the appointment that you hold. You have made the army a laughing stock that will be looked at in disgust. Honestly, I have never been so hard onto people that I know, but to see the examples that I saw in Port Dickson makes me boil in anger.
6. There is nothing that you can do now to correct the mistakes that the army has done by giving special preference to a certain political party and for this, you will forever be remembered as one that had brought the army shamefully to its knees.

Court orders return of Kugan's samples to UMMC
PETALING JAYA: The Magistrate's Court here ordered the police to return the forensics samples of A. Kugan, who died in police custody early this year, to Universiti Malaya Medical Center (UMMC).
Magistrate Ho Kwong Chin made the ruling on Monday after hearing submissions by lawyer N. Surendran, the counsel for Kugan's mother, N. Indra, and deputy public prosecutor Hanim Mohd Rashid, who represented the police.
"After hearing submissions by both parties, the court orders that the specimen and other items seized to be returned to UMMC immediately," he added.
Indra had filed the application to compel the police to return all items, documents, tissue samples and bodily fluids to the UMMC pathology department as she wanted to sent them to a medical centre in Australia for toxicology tests to determine whether Kugan was given any injection prior to his death in January this year.
Kugan, 22, was arrested on Jan 15 on suspicion of being involved in car theft activities but was found dead the day after.
On Oct 1, a police officer from the USJ police station pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court to two charges of causing grievous hurt to Kugan. -Bernama

Kong ready to lead MCA
Giam Say Khoon
Contacted by theSun, he said: "MCA leaders' responsibility is to serve the party, which included the possibility of being appointed to any position in the party. However, that will still depend on the MCA central committee (CC) as to whether they want me (to lead the party) or not," he said in a phone interview today.
On Saturday, the central delegates passed a motion of no confidence against party president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat with a 14-vote majority while literally sacking Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek a deputy president.
Kong, who is housing and local government minister, stressed that the outcome of the EGM must be taken into consideration by Ong and the CC and the decision to be made must be also be based on the delegates' decision.
Asked whether Ong should stay on as the president as the party constitution did not require him to step down even though he is no longer enjoyed the majority support of the delegates, he said: "As a responsible president and a person of principle he (Ong) knows what to do."
Ong had before the EGM said he would resign if he failed to get the majority support of the delegates.
In the party election last year, Kong garnered 1,798 votes in the vice-presidential race, followed by Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (1,725), Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen (1,659) and Tan Kok Hong (1,329).
So far, only Kong and Ng had spoken up regarding the outcome of the EGM.
It was reported that Ng, who is the only woman vice-president, had said the decision of the delegates should be respected and it was time for the four veeps to sit down and discuss about the future of the party, including the candidacy for the president and deputy president's posts.
Meanwhile, party secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng said the CC meeting on Thursday would discuss whether Ong should stay on as president or not.
"The CC will analyse the outcome of the EGM and will seriously discuss at great length all possible avenues and explore all options available to come out with the best solution in the interest of the Chinese community.
"The majority of the CC members have earlier advised the president not to make any decision irrespective of the outcome of the EGM until the president refers to the committee, to which he has agreed," he said.
Wong also urged party leaders to stop making speculations on the matter until the committee deliberates on it.
To a question, he said the CC would decide whether to accept or reject if Ong tendered his resignation in the meeting.

When Anita's sister called me last week trying to get hold of Anita's present address, I didn't give it to her although I knew the address. I just buat bodoh (read: be myself... :)) and pretended I knew nothing about whatever that was going on between them.
I mentioned that Anita did call me to seek help regarding her identity card; and that I'd inform Anita (about her sister trying to look for her) the next time she calls. Anita's sister however didn't want me to tell Anita about her call. Even if I really knew nothing about the goings-on between them, I would have suspected something amiss. I mean, why wouldn't she want Anita to find out that she tried to call me to find out Anita's whereabouts?
Anyway, based on the text messages the sister's "so-called" hubby had been sending to Anita (which Anita did not respond to), it was very unlikely that the sister wanted to patch things up. The way I see it, things may get even worse for Anita if her evil sister and the guy get their hands on Anita and her baby.
For the moment, I will just let Anita and her baby stay with Kak Ana, at least until we can settle her identity card and son's birth cert problems. Kak Ana can in the meantime try to educate Anita and maybe one fine day when Anita is capable of being more independent, she can live on her own if she wants to.
Actually there was another "jejak kasih" call the week before, which I'm not really sure if it was really a "genuine" intention to patch things up, or another "udang di sebalik batu" intention.
No, not another of Anita's sister trying to look for her. This one came from Zana's sister. Those of you who had been following my blog earlier may remember my postings on The Problematic Young Woman.
Zana was the first of the out-of-wedlock pregnancy cases that I had to send to shelter homes. I sent Zana to KL in 2006 before she was due to deliver. She delivered a pair of twins just before Raya in 2006 and due to her own attitude, she couldn't get along with the other occupants of the shelter home. After a few months, she was ready to head back home to her own family. Both Kak Hawa and myself were made to believe that her family was ready to accept her at home.
Then on the very day that I went to fetch her, she got a call from her sister telling her not to come home as her father was very furious with her. And I only got the news when I got to the home. Lucky thing I had another function to attend to in KL earlier in the day, so my trip to KL wasn't really a waste of time.
Kak Hawa and I then agreed that while Kak Hawa was to try talk some sense into Zana, I would try to speak to her family, hoping for them to reconcile.
But my attempts to get in touch with the family were futile. Zana's younger sisters did not even dare answer my calls and text messages. I finally did get a text message from a different number...
"Assalamualaikum. Saya family Zana. Maaf ye, Zana dah takde tempat dalam family kami. Dah 2 kali dia buat kerja bodoh tanpa fikirkan kami.
To me the message was to tell me not to pester them further. So yes, I stopped at that.
Since then, one of Zana's twins died, and Zana had moved out of the shelter home, initially with her son, but later on Kak Hawa went to get the baby from her as Zana had not been giving the much needed attention to the baby.
Zana had been contacting the shelter home from time to time, but except for once, she never even bothered to visit her baby; despite saying time and again that she wanted to take the baby back. The boy is now already 3 years old.
Back to the recent "jejak kasih" call, it was a totally unexpected call.
"Ni Kak Afizah ke?"
"Ya saya. Siapa ni?"
"Saya ni adik *Zana*. Akak ada tak nombor telefon terbaru dia? Kami dah terputus hubunganlah dengan dia."
Terputus hubungan, did she say? I thought they were the ones who didn't want to have anything to do with Zana anymore?
Truth is, I too had not been able to get in touch with Zana. She's no longer using the last number I had. I didn't ask Zana's sister why she wanted to get in touch with Zana, but I told her that her best bet would be to get in touch with Kak Hawa at the shelter home since Zana's son still says there and Zana would still from time to time call the people there. So I gave her Kak Hawa's phone number.
The next day I called up Kak Hawa to find out. Yes, Zana's sister did call her but like me, Kak Hawa too was not able to give her Zana's contact number. You see, although Zana does call the shelter home from time to time, almost every call came from a different number. Whenever her credit runs out, instead of topping up, she'd get herself a new prepaid number. And sometimes she'd call using a friend's phone.
The only thing we can do now is to inform Zana the next time she calls, about her sister wanting to get in touch with her. And it will be up to Zana if she wants to call her sister back.
Why did the sister want to get hold of Zana? Has it anything to do with Zana's older daughter who is being taken care of by Zana's parents? Do they really want to patch things up? Has Zana's garang father forgiven her?
Hard to tell now that I myself am not able to get hold of Zana...

Meskipun Bagan Pinang melunaskan kekontangan Umno-BN, pemerhati politik bersetuju kemenangan Isa Samad memudaratkan imej Umno, dan merencat reformasi lanskap politik negara.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad feels, both MCA President Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat and his former deputy Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek must take the cue from the outcome of the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) yesterday, and resign.
Mahathir said MCA must choose a neutral candidate to regain the confidence of the grassroots and strengthen the party.
"From a moral aspect, both must relinquish their posts. MCA must pick a leader who is not tainted so that he can gain the support of everyone. Then MCA can be united under one leadership.
"It is clear that both the MCA leaders had lost. So, they must reorganize and look for a new leader. Members of MCA are not happy with their leadership and that is the reason why they rejected both of them," he said when met at a Hari Raya celebration hosted by the Cempaka Umno branch here tonight.
Commenting on the newly formed Makkal Sakti Malaysia party that was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday, Mahathir said he welcomed the formation of the party.
"I feel the time has come for us to accept this Indian party into Barisan Nasional since MIC's influence has dropped," he said.
He also reiterated his call for MIC President Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu to resign.
"I ask Samy Vellu to resign as well. If he resigned, MIC will be given a new lease of life," he said.

Korean pop star Rain think that it's a cool to name his new boyband as MBLAQ, which means Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality… which must be the weirdest group name I've ever heard.
The acronym doesn't sound as bad, but it's absolutely bizarre when they tried to justify what it means. Perhaps I'm too old to understand what the younger generations are thinking; the teenage fangirls might think that it's a wonderfully cool name. (seriously?)
The boys are going to be popular as long as their performance aren't too bad; K-pop world is dominated by pop groups in the past couple of years, and there's room for a few more good looking guys or girls.
And having a famous boss like Rain certainly helps.
