Am i really a loony?

Am i really a loony?

Am i really a loony?

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 08:00 AM PST

Why i choose this title as this entry? Let me give you a brief executive summary. On 1118, one of my fellow blog follower wrote a peom about his blogger friends which included me. (Thanks dude for writing this so called "Humorous" peom. I don't know whether you have difficulty to choose the English word or you done this on purpose. Anyway, only you yourself know the answer)... So my fellow reader, the person actually called me a Loony in his peom. What is Loony in case you don't know

Next let me share with you the poem

From the peom, i could draw out a scientific equation i.e.

Gym addict + (Starbucks or Bad Ass Coffee - Oldtown) + Travel + Photography = Loony

How you look @ this formular?
  1. Are you gym addict whom go to gym everyday... YES or NO?
  2. Do you pro American coffee place and anti Oldtown... YES or NO?
  3. Do you like to travel and photography... YES or NO?
If you answer YES to the three questions above... you definitely will be labelled as a Loony. Of course this is not according to the Webster Dictionary, Oxford Dictionary or Dictionary.com... this is solely base on a single person perspective.

Anyway, please don't ask me why my fellow blogger follower called me a Loony. I'm not very upset, i was surprised, shocked and unhappy... coz this follower of mine hardly know me in person, how could he judge a person with all his own theory and labelled me as a Loony.

Hmmm... Let me guess?
  1. Maybe He is jealous that i have lifestyle which mentioned above. (most likely)
  2. Maybe He could not accept other different lifestyle other than his own boring life... ;p
  3. Maybe He did not understand what does Loony means and didn't wanna to Google or look up @ the dictionary... (i really have no idea why)
  4. Maybe He just wanna to use this opportunities to increase his blog traffic with making fun and calling others name. (is this most likely or definitely)
  5. Maybe Maybe Maybe ... errrrr So many maybe... I'm just tired to guess now. Maybe we should invite him to clarify why he called me Loony eh~ (Let's just stop guessing)
Anyway, Am i really a Loony?

Have We?

Wuan and Peter Tan at 1 Utama

Have you ever met someone and felt like you have known each other forever? Wuan and I did. We met in IRC. My first message to her was "a/s/l?" which is short for age/sex/location in IRCspeak. I was in Penang, she was in Kuala Lumpur. The computer, the monitor and the telephone line closed the gap of 370 km between us.

We discovered that we shared common interests. We also liked similar food. There was a familiar comfort and warmth in our conversations. We were like long lost friends reunited. We chatted late into the night, every night. We were inseparable. Our friendship soon developed into something more. I knew, I just knew, deep inside me, that she is the one for me.

HAVE WE?

I don't think
we have ever met
but inexplicably
our destinies entwined
reaching deep
irretrievably

in a past life perhaps
we were inextricable
I wonder
for we seem to have
an uncanny familiarity
of each other.

Police Pass Azmin Share Probe Documents To MACC

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is to continue with the investigation into the alleged ownership of RM2 million worth of shares by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Azmin Ali and his wife, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said Wednesday.

He said copies of the original documents and statements connected with the case had been handed to the MACC by the police.

"An investigation was conducted previously by the MACC. As such, the records, documents and statements given to us were handed back to the MACC yesterday for them to continue the probe," he told reporters at the police Deepavali open house, here.

Anuar Shaari, a former secretary to PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, yesterday lodged a police report on the alleged ownership of shares by Azmin and his wife.

Asked to comment on claims that the police had used excessive force in a recent shooting in Klang where five suspected robbers were shot dead, Musa said the police also had the fundamental right to self-defence.

He said those who questioned police action should consider whether they wanted to support those who upheld the law or backed criminals.

"The duty of the police is to protect the people. We do not protect criminals," he said.

He said the police did not act indiscriminately but considered public order and shot criminals as the last resort.

"If they (criminals) become aggressive, we are forced to act. They should surrender if they do not want to die. We do not want our personnel to be shot first," he said.

Meanwhile, Musa appealed for assistance from anyone who had information on the position of private investigator P. Balasubramaniam.

The authorities, including the Immigration Department, constantly monitored the movement of individuals they were looking for at every entry-exit point of the country, he said when asked to comment on a news portal report that Balasubramaniam was back in the country after having "disappeared" since July last year.

Balasubramaniam and his family reportedly went abroad for fear of their safety after he had made a statutory declaration in relation to the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu.

The police also want to record a statement from the private investigator over a break-in at his house in Taman Pelangi, Rawang, last year.

Era Najib Altantuya : Kerajaan Tahu Saya Dimana - Bala

Era Najib Altantuya : ADUN Sngor Gesa Henti Hantar Pelajar Ke BTN

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 06:39 AM PST

Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri Selangor (ADUN) mengesa kerajaan negeri supaya menghentikan penghantaran pelajar institusi pengajian tinggi swasta miliknya ke program anjuran Biro Tata Negara (BTN) Jabatan Perdana Menteri.

-TVS

Perak graft trial: Duty to fight corruption

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 05:59 AM PST

IPOH: The star prosecution witness in the trial of two former PKR state executive council (exco) members told the Sessions Court that he has a responsibility to help fight misuse of power, misconduct and graft.

When re-examined by the head of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) prosecution unit, Datuk Abdul Razak Musa, agent provocateur Mohamad Imran Abdullah denied that he was after the monetary gains for helping the Commission.

"It is not true that I want the Commission's money," he told Sessions judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh on Wednesday.

Mohamad Imran, 34, further testified that he earns enough as a car salesman to support his family.

This drew sniggers and snide remarks from the five accused in the dock -- former PKR state exco members Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, 57, and Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi, 52, two former Perak Tengah district councillors Zul Hassan, 45, and Usaili Alias, 56; businessman Fairul Azrim Ismail, 31.

The charge pertains to their helping Imran obtain a multimillion-ringgit development project in Seri Iskandar.

Mohamad Imran also told the court that he had helped the Commission in six cases since 2007 but only three were successful.

"Some of the cases just involved confirming tip-offs," he said.

Earlier, when cross-examined by defence lawyer Surjan Singh, Mohamad Imran said he could produce the logbook detailing his involvement with the Commission but he would need to get its clearance before revealing it in court.

"Off-hand, I cannot remember the details of each and every case that I was involved in," he said.

Surjan retorted that the court has higher authority than the Commission in this instance.

This made Abdul Razak complain about Surjan's statement and he wanted the court to remind him to be professional.

Abdul Razak later told the court that the details of Mohamad Imran's logbook could not be revealed as some information involved ongoing cases.

When questioned by Surjan earlier, Mohamad Imran said sometimes before the start of the trial, he would go through the statements he gave to the Commission regarding this case.

"That is why I can remember its details now," he said.

The clarity of the video recording of what transpired in Jamaluddin's office in the State Secretariat building here on Aug 14 2008 became a bone of contention by the defence lawyers during Wednesday's hearing.

Surjan Singh claimed that the quality of the recording shown in Wednesday's trial was so much better compared with the one shown to the defence during cross-examination.

"It has given the prosecution an unfair advantage," he said.

Hearing continues Thursday.

Era Najib Altantuya : Gaddafi Berdakwah Kepada 200 Wanita Itali

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 06:21 AM PST

Gaddafi kemudian menyampaikan ceramah tentang Islam. berusaha keras meyakinkan para tamunya bahawa Islam tidak meremehkan kaum wanita seperti disangkakan banyak orang.

Ia kemudian mengajurkan agar mereka menjadi Muslimah. Sekitar dua jam berikutnya, para wanita tersebut pergi sambil memendam rasa hairan.

Namun, mereka masing-masing dihadiahkan 50 euro (RM302) dan senaskah al-Qur'an.

OIL IS STATES' RIGHT

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 05:59 AM PST

OIL and gas. Is not this a favourite topic, especially during elections? Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu should get more than the five percent royalty accorded to them by Petronas. This latest statement, from a seasoned politician, may not count for anything, but am sure it will provoke some thinking at least at the kedai kopi... am one who is very hopeful of the slogan 1Malaysia... bla bla bla.

KU LI: ALL STATES HAVE A RIGHT TO OIL ROYALTY

(The Star) - Former Finance Minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has weighed in on the oil royalty debate, saying that all oil-producing states including Kelantan had a right to oil royalty.

Razaleigh's view clearly opposed that of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, who had insisted on Tuesday that Kelantan had no right to ask for oil royalty as no petroleum was produced in the state's waters within three nautical miles of the coastal line.

"It is a constitutional right of the people, whether is it found on shore or off shore. I think the agreement that was signed between the states and Petronas assures that the states where oil is found, whether on shore or off shore, will benefit from such a find," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Wednesday.

The Federal Government had labelled the oil payout to Kelantan as a "goodwill payment," which the Opposition objected to, saying that money was a right and not a goodwill payment.

"There is no such thing as wang ehsan (goodwill payment) because oil is the right of the people and it's not for the Federal Government to distribute as a largess.

"The Government can distribute such funds from the revenue collected from taxes and that is its prerogative; but when it comes to this, it is the right of the people.

"That's why I feel inclined to say my piece because I was involved from the beginning and I know the intention of why we had the agreement with the states," he said.

Razaleigh, who was Finance Minister and Petronas chairman when the Petroleum Development Act 1974 came into force, held a short discussion with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub, PKR strategic director Tian Chua and election director Saifuddin Nasution on the issue at the MPs' lounge.

Razaleigh said they wanted to form a caucus on the matter and wanted him to lead it, to which he said he would consider it.

"I will be following the development to see if I can contribute, because after all I was involved in the oil business, starting with formation of Petronas and negotiation with the states and the drafting of the laws," he noted. THE STAR

UPDATED 5PM The mother of four who consumed weedkiller after her brother was killed in a police shootout died this afternoon.

Earlier, when Seetha was in a critical condition, Human Rights Party leader P Uthayakumar had warned that if Seetha died, he would take her coffin to Parliament as a mark of protest against what he described as the 'summary execution' of Indian Malaysians suspected to be involved in criminal activities.

Malaysiakini was told by P Uthayakumar that Seetha died at 3.05pm at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang. This morning at the Dewan Rakyat, an emergency motion by DAP MP Kulasegaran to debate the shooting was rejected by deputy speaker Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaffar, saying it was not an urgent matter.

How Low Can He Go?

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 04:53 AM PST

President Obama, who nearly prostrated himself before the king of Saudi Arabia last April, has once again bowed low to a monarch — this time, to the emperor of Japan. What to make of this obsequious body language? After the presidential frame went perpendicular before the Saudi royal, the White House at first denied that the president had bowed. He was merely leaning over, Robert Gibbs explained, because the president was "taller than the king." That might make sense — to anyone who had not seen the video. President Obama bent so far over that he was at eye level with the king's hips.

The president's defenders suggested that he was merely being polite, or simply following protocol. Politeness consists in treating others with respect and taking care not to hurt their feelings. But a bow, well, that's a different matter. Last week the president did it again, bowing from the waist before Japan's Emperor Akihito. So what might have seemed a rookie mistake is now looking deliberate.

Protocol is not the explanation. While there have been exceptions, American presidents have not traditionally bowed to royalty. Nor have American diplomats or citizens of any stripe. Kings and queens of England have visited America and been quite satisfied to receive a dignified handshake from Americans high and low. President Roosevelt famously served Great Britain's King George VI and Queen Elizabeth hot dogs at his Hyde Park home.

When it comes to body language, it's best to stick to your own culture and traditions. A too eager attempt to ingratiate by adopting others' customs can backfire. According to one expert on Asia consulted by ABC's Jake Tapper, Obama's low bow caused considerable consternation in Japan. Apparently, a proper Japanese bow under the circumstances would have been executed with hands at the sides, and a slight tilt from the waist. "The bow as he performed it did not just display weakness in Red State terms, but evoked weakness in Japanese terms. . . . The last thing the Japanese want or need is a weak-looking American president and, again, in all ways, he unintentionally played that part."

President Obama makes much of his international pedigree, the latest iteration being the boast that he is the "first Pacific president" — whatever that means. But when he stoops to royalty this way, he invites the question: How American does he feel?Don't hyperventilate. Of course there is no one way for Americans to think or feel. But some American attitudes are, or used to be, woven deeply into our character. Most Americans have a visceral distaste, dating back to our founding, for truckling to royalty. Article One, Section 9 of the Constitution states: "No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: — And no person holding any office of profit or trust under them shall, without the consent of Congress, accept any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state." Kings and emperors have been treated with courtesy of course, but to bow is —yes, I'll say it — un-American.

Here, let the New York Times explain it. In 1994, the Times gently rebuked President Clinton for "almost" bowing to the Japanese emperor. "It wasn't a bow, exactly," the editorial chided, "but Mr. Clinton came close. He inclined his head and shoulders forward, he pressed his hands together. It lasted no longer than a snapshot, but the image on the South Lawn was indelible: an obsequent President, and the Emperor of Japan. Canadians still bow to England's Queen. So do Australians. Americans shake hands. If not to stand eye-to-eye with royalty, what else were 1776 and all that about?"

President Obama's bows, coupled with his global apology tours, suggest something other than politeness. President Obama has repeatedly reminded us that he thinks we have been arrogant and high-handed in our dealings with other nations. By bowing and scraping, he intends to drop us down a peg or two. The president of the United States really did intend to show obeisance to the king of Saudi Arabia and to defer to the emperor of Japan. He appears to have done so not to flatter those nations, but only to diminish his own. Mona Charen in the National Review

Era Najib Altantuya : Penduduk S.Alam Bantah JAIS Batalkan Tauliah Khalid Samad

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 05:23 AM PST

"Berikanlah hitam putih, jangan beri bermacam-macam alasan seperti tapisan keselamatan."

Setelah Khalid meminta penjelasan dalam suratnya hujung September lalu, polis Selangor berkata semakan polis Bukit Aman mendapati beliau mempunyai "rekod jenayah".

-malaysiakini

Penduduk Shah Alam Serah Memorandum Bantah Tauliah Khalid Samad Di Batal

-TVS

Era Najib Altantuya : Rasuah, Kit Siang Desak Ahmad Said Letak Jawatan

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 05:17 AM PST

Penasihat DAP, Lim Kit Siang mendesak Ketua Pengarah Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), Datuk Seri ahmad Said Hamdan kerana kedudukan Malaysia dalam Indeks Persepsi Rasuah (CPI) jatuh mendadak.

-TVS

Era Najib Altantuya : Paip Air Bocor Punca Bkt Antarabangsa Runtuh

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 05:13 AM PST

Era Najib Altantuya : Karpal Sahut Cabaran Nazri Untuk Dakwa VK Lingam

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 04:24 AM PST

Pengerusi DAP Karpal Singh sedia menawarkan khidmat sukarelanya mendakwa tokoh kontroversi dalam isu 'klip video Lingam', Datuk V. K. Lingam sekiranya Peguam Negara (AG) Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail membenarkan beliau berbuat demikian.

Rain, How Hate And Love You At The Same Time

Posted: 18 Nov 2009 03:06 AM PST

It has been so long ago since I last played in the rain, get soaked to the skin, shiver in the cold, my hair clinging limply to my scalp, and still enjoy it. The rain and I are not good friends now. I try to avoid it as much as possible. The loss of sensation changed all that. Raindrops pelting my numb skin is a not pleasant feeling anymore. It feels hot. Cold is hot. Hot is hot. The wires are all messed up inside me.

The cold not only makes me shiver. My muscles will tense up. Shortly after, the spasms will hit with a vengenace. My limbs will be involuntarily pulled in ways unimaginable. The agony of cramped muscles is indescribable. The cold then seeps into me and linger there, for a long time. The shivers will not go away even when I am buried under layers of blankets; the spasms the same. The rain, together with the cold, I now avoid like the plague.

The weather has been exceptionally cold the past three days. The air is laden with moisture that makes breathing laborious. Everything is damp. Everything is stone cold. I dislike this rainy season. But when it was hot and dry, I had wished for nothing but for the sky to pour. I needed the moisture. I needed the hydration. I am not fickle. My body just do not adapt to extreme weathers well. For now, I wish for it stop raining for a while, for the sun to come out tomorrow. God knows I need sunshine to drive away this gloom that came with the monsoon. Please?
