remember about a month ago how the home ministry flip flop on the permit's decision?
on 14 dec, the herald's case of the use of the word 'allah' was heard in the high court. herald's lawyer argue, among other things, that to ban herald from using the word 'allah' is unconstitutional.
indeed. why should one religion monopolise a or worst, copyright a word that everyone can use. of course you have heard it before, the govt. argued that if herald use 'allah', it might confuse the muslim… and with that, you have heard me repeating numerous times that this shows the govt does not have faith in their own fellow muslim.
now i at the hearing, we heard the lawyer representing the govt saying:
see, the confusion again?… and add in 'religious tnesion'!! whoa! just because the catholic church wants to use 'allah' which does not belongs to the muslim in malaysia, it will create racial tension? who is the one who is going to start the racial tension? your muslim breathren whom you have so little faith of them? see, again an insult to the muslim!
anyway, it seemes that the high court will come out with its decision only on 30 dec. hmm… i hope it will be a good new year's gift – IF the court rules in favour of the catholic church. to all christians, and those who support the catholic church's stand, let's pray for the judge's wise decision to allow the cathlic church the use of the word 'allah'.

About a few months ago Miki has started to put on a pair of pants on his own and wear his shoes – although sometimes on the wrong feet- SUCCESSFULLY all by himself! Just like a big big boy already. With the achievements of those milestones, his Daddy and I decided that Miki must be taken to the theaters to watch a movie.
Can you see the relation between getting himself dressed and a movie? Neither can I. But what the heck.
So we bought tickets to see Princess and The Frog, a Walt Disney animation based on the Grimm brother's fairy tales 'The Frog Prince at GSC IOI Mall on Sunday.
I dunno Mummy, all these romantic movies, they dont really go with my hairstyle..
Holding on to the fact that yours truly has been a very experienced Mom of about six hundred and eighty days, I trusted my instinct that if we were to keep children quiet for sometime they must be bribed with food!
Actually it is not my instinct. I lied. That is fact based on a police's study on CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR about how kidnappers keep their kidnapped children shut up. USE FOOD. Yeah, criminals are better moms than me, I know! I know! YOU HAPPY???
So I bought a tub of popcorn, a tank of drinks, a huge blob of lollipop (like alang-alang rosakkan minda apa kata rosakkan gigi sekali?), a bag of Cheezel and well this is an all time must-have – A CUPPA DADONG aka sweet corn.
Enjoying his lollipop…
And hip hip hooray!! My criminal-like rocket-science formulated plan worked!! Miki kept his mouth shut around the lollipop, his eyes on the screen FOR 10 MINUTES! Right after the advertisements end, he took Bobo strolling up and down the aisle!
Police's study?! What was I thinking? I knew I should have followed Nanny Fine.
We sat at the last row on a couple's seat thinking Miki wouldn't be surrounded by and disturbed too many people. During the first few minutes he really did keep his attention glued on the screen. He even laughed at the funny parts and feasting on the goodies. Azman and I were mighty pleased.
But shortly after that we noticed that the little boy of about 4-5 years old who sat in front of us was munching popcorn while jumping up and down on the aisle. And we were mighty worried!
This was bad! If Miki saw this he was gonna immediately appoint that boy as his Panggung Wayang Guru and copy his acts every single bit and THAT WAS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID!
The two of them giggled happily. Running up and down the aisle for about a hundred times. Laughed at each other silly. Rolled on the carperted floor and when they were tired they just lay on their backs with their tiny heads on the higher steps like they were sunbathing on the beach. Miki, his new Guru and Bobo. Three little naughty boys having fun while Tiana was busy working on her restaurant with Prince Naveen.
Can you imagine Miki ran down the steps of the aisle until the most front row and I completely lost him in the darkness. We kept chasing him and bringing him back up but once Miki was going so fast I chased him ACROSS THE SCREEN!!! Lucky the screen was high (or was it me chasing my hyper 89cm tall kid while crawling on all four faster than an alligator?) else all the people in theater would have seen two additional actors in the movie looking very non-jazzy!
Oh by the way, I hope everything would turned out well for Tiana because ya know em men, once a playa, no ring on the finger can stop em from being a playa..
So okay kiddo! Hope you have enjoyed watching the trailers before the movie. Don't worry, Mummy will take you here again, promise!! AFTER TEN YEARS!!!

I have 7 wishes for Christmas and i took some time i dont have to blog this so happy reading! I'll be touching on World Peace. Environment. Knowledge Network. Governance. Human Values. Media & God and i hope they make sense to you
1. All the Muslims in the world to unite under 1 cause. The Catholic church & thousands of protestant denominations in the world to unite under 1 cause. And the Jews to also unite. These 3 parties to sit down on 1 table and realize that they are all worshiping 1 God - i mean come on, its not as simple as ABC but Moses, Jesus & Muhammad reports to the same boss, so how difficult issit to understand that we - Muslim or Christians or Jews - we're all brothers & sisters in 1 God. Or are we just fucking retards? So my first wish is for these 3 religions to make peace & stop firing rockets & think of building nukes to kill each other.
2. Preservation of the environment. I wish that worldly events, such as "Earth Day", are further encouraged and amplified to bring awareness and education to the human race. So smokers realize that the ciggie butts they litter gets swept into the drain, drain flows in the to river, river flows into the sea - the place you wanna be on a vacation. So ignorant Malaysians don't ask for a plastic bag just to store a stick of chewing gum and then later throw it out their car windows. So the Chinese wont continue to save money & buy hair moose. So the fucking factory owners do not spill waiste into the rivers to save money and now i cant fucking swim in the river that runs by our country house.
3. I wish for the every success of the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) policy. So the kids who run on the streets of Chow Kit because their mums are fucking men at home for money, so the kids in Africa who eats sand from starvation, so the kids in the slumps of India - who will never get their hands on a textbook - can see and feel and learn from the world. From the abundance of information on the net. From people in the US, UK, China, India, Malaysia and every other country in this world within a click on their laptops.
4. I wish for transparency. For governing administrations to practice full democracy and transparency in governing. So citizens dont fall from 16 floors of a building for no reason. So greedy Chinese politicians do not get away with billions in cash for building a port. So talented people do not have to be in fugitive because they are upholding the rights of their fellow countrymen. So criminals do not become leaders of countries. So race representatives do not fight for power everyday and forget their original cause. So people representative do not get away with building balinese mansions using the citizens money. So judiciary manipulators do not get away by just saying korek korek korek. And the only way we can achieve this is to have all the key pillars of administration - the executives, the judiciary, they auditors, the monarchy & the arm forces - to be independent of each other.
5. I wish that the human race realizes the worldly agendas that are plagueing them. That are immensely causing the deterioration of human values. Example 1. The persistent struggle to over-empower women. I believe in equal rights for women. But i do not believe is the over-selling of "girl power" to the extent of women neglecting their human duties of providing offsprings, just because they wanna be as capable as men. Example 2. The constant endorsement of homo-sexuals - Prince, Elton John, Adam Lambert - to persuade the human race to go against the sexual nature of humans. Examples 3. The pervalent endorsement of marriage splits / divorces. An American celebrity gets remarried at an average of 3 times in their lifetime. And that actually sounds pretty conservative.
6. I wish that the human race will wake up from their state of denial and hypnotism and realize that many of the celebrities they are adoring through the media (Madona for example) are singing praises to Lucifer and they are singing along to it. And they should pity the celebrities they adore because they are just as well victims, puppets. The next 10 times you sing along to a pop song, try and digest the lyrics and see if you find anything perculiar. If you're lazy, just go watch the Madona video clip - the one where she's in full black and she turns into a black dove & black dog. Watch the controversial Lady Gaga video clips. My friend, who studies religion, was just telling me that "Hollywood" in the Pharoan times, is a magical stick that is used to hypnotize people. Now try and put that in the "Hollywood" context. Here, i wish that there can be some form of 'human value' auditing, so our kids do not grow up to be whores & druggies & satan worshipers.
7. I wish that the world embraces God. For those who still doubt, look at yourself in the mirror. Think about every cell that runs in your body, how every organ works with every organ in your body. Think about sex - how good that feels. Look at the trees. Look at the night & day, the earth & water - how they are perfectly in harmony. Look at the flora and the fauna - the millions of species discovered & yet to be discovered. Think about all the layers of earth & layers of air. Think about re-generation. Think about growing up. Think about the human brain. Think about your 5 senses.
YOU SERIOUSLY THINK ALL THAT JUST EXISTED FROM A FUCKING EXPLOSION?!?!
Now think about the human brain - fucking think about how smart and intelligent you are. Think about your analytical skills - how you react and make decisions in crucial situations. Think about your emotions, your emphaty. Think about the conscience in you, like an angel that reminds you that its not right, when you're stealing or cheating or doing something wrong.
YOU SERIOUSLY THINK ALL THAT CAME FROM MONKEYS?!?!?
Believe in God.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim menjadi Ahli Parlimen menerusi pilihan raya kecil Permatang Pauh.
Selepas setahun semua pihak terlupa. BN gagal mengambil langkah berwaspada. PR pula gagal dalam menyuntik semangat tahun 2009.
BN terselamat manakala PR keciciran peluang.
Beliau memberikan beberapa senario.

Taken from the article 'No way Manohara is returning, says Daisy' in Malay Mail Online:
Tengku Fakhry had always maintained that money was not the issue and that it was about his dignity and reputation.
He said he was forced to initiate legal proceedings to clear his name as the allegations of physical and sexual abuse were baseless and meant to disparage him in the eyes of the members of the royalty, the government and the public.
In the meantime, Rosmah said she had no time to entertain the many bad and wild allegations hurled against her by hostile parties. Obviously, these allegations are related to none other than the on-going controversy involving the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu three years ago.

Itulah serba sedikit, kisah masyarakat Seri Setia.

So you mean that PAS cannot compromise on its position on hudud law and the Islamic state? Nik Aziz: How can we compromise? This is our ibadat (religious obligation). If we reject the meaning of Islam, we are rejecting our ibadat. God created man to follow ibadat, which is not restricted to just praying. No mercy: The militants bury Ibrahim in the ground in a village south-west of lawless Mogadishu, Somalia. What many Non Muslims do not understand is that it will start infringing on their rights. Even without hudud it is done by Muslim bureaucrats, such as body snatching, conversion of minors, confiscation of property and so many other things. The reality is in the image above.
See more images here: Islamic militants stone man to death for adultery in Somalia as villagers are forced to watch. You would not want your own enemy to experience this barbarity! So do not be deceived by sweet platitudes in moments of your own desperation, there are lesser alternatives apart from PAS and BN. Hudud is not a romantic idea as can be seen above, not as an ideal to wipe out corruption and having fair play. Even without hudud the NEP discriminates, it will be worst under Sharia. Under Islamic law Non Muslims will be Dhimmis, stay with the DAP or the PKR, not the rest.
Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat: It doesn't matter whether they are young or old. They are not exposed to Islam. They are exposed to democracy, socialism, nationalism and communism but not to Islam... They are influenced by the western stereotype of Islam - that it is about terrorism, that it does not being development and is backward. They have no alternative (to this kind of thinking).
But exposure is increasing. We need to create more awareness for youths through seminars and camps. (We need to expose them to Islam because) the world was not made by a person. It was made by God. Yes, right, do not be taken up with religious leaders like old Nik, take the Iranian thugocracy as an example of what can go wrong. In full from Malaysiakini

Not only in Britain. Saudi funded Islamic academies in the US teach the same intolerance and hatred toward Christians and Jews. In our own countries.
It is alway the case of not read in the correct Arabic, or the infamous and abused word, " out of context", see the Saudi bitch squirming and obfuscating, after calling the Jews and Christians as monkeys and pigs, when faced up front and questioned. Oh yes, she lies with a straight face about the Saudi platitudes of hate. It is amazing she talks about tolerance...and she is a Saudi!!!!!!

The Pathologisation of Muslims As Everything That is Wrong With Europe
A long extract by someone named Fess: I'm sure Farish didn't intend to open up a debate about the middle east and all that entails, and I've certainly avoided that subject thus far, but as Ida brings it up, ostensibly to have a, all too predictable poke at the jews, I consider myself granted license to respond. Take this particulal nugget: "If the word muslims were to be replaced with jews (note the lower cases), the Press Complains Comission will be very busy."
If if if if. Well if Jews were blowing up buses and underground stations, flying planes into skyscrapers, butchering fellow soldiers etc etc then I think it's accurate to say that the press would report such stories with as much, if not more, gusto as they do the bad news Muslim stories. Stop shooting the messenger.
If British Muslims don't want the press to cover such stories then the best advice I can give them is to bring about the level of change in their communities necessary to deny the oxygen which allows such extremism to flourish.
Jews don't get this sort of press in Europe because there doesn't exist any pattern of Jews behaving like this in Europe. If Muslims are so affronted by the press coverage then the rational advice anyone would offer them is to, and I know this is a real choker, do as the Jews do, which is to say do as practically every other religion and ethnicity does. Be citizens, identify yourself with the country you live in, WITHOUT QUALIFICATION, educate your children to accept as equals, again without qualification, their classmates and other kids in the neighborhood and allow happen what happens to every other community which migrates to a new land, BECOME PART OF IT!!! Ida Bakar, another thing the US is a republic with strict constitutional separation between church and state. It isn't a "christian country" it is a republic where the majority of the population are christian.
As regards Gaza I think that is another front and although I'm greatly tempted to take you on about that I'll restrict my response to this: why no mention of the HAMAS rockets which targeted Israeli civilians exclusively? Why no mention of the fact that civilian martyrdom is both a tactic and a goal of the Palestinian leadership? I don't want to clog up this blog with link the the relevant footage, go look for yourself, but this is am incontrovertible fact! To paraphrase Golda Meir: The Israel Palestinian issue will be solved easily once Palestinian parents learn to love their children more than they hate the jews.
Ida conveniently mentions US interventions in Irag and Afghanistan but avoids the more troublesome US involvement in Bosnia. Troublesome for Ida because there was no motivation other than to save the Bosnian Muslims from the Serbians which goes a long way towards scuppering the notion that these represent christian wars against Muslims.
I note also that Ida states that Muslims contribute large number of doctors to the British Health Service. Do these Muslims arrive in the UK with their skills honed and offer their services? No, they don't. The Muslims in question, and quite righty too, take advantage of an educational system which is open to all. It doesn't, as is done in Malaysia to the non Malay (read non muslim) minorities, set a higher bar for Muslims to vault than it does for others. Doesn't this reveal a somewhat level playing field rather than expose some plot to hold the Muslims back? Which takes me to another point of Farish's which really does need taking on, head on:
"I sadly note that in all the years that I taught in Europe, I did not have a single Arab-Muslim student to supervise at Masters or Phd level. The stereotype has become a self-fulfilling prophesy." says Farish. Indeed.
Well Farish, is the situation really as you seek to imply? It seems you're rather having your cake and eating it too. You offer nothing to back up the conclusion you've drawn, and shared publicly here, other than the conclusion itself plus some dark hints at European racism. Why not offer something more than that? If you really believe that Arabs find themselves educationally discriminated against by European academic institutions, or European societies in general and given that your own academic achievements are, virtually without exception, European, by now, you must have a storehouse full of examples of this discrimination. Yet you offer nothing save your observation that you've "yet to have a single Arab-Muslim student to supervise at Masters or Phd level." Do you really expect anyone, except perhaps your students, to treat such a comment seriously? To draw the conclusion you seek to proffer?
There are myriad alternative conclusions to draw from the rather impoverished data you offer. I'll offer a couple, they might be right or they might be wrong, likely they're part of a causal matrix of contributing factors, but at least they offer a more enriched set of explanations, or part explanations, than does your own, rather pat, hand crafted one.
1) Arab parents are less interested in rather abstract fields like your own and prefer their children to acquire more traditional professional qualifications such as (thanks Ida Bakar for reminding me) Medicine or Engineering. As a Dubliner this makes sense to me given the amount of Arabs enrolled in the Dublin Royal College of Surgeons. It's possible there are a large, rather hidden, population of Arab students in UCD's or Trinity College's humanities departments but I've yet to hear of it.
2) The amount of book titles translated into Arabic, on an annual basis, is known to be notoriously low. The accounts I've read, and I admit I can't rule out completely a degree of exaggeration being used, is that there are more books translated into Spanish on an annual basis than have been translated into Arabic in the last hundred years or more. I don't know, and I won't pretend otherwise, why this should be the case but I do know that this isn't the fault of Europeans or Americans. (Farish, would you care to step up to the plate on this one? It seems you're not interested, or are perhaps otherwise occupied, in engaging in the hand to hand combat of the comments section but perhaps you might like to take this one on in a future article.)
Whatever the explanation it hasn't stopped Farish from completing a BA in Philosophy & Literature at the University of Sussex in 1989, before studying for an MA in Philosophy at the same University (University of Sussex) in 1990, then an MA in South-East Asian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, before completing his PhD at the University of Essex in 1997 in the field of governance and politics. Notice something here? Notice a pattern? I do and it's not a pattern which supports any argument which advances Farish's thesis: "The Pathologisation of Muslims As Everything That is Wrong With Europe"
Maybe we should be debating the Muslim world's, apparent, hostility towards the humanities (this is quite overt in Iran at the moment where the regime are threatening to shut down the humanities departments within their Universities completely). Why don't we have a chat about that? I don't know but my best guess is that such discourse offers Farish scant opportunity to imply that the Europe which educated him, and which equipped him with his formidable rhetorical tools, is run by a pack of racists and bigots.
I know that Farish's point was specifically made about Arabs. However I believe that having made it he could perhaps do this Arab demographic a great service by explaining how he managed to thrive in such academic environments. Maybe Farish was obstructed at every step he took. maybe his story is one of heroic triumph over adversity. A Muslim in a rather hostile "abroad." If that's so, I'm sure I speak for all his readers when I say, this then is a story we want to hear about. Then again maybe he didn't. Maybe his actual experience offers little by way of supporting narrative of racism in European educational institutions. Indeed maybe he found himself in vibrant and ecumenical educational environments where all you had to bring to succeed was your intelligence and a capacity for hard work.
In any case Farish dropped a rather big accusation disguised as a casual observation. So casual that perhaps it seems rather unsporting of me to treat it so seriously. I'm sorry if that's the impression but with so many other, and I contend, more compelling explanations than Farish's preferred one I think he should be glad of any invitation to support his own contention.

Kitten cuddling up next to Fei Por.
Wuan rescued a kitten from the Pandan Perdana market last Sunday. It was mewing incessantly near a garbage bin. It was scrawny, scruffy and looked so fragile. As we had to go out, we left her with Fei Por in the compound. Unfortunately, Fei Por was not interested in mothering over the kitten as she did with Cheeky. When we came back in the evening, the kitten was nowhere in sight. We searched around the neighbourhood for a couple of hours without success.
Close up shot of kitten.
This morning, Wuan found the kitten a few houses away. It had a dislocated shoulder. Its front right leg was dangling limply to the body. I do not know how Wuan did it but she managed to pop the shoulder back into the socket. She left for work after that. The kitten was confined alone in Cheeky's room for the whole day. We converted one bathroom for Cheeky to live in. We were not too sure how Cheeky would take to it as he can be rather aggresive at times. We though it was better to keep the two apart first.
Kitten sound asleep.
It was walking normally when we checked on him just now. It was as if nothing happened. It could even climb up the one step from Cheeky's room to the hallway. We are glad it is fine now. We still cannot make out its gender. We would love to adopt it ourselves but we cannot possibly look after another cat. We are going to take him to the vet this weekend to have it put up for adoption. Hopefully he will get a good home.

According to two witnesses, the assailant Berlusconi was reported to police, the night of the assault. No action has yet been taken to neutralize the threat.
The satirical newscast "Striscia la notizia" chain Canale 5, owned by Berlusconi's Mediaset group, has collected evidence "overwhelming" as the term used by the issuance of two brothers at the scene of the assault before Massimo Tartaglia, the attacker Berlusconi, accomplish his gesture.
"We have noticed an agitated person, who spoke to Berlusconi, who said he waited. It was a phrase undoubtedly threatening and there was no doubt he was mentally unbalanced, "say the two witnesses who Played on condition of anonymity.
Anticipating a threat to the President of the Council, they decided to inform a police patrol that was placed on the Duomo square, but in vain. "I said:" There is someone there who curse and insult ... "but I have not had time to finish my sentence when a policeman replied sarcastically:" call 113 " (editor's note: the phone number of the police in Italy), said one witness.
"I then said, laughing:" 113! " and added: "this is Italy!". If the police had been willing to controls, the assault could be avoided, "says he in the program labeled" populist "by a visitor who responded to the video. "The police are obliged not to leave their land line and two people were actually calling the emergency number 113," says he.

Coffee, tea, even decaf lowers diabetes risk -study
WASHINGTON (Dec 15, 2009): People who drink the most coffee and tea, even decaffeinated versions, can dramatically lower their risk of diabetes, researchers reported on Monday.
Their study does not answer why this might be but strengthens the findings of earlier studies showing the beverages may prevent type-2 diabetes.
"Every additional cup of coffee consumed in a day was associated with a 7% reduction in the excess risk of diabetes," Rachel Huxley of The University of Sydney in Australia and an international team of colleagues wrote in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
This meant that people who drank three to four cups a day had a 25% lower risk of developing diabetes than those who drank little or no tea or coffee.
Huxley's team did what is known as a meta-analysis, taking a look at smaller published studies to add up greater numbers of people to show patterns more clearly.
They looked at 18 different studies covering more than 450,000 people.
The trend was clear, but the reasons were not.
"Because most of the studies included in this review did not provide data on the effects of these beverages or their components on measures of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and insulin sensitivity, we cannot provide further evidence on the mechanisms involved," they wrote.
For instance, the research did not show whether people who drank more coffee were eating or drinking less unhealthy stuff.
"Our findings suggest that any protective effects of coffee and tea are unlikely to be solely effects of caffeine, but rather, as has been speculated previously, they likely involve a broader range of chemical constituents present in these beverages, such as magnesium, lignans, and chlorogenic acids," the researchers wrote, citing other studies.
Coffee has been shown to be a major source of antioxidants in the US diet. These compounds can prevent damage to cells.
The findings could be significant -- the International Diabetes Federation projects that by 2025, 380 million people worldwide could have type 2 diabetes, which is associated with overeating and a lack of exercise.
In North America, 10.2% of the adult population has diabetes and India alone has 50.8 million diabetics. Diabetes drugs are a multibillion dollar market but none has shown real use as a way to prevent the disease. - Reuters

Ok, finally I'm updating my journey of 2 weeks in Miri. Actually I was attending SALT program. What is SALT? Look at banner below here. It's a program by IMCS AP (International Movement of Catholic Students Asia Pacific) joint venture with MCSC (Malaysian Catholic Students' Council). Social teaching is part of Catholic teaching, if you want to know. This year, SALT is focus on the issues of the indigenous peoples (IPs) of Sarawak, particularly. Basically, we learned about the rights of the IPs and their NCR lands. But, we were more focus on the impact of Bakun dam on the IPs. (I'll talk about this more in part 2).
About 31 students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Myanmar were gathered at Indin Resort, Miri, Sarawak for 2 weeks. Staying together as a FAMILY.
This is SALT real definition.
31 students were ''crammed'' in this house for 2 weeks. Hehe.
Dr Andrew Aeria was our first speaker. He is UNIMAS lecturer major in Social Science. He gave lecture on the reality of Sarawak Society.
We were separated into several groups and gave our presentation and shared our knowledge with each other.
Fr Mike, he is an ex-priest, now full-time activist and consultant of TAHABAS (Jaringan Tanah Hak Adat Bangsa Asal Sarawak). If you think you have problem/land disputes, you can search for him. He will help you. HE HE. Ok, you can email to me and I'll forward you to him.
Then, we have our famous lawyer, NCR lawyer, Mr Alex Basah.
Another one famous lawyer, Mr Paul Raja. Both of them are famous dealing with land disputes. And once again, if you think you have land disputes, you can search for them. They are Baru Bian's best friend. Ha ha ha.
Actually, Mr Baru should be coming for lecture, but he's quite busy.
But I learned a lot about NCR lands from them. The laws, especially, we were not realised that we've been technically ''cheated'' by kera-jaan. Our definition and the kera-jaan definition of what is ''Tanah Adat'' is different. The traditional definition of NCR land has been gradually changing by our state government. Sigh. Tak habis-habis kena tipu dan diperbodohkan.
I want to tell something here, this SALT program is not a ''political'' thing. This is part of CATHOLIC social teaching to understand the marginalized, especially the IPs. I came to this program to understand the real agenda of the Bakun dam. DAMN THE DAM!
It's sad to say that, all these 12 dams project are all political-gained for ONE man (you know who), not for the PEOPLE.

Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w.
(Abu Dawud, Tarmidhi, Ibn Majah)

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 15 — The Health Minister's wife, Datin Seri Lee Su Loo, came to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today to give her statement over the gift of a RM600,000 car for her, allegedly from a company.
It is understood that Lee arrived at the MACC office at about 10am and left four hours later.
MACC director of investigations Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdull, when contacted, confirmed the matter but declined to elaborate.
A letter published on the Internet on Oct 14 alleged that Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai had given his wife a Toyota Alphard that cost almost RM600,000 as a birthday present in January.
According to the letter, the car was sponsored by a company which won tenders for the ministry's projects. — Bernama

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 — It was pointless for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to sing praises of independent Chinese schools if he's not backing it up with concrete action, DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang said today.
Lim told a press conference in Parliament that while Najib proudly declared the independently-financed schools as "national assets", he has not indicated the federal government's willingness to "institutionalise support" for them.
The Ipoh Timur MP also said Najib was silent when it comes to recognising the United Examination Certificate, the independent schools' version of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examinations used for government schools.
Najib made the statement at the Chong Hwa Independent High School's 90th anniversary dinner last night. It was given front page coverage by the Chinese press today.
"There was neither announcement of recognition of the Unified Examination Certificate which is recognised by reputable universities worldwide or concrete action..to institutionalise government support and funding for the 60 Chinese independent schools (nationwide)," commented Lim on Najib's statement.
"It will be most regrettable if all this is just for propaganda to score political points without any political will to translate them into government policies and practices," added the Ipoh Timur MP.
The opposition, especially the DAP, have long decried the lack of support by the government towards independent schools and many of them believe the reasons behind it are racist and political.
Independent Chinese schools on the other hand have been accused by the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) of being breeding grounds for the opposition but the government denies neglecting them.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 — Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has backtracked on its commitment to electoral reforms as the coalition of three parties tried to seal an agreement on a common policy framework.
The Malaysian Insider understands that the policy framework scheduled to be launched at the PR national convention this weekend will make no commitment to restore local elections, but will merely declare its intention to "strengthen local democracy."
Such a choice of words was made to appease party leaders who are critical of local government elections and to allow the coalition more options to handle the matter.
According to PR insiders familiar with the policy framework, opposition to local elections by party leaders is not new.
"Some party leaders believe that having local elections will make councillors dependent on the party machinery," said a PR official who spoke on condition on anonymity.
The opponents of local elections in the federal opposition are also concerned with the "racial composition in major towns", the administration centre of most local councils.
However, another PR leader denied that the coalition has dropped its commitment to restore the third vote arguing that the framework is merely a blueprint on how PR should move forward and details of policy implementations are not necessary at this point.
"Basically it is a commitment on issues by the three parties, once it has been endorsed, we will come out with the mechanism, on how to handle them," a PR leader told The Malaysian Insider.
"There is no question of our commitment to local elections... it is a matter of semantics, it is about how we are saying it," he added.
Since the suspension of local elections in the 1960s, councillors are appointed directly by the state government and this has since turned into a political reward for ruling party officials.
The restoration of local elections is one of the demands made by electoral reforms coalition, Bersih, which PR parties are part of.
In November 2007, the group organised the largest street demonstration in the city in a decade, mobilising some 60,000 protesters to demand for free and fair elections.
The coalition's effort in mobilising support contributed to Barisan Nasional's (BN) worst electoral performance in Election 2008, which was held just four months later.

I HAVE always been fascinated with Mount Kinabalu, the highest peak in the South East Asia region. The picture below is but one of those I really appreciate. It is taken during sunset and it lasted for only a couple of seconds at the most. After getting its World Heritage status some years back, now it entered into the Guinness book. I hope the government will do its utmost best to preserve it. To my people, Kinabalu is sacred. After all, legends have it that our souls will eventually go up Mount Kinabalu. Home of my soul...
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's Mount Kinabalu has made it into the Guinness World Records after being certified as having the world's highest via ferrata or "mountain top trail."
On Tuesday, Sabah Parks deputy director Dr Jamili Nais was presented with the Guinness World Record certificate by Mountain Torq Sdn Bhd, the company that established the via ferrata trail on Mount Kinabalu.
The Guinness certificate was presented by Mountain Torq executive director Wilfred Tok and witnessed by Sabah Tourism chairman Datuk Tengku Zainal Adlin Tengku Mansor.
Mountain Torq sales and marketing director Quek I-Gek said the highest of Mount Kinabalu's "via ferrata" or "iron road" in Italian was at an altitude of 3,776m, nearly 500m higher than the second highest track at the Dolomites mountain in Italy.
The via ferrata on Mount Kinabalu is a route using a series of steel rungs, rails and cables embedded in the mountain's Panar Laban rockface.
Spanning some 1.2km, the via ferrata was opened to public use on Dec 15, 2007 and since then more than 5,000 people have gone through the two tracks that include a 22m foot bridge suspended 3,600m above sea level.
Quek said Guinness World Records officials issued the certification of Mount Kinabalu's via ferrata in July and it came after a six-month effort that included survey work done by the state Land and Survey Department.
She said though there were more than 300 via ferratas worldwide, the route on Mount Kinabalu was the only one in Asia.
Tengku Adlin said the Guinness certification would further establish Sabah among travellers especially those keen on adventure and eco-tourism.
"We are proud of the fact that Mount Kinabalu was Malaysia's first World Heritage site.
"Now Malaysians particularly in Sabah will be proud to identify themselves with a Guinness World Record," he added. THE STAR

1. Jika anda makan satay, jangan pula lupa timunnya, sebabnya memakan satay bersama karbon yang terhasil selepas pembakaran akan mendatangkan kesan karsinogen! Apa bendanya karsinogen tu? (Ianya ialah suatu keadaan yang menyebabkan barah). Timun pula adalah anti-karsinogen.
2. Jangan makan udang selepas mengambil pil vitamin C!
Fakta diperolehi dari 'Health Corporation of Singapore '.
Kalau istilah James Bond, 'Licence to kill!'
