umno behind the church attacks

umno behind the church attacks

umno behind the church attacks

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 09:17 AM PST

and maybe plus the surau attack too….. but what else is new eh??

many of us had already long suspected that umno is behind the church attacks.  ok we suspect or we speculate only. we are not sure. the suspects caught may be young unknown people…. but not many believe they attacked the church on their own. somebody paid them to do it.  and that somebody (or more than 1 of course) is from umno, perhaps even some umnoputera who are ex ministers.

yes, we suspect and we are not sure but  yesterday i came across two places that confirm our suspicion on umno behind the church attacks. first in malaysiakini, the news 'umno members among tabernacle arson attacks'.

A PKR vice-president has claimed that Umno members were involved in the arson attack against the Metro Tabernacle church in Desa Melawati earlier this month.

Azmin Ali said he is in the process of collecting evidence and will release the information in the near future.

He was speaking at the Masjid Jumburiyah in Taman Dato Harun, one of two mosques desecrated with two wild-boar heads today.

Azmin, who is Gombak MP, said at least four of the eight remanded over the attack are Umno members from the Gombak and Ampang divisions.

"The Umno president should explain why these members were involved. This was a cowardly act by Umno Youth," he said.

He told reporters that the full name, Mykad number and Umno membership number of those involved will be made public as soon as possible.

"It will not be difficult to obtain these details. I even know which branch they are from," he claimed.

then over at haris ibrahim's blog, at this post which was dated 15 jan, i found this:

I had tea with some UMNO people early this week. They confirmed that UMNO was behind the initial church attacks.

see? even umno members themselves confirmed it.

people, umno is really getting desperate now and will do anything to make sure they stay in power (or that they come back in power – like the mourning guy ex selangor MB), so be careful! do not fall into their trap!

STAGED

ABOUT two weeks ago, former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir said, if the Americans can produce the movie Avatar, they can also stage the 9-11. And the landing of their people on the moon. And many more. Similar ideas came to mind when the churches were attacked after the word Allah issue. Or rather after the surau in Johor was attacked. Then the pig's heads. If they (which they?) can paint the Sabah State mosque fences with what looked like crosses in the 80s, well may be they (which they) could also stage the pig's heads. How about the cow's head at the Hindu temple last year? But who cares? They (which they?) are not easy to arrest. Unlike people who take part in candle light vigils... they (which they?) are very easy to be nabbed. May be even using the ISA rules (which rules?). Well, before anyone gets too excited, what you have just read are but views (off course I had since paraphrased it for dramatic purposes - not unlike the Avatar) I gathered from peoples from all woks of life. I may or may not agree.... :-)

PIG'S HEADS
By RAZAK AHMAD
Malaysian police said two pig's heads were found at a Malaysian mosque close to a neighborhood hit by an ethnic clash nine years ago following a series of arson and firebomb attacks on churches.
The discovery of the pig heads -- an animal considered offensive to Muslims and whose consumption is prohibited -- could further inflame tensions in the mainly Muslim country, prompting police to issue a stern warning against stirring up emotions.
Eleven churches, a Catholic school, a Sikh temple, two mosques and two Muslim prayer rooms so far have been hit by arson and vandalism attacks in recent weeks over the use of the word "Allah" by Christians.

Police said the pig heads were found about 5:30 a.m. local time at a mosque on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur in Selangor state.

"I am warning people not to try and influence the situation and don't try to take advantage to raise the anger of any ethnic group," Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar told Reuters.

The mosque is located near a neighborhood which in 2001 was hit by an ethnic clash that reportedly left six people dead.

Khalid said police were working closely with local mosque and neighborhood committees to try and keep residents calm.

The row stems from a court ruling on December 31 last year allowing a Catholic newspaper to use "Allah" in its Malay-language editions.

FACEBOOK GROUP

A group created in the online networking site Facebook to protest the use of the word by non-Muslims has so far attracted more than 250,000 people.

The use of "Allah" is common among Malay-speaking Christians, who account for 9.1 percent of the 28 million population, especially in the Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak.

Opinions are split, but many Malays have expressed unhappiness over allowing the word to be used by Christians.

The government has warned that laws, including the Internal Security Act that allows detention without trial, would be deployed to keep tensions from boiling over.

Police have so far arrested 19 people over the attacks, and a 25-year-old Malay student was charged in court on January 15 with threatening public safety following a comment he reportedly made on his Facebook page offering to throw petrol bombs.

The government of Prime Minister Najib Razak is appealing the court verdict and has condemned the arson and vandalism attacks, but analysts have said he would likely lose votes among non-Muslims unhappy with the row.

Malaysia's mainly Chinese and Indian non-Muslim ethnic minorities, who form 40 percent of the country's population, abandoned the ruling coalition in the 2008 general elections partly due to complaints over increasing religious marginalization.

Analysts have said the arson attacks, though not an immediate risk, are raising worries among some foreign investors at a time when Prime Minister Najib Razak has pledged to lure more foreign investment.

Malaysia, which between 1990 and 2000 accounted for half of all foreign direct investment into it, Thailand and Indonesia, has now lost its leading position. Najib is trying to woo them back with economic liberalization measures. REUTERS

That Day At Farlim Pasar Malam Saw This Sarawak Guy

I went shopping at Farlim's weekly night market last week with mom. It's so crowded, so dusty because of the sand, and so many things to see but I have got nothing to buy. Mom bought a lot of clothes but not me, I saw some cool stuff too, but I prefer buying it in the mall.

IMG_4387 by nicholaschan.

While I was accompanying mom shopping, I hear people talking through the microphone, in Hokkien. It sounded like there's street show going on, so curiosity, I went to check it out.

I then saw many people gather around and see a guy talking stuff and stories.

This guy claimed he came from Sarawak and he talked really a lot lot lot. He said there will be something special to be shown after his talking, I was there waiting and waiting until I got inpatient and walked away. Haha, really can't wait for him to finish his talking, because he just has got too many things to talkabout.

Till then, I don't really know what he sells, I think is some sort of Sarawak herbs medicine.

A Dogs Tale

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 07:39 AM PST

Today I'm going to talk about dogs or rather about the dog that resides in my house. Most of my long time readers would probably know that she really doesn't belong to me. She actually belongs to my boss or rather my ex-boss (it's a long story and I'm in no mood to tell it) and she's been staying with us for close to six months now.

Pebbles is her name and she was just supposed to stay with us for a month or so but ended up being with us for six months now. Not that I'm complaining though cos she's become a huge part of the family that I don't think we can bear to live without her. Besides my ex-boss hasn't asked for her yet and he's okay with us looking after her.

Whatcha looking at?

I just hope he never asks for her cos it would be too painful to part with her. Our lives changed the moment she first came to live with us. Wifey instantly fell in love with her, so did the boys and as for me, well what can I say, she's simply adorable.

We never had a dog prior to this and having one suddenly come to stay with us was something very new to us. It changed our lives quite a bit too. Instead of having two kids to look after we had one more 'kid' to be contented with.

I always thought that having a dog would be pretty messy. You know dogs la, always barking and messing up the place. But Pebbles totally changed my opinion of dogs. She was and still is an angel though she can be a bratty little thing at times.

She's so easy to handle and hardly barks except when those pesky stray cats come and taunt her through the gate or when something startles her. She's one of the most friendliest breed of dogs around, in fact sometimes too friendly that I'm afraid people will dognap her away.

Like I said, she's so easy to handle and is even toilet trained that when she wants to pee or do her bigger business, she'll run into the toilet to her personal 'toilet bowl' which is really a bathroom non slip mat and proceed with her business there.

There's one thing I learned about Shih Tzu's and that they're great actors and know how to manipulate us in doing her bidding. Yes, she's got us wrapped around her paws running around and doing stuff for her like the princess she thinks she is ... LOL! She's got this huge eyes (like all Shih Tzu's do) and she knows how to use them to get what she wants. And trust me, once she does her eye trick, you simply CANNOT resist bowing down to her needs.

She's such a happy dog and loves hanging around with wifey and me. She'll follow either wifey or me around like a shadow though she is a little terrified of my younger boy who loves tormenting her. When she sees him, she'll run and hide behind us ... hahaha ...

The safest place to hide out from that terrifying boy ...

But there's another thing that Shih Tzu's are also known for which is they're pretty sensitive and can sulk when not given what they want or when she gets the occasional scolding from me for being a brat. When that happens she'll just turn away and go sulk in the corner or sometimes she'll just go to wifey with this hurt look and the next thing I know wifey will be saying,

'Now, just what did you do to her?'

Darn, that dog sure knows how to get people in trouble ... LOL! But despite all that we're so fond of her that we cannot see ourselves not having her sitting under the chair while we surf or on the couch with us while we watch TV. We even worry about leaving her at home for too long when we go out.

I read this article that said Shih Tzu's have the lowest scale of intelligence of all dog breeds and I happen to totally disagree with it cos Pebbles seem to have intelligence on a different level. She knows when it's time to eat, she knows when we're going to surf or watch TV. When it's time to sleep and we start the process of shutting the TV off and closing all the doors she knows it's time to head upstairs for bed and will wait for us at the stairs ready to go up.

Now this is the life ...

She also knows when we're getting ready to go out and will start giving us this really sad look that she's going to be left alone that will just break our hearts. And if we sleep a little too long on the weekends, she'll jump up on the bed and wake us up telling us that it's time to take her down and she won't be satisfied until we actually get up. Now if that isn't intelligence I don't know what is. I think whoever wrote that article was hoodwinked by a Shih Tzu into believing they're not very smart dogs.

Actually I don't even know why I'm posting about Pebbles cos I really wanted to post about how hooked I am watching Glee but I think I've written a little too long about Pebbles and wouldn't want to bore you any longer :D

Oh, did I mention that I was totally hooked on Glee? No? Yes? Well, just in case I didn't, I'm totally hooked on Glee ... LOL!

P.S - Pebbles even has her own blog :D

Dr M: Blog like me to avoid arrest

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 08:05 AM PST

When approached by journalists at an event at i-City in Selangor today, Dr M said, "Bloggers should not unnecessarily do things that are not going to benefit anybody. Why use your blog to insult people?"

Mahathir, a prolific blogger himself, said he only writes about matters which have "basis in truth", and that he is prepared to defend everything that he has said in a court of law.

Refuting claims that he is 'immune' from arrest as he is a prominent public figure, he said, "I don't think they will arrest me just yet…Have I done anything wrong? This is for a judge to decide."

...ineffective enforcement allows for illegal squatting along five-foot paths

OBSTRUCTION: An assortment of goods obstruct these five-foot paths in Petaling Jaya

PETALING JAYA: The use of five-foot ways along shops to display or store goods is illegal.
Yet the local authority does not act against these illegal business operators.

The problem has been there for years, so much so that businesses have come to take this for granted.
They feel the practise of visual displays of their products along five-foot ways has been going on for generations, and, therefore the local authority will be sympathetic and refrain from taking action.

Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) deputy mayor Puasa Md Taib said action by the local authority is seen as causing them trouble.
Free Loader 1
"There are business operators who have been occupying such spaces for generations. This makes it difficult for the local authority to start doing any enforcement," he said.

However, he said that, in the past the council had taken action.

A fine for placing merchandise along the five-foot way or a display of advertising board blocking the path is a mere RM250.

A foreign visitor had asked if local by-laws allowed for trade along the five-foot way that was meant for the public to walk.

He said it was raining heavily one day and  without an umbrella, he thought he could seek shelter by walking along the shops, only to find himself zig-zagging his way between shops, goods and the road.

MBPJ councillor T. Anthony said obstruction along pavements fronting shops in Petaling Jaya had always been a problem.

He said this was a bigger problem for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women as well.

"When that happens, these people are forced on to the road which, in turn, endangers their lives," he said.
Anthony, who is chairman of MBPJ's  disabled committee, said he would raise the matter at the next Disabled Technical Team committee meeting.

The All-Petaling Jaya Residents Association Coalition (APAC) chairman Liew Wei Beng said the MBPJ's Enforcement Unit should apply the Uniform Building By-Law to ensure that five-foot ways are barrier free.
"Unfortunately, they neither do their work nor apply the law evenly," he said.
"It is a problem all over PJ and the disabled too have complained. It's been going on for years, a practice by unscrupulous traders," he said.

He said restaurants were allowed to place dining tables and chairs along five-foot ways and for which they had to have a license.

What i would like to share with you is about our peaceful and harmony country. As i know there were lots of problem among ourself because some said they are cheated by goverment and some say they don't get what they suppose to get and some even complaint that their own race cheated them. After all why are this people forgot that our country still in peace and harmony,Stop blaming others for your downfall,Malaysia is wounderful country and politics is one of best job but we the citizen misuse all that given to us.Everywhere we go we fight and create disharmony,is this what our parents and religion teach us to do.Why not be peace to each and everyone, why are looking at other like crooks.By looking at them like this what do we get.I would like to propose to the AG and the goverment that study back what is best solution for those who involve in attack like this.To my point of view those who create disharmony among the race and religion should strip off his citizenship and forfits all his EPF balance and let him have PR status.

Today's attack which i strongly condemn and i hope from now on no onw will attack anyone, its all waste of time, energy and money,If you could put lots of time and energy to carry the pig head and throw it into the mosque why not use the same energy and time to have discussion and solve the problem that the citizen facing. This people are can be called rubbish of the community( sampah Masyarakat).PEACE TO ALL,CREATE PEACE NOT WAR.

Dr M JOKES. LAUGH PLEASE....
Posted by: sdalee

WHEN Dr. M was PM of Malaysia. One lousy day in the middle of the economic crisis, Dr M was feeling extremely frustrated and wondering how a neighboring country can be doing better than Malaysia .

One of his aides said, I heard that the leaders consult Feng Shui masters to ensure prosperity for the country. Dr M thought if that was the case, Malaysia Bomoh also can, and went to seek the top bomoh's advice in the country.

After reviewing the case, the bomoh told Dr M that there were TWO things that he must do:

Bomoh: Step 1. You must blame the crisis on SOROS for everything.

Dr M: But Why?

Bomoh: Because SOROS stands for 'Speculate On Ringgit Or Stocks'. You must blame him, and look at ways to control the ringgit and stock market.

Bomoh: Step 2 - You must get rid of "A".

Dr M: What! why him?

Bomoh: Because "A" stands for 'A Nation Without Any Ringgit'.

Dr M: But how? This is most difficult to do, he is popular with the people.

Bomoh: Aiyoh, you stupidlah Che Det! Look at your name, Dr M. Make Anwar Homosexual And Then Highlight It Repeatedly

NOTE: The person who invented this is genius! But this one 'lagi' best. The latest according to the trend.

This is a new acronymn... stands for:

I HATE the Establishment - So AM I UNPATRIOTIC ????

I HATE the establishment for what they are made of.

Made up of silly and corrupted politicians and so called "leaders" who made silly decisions and flip flop decisions but would not admit their mistakes , instead point fingers and pushing all the blames to everyone else except themselves.
I hate the authoritative bodies that uses selective prosecutions to go after only certain body or anti establishment but are very blind and deaf to the very obvious ones in the establishments.

I hate the on going case where they can make remarks that the poor victim fall to his death committing suicide while we can smell that every effort is being cooked up to conceal or rather not to reveal the truth. I hate the silly arguments given for the prohibition of using certain name calling or words from being used. Now there are more controversies than solution or any way to resolve this complication.

I hate the excuse given as not enough manpower to help protect the citizens while they can have truck loads and show of force in one particular state during the scuffle and many more others. I hate the biased head of state who should not take side of any political affiliation but when he did , we cannot comment or else we will be charged under seditions act or being called "biadab" while a group of the establishment can display the word "Natang" to one other head of state and nothing happens. I hate the establishment for being so corrupt that there are so many obvious violations and abuses of power entrusted on them but yet none got hauled up nor charged under the court of law and many many more. These all I hate and many many more , the list goes on , so AM I UNPATRIOTIC ???? Mind you , I stand up still and SING when Negarku is played at any function , fortunately there is no forbidden word in it as far as I am concerned being a Chinese. I pay my income tax without fail and not a single sen short. So you tell me , am I UNPATRIOTIC ????? - AnSoN

According to arah, a pig invites its friend to have sex with its mate.
How is the invitation extended? He should elaborate on this as it

your authority to justify your assertion?
What is your definition of promiscuity, arah?
Is not keeping a harem or even 4 wives tantamount to promiscuity? To

Arah's next interesting comment is: "And among people who consume

The world's biggest consumers of pork are Chinese followed by
Europeans and Americans. Is arah accusing them of indulging in wife

Azmin Akan Dedah Identiti Penyerang Rumah Ibadat

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 06:37 AM PST

Beliau melapangkan masa kira-kira satu jam bermula 2.30 petang.

-malaysiakini video : TVS

Serangan Kepala Babi Mencurigakan (updated)

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 06:22 AM PST

ADUN Taman Medan, Haniza Talha menyifatkan provokasi yang direncanakan sebuah parti politik gagal membangkitkan kemarahan orang Melayu.

Pagi tadi, 2 kepala babi diletakkan diperkarangan dua masjid berasingan disyaki didalangi sebuah parti politik.

Haniza berkata parti politik itu lupa kaum Melayu kini bukan berfikiran jumud. Mereka kini pandai menilai situasi semasa.

Saya harap rakyat sedarlah," jelas Haniza.

Kerajaan Selangor Deklasifikasi Maklumat YBK

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 06:14 AM PST

-TVS

Muslim saboteurs could be behind attacks

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 06:35 AM PST

ZNONEulkifli Mohamad, the imam who leads prayers at the Al-Imam Al-Tirmizi mosque, called for calm and said Muslim saboteurs could be behind the latest incidents and told reporters that it was the work of some people to stir racial tension in the country and wanted the police to act fast and asked Muslims to be patient. Is it possible that the Muslims are behind the mosque attacks while the Christians are behind the church attacks? It was one of the theories 'espoused' by Dr. Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin. Nevertheless, my personal belief is that these attacks are politically motivated. Read 'Motif politik antara 3 teori Asri gereja diserang.'

Various updates

Posted: 27 Jan 2010 05:39 AM PST

We had our Board meeting last night. It was the first meeting for the year so there were quite a few things to discuss. Amongst others were setting the date for our coming AGM in March & setting the deadline for submission of reports by the various coordinators to be included in our annual report.

So yep, it's report writing time again! Me? Just like last year, other than the Chair's report, I will also have to write up the report for our Children Education Fund and Education Sponsorship for Children program. And oh, since most (if not all) photos of activities were taken using my camera, I'd have to prepare the photos of activities as well. Paperwork is the part I dislike most, especially since I have enough paperwork to be done at my office. I prefer doing groundwork like house visits & all. But having said that, when a report has to be done, I don't like it if it's done cincai-cincai either, especially since the reports will be given to various people/organisations, especially donors.

Meanwhile remember Azimah (the unwed mother) and Halimah (the pregnant lady) from my clinic duty last week? I had initially postponed assigning a buddy to them. I wanted to discuss during the meeting if there was anybody else amongst the female volunteers who could be assigned as their buddies. But in the end, I still ended up as their buddy. However, we also agreed that 3 of my older and not so problematic clients be handed over to other volunteers. So I "gave away" Jah, Murni and Zainab. I can bet you they will still be calling me anyway, but at least I know these ladies don't mind if other volunteers call them.

Frankly I think we are short not only of female Malay volunteers, we are generally short of female volunteers. Besides, most of the PLHIVs needing our services are the females. Many of the HIV+ males usually would just say they're doing okay and don't need a buddy. Even the ones agreeing to be assigned buddies, would usually just opt to contacts by phone calls only. It is especially obvious during our annual Family Day, majority attending the event would be the female PLHIVs and their children.

But guess what? We're organising a gathering for the male PLHIVs this coming Sunday. We were supposed to have one for the females in the afternoon, and one for the males at night. Ended up we're calling off the gathering for the females but will go on with the gathering for male PLHIVs. Frankly for the females, those who'd come would probably be MY clients and the few I asked either need to work or have other matters to attend to this coming Sunday. Besides, most of my clients already know each other and already have each other's contact numbers. But they still seldom contact each other because they all claim "credit habis".

I do hope the gathering for the male PLHIVs will be a good start to get the male PLHIVs to form a peer support group.

I will not membusykan body at the male PLHIV gathering so I have made other plans for the weekend. This Saturday insyaAllah I will be doing the second round of this month's McPi McDelivery – this time to Sofie's house. I'm purposely visiting on a Saturday this time because Ika, Sofie's daughter, has complained that I always visit on a weekday afternoon when she's at school. Tak aci, she says, that her brothers all get to meet me and she can't. So okay, once in a while I visit on a weekend when she's home.

Before that I may need to shop for a bicycle first. Rosnah's daughter needs a bicycle to go to school. I hope to deliver the bicycle on Sunday. So yep, probably tomorrow I'd shop for a bicycle and keep it at our centre. Then Saturday, after my pasar tani routine, off to the minimarket to get the supply of groceries for Sofie's family and straight away deliver to Sofie. Then Sunday, get the bicycle from the centre and deliver to Rosnah.

Confirm lah my car jadi delivery van this weekend!

Pigs' heads found at Malaysia mosque amid Allah row

What is two pig heads found in the mosque? It is a very trivial matter. Good
holy muslims should simply laugh over it.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Pig heads were found at two mosques on Wednesday near a neighbourhood hit by an ethnic clash nine years ago, Malaysian police said, following a series of recent arson and vandalism attacks on religious places of worship.

The discovery of the pig heads - an animal considered offensive to Muslims and whose consumption is prohibited - could further inflame tensions in the mainly Muslim country, prompting police to issue a stern warning against stirring up emotions.

Eleven churches, a Catholic school, a Sikh temple, three mosques and two Muslim prayer rooms so far have been hit by arson or vandalism in recent weeks amid a row over the use of the word "Allah" by Christians.

Analysts have said the attacks, although not an immediate risk, are raising worries among some foreign investors at a time when Prime Minister Najib Razak has pledged to lure more foreign investment.

Police said two pig heads were found at a mosque in a mainly Malay but racially mixed neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur, and another two at a mosque on the outskirts of the capital.

"I am warning people not to try and influence the situation and don't try to take advantage to raise the anger of any ethnic group," Selangor state police chief Khalid Abu Bakar told Reuters.

The mosques are located near a neighbourhood which in 2001 was hit by an ethnic clash that local media said left six people dead.

Khalid said police were working closely with local mosque and neighbourhood committees to try and keep residents calm.

WORD IN COMMON USE

The row stems from a court ruling on Dec. 31 last year allowing a Catholic newspaper to use the word "Allah" in its Malay-language editions to describe the Christian God.

The use of the word is common among Malay-speaking Christians, who account for 9.1 percent of the 28 million population, mostly in the Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak.

A group created in the online networking site Facebook to protest the use of the word by non-Muslims has so far attracted more than 250,000 people.

Lee Hock Guan, a political analyst at Singapore's Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, said the incidents could further stoke racial anger, depending on the government's response.

"They must find who is responsible for this act and bring them to justice," he said. "If the government takes a firm stance to not allow any demonstration over this issue, then it will give people some time to cool down."

The government has warned that laws, including the Internal Security Act that allows detention without trial, would be deployed to keep tensions from boiling over.

Police have so far arrested 19 people over the attacks, and a 25-year-old Malay student was charged in court on Jan. 15 with threatening public safety following a comment he allegedly made on his Facebook page offering to throw petrol bombs.

The government of Prime Minister Najib Razak is appealing against the court verdict and has condemned the arson and vandalism attacks, but analysts say he may lose votes among non-Muslims unhappy with the row.

Malaysia's mainly Chinese and Indian non-Muslim ethnic minorities, who form 40 percent of the country's population, abandoned the ruling coalition in the 2008 general elections partly due to complaints over increasing religious marginalisation.

Dolsot bibimbap in Myeong-dong, Seoul, South Korea

Bibimbap, literally mixed rice, is an iconic Korean dish with white rice topped with various ingredients (vege, egg, meat etc.) and chili paste. Dolsot bibimbap is the version where the bibimbap is served in a hot stone bowl.

Had this last week at a famous restaurant in Myeong-dong. The meal cost 9000 won (~US$8); nice bibimbap and great side dishes…
