Apa Dosa TGNA Dilucutkan Dari Jawatan Mursyidul Am PAS?

Apa Dosa TGNA Dilucutkan Dari Jawatan Mursyidul Am PAS?

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 09:48 AM PDT

Nik Aziz Bukan Lagi Mursyidul Am PAS Sejak 3 Bulan Lalu

Tanpa disedari Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat sebenarnya bukan lagi Mursyidul Am PAS sejak tiga bulan lalu ekoran kesilapan teknikal dalam parti.

-MSTAR

Ulasan GB

Segalanya kerana Pindaan Perlembagaan.

Berdasarkan sebuah hadits yang dituturkan oleh Imam Bukhari dan Muslim dari Hudzaifah al-Yamaniy ra, bahwasanya beliau ra berkata;

Yen Yen says MCA has forgiven Chua

Personally, I met at least one Chinese man in his late 40s who found Chua a despicable old man and said he was a shame to the Chinese community. Well, that's only one man's opinion. ;)

Datuk Pun Kena Diserkupkan Bila Ke Mahkamah?

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 08:51 AM PDT

"Tuhan hanya satu, saya hanya mampu pasrah.

"Tak perlu saya beri komen banyak dalam kes ini, tunggu sajalah apa keputusannya nanti," katanya ringkas.

Polis menahan Wan Hashim ditahan dipercayai berhubung pengumuman pemecatan jawatan Tengku Muhammad Faris sebagai Pemangku Raja.

Desas-desus mengatakan tangkapan tersebut berikutan satu laporan polis dibuat Pengerusi Persatuan Pegawai Tadbir Kelantan, Shafien Ismail berhubung pengumuman penamatanjawatan Tengku Muhammad Faris.

Beliau ditahan di IPK Kelantan sejak pukul 8.40 malam Khamis lalu.

Potty training: Is Your Child Ready? 18+ months...Potty training is hard to do

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 08:50 AM PDT

Every effort made to potty train Janson seems to have failed. 8-)

Today, after being woken up by some noise, I got up and went to Janson who was standing near the toilet. Mah-mah was in the toilet, filling the bath tub with water to bathe Janson. She told me that he just poopooed something small and hard on the floor of the kitchen. Then, mah-mah came out of the toilet and Janson went in, waiting to get into the bath tub. Suddenly, I could see his face changing, as if trying to push something out!

'AIYAK!' I shouted when I saw something hard on the ground. It was the size of a sausage, only shorter and slightly bigger!

Janson cried. I was shocked.

He was actually frightened to see an object dropping off while he had his pants on but not his diapers. Quickly, I went to hug him while stroking his head and apologised profusely, saying sorry to him a few times.

Some people have suggested that one of the ways to potty train is a toddler is to let him go without a diaper but with a loose shorts or pants on. Then, let him poopoo or wee-wee freely. If possible, watch out for the 'I-got-to-go' sign. Of course there are many 'tips' out there on potty training but I guess there is no one proven method that works for every child.

I just took a 'Potty Training: Is Your Child Ready' quiz. A para of the result reads:
The average child cannot be successfully toilet trained before the age of 28 months. While girls are often trained by age two, boys may not be trained before three or later. Of course, there are always exceptions.

jesus lives in south korea

'Excuse me Miss, do you have 5 minutes? I just need 5 minutes and your life will change!'

i went to klpac yesterday to watch a play by mark beau de silva entitled 'jesus lives in south korea'. it supposed to be a comedy drama, but i end up thinking dat dis is a pretty heavy play about beliefs (urself and god). they did injected sum comedy, but it is not dat obvious to call it a comedy drama. i duno. dats what i think.

i was there with ash n sham, n we agreed dat we have to continuously think about what they say during the play. n like wat sham said ' if its possible, i wana jot down apa derang cakap, sbb takut terlupa n think about it after the play'.

the actor n the actresses were good. i didnt see anyone is better than the rest or vice versa, because they are all the same. they gave the same impact. n its a good one.

very simple setting. it reminds me of the macbeth play that i watched there, few years ago by some australian production. very simple setting, but it is sufficient for the whole play.

overall, a good play to watch. but if u r planning to watch this play n hoping to crack your head with laughter during the whole 90 mins, u r wrong because it requires thinking. a whole lot of it.

I know, I know. I think almost all the Kelantanese are very excited with this JomHeboh-thingy at KB's stadium. But me? No, no, I didn't go for that crowded-hot-place. Ha ha ha ha :D one thing is, it's very hot sunny day which makes me lazy to go anywhere.

I heard from my coursemates that they had to park their car veryyyyy far from the location. Jezzz, do you expect me to walk under hot-steamy sun? Nope, I WILL NOT. Ha ha ha. Anyway, if you want to sneak a bit about this JomHeboh, you can sneak into my friend's blog, Sylvester Hitam. She talked a bit about the event :) (saja nak promote you la Yatie....hihi)

I'm not interested going to crowded places, RIMAS. Most important, I don't like the 1001 smells. Huhuhu. Plus, I don't like my ''precious body'' un-intentionally touch by other people (tergesel lah tu). eeeewwwww.

Anyway, strange enough, why they never organize a more ''healthy'' exhibition like ''Pesta Buku Antarabangsa'' like in KL? Even they do have, the Pesta Buku in Kelantan selling more Islamic books than other things. Please don't say I'm ''anti-Islam'', no, no...It just that we are in multiracial country, the books also must be ''multiracial'' too, am I right?

p/s: At last, there's a bit entertainment in Kelantan, but I still craving for cinema T_T

Kitaran Maha Bodoh

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 07:36 AM PDT

Oleh:  Gotos

Dasar pendidikan kita adalah kepatuhan.
Bukan pertukaran pikiran. Ilmu sekolah adalah ilmu hafalan,
dan bukan ilmu latihan menguraikan
– W.S Rendra (1935- 2009)

Jenson Button Juara Grand Prix Australia 2010

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 06:50 AM PDT

Racist Mahathir making a fool out of himself

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 06:33 AM PDT

'How ironic it is for Mahathir to talk about helping poor Malays, when his second son, Mokhzani, is a billionaire and ranked number 20 in the list of richest Malaysians.'

Multi racial: Well, if you want to know who are the racists in Malaysia, you don't have to go far as they are all in Perkasa and most of them are Umno members.

I'm very disappointed with former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who should have put more effort to unite the country instead of dividing it. With his support, Mahathir is now the champion of racism in Malaysia.

Urban Malaysian: What a tragedy! A retired prime minister lending his name and presence to a gathering of racist Malaysians. Is he missing the lack of attention as a retiree so much that he has to walk in the mud to get the required attention?

Ida Bakar: It is a bit like the story of the emperor's new clothes: Mahathir is the emperor, full of vanity as the wira (hero) for the Malays. The goons at Perkasa are like the weavers offering the outfit of fighters for Malay rights and privileges.

But we, the average Malaysians, know that it is all empty talk as it is devoid of policy, planning and vision.

Hashim: How ironic it is for Mahathir to talk about helping poor Malays, when his second son, Mokhzani, is a billionaire and is ranked number 20 in Malaysian Business' list of richest Malaysians. Mokhzani has a net value estimated at slightly over a billion ringgit (RM1.08 billion) through his vehicle Kenchana Petroleum.

Another son, Mirzan, is a member of the board in Philippines beer company San Miguel.

KSM: The impression that Malay rights are threatened is being propagated by Umno cronies who want more handouts so that they can hijack them for their own bank accounts.

Eugene: Let us forever remember those people who supported and attended the ceremony as we now know who the racists are. Even the Selangor sultan is wise to stay away from such an incendiary and racist ceremony.

Changeagent: Imagine the public outcry and international condemnation if former US presidents George W Bush or Bill Clinton had chosen to attend and officiate a KKK white-supremacist meeting.

Now, imagine the public scorn and international shame that Mahathir had brought to Malaysia when he attended and officiated Perkasa's Malay-supremacist meeting. Najib can truly say goodbye to his 1Malaysia aspirations.

Gen2: It looks like the government has sub-contracted the keris-kissing to this group of primitives still living with their tribal mentality while the world is changing around them.

It is shameful that several heads of government agencies attended this Perkasa meeting. They should realise that they represent their agencies. These agencies are there to serve all Malaysians not a group of people who want to keep Malaysia forever in the company of third-grade countries with third-grade mentalities.

Zubir: The emergence of Perkasa in Malaysia, which was approved by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) is very worrying. ROS in the first place should not approve any race-based association or NGO if they really support 1Malaysia.

Law Chin Teong: These are the very guys who have been pawning Malay interests while shouting 'Hidup Melayu!' What a pity that ordinary Malays continue to regard them as their protectors.

Yuvan: By associating with this highly dubious group Perkasa, Mahathir has effectively sealed the fate of BN at the next general elections. Despite his racist stance and all the negative perception about him, whatever little bit of respect and regard that the non-Malays had for him, merely as an elder statesman, I believe has completely gone.

It is also shocking and extremely disappointing that Mahathir's son, Mukhriz, who is a deputy minister in the government administration, has attended a function organised by a group that seems to have made it very clear that they are extreme hardliners and have absolutely no regard and no recognition for non-Malay existence in Malaysia.

Can Mukhriz now say anything in support of '1Malaysia' that his boss (the prime minister) is trying hard to promote and win back the respect of the Chinese and Indians in this country?

RubyStar: Mahathir is a real menace to this country. After 22 years of mismanaging the country he is again doing what he is best at doing - stirring up racial sentiments and damaging the infrastructure of the country.

Luckily there are a lot of GLC heads of corporations who refused to be drawn into this circle of bigots who thinks that the world owes them a living. This is a borderless world now. If you are great at running a business then you can have 100 percent of the total spoils.

Perkasa is only leaching on others, doing Ali Baba business, getting free lunches, handouts and robbing those diligent businessmen who build up their business only to be told it has to be shared. Mahathir, you have done enough damage to this country.

Don't Play God: Najib, there goes your 1Malaysia slogan. Perhaps now you can revise your policy and call it 5Malaysia. Or perhaps, your 1Malaysia plan was just another sloganeering hoax to pull wool over the rakyat's (especially the non-Malays) eyes.

Pendatang: Perkasa should join BN and appoint Mahathir their chief. Umno is not doing a good job in protecting the Malays hence Perkasa can take over, and Mahathir can rule once more.

Scandalous Chua Soi Lek is new MCA president

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 06:21 AM PDT

KUALA LUMPUR: Former MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek won the president's post with a slim 68-vote majority today, edging former number one Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting and incumbent Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat in the party's elections.

Dr Chua, 62, polled 901 votes to Ka Ting's 833. Tee Keat came in third with 578 votes.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai clinched the deputy president's post when he garnered 1,171 votes to beat former vice-president and fellow Cabinet minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha by 65 votes. Kong had obtained 1,106 votes.

For the four posts of vice-president, sole woman contender Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen had the highest number of votes - 1,528, followed by former vice-president Datuk Donald Lim (1,469), Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung (1,202) and Central Committee (CC) member Gan Ping Sieu (also 1,202).

Today's victory is a pleasant one for Dr Chua, who had to battle the two heavyweight rivals but showed that he remains popular in the party despite many upheavals.

On Jan 2, 2008, he quit his Cabinet post and MCA vice-presidency after admitting that he was the man in a widely circulated sex video.

In the October 2008 party elections, he defeated former secretary-general and Ka Ting's brother, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, for the party's second highest post.

He was involved in a leadership tussle with Tee Keat when he was sacked in August last year for tarnishing the party's image because of the sex video.

He was reinstated as a party member by an extraordinary general meeting which also passed a vote of no-confidence in party president Tee Keat.

Subsequently, he was reinstated as deputy president by the Registrar of Societies, who in turn relegated Liow, who had filled the deputy president's post by then, back to vice-president.

Dr Chua buried the hatchet with Tee Keat to forge a "greater unity" plan but continued to face resistance from Liow and his supporters, including Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong and Wanita head Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who continued to push for fresh polls.

On March 4 this year, he resigned with 21 other CC members to pave the way for the fresh polls today, his second resignation in two years.

A total of 2,315 of the 2,377 eligible delegates voted today, the highest ever turnout in the party's history.

A total of 101 candidates contested the posts of president, deputy president, vice-president (four) and CC member (25) in this party polls, which were last held in October 2008. -- BERNAMA

Dr Chua memenangi jawatan presiden MCA manakala Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai pula menang jawatan timbalan presiden.

Malaysian Insider:Asthma relief in Pakistan salt mine

Pic Malaysian Insider

KHEWRA, Pakistan, March 28 — A centuries-old salt mine in Pakistan is offering experimental asthma therapy, attracting patients from all over the world.

Khewra (picture), billed as the world's second largest salt mine, has for centuries extracted the crucial mineral for export and has become a tourist attraction complete with a salt mosque and an electric train.

Now, the mine is cashing in on salt therapy, already a draw in the salt mines of Eastern Europe and a synthetic clinic in Britain.

Clinics claim that asthma patients and sufferers of other respiratory illnesses benefit from inhaling antibacterial salt particles in a sterile environment, helping loosen mucus and clear the lung passages.

"We don't use any medicine, because the asthmatic allergy patients recover through the air, so we provide them an environment in which their breathing can improve," said Akhlaq Bukhari, head doctor at the Khewra clinic.

Although there have been few clinical studies, salt caves are seen by some as a therapeutic alternative to drugs and there are natural and synthetic salt caves springing up all over the world.

While other clinics offer treatment for bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, and even ear infections, Shah says the Khewra clinic only treats patients whose asthma is triggered by allergies.

"I have come here all the way from Canada. I could not recover there through medicine, but I am feeling better since my arrival here," said Naeem Shamsher, a civil engineer from Canada.

Shamsher had tried medicine doled out by doctors back home but felt little relief and struggled to walk far without becoming breathless, so relatives in Pakistan suggested he visit the Khewra Mines.

"Now I can run and even play soccer just after spending three days in the mine," said Shamsher, who says he feels 60 percent better after the treatment.

The mine, located 160 kilometres south of Pakistan's capital Islamabad, was discovered in 320 BC by Alexander's troops and first developed by British colonial rulers in 1872, mine officials say.

Located deep underground in the mine, the asthma clinic resembles an upmarket guesthouse, with 12 beds covered in white sheets and red blankets in six independent cabins separated with salt bricks and softly lit by lamps.

There is a reception area decorated with salt lamps and a lounge complete with a fountain, sofas and a television set.

The walls and roof of the clinic are made from pure salt and a fan helps maintain the temperature and humidity, creating the so-called "micro-climate" that offers patients relief, Shah says.

A 10-day course at the Khewra Mines salt therapy centre costs 5,300 rupees (RM205), with 11 hours a day spent in the caves while nights are spent in a nearby hospital.

Since opening in 2007, the clinic has treated about 500 patients. Shah claims that 60 percent of patients experience some relief from their symptoms and says patients have come from as far as Britain and Saudi Arabia.

But Shahid Abbas, a doctor who runs the private Allergy and Asthma Centre in Islamabad, told AFP that although an asthma or allergy sufferer may get temporary relief, there is no quick-fix cure.

"There is no scientific proof that a person can permanently get rid of asthma by breathing in a salt mine or in a particular environment," he said.

Khaled Sajjad Khokhar, managing director of the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation, a government body which owns the mine, says they will assess the success of the Khewra clinic before approving its expansion to 100 beds.

But some patients are returning, happy to get even temporary relief.

"This hospital is a blessing, it gave me a second life. I never had problems breathing after spending 10 days over there in 2007," said Pakistani patient Adnan Khan, on his second visit to the clinic. — afprelaxnews.com

'Porn Star' Chua leading the vote...? Yeah!!! This time Umno will have a good running dog!

Dr Chua leading the vote, insiders say
By Clara Chooi
KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek is said to be leading in the count for the MCA presidency although the presidential votes will only be tabulated after 5pm.
Party insiders say early indication shows that Dr Chua (picture, centre) is in the lead with at least 1,000 votes in his favour.
He is trailed by incumbent Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat followed by former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting.
However, no confirmation this information could be obtained.
Counting of the votes began at about 2pm in the MCA headquarters here after 2,315 of the 2,318 central delegates who registered, cast their ballots shortly after noon.
According to officials, three delegates had not collected their ballot papers.
The extraordinary general meeting was adjourned at 12.30pm by assembly Speaker Datuk Yik Phooi Hoong and delegates proceeded to the building's foyer for lunch.
A total of 101 candidates are contesting for the 31 posts in the MCA central committee (CC).
The election was called after 21 CC members resigned early this month to protest against Tee Keat's presidency.
The Transport Minister was elected in 2008 after Ka Ting stepped down in the aftermath of the party's losses in Election 2008.

Malaysiakini, Fathima Idris :Science and faith complement each other

Posted: 28 Mar 2010 01:25 AM PDT

Source-Malaysiakini, Fathima Idris:Science and faith complement each other. As the late Ayatullah Murtaza Mutahhari had eloquently put it:

  1. 'Science gives us enlightenment and power; faith gives us love, hope and ardour.
  2. Science makes instruments; faith constructs purposes.
  3. Science gives speed; faith gives direction.
  4. Science is power; faith is benevolence.
  5. Science shows what is; faith inspires insight into what must be done.
  6. Science is the outer revolution; faith is the inner revolution.
  7. Science makes the universe the human universe; faith makes the psyche the psyche of humanity.
  8. 'Science expands man's being horizontally; faith conveys him upward.
  9. Science shapes nature; faith shapes man.
  10. Both science and faith empower man,
    • but science gives power of discrimination
    • and faith gives power of integration.
  11. Both science and faith are beauty,
    • but science is the beauty of the reason,
    • and faith is the beauty of the spirit.
    • Science is the beauty of thought,
    • and faith is the beauty of feeling.
  12. 'Both science and faith give man security.
    • Science gives security against the onslaught of illness, floods, earthquakes, storms;
    • faith against worry, loneliness, feelings of helplessness, feelings of futility.
  13. Science brings the world into greater harmony with man, and faith brings man into greater harmony with himself'.

I refer to the letter In defence of atheism and I would like to put across my views on why I find atheism disconcerting.

It is not their denial of God that bothers me but their worship of science, logic and rationality, and as the writer puts it 'the teachings of atheism are generally of a scientific and logical nature' and 'the atheists do not believe in anything without evidence'.

What I understand is that for atheists, every human experience has to be scientifically understood ie, it has to be empirically verifiable.

Putting aside the challenge of having to explain the experience of God scientifically, let's ponder to see whether all human experiences can be scientifically understood.

Let us take the writer's own seeking, his/her own sense of disillusionment and the grappling with the evil that exists around us. How is this experience to be scientifically understood? What sort of data, theory and equations ought to be put forward to explain this? If this is not done does it mean that what the writer goes through is not a valid experience?

I do not mean to put down the writer by making this query but to illustrate how, for me as a believer, I find it perplexing and unreal to understand human emotions in terms of formulae, equations and chemical reactions.

To the atheist, human beings are mere material objects and this may be their experience and their reality but this is not so for most humans who experience far more than just the base impulses of life. We need both reason as well as faith. For us life lived by reason without faith is like living on a parched earth.

We cannot deny that both co-exist in us and this is what makes us human. As Karen Armstrong explains in her book The case for God – what religion really means:

'In most pre-modern cultures, there were two recognised ways of thinking, speaking and acquiring knowledge. The Greeks called them mythos and logos. Both were essential and neither was considered superior to the other; they were not in conflict but complimentary. Each had its own sphere of competence and it was considered unwise to mix the two.

Logos ('reason') was the pragmatic mode of thought that enabled people to function effectively in the world. It had, therefore, to correspond accurately to external reality. People have always needed logos to make efficient weapons, organise their societies or plan an expedition. Logos was forward-looking, continually on the lookout for new ways of controlling the environment, improving old insights or inventing something fresh.

Logos was essential to the survival of our species. But it had its limitations: it could not assuage human grief or find ultimate meaning in life's struggles. For that, people turned to mythos or 'myth'.'

Science to me is to understand the world that is zahir, and faith that is which is batin. Therefore to try and measure what is batin using science would be akin to using an external callipers to measure internal dimensions. One is not going to get the right measure that way. Atheists may not experience this but most of us do and we should not be ridiculed for this; just as those who are tone deaf should not be dismissive of the music that they cannot appreciate.
