RM50m defection fund run by najib & rosie?

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 09:07 AM PST

perhaps it's true what zaid ibrahim said that day – that najib is 2/3 majority crazy.  so much so that he specially set up a RM50m defection fund?

spotted this story from harakah daily via shamsul iskandar's blog.  true or not? judge for yourself.

PM, wife told to come clean on RM50m defection fund

Wong Choon Mei

KUALA LUMPUR, Mac 5: Pakatan Rakyat has slammed Prime Minister Najib Razak for using "unprincipled methods" to regain a two-thirds majority in Parliament, urging him to come clean on accusations that he was using taxpayers' money to set up a RM50 million fund to lure opposition lawmakers to the Umno-BN coalition.

"We strongly condemn any unprincipled means such as these to regain the political upper hand," PAS deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa told Harakahdaily.

"It is no use and the people will see through it. It is better for Umno to try and beat Pakatan through free and fair elections rather than using unscrupulous defections and gerrymandering exercises."

Two-thirds craze to shore up sagging prestige

Indeed, Najib has intensified a campaign to rock the Pakatan in a bid to shore up his sagging prestige in Umno. He must call for the next general election before March 2013 and fears are high within his own coalition that he will not be able to help them regain voter confidence by then.

The Pakatan has been gaining ground on a multitude of issues including the non-payment of oil royalty to heartland Malay state, the trumped-up sodomy charges against Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and the abuse of federal institutions such as the police and the courts to stamp Umno's will on the people.

"Why is he crazy for a two-thirds majority in Parliament? Barisan Nasional has enough seats to pass law easily," PKR senior leader Zaid Ibrahim said to a press conference on Friday.

"He should not resort to this. It will only destroy his credibility and Umno's even more."

The first couple and the former sec-gen

In the past four weeks, Najib has enticed three PKR MPs – Zahrain Mohd Hashim, Tan Tee Beng and Mohsin Samsuri – to become Independents friendly to the BN. Another two, including problematic Kulim Bandar Bharu MP Zulkifli Noordin, are expected to follow.

Top PKR leaders believe that the PM and his wife Rosmah Mansor had zoomed in on former secretary-general Salehuddin Hashim for his in-depth knowledge of party members and their strengths and weaknesses. They sought his help to 'persuade' his party mates to quit.

"Najib and Rosmah met with almost all of them, those who could be used, enticing them with all kinds of reward," said PKR deputy president Syed Husin.

"It is not impossible that Salehuddin used his six years in PKR to dig out the secrets of his colleagues and used the information to his advantage," PKR strategic director Tian Chua told Harakahdaily.

Taxpayers' money

Accusations are also buzzing that Najib had granted a federal government power deal to his cousin so that commission of RM50 million could be churned to raise funds to finance the defections.

"We have enough evidence to show that this was something that was orchestrated some months back. It is very difficult to obtain hard evidence but we have enough information about these meetings and offers," Zaid said.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has been urged to probe the scandal immediately.

"These are very serious allegations involving the very top leadership of the country. The MACC must restore confidence by immediately initiating an investigation," PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Akin told Harakahdaily

Try and Win Chance to LA to Watch American Idol!

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 07:43 AM PST

Do you watch the Season 9 of American Idol? Frankly, I was not really into American Idol until now, I was too bored, no more Heroes, no more Prison Break, no more Fringe, no more American Got Talent, it's a little bit bored now and I turned to American Idol. Interesting!

Last time, I watch only the final and hear it from people, so I knew about Adam Lambert, David Cook, David Archuleta, Kelly Clarkson, William Hung and so on. Now I am watching it from audition, still catching it up till the latest episode on some Chinese Internet TV. Very nice, I like.

Powerful singing and I like it when the judge "shoot" them. Hehe.

By the way, I accidentally found out about this American Idol's contest while surfing some forum, it's a contest which actually will gives me chance to LA to see American Idol! OMG.

The contest very simple, but I very lame because I don't really know about the entertainment news. I only know Kathryn Bigelow won the Oscars lately. Haha, or Simon Cowell leaving American Idol after this season 9. I only know the basic basic one. ^^

So, I always ting tong tiang, do guessing on the answer for the question. Password to the question is pretty simple, it's only to see how fast you can give the answer for the question, then stand chance to go LA. Nevermind, I will try everyweek until I really failed. Now still OK yet. Won't give up because I want to go LA!

Lilly Scott is powerful! Don't you think so?

“Apa salahnya dedahkan sikap polis jahat itu?” - Jehan Miskin

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 08:14 AM PST

Tayangan klip video pendek selama 2:58 minit itu turut mengutip beberapa pendapat pemikir, pelakon, pembikin filem termasuk ahli politik negara berhubung industri perfileman negara.

-erapakatan

Di Perlis UMNO Lawan UMNO

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 07:48 AM PST

— Bernama

Samgyetang – literally ginseng chicken soup – is an iconic Korean dish which consists of a whole young chicken stuffed with glutinous rice plus Korean ginseng and boiled with some other oriental herbs.

One of the most famous restaurants to have this is Tosokchon (토속촌) which is located nearby the Gyeongbukgung Palace in Seoul…

Yayasan Reformis Bakal Ditubuhkan. Tahniah KEADILAN Daripada Seorang Pejuang Siber

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 05:14 AM PST

Ulasan GB

Pertama GB ucapkan tahniah kerana satu Yayasan Reformis bakal ditubuhkan.

Kerajaan Perlu Siasat Bagaimana Rakaman Dipenjara Boleh Tersebar

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 04:00 AM PST

-hmetro

I am a mixed blooded person, so what? Pure blooded race is Myth or Illusion of IDIOTS ONLY!

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 03:57 AM PST

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in addressig the Farewell Hajj_

  1. "No Arab has any superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab.
  2. Nor does a white man have any superiority over a black man or the black man any superiority over the white man.
  3. You are all the children of Adam, and Adam was created from clay" (al-Bayhaqi and al-Bazzaz).
  4. "Do not argue with the people of the Book (Christians and Jews) unless it is in the politest manners" (29:46)

I am a mixed blooded person, so what? Pure blooded race is Myth or Illusion of IDIOTS only! There is no pure race in the world.

Medically speaking pure inbred people are prone to genetic defects such as talking nonsense, megalomaniac or insane etc. Look at the Sakian Royalties of India and Ancient Royalties of Europe.

Myth or Illusion as Pure Bred or pure blooded by ignorant idiots.

We, Muslims were called mixed blooded, unpured blooded or Bastards (Mi Ma Sit Pha Masit) by the Burmese-Chinese Mixed blooded General Ne Win. Now a clown is foolishly frouninging upon mixed marriages.

Read this article of The Race Question in Wikipedia

The Race Question is a UNESCO statement issued on 18 July 1950 following World War II. The statement included both a scientific debunking of race theories and a moral condemnation of racism. It suggested in particular to "drop the term 'race' altogether and speak of "ethnic groups."

Signed by some of the leading researchers of the time, in the field of psychology, biology, cultural anthropology and ethnology, it questioned the foundations of scientific racist theories which had become very popular at the turn of the 20th century, alongside eugenics.

These racist theories had been a main influence of the Nazi racial policies and eugenics programme. The original statement was drafted by Ernest Beaglehole, Juan Comas, L. A. Costa Pinto, Franklin Frazier, sociologist specialised in race relations studies, Morris Ginsberg, founding chairperson of the British Sociological Association, Humayun Kabir, writer, philosopher and Education Minister of India twice, Claude Lévi-Strauss, one of the founders of ethnology and leading theorist of cultural relativism, and Ashley Montagu, anthropologist and author of The Elephant Man: A Study in Human Dignity, who was the rapporteur.

The text was then revised by Ashley Montagu following criticisms submitted by Hadley Cantril, E. G. Conklin, Gunnar Dahlberg, Theodosius Dobzhansky, author of Genetics and the Origin of Species (1937), L. C. Dunn, Donald Hager, Julian Huxley, first director of UNESCO and one of the many key contributors to neo-Darwinian synthesis, Otto Klineberg, Wilbert Moore, H. J. Muller, Gunnar Myrdal, author of An American Dilemma: The Negro Problem and Modern Democracy (1944), Joseph Needham, a biochemist specialist of Chinese science, and geneticist Curt Stern.

The Race Question first recalled the recent World War and, interestingly, made no direct reference to the Holocaust. The Constitution of the UNESCO stated that:

The great and terrible war that has now ended was a war made possible by the denial of the democratic principles of the dignity, equality and mutual respect of men, and by the propagation, in their place, through ignorance and prejudice, of the doctrine of the inequality of men and races.

A 1948 UNESCO resolution called upon the world organisation to consider the timeliness "of proposing and recommending the general adoption of a programme of dissemination of scientific facts designed to bring about the disappearance of that which is commonly called race prejudice." Thus, following the philosophy of the Enlightenment, the UNESCO aimed at struggling against popular racism through the vulgarisation of scientific facts, which demonstrated the inanity of race theories. In 1949, the UNESCO adopted three other similar resolutions, recommending the institution to

  • "study and collect scientific materials concerning questions of race,"
  • "to give wide diffusion to the scientific material collected"
  • and "to prepare an education campaign based on this information."

Furthermore, the statement recalled that by these resolutions, the UNESCO was taking…

up again, after a lapse of fifteen years, a project which the International Institute for Intellectual Co-operation has wished to carry through but which it had to abandon in deference to the appeasement policy of the pre-war period. The race question had become one of the pivots of Nazi ideology and policy. Masaryk and Beneš took the initiative of calling for a conference to re-establish in the minds and consciences of men everywhere the truth about race… Nazi propaganda was able to continue its baleful work unopposed by the authority of an international organisation.

The aim was clear. However, the UNESCO was not so naive to believe that science alone could convince humanity to let aside racial prejuidices which were deeply rooted in emotional factors:

Knowledge of the truth does not always help change emotional attitudes that draw their real strength from the subconscious or from factors beside the real issue." But it could "however, prevent rationalizations of reprehensive acts or behaviour prompted by feelings that men will not easily avow openly.

The UNESCO statement condemned any attempt, on both scientific and moral grounds, to relate intelligence to racial factors, stating that "At the moment, it is impossible to demonstrate that there exist between 'races' differences of intelligence and temperament other than those produced by cultural environment." It considered racism as a "particularly vicious and mean expression of the caste spirit," thus paying close attention to theories issued for example by eugenicist Georges Vacher de Lapouge (1854-1936), who equated race with social class.[1]

The Race Question asserted that…

Concern for human dignity demands that all citizens be equal before the law… no matter what their physical or intellectual differences may be… The conscience of all mankind demand that this be true for all the peoples of the earth. It matters little, therefore, whether the diversity of men's gift be the result of biological or cultural factors.

Not only scientific racist theories were thoroughly disqualified by modern research, but racist ideology in itself was adamantly criticized as contrary to the humanist foundations which had laid the groundworks for the creation of the United Nations at the June 1945 San Francisco Conference. The nature versus nurture debate was thus rejected as irrelevant to politicals or legal concerns.

The statement

The statement itself was composed of various points:

  • Scientists agree that "mankind is one: that all men belong to the same species: Homo sapiens"
  • "From the biological standpoint, the species Homo Sapiens is made up of a number of populations…" defined by genetic factors. However, the genes "responsible for the hereditary differences between men are always few when compared to the whole genetic constitution of man and to the vast number of genes common to all human beings… This means that the likeliness among men are far greater than their differences."
  • "A race, from the biological standpoint, may therefore be defined as one of the group of populations constituting the species Homo sapiens… These represent variations, as it were, on a common theme." Differences are attributed to "somewhat different biological histories."
  • "In short, the term 'race' designates a group or population characterised by some concentrations, relative as to frequency and distribution, of hereditary particles (genes) or physical characters, which appear, fluctuate, and often disappear in the course of time by reason of geographic and or cultural isolation…"
  • The fifth point criticised the layperson use of the term "race": "To most people, a race is any group which they choose to describe as a race. Thus, many national, religious, geographic, linguistic or cultural groups have, in such loose usage, been called 'race', when obviously Americans are not a race, nor are Englishmen, nor are Frenchmen, nor any other national group. Catholics, Protestants, Moslems and Jews are not races… People who live in Iceland or England or India are not races; nor are people who are culturally Turkish or Chinese…"
  • UNESCO also advocated that: "National, religious, geographic, linguistic and cultural groups do not necessarily coincide with racial groups: and the cultural traits of such groups have no demonstrated genetic connection with racial traits. Because serious errors of this kind are habitually committed when the term "race" is used in popular parlance, it would be better when speaking of human races to drop the term "race" altogether and speak of 'ethnic groups'."
  • Further points stressed the "educability" and "plasticity" of the human being and the variability of biological populations, which evolved and interbred together. It adamantly rejected any "degeneration" theory claiming that such miscegenation "produces biologically bad effects." "There is, therefore, no biological justification for prohibiting inter-marriage.."
  • The 14th point asserted that : "The biological fact of race and the myth of 'race' should be distinguished. For all practical social purposes, 'race' is not so much a biological phenomenon as a social myth" which has "created an enormous amount of human and social damage." It "deprives civilisation of the effective co-operation of productive minds." The UNESCO cited Charles Darwin's praise of cosmopolitanism in The Descent of Man (2nd ed., 1875, pp.187-8). It criticised theories of psychological egoism, underlining that "the whole of human history show that a co-operative spirit is not only natural to men, but more deeply rooted than any self-seeking tendencies. If this were not so we should not see the growth of integration and organisation of his communities which the centuries and the millennia plainly exhibits."
  • The last points underlined that equality was a moral principle that had nothing to do with any biological or cultural differences. It recalled that "scientific evidence indicates that the range of mental capacities in all ethnic groups is much the same." It underlines the difference and non-correspondence between great "social changes" and change in the constitution of ethnic groups.

The 1950 UNESCO statement concluded by asserting once more that "biological differences as exist between members of different ethnic groups have no relevance to problems of social and political organisations, moral life and communication between human beings" and implicitly referred to Aristotle's definition of humankind by stating that "Man is born a social being."

Legacy and Others UNESCO statements

The UNESCO later published other similar statements on racism. In Race and History (1952), the ethnologist Claude Lévi-Strauss argued in favour of cultural relativism, through the famous metaphor of cultures as different trains crossing each other in various directions and speeds, thus each one seeming to progress to himself while others supposedly kept immobile.[2]

UNESCO later published Cyril Bibby's monograph Race, Prejudice, and Education (1959), and Lévi-Strauss Race and Culture (1971). Others books published by renowned scholars, on the influence of Alfred Métraux, anthropologist at the UN, included titles such as Race and Psychology, Race and Biology, Race Mixture, Racial Myths, The Roots of Prejudice, and The Concept of Race: Results of an Inquiry.[3]

In 2005, Claude Lévi-Strauss, then 97 years old, declared at the 60th anniversary of the UNESCO :

In the wake of the Second World War and the horror inspired by the racist doctrines that gave rise to the massacre of entire populations and concentration camps, it was only normal that UNESCO give top priority to the scientific critique and moral condemnation of the notion of race,

While the director-general Koïchiro Matsuura recalled that since 1951 UNESCO had prepared several declarations on race, Claude Levi-Strauss praised the work of the UNESCO, stating in response to Matsuura:

A task made all the more necessary by certain recent and worrying publications from biologists attempting to give new recognition to the notion of race – albeit with a different interpretation than in the past – but which nonetheless must be handled delicately.[4]

The 1950 UNESCO statement contributed to the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court desegregation decision in "Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka".[5]

Supremacism is the belief that a particular race, religion, gender, species, sexual orientation, belief system or culture is superior to others and entitles those who identify with it to dominate, control or rule those who do not.

Historical examples

Many anthropologists consider male supremacism, also known as "male dominance" or "patriarchy", to exist in all cultures throughout human history. Others note that this often has been balanced by various forms of female authority. Such supremacy is enforced through a variety of cultural, political and interpersonal strategies.[1] Since the 19th century there have been a number of feminist movements opposed to male supremacism and working for equal legal rights and protections for women in all cultural, political and interpersonal relations.[2][3][4]

Centuries of European colonialism of the Americas, Africa and Asia was excused by white supremacist attitudes.[5] During the 19th century the phrase "The White Man's Burden" was widely used to justify imperialist policy as a noble enterprise.[6][7]

Following the American Civil War, southern white veterans of the Confederate States of America formed the secret society known as the Ku Klux Klan to restore white supremacy after the Reconstruction period.[8] They preached supremacy over all other races, as well as over Jews, Catholics and other minorities.

Black supremacy arose in America as a counter to white supremacism.[9] Groups advocating some version of it include Nation of Islam, the New Black Panther Party, the Black Hebrew Israelites and the Bobo Shanti section of the Rastafari movement.

During the early 20th century until the end of World War II – the Shōwa era – the propaganda of the Empire of Japan used the old concept of hakko ichiu to support the idea that the Yamato was a superior race, destined to rule Asia and the Pacific. Many documents such as Kokutai no Hongi, Shinmin no Michi and An Investigation of Global Policy with the Yamato Race as Nucleus referred to this concept of racial supremacy.

During the 1930s and 1940s Adolf Hitler's German Nazi Party preached the existence of an Aryan master race and attempted to establish through conquest such an empire throughout Europe. They were World War II "Axis powers" allies of the Japanese empire.

Both academics and antisemites describe "Jewish supremacism," especially related to Israel and Zionism. Author Minna Rozen describes the 17th century Jews of Jerusalems' view of themselves as a unique and elite group among Jews as "supremacism."[10] Former Israeli and professor of history Ilan Pappé writes that the First Aliyah to Israel "established a society based on Jewish supremacy."[11] Columbia University associate professor Joseph Massad holds that "Jewish supremacism" always has been a "dominating principle" of religious and secular Zionism.[12][13] Former Israeli musician and writer Gilad Atzmon labels the ideology he calls "Jewishness" as "very much a supremacist, racist tendency."[14] The Anti-Defamation League condemns as "antisemitic" writings about "Jewish Supremacism" by authors David Duke and Kevin MacDonald.[15] Others have condemned such allegations on white supremacist or racist web sites.[16]

A prejudice is a prejudgement: i.e. a preconceived belief, opinion, or judgment made without ascertaining the facts of a case. The word prejudice is most commonly used to refer to a preconceived judgment toward a group of people or a single person because of race, social class, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, political beliefs , religion, line of work or other personal characteristics. It also means a priori beliefs (without knowledge of the facts) and includes "any unreasonable attitude that is unusually resistant to rational influence."[1] Although positive and negative prejudice both exist, when used negatively, "prejudice" implies fear and antipathy toward such a race.

  • Cognitive Prejudice refers to what people believe to be true. metaphysical or methodological philosophy at the expense of other philosophies which may offer a more complete theoretical explanation.
  • Affective Prejudice refers to what people like and dislike: for example, in attitudes toward members of particular classes such as race, ethnicity, national origin, or creed.
  • Behavioral Prejudice refers to how people are inclined to behave. It is regarded as an attitude because people do not act on their feelings. An example of conative prejudice may be found in expressions of what should be done if the opportunity presents itself.

These three types of prejudice are correlated, but all need not be present in a particular individual. Someone may believe that a particular group possesses low levels of intelligence, but harbor no ill feeling towards that group. A group may be disliked because of intense competition for jobs, but still recognize no differences between groups.

"Discrimination" is a behavior (an action), with reference to unequal treatment of people because they are members of a particular group. Farley also put discrimination into three categories:[2]

  • Personal / Individual Discrimination is directed toward a specific individual and refers to any act that leads to unequal treatment because of the individual's real or perceived group membership.
  • Legal Discrimination refers to "unequal treatment, on the grounds of group membership, that is upheld by law."[3] Apartheid is an example of legal discrimination, as are also various post-Civil war laws in the southern United States that legally disadvantaged negros with respect to property rights, employment rights and the exercise of constitutional rights.
  • Institutional Discrimination refers to unequal treatment that is entrenched in basic social institutions resulting in advantaging one group over another. The Indian caste system and European feudal system are historical examples of institutional discrimination.

As with prejudice generally, these three types of discrimination are correlated and may be found to varying degrees in individuals and society at large. Many forms of discrimination based upon prejudice are outwardly acceptable in most societies.

"Pure race" or the master race (German: die Herrenrasse, About this sound das Herrenvolk (help·info)) was a concept adopted as Nazi ideology which holds that the Aryan Races (including the Nordic peoples), one of the branches of what in the late-19th and early-20th century was called the Aryan race, represent an ideal and "pure race". It derives from 19th-century racial theory, which posited a hierarchy of races placing Aboriginal Australians and "African savages" at the bottom of the hierarchy while Aryans (primarily Northern and Western Europeans consisting of Germans, Swedes, Icelanders, Norwegians, Danish, Irish, French, English and Dutch) at the top, and Southern Europeans (Spanish, Italian and Portuguese) somewhere in the middle.

Meyers Blitz-Lexikon (Leipzig, 1932) shows a famous German war hero (Karl von Müller) as an example of the Nordic type.

Main article: Nordic race

The origins of the Nazi version of the theory of the master race were in 19th-century racial theories of Count Arthur de Gobineau, who argued that cultures degenerate when distinct races mix. It was believed at this time that Southern European and Eastern European peoples were racially mixed with non-European Moors from across the Mediterranean Sea, while Northern Europeans and Western Europeans remained pure. Proponents of Nordic theory further argued that Nordic peoples had developed innate toughness and determination due to the harsh, challenging climate in which they evolved. The racial ideal of these theorists was the tall, blond and blue- or green-eyed Nordic individual.

The philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer was one of the earliest proponents of a theory presenting a hierarchical racial model of history, attributing civilisational primacy to the "white races" who gained their sensitivity and intelligence by refinement in the rigorous north.

The highest civilisation and culture, apart from the ancient Indians and Egyptians, are found exclusively among the white races; and even with many dark peoples, the ruling caste or race is fairer in colour than the rest and has, therefore, evidently immigrated, for example, the Brahmans, the Incas, and the rulers of the South Sea Islands. All this is due to the fact that necessity is the mother of invention because those tribes that emigrated early to the north and there gradually became white, had to develop all their intellectual powers and invent and perfect all the arts in their struggle with need, want and misery, which in their many forms were brought about by the climate. This they had to do in order to make up for the parsimony of nature and out of it all came their high civilisation.[1]

Nevertheless, such theorists usually accepted that considerable variety of hair and eye colour existed even within the racial categories they recognised. Contrary to popular myth, the Nazis themselves did not discriminate against Germans who were not blonde or light-eyed, or had only one of these features. Adolf Hitler and most Nazi officials had dark hair and were considered to be "Aryans".

The postulated superiority of these people was said to make them born leaders, or a "master race". Other authors included Guido von List, and his associate Lanz von Liebenfels, and the British racial theorist Houston Stewart Chamberlain, all of whom felt that the white race and Germanic peoples were superior to others, and that given the purification of the white race and German people from the races who were "polluting" it, a new millenarian age of Aryan god-men would arrive.

Germanization between 1939 and 1945

Nazi policy stressed the superiority of the Nordic race, a sub-section of the white European population defined by anthropometric models of racial difference. The Nordic race was said to comprise of only the Germanic peoples (Germans, Norwegians, Danes, Swedes, Finland-Swedes [2], Estonia-Swedes, Faroese, Icelanders, English and the Dutch).

From 1940 the government in occupied Poland divided the population into different groups. Each group had different rights, food rations, allowed strips in the cities, separated residential areas, special schooling systems, public transportation and restricted restaurants. Later adapted in all Nazi-occupied countries by 1942, the Germanization program used the racial caste system of reserving certain rights to one group and barred privileges to another. In addition with their predominant religion and ethnicity per individual of that ethnic group or nationality. Listed from the most privileged to the least:[citation needed]

  • Germans from Germany (Reichdeutsche) – Nordic Germans are said most favorable, but all German citizens are in the top category.
  • Germans from outside, active ethnic Germans, honorary "Aryans" from axis European countries in Volksliste category 1 (see Volksdeutsche).
  • Other Germanic peoples closely related to Germans (Norwegians, Danes, Swedes, Finland-Swedes, Estonia-Swedes, Faroese, Icelanders, English, Northern French, and the Dutch) but treated as categories 1 and 2 in most privileges, especially pro-Nazi sympathizers.
  • Italians (particularly from regions north of Rome, e.g. Tuscany, Lombardy, etc.), Spaniards (particularly Basques), Occitans, and Portuguese were treated as category 2 and 3, especially pro-Nazi sympathizers (e.g. Fascist Italy and Francoist Spain diplomats). Some southern Italians were treated as least (Suspicion of miscegenation with African and Semitic peoples), but within the same category.
  • Celtic/Gaelic peoples of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
  • Highlanders (Goralenvolk): an attempt to split the Polish nation by using local collaborators.
  • Hungarians, Estonians, and Finns (despite their non Indo-European origins), Baltic peoples (Lithuanians and Latvians) and Romanians, Bulgarians and Croats.
  • Ukrainians: Many were part of Waffen SS divisions (Galicia), while others were exterminated as partisans suspected in supporting

Main article: Aryan race

The term Aryan derives from the Sanskrit word (ā́rya) आर्य (meaning:Noble), which derived from arya, the original Indo-Iranian autonym. Also, the word Iran is the Persian word for land/place of the Aryan[3](see also Iranian peoples). From the footsteps of the Pamir mountains and in areas in northern Afghanistan like Balkh (the main city of Zoroastrianism) the Aryans moved to the other parts of Iran and Hindustan.(see also Balkh). It remained as a key city for the spread of Aryan Civilization for several centuries (the name for the Sassanian Empire in Middle Persian is Eran Shahr which means Aryan Empire [4]).

Following the ideas of Gobineau and others, the Nazi theorist Alfred Rosenberg claimed that these were a dynamic warrior people who originated in northern climates, from which they migrated south, eventually reaching India. They were supposed to be the ancestors of the ancient Germanic tribes, who shared their warrior values. Rosenberg claimed that Christianity was an alien Semitic slave-morality inappropriate to the warrior Aryan master race and thus supported a melange of aspects of Hindu Vedic and Zoroastrian teachings, along with pre-Christian European paganism, which he considered to be distinctively Aryan in character.

In Nazi Germany, a so-called mixed marriage of an "Aryan" with an "Untermensch" was forbidden. To maintain the purity of the Germanic master race, eugenics was practiced. In order to eliminate "defective" citizens, the T-4 Euthanasia Program was administered by Karl Brandt to rid the country of the mentally retarded or those born with genetic deficiencies, as well as those deemed to be racially inferior. Additionally, a programme of compulsory sterilisation was undertaken which resulted in the forced operations of hundreds of thousands of individuals. Many of these policies are generally seen as being related to what eventually became known as the Holocaust.

Rais Yatim says: think "a thousand times" before entering a mixed marriage

According to studies only three out of ten mixed marriages work. In response, Information, Communication and Culture Minister, Rais Yatim has cautioned that young people should think "a thousand times" before committing to such unions.

The minister cautioned that incidents of marriage breakups involving Caucasians (coloquially referred to as mat salleh) happened more frequently, as compared to thove involving other ethnics group.
Rais was commenting on results of studies conducted from the years 1995 to 1998.
However, in a statement to Malaysian paper, Utusan Malaysia, he said that "mixed marriages in Malaysia involving local people who had converted to Islam, whether men or women, are more successful than those that involved partners from the West."
According to the minister, more information about these studies could be obtained from the civil marriage registers in the sharia archives in Johor and the Federal Territory.
When asked about the recent split between local celebrity and star of Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam, Maya Karin, 31 and her English husband, Steven David Shorthose, 41, Rais said they had only been "in love" and were to blame for not considering their cultural differences.
According to the Malaysian Mirror, he went on further to say that "the reality is that those who want to go into mixed marriages have a lot of obstacles to go through. Marriage failures are due to cultural and religious differences as well as the upbringing they go in their respective countries."

"Most of the marriages are a result of 'short-term love affairs' that survive for a brief period before each of the spouses go back to the cultural and religious beliefs they grew up with."
Rais continues to caution about the legalities of such issues.

"It's not that simple to get a Malaysian citizenship. In this sense, it is easier if it involves a foreign woman marrying a Malaysian man than otherwise."
"This is because the status of citizenship, under Section 16 and 17 of the Federal Constitution, is based on the paternal consideration not maternal."
"What more, if the couple has a child or children. The father is likely to 'snatch away' the kids to England or Europe, for instance."
"It is, perhaps, better for those involved in mixed marriages not to have children."

Meanwhile, Maya Karin attended the Environment Integrity forum at the Malaysian Institute for Integrity on last week and made an indirect reference to her domestic woes. She admitted that her two-year marriage to Steven is indeed facing problems but she is not about to go into hiding.

In an interview with the Daily Chilli, Maya said she is trying hard to save her marriage. The couple married in August 2008 in Italy and Steven is a mathematics teacher at an international school in Kuala Lumpur.

Maya declined to comment on the cause.

"It is not true that we're having problems because of cultural differences, being a child of mixed parentage myself, cultural differences have never been an issue to me."

Read this from the Star, A mistake to frown upon mixed marriages

IT is with dismay that I read about the comments "think a thousand times" before entering into a mixed marriage by Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim lately.

It would have been far more appropriate had he said "think a thousand times" before taking the plunge irrespective of whom you wanted to marry rather than narrow the field to inter-racial marriage.

He stated that studies conducted between 1995 and 1998 by "several sociologists in the country had shown that seven out of 10 mixed marriages end in divorce".

He did not elaborate on the credentials of the so-called "sociologists" and who assigned them to do the research and for what purpose. Neither did he explain why these sociologists did not do a parallel study on same race/religion marriages that ended in divorce. Had a parallel study been done, then one could compare the figures for a fairer and more legitimate comment to be made.

As a minister, he must be aware that divorce cuts across the board and is irrespective of race or religion. In fact, the divorce rates lately in the country were so conspicuous that the Cabinet decided to allocate RM15mil to oversee the immediate needs of divorced Muslim women.

He went on to say that "the failure of marriage is caused by cultural differences, religion and how a person is raised". I am no sociologist but am of the opinion that although mixed-marriages may be more challenging, it is a misconception to think in our modern time of globalisation that the reasons for the breakdown of mixed-marriages are unique. In fact, when a marriage breaks down, the same reasons generally apply — whether mixed or not.

Perhaps his memory should be refreshed by what Umno stalwart and the then senior Minister, the late Khir Johari, said in reply to a question when I was an MP, on how best to bring Malaysians closer together — inter-marriages!

In the past, people used to argue that children of mixed parentage would face unique problems but this has proven to be a myth. History has shown that many children born to mixed marriages have triumphed beyond compare: genius golfer Tiger Woods, superstar actress Halle Berry and the 44th President of the United States Barrack Obama, to name a few.

Now that the Prime Minister has 1 Malaysia as his battle cry to unite Malaysians, it appears a little incongruous to pour cold water on the prospect of mixed-marriages although we understand that he must have meant well.

Think A Thousand Times ...

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 03:09 AM PST

I'm too busy with my work today running around getting things done for my clients and also with some production work to complete. But I did have time to browse the net a little cos I was searching for some free seo software but came across this article from the Star Online web portal written by Dr. A Soorian.

He wrote about some comment that was sprouted out by one of our intelligent and learned ministers about mixed marriages. Here's an extract of that article.

... It is with dismay that I read about the comments 'think a thousand times' before entering into a mixed marriage by Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim lately.

It would have been far more appropriate had he said 'think a thousand times' before taking the plunge irrespective of whom you wanted to marry rather than narrow the field to inter-racial marriage.

He stated that studies conducted between 1995 and 1998 by 'several sociologists in the country had shown that seven out of 10 mixed marriages end in divorce'.

He did not elaborate on the credentials of the so-called 'sociologists' and who assigned them to do the research and for what purpose ...

Yes, I too would like to know the credentials of these so-called 'sociologist' myself. He went on further saying ...

'... the failure of marriage is caused by cultural differences, religion and how a person is raised'.

Hogwash I say! And these remarks are coming from our Minister of Information, Communications and Culture! I am shocked, really I am. For a country that thrives on a multi-racial background and with mixed marriages being common today, we have a neanderthal from a bygone era coming up with silly statements like these.

Yes, I do find it silly cos my wife and me are of a different race altogether. Even my two best buddies are married to women from a different race. And I have lots of friends with spouses of a different race or backgrounds and we're all doing fine. Trust me, we didn't need to 'think a thousand times' about it.

Marriages fall apart not because of cultural differences or religion. If you love someone, then you could be from Neptune and it would not matter one bit. Marriages fall apart most of the time because of a failure to communicate, neglect, lack of understanding, growing apart, infidelity, dishonesty, lack of commitment and but most definitely not because of cultural differences or religion.

And people wonder why we're getting so much bad press around the world. With ministers like these, it's no surprise anymore ... siggghhh ...

I Want To Smack Telekom Malaysia

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 02:23 AM PST

On February 1, Wuan and I went to TMpoint at Ampang Point to do several things. First was to cancel my phone account in Penang, second to disconnect Wuan's phone here, third to apply for a phone here under my name and get the OKU entitlement (waiver of monthly rental), cancel Wuan's Streamyx account and finally apply for a Streamyx 1.0Mbps OKU Package for RM66/month. The service counter was on the upper floor and Wuan had to go up by herself to do the necessary while I waited at the ground floor.

The counter staff told Wuan that we do not need to go through the hassles of cancelling and opening accounts. We could apply for the discount for Wuan's existing phone account by filling up some forms, submitting our ICs, my Kad Kenal Diri OKU and our marriage certificate. At the same time, we could apply for an upgrade to Wuan's Streamyx the same way. We did not have the last item with us, so the staff gave us an email address and fax number for us to send the marriage certificate to which we duly did when we got back home.

Nothing happened after a few days' wait. I spoke to three persons at Telekom Malaysia's call centre but they could not do anything. Wuan and I went to TMPoint again to enquire on February 11. I waited in the car as we could not find a parking space. The same staff who served Wuan previously attended to her again. He said he did not receive the marriage certificate and worst of all, he could not locate the forms that we submitted. So we started the application process all over again.

On March 3, I Twittered about the predicament of having to wait for so long and the Streamyx account still not upgraded. Pierce of blog.kuchingfest.com got @TMCorp to respond to my complaint. In fact Pierce had given me the email address of the CEO of TMNet earlier but I told him I did not want to escalate the issue so high up yet. Perhaps, I should have, to save myself from so much grief. I provided details to @TMCorp via direct message and someone called Wuan to check the next day. I had expected the matter to be resolved by yesterday looking at how long our applications were not attended to. Nothing happened.

After nearly 1 month from the second time we submitted the application and still did not get an upgrade, I got impatient and Twittered about it again today. Pierce picked up the matter and directed it to En. Rahimi Jalaluddin from Business Development at TM Consumer. En. Rahimi gave me his contacts via Facebook. I called to provide him with the details which he promised to look into and get back to me by tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be resolved soonest possible. Thanks Pierce. I owe you one. Pierce also put up an entry on this issue here. It is a pity that I need to go so high up to get attention to my complaint. What if it is someone else who do not know somebody who knows somebody high up at TM? How is he going to get his issue resolved.

Jangan Mimpi Umno Kuasai Selangor- Azmin

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 02:51 AM PST

Beliau turut mengulas kejayaan Konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat Selangor 7 Mac lalu termasuk tindakan ganas polis menganggu majlis ceramah yang diadakan Pakatan Rakyat sempena ulang tahun kedua pentadbirannya.

"Namun asakan masih lagi berlaku.

SK/TVS

Bekas Ahli Parlimen BN Mengaku Bersalah Tipu Bank

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 02:53 AM PST

-Bernama

Even if there isn't enough sugar to make it sweet enough, I'd drink it nevertheless. I remember a certain someone told me that it helps reduce body odour at least. lol. And burns fat! I doubt that second statement but whatever. That's not the point.

I haven't told my parents about the confirmation news just yet. I know they are anxious and worried at the same time. I haven't spoken to them at all about it since the first time I mentioned vaguely that I may have been identified to go. Abah just said, "It's unstable. Think about this carefully..."

But an unstable person going to an unstable country... I don't think there's anything to lose. For both. Right? It's not like I'll be missed or anything like that. Sure. One or two. That's about it. And oh, I'm the only female in the whole team thus far, I think. I loike... the attention. Ngeh ngeh ngeh.

Wanna help me squeeze the lemons?

N-Dubz ft. Mr Hudson – Playing With Fire

lyrics below.

I don't slip or trip when she asks me where I've been (Where you been?)
One big smile on my face d-d-darling it's just you and me (you and me)
Now I'm on some Alfie behaviour, I'll call you back later
Too many fish in the sea for me
But when the lights come on and what's her name is gone
I realise where I'm supposed to be

I tried to believe every word of your sweet story
But intuition keeps telling me
Your making a fool outta me

'Cos I'm such a good liar
Just admit it
I never did it
Yes you did
No I didn't

I'm playing with fire
Just admit it
I never did it
I know you did it
No I didn't (yes you did)

'Cos I'm such a good liar
(Mr Hudson Ad-Lib)
I can't help myself I keep playing with fire
(Mr Hudson Ad-Lib)
(Tulisa Ad-Lib)
Such a good liar

Thoughts running wild through the night as I watch you sleep (She's getting closer)
I can't help but check his texts while he's passed out next to me (It's only a matter of time)
I'm on some CSI behaviour, Who's gonna save ya?
You'll be the fool when the truth comes out
But when those lights come on and what's her face is gone we're straight back to the same routine

I tried to believe every word of your sweet story
But intuition keeps telling me
Your making a fool outta me

'Cos I'm such a good liar
Just admit it
I never did it
Yes you did
No I didn't

I'm playing with fire
Just admit it
I never did it
I know you did it
No I didn't (yes you did)

'Cos I'm such a good liar
(Mr Hudson Ad-Lib)
I can't help myself I keep playing with fire
(Mr Hudson Ad-Lib)
(Tulisa Ad-Lib)
Such a good liar

Living life in disguise
Can't keep up with these lies
She do anything to try and catch me out
But I never leave no signs
In my heart we were meant to be
Guys like me we be like 2 or 3
I can't help myself I love girls (what)
I get a kick out of playin' with fire
I get a kick out of playin' with fire
Playing with fire
Playing with fire
She ain't going no where, you know why?

'Cos I'm such a good liar
Just admit it
I never did it
Yes you did it
No I didn't

I'm playing with fire
Just admit it
I never did it
I know you did it
No I didn't (yes you did)

'Cos I'm such a good liar
Just admit it
I never did it
Yes you did it
No I didn't

I'm playing with fire
Just admit it
I never did it
I know you did it
No I didn't (yes you did)

83% Responden Kata Tidak Wajar PAS Terima Kemasukan Zulkifli Noordin

Posted: 09 Mar 2010 01:23 AM PST
