Amazing card throwing

A Korean dude who spends too much time playing card-throwing…

The video is a viral advertising campaign by Samsung Imaging to promote its digital camcorder. Not sure if the guy can do that for real or the video clips were cleverly edited instead (perhaps a bit of both)… it looks pretty cool regardless.

Customer is always right

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 10:43 AM PDT

I want to tell you this story. I went out to church just now, for Holy Thursday's mass. After church, me and my friends went to Chinatown in KB a.k.a Jalan Kebun Sultan to eat, the LAST SUPPER lah konon since tomorrow I'm fasting whole day (Good Friday).

Then, I ordered pork porridge from this aunty. Then, we sat at our table waiting for our foods to come. After few minutes, the aunty came. But I can't hear she was screaming who ordered the porridge. I can't hear her since she was standing around 4 to 5 meters from me. Plus, I sat ''membelakangkan'' her. The surrounding was noisy, biasalah, in a coffee shop. Nobody can hear her. Look at the picture below.

My friend told me, she was wandering around to find whose porridge is this. She forgot my face. Tu lah, when people order, make sure you write it. I told her my table already. That was her fault, she doesn't has a systematic ordering system.

Then, when she looked at my friend, my friend said nobody ordered that porridge, because I ordered pork porridge, the one she hold was fish porridge. Of course my friend said it was not my order. That time, I wasn't aware of her since I was busy sms-ing my sister. Suddenly, she stormed into our table and marah-marah, bla...bla...bla......I was blurred. (o_o)

I couldn't catch any of her £$"^&(*%$! words, since I was in shocked. When she mentioned about porridge, only then I answered her. She still mad in crazy and my junior constantly answered her back. Yalar, it wasn't our fault. The only thing I couldn't understand, how dare she scolded us, we were the CUSTOMERS. Customer never being scolded, we are always right. That was her fault, not us. Shit punya aunty!

The aunty said to my junior, she shouldn't answered her scream because it was not her order. The problem is, that order wasn't mine, I never asked for fish, I want PORK. Some more, I can't hear when she screaming around about the porridge. She shouldn't do that to her customer.

From now on, I banned that aunty's stall. Yes, if you happen to go to Food Court in Chinatown KB, please BAN that food court (porridge stall). Uncivilized-crazy-menopause-psycho aunty! I asked for small bowl, she gave me the big one! Ciss, bukan sedap pun. Menyampah aku.

She was lucky I'm still observing the Holy Week, and I tried to hinder myself from getting angry. If I'm in my normal hot-temper mood, I'm sure I'll take that bowl and simbahkan that porridge at her face. Ingat saya apa?! She doesn't respect her customers at all! We gave that money to her! I declare, the money that I gave to her is HARAM!

p/s: Menyampah aku dengan makcik gila tu!

Gobala Diarah Keluar Dewan

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 09:37 AM PDT

- BERNAMA

MEB: Fomca, MTUC Bantah Penggunaan Dana KWSP

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 08:31 AM PDT

-TVS

Najib argued that Muhyiddin's 'Malay first, Malaysian second' statement does not contradict his 1Malaysia concept.

Tetapi Najib sudah lupa...oh, tidak. Najib berasal dari Indonesia dan berketurunan Bugis.

In fact, he is orang Bugis and proud of his roots that is traced all the way to Sulawesi, Indonesia.

A Zoo in Ipoh - The Perak State Assembly

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 06:38 AM PDT

It was amusing to have read that on the first day of the Perak state assembly sitting on April 30 went on smoothly despite an attempt by the former Speaker Siva to take the Speakers' seat on the that day. He was twarted by the sergeant-at-arms. Calm before the storm.

Then the next day all hell broke lose. Why did I say it was amusing? The situation on the second day was something that was anticipated the only thing was how much a trouble the opposition members intended to make.

I think it is high time for the opposition members to play the constructive role of opposition, rather than a destructive role. I call these 3 Stooges, Nizar (the former MB) and the cousins Ngeh and Nga and the clown Siva to stop the whatever that they are doing or planning to do. It seemed to me that they had put in much effort to strategise to distrupt the proceedings of the assembly rather than putting in the brains together (should they have any) in thinking how they can improve the rakyat and help the people who had elected them to be the YBs they are today.

Sometimes I think they don't understand and respect the law, that the court had decided who is the government of the day. Nizar ever since the shift of majority, and by default no longer the MB and also after the court so decided who is the rightful MB, seem not to be able to accept the decisions. He is from PAS, the Islamist party (or shall I say a party which rides on religion, politicing religion, rather than practicing politics guided by the principles of religion) had been acting like gila talak, a husband who cannot accept the fact that he is now divorced.

Siva the clown, seem to love the Speaker's seat or the robe that the Speaker wear or is it that he loves the power of the Speaker that he send out invitations on the Speaker's letterhead when he is no longer the man. Grow up la brader.

Yes one of the posters the oppostion members were carrying said "The World is Watching," how ironic the it cuts both ways, the world is also watching the new zoo in Ipoh.

Anwar Nak Diheret Ke JK Khas

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 06:04 AM PDT

-mk

True democracy would lead to better race relations in Myanmar

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 03:14 AM PDT

Even if there are fair anti-racism enactment laws and unbiased judges, I never wish to sue anyone for the Racial Discriminations I had suffered during my studies and working in Myanmar because  I appreciated not only my lecturers and professors' teachings but even the Bigot, Racist, Xenophobic Burmese-Chinese mixed blooded General Ne Win's Socialist Government for allowing me to study Medicine with the subsidized prices.

I accepted my faith and may even choose to walk the same path as I could not give-up my present position. I accepted all those RACIAL DISCRIMINATIONS I had encountered or suffered as blessings in disguise.

But I hope and believe that the present government is much better than Racist Ne Win and General Khin Nyunt regimes. With the coming election and changing to democracy, the race relations would definitely improve.

If there is a real democracy in Myanmar, any party or candidate who wish to get the Myanmar Muslims' votes could not ignore the EQUAL RIGHTS OF MYAMAR MUSLIMS as citizens or any other Ethnic Minorities or any Minority Religious Groups' rights.

We all must also accept that Democracy is not the MOB rule of the majourity on minorities. Majourity Myanmar Buddhists have a duty to protect the rights of minority races and religious groups. We understand that all the minorities must also love and respect the decisions of majourity.

But not like POPULAR democratic leader PM U Nu who declared the Buddhism as the religion of the State. The undeniable history had proved that it put fuel to the increase the civil war.

I am pleased that the preset SPDC led by the Senior General Than Shwe had clearly put in the new constitution that most of the people in Myanmar are practicing Buddhism. FULL STOP!

This is according to the first constitution of Burma (now Myanmar) and Malaysia, put in by the advice of WISE FARSIGHTED British advisers.

We all must remember the wise words of our founding father Bogyoke Aung San to the Dedoke U Ba Cho, who requested to announce Buddhism as a State Religion, in the assembly of drawing the pre-Independence constitution.

"All the races and religious groups had fought for Burma's Independence; Christians, Muslims, animists, Indians etc. and if Saya wish to made the Buddhist country even before we got Independence, we all would become DOGS in front of the world. If Saya (Dedoke U Ba Cho) wish to continue with that racist idea, I will resign. I don't want to be part of this."

I closed my arguments.

HONG KONG, April 1 — A Malaysian-Indian has received an out-of-court settlement in a discrimination suit against the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong, although the matter was resolved only 10 years after she passed away feeling discriminated by medical staff here.

According to a South China Morning Post report today, the widower of the late Harinder Veriah, Martin Jacques, had agreed to settle the 2002 suit , which he filed over allegedly discriminatory treatment his wife received from the Ruttonjee Hospital two years before that.

Harinder's case had triggered strong public reaction in the former British colony, and was cited as the impetus behind a 2008 anti-racism enactment here.

In the incident, Jacques charged that the hospital fail to dispense proper medical care towards his late wife, while a doctor on duty at the time responded indifferently to queries over her condition.

Veriah, Jacques said, felt she was being discriminated against.

"I am at the bottom of the pile," Jacques recalled her saying. When he asked what she meant, she replied: "I am the only Indian here. Everyone else is Chinese."

After her death, a Coronor's Court inquest deemed Veriah's death  to have experienced sudden unexplained death during an epileptic seizure. A second inquest in London, returned an open verdict. St Pancras coroner Stephen Chan questioned the standard of care Veriah had received at the hospital and said she had died prematurely.

Jacques welcomed the settlement today, bringing to an end a decade-long battle to win justice for his late wife: "I feel Hari has a semblance of justice."

Nevertheless, he would not be celebrating. "Hari's gone. Nothing can bring her back," he told SCMP.

Meanwhile, a Hospital Authority spokesperson confirmed that the suit had indeed been settled but maintained there was no negligence or discrimination involved in her treatment.

The spokesman said the hospital had repeatedly and categorically denied that Veriah was discriminated against. He noted that the coroner who presided over her inquest in Hong Kong had said the allegation of racial discrimination was only an assertion by Jacques without evidence to substantiate it.

While Jacques' battle has reached a conclusion, the struggle for racial equality in Hong Kong still has some distance to go.

Jacques called the legislation "extremely weak and inadequate and represents only a baby step".

Demi Pertahan Zionis-Israel Umno-BN Sanggup Hukum Anwar

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 02:01 AM PDT

Ditanya penafian APCO, beliau berkata "APCO Malaysia menafikan kenyataan pembangkang, tetapi APCO Worldwide menafikan kenyataan APCO Malaysia. -SK

Clear And Bright

Posted: 01 Apr 2010 12:08 AM PDT

We were a long way from home. The road was long and unfamiliar. Traffic was light, save for the occasional car or motorcycle that sputtered pass us. The surroundings were unfamiliar too. Not a soul was in sight. We were far away from civilization. On the left, rows and rows of tall rubber trees stretched inwards as far as my eyes could see. A drab building, just by the road, its pillars exposed, broke the neat line that the trees made.

Dad parked the car by the grassy road shoulder, under the shadows of overhanging branches not far from the Tua Pek Kong shrine on the other side of the road. On the back seat beside me was a bamboo basket filled with a bundle of joss sticks, candles, several stacks of joss paper, fruits, kuehs, a bottle of Chinese wine, small red plastic cups, chrysanthemums and a glass jar. The glass jar was for the flowers.

As soon as I opened the door, the heat and odours of soil and rotting leaves rushed into the car. Mum reached in and took the basket. We quickly made our way across the road. The sparse clouds above did not provide much relief from the blistering sun. Dried vines entwined the barb wires that separated the hilly land within from the road and perhaps to keep cattle out as well.

We went through the gate where the fence ended and walked up the uneven laterite path. Slabs of grey granite headstones were neatly arranged in rows on our right, just like the rubber trees they were facing. The graves huddled the contour of the hill that was crowned by a tuft of green up in the distance.

Dad lead the way as we carefully made our way across the narrow paths between the headstones on one side and mounds of earth on the other. He instructed me not to step outside the invisible boundaries of the paths but did not say why. Dad stopped at a particular grave. He told me that is where my Ah Kong is buried. I have never met him before. He passed away before I was born.

From where I stood, I could see the entire landscape dominated by a sea of graves with their headstones arranged in rows like dominos. There were pockets of people busy clearing weeds from the mounds, sweeping the graves and praying. Mum began to take out the items from the basket and arranged them before the gravestone. I just stood by and watched.

That was like 35 years ago. I do not even know where my grandparents' grave are now. What I remember most about the cemetary is that it is situated in Kubang Semang. That name has been ingrained in my mind since then because they were not words I heard often.

I miss going to the cemetary during Cheng Beng. These graves, they are the link to my ancestors, the link to my past. Being there gave me a sense of belonging to the clan even though I was too young to understand the significance of it. Wherever my Ah Kong and Ah Mah are, I pray that everything is clear and bright for them now.

Coming soon: “Titanic” 3-D release in spring 2012

Posted: 31 Mar 2010 10:46 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES, March 25 — "Avatar" director James Cameron sees misguided thriftiness in Hollywood studios' latest craze to convert big movie projects from 2-D to 3-D, but the pace of such conversions shows no signs of letting up.
Cameron believes studios are rushing to take advantage of the public's appetite for 3-D films. But using computers to convert standard 2-D movies to 3-D, instead of filming in 3-D, gives audiences a cheaper-looking film and could do more harm than good if audiences get turned off.
He ought to know. Shot in 3-D, "Avatar" is the top-grossing movie of all-time with US$2.7 billion (RM9.2 billion) at box offices.
And Cameron is not the only filmmaker questioning studios' headlong rush to convert films to 3-D, in a brewing battle that pitches major directors against the studios that employ them. "Transformers" maker Michael Bay has questioned the move, too.
"The problem is these decisions should be made by filmmakers, they shouldn't be made by studios, because if it was up to studios they're going to sacrifice quality for lower cost," Cameron said, in an event to promote the April 22 release of the DVD for "Avatar."
Studios are rapidly converting now that Walt Disney Co has seen its 3-D conversion "Alice in Wonderland" sell more than US$570 million in tickets since its March 5 debut.
On April 2, Warner Bros, a division of Time Warner Inc, will release its action movie "Clash of the Titans" as another 2-D to 3-D conversion.
Warner Bros now plans to release all major "tentpole" movies in 3-D, Alan Horn, the studio's chief operating officer, told the movie theatre convention ShoWest last week. He said "conversion to 3-D doesn't lessen" the experience of viewers.
Some estimates put the cost of a conversion as low as US$5 million a film. Shooting in 3-D is far more expensive, industry watchers say, but difficult to determine because "Avatar" is one of the few live-action movies shot in 3-D.
It officially cost US$237 million, although many reports have put the true expense over US$300 million, and much of its cost was because new equipment created to make it.
Cameron said filmmakers "should have been pounding on the gates of the studios saying we want to make movies in 3-D."
"That didn't happen so now they're paying the price, which is a top-down studio cramdown telling them to make their movies in 3-D and they're caught with their pants down," he said.
"Transformers" director Michael Bay has also joined the debate, telling movie industry website Deadline.com this week that he is "not sold right now on the conversion process."
Film purists see conversions as lower quality because it can produce more of a layered look, with slightly less of a smooth and continuous depth perception.
But not all filmmakers are sold on shooting in 3-D, either. "Alice" director Tim Burton told reporters last month there was "no point" shooting his film in 3-D because it would have added one more wrinkle in an already complicated production.
"With all these tools, you can see good 3-D, bad 3-D, good conversion and bad conversions," he said.
Cameron himself plans to convert his 1997 blockbuster "Titanic" for a 3-D release in spring 2012, but he said that is different because he plans to take his time, instead of doing a "slapdash conversion." — Reuters

Mum: The government gave some money for us to build new longhouse.

Me: Wah, really ar?

Mum: It's a sign actually.

Me: What sign?

Mum: There might be election lar. Suddenly gave money for village projects.

Me: Ha ha ha ha

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, my longhouse going to build the new one soon. The picture above is temporary site, because my grandpa's longhouse just moved from the old site. So we had to build the temporary before building the concrete-type. This year Gawai, my uncles are going back to discuss with other villagers what is the new design for our new longhouse. Weeee (^_^)

I'm not saying giving us the money is bad, but it just that, my longhouse folks applied looooonnnngggg time for this project, but yet received the answer. Then, suddenly after few years, baru terhegeh-hegeh mahu bagi. =.=''

Oh, I'm not living in longhouse. This is just my kampung. I live in Bintulu, normal terrace house. This is my granparent's house, I'll go back annually especially during Gawai. But I love the environment.

p/s: Satu lagi projek dot dot dot.

Bekas SU Politik Mahathir DiPenjarakan

Posted: 31 Mar 2010 08:55 PM PDT
