UMNO hypocrites to be exposed!

UMNO hypocrites to be exposed!

UMNO hypocrites to be exposed!

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 10:58 AM PDT

whoaa! i love this!! zaid ibrahim is going to expose those pretend to be goody-goody two-shoes umnoputera who claimed they don't drink, gamble, womanise.

from freemalaysia

PETALING JAYA: PKR supreme council member Zaid Ibrahim has embarked on a mission to expose Umno's "kaki botol", "kaki judi" and "kaki perempuan" – alcoholics, gamblers and womanisers. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Tropicana here, the former law minister said he is set to open the can of worms on the Umno "hypocrites".

"You cannot call me kaki botol and spare the other Umno leaders. We will expose this hypocrisy," vowed the prominent lawyer-turned-politician.

obviously the umnoputera are not aware or choose not to be aware of the quote "let he who sin throw the first stone".

Promising to reveal their names, Zaid, with a twinge of sarcasm, called his tit-for-tat the "Let's get to know our ministers better" campaign.

"They have exposed me and all my shortcomings," he said, referring to Umno's campaign against him during the recent Hulu Selangor by-election, where he was branded an alcoholic and gambler.

Zaid said he could accept the attacks if it were true, but not when the facts are distorted.

"The issue is that (the allegations were) twisted, calling me all sorts of names to influence the voters. That is not right. It's okay, the election is over but there are more to come.

oh yeah! spill the beans, zaid. we do want to get to know our leaders better!

"Since the people know me very well now, I hope they will also get to know their leaders better such as which casinos they frequent, and who are their mistresses," he said.

haha. i luv zaid! yes, do tell. actually we already knew that but we don't have proof. i hope zaid will really get to expose them with solid concrete proof.

However, the Pakatan Rakyat troubleshooter claimed that he was not seeking revenge.

His campaign, Zaid explained, is to let the people know who are the good leaders in order for them to make the correct decision when choosing them.

true. true. we do need to know our leaders better when we want to vote for them.

Hinting that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's name could also be on the list, he said: "I am willing to be exposed if the allegations (against him) are true. So I hope Umno ministers and the prime minister are willing to be exposed as well."

yep. who told them to character assassinated zaid during the hulu selangor by-election? if they exposed zaid, it's only right for zaid now to expose them.

According to Zaid, his campaign would be on a step-by-step basis after collecting the necessary dirt on these leaders.

The former Umno leader also saw nothing wrong in naming the "kakis".

"What is wrong in naming them if we have proof, if we have information. That is the whole idea of knowing your leaders.

"What's there to be ashamed of? If (International Trade and Industry Minister) Mustapha Mohamed has a lot of shares in his wife's name, we will have to show-lah. But that is just an example," he smiled.

yep. if you dare to do it, then dare to be exposed!

Responding to a question, Zaid denied that he would be stooping to the level of his opponents with this shame campaign.

"No, no, no. It is okay to know your leaders, but it is not okay to make false accusations. When you say their level, what level?

"When they exposed me it's okay, What's not okay, is the falsehood and the lies. For example (it was alleged that) I am a 'kaki judi'. I just owned one or two race horses in my lifetime. I was never a gambler, you can ask anybody.

"I don't go to casinos like them. But they portray me (like I do) and that is hard. If I am really a gambler, you should expose me. I cannot be a good leader if I am a gambler. I cannot be a good minister," he said.

"So it is not stooping to their level, that's not what I meant. We don't want to slander people, but the facts about your leaders, you must know, otherwise it's not a free country," he said.

agree with zaid. he's not stooping to his opponents level as he has proof (or so he said), whereas when the umnoputera accused him, they don't have proof. well they even 'manufactured' the proof when they doctored a picture of him drinking.

Zaid also lashed out at former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad who had also lambasted the PKR leader's moral shortcomings in the run-up to the election.

When told that Mahathir had denied consuming alcohol, Zaid laughed. "Of course, he is a hypocrite, I am not. That is the difference. What (else) did you expect him to say?"

Zaid, who admitted to drinking in the past, and has claimed to have since repented, said that he did not consume anything more than what Mahathir and other Umno leaders did.

yes at least zaid admitted.  those umnoputera hypocrites sure did drink once in a while but why dare not admit? oops. i just gave the answer – hypocrites.

Lagi Anwar Diserang Lagi Ramai Sertai PKR

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 08:31 AM PDT

* Ketua Pemuda MIC Cawangan Bandar Bukit Mertajam, M. Pristiraj, 29, Dan Ketua Wanita Mic Cawangan Sungai Rambai, Askusala Kumari, 35.
* Bekas Ketua MCA Bahagian Bukit Mertajam, Tony Peh Choon Peng
* Timbalan Ketua Bahagian PPP Teluk Kemang, S Karupusammy.

* Menteri kesihatan, Datuk Chua Jui Meng
* Setiausaha Parlimen Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri merangkap Naib Presiden MIC, Datuk S. S. Subramaniam.
* Datuk Kalakau Untol, Timbalan Menteri Persekutuan merangkap bekas Senator negeri Sabah sehingga 2005.

Sekurang-kurangnya jika Anita menelefon saya kemudian, saya sudahpun mengetahui sedikit-sebanyak latarbelakang cerita.

Lalu saya terus menelefon Kak Ana.

I consider myself a Malaysian Chinese. In fact, I am a Malaysian Chinese. I am Malaysian first, Chinese second.

If I trace back my roots, I am a Chinese. My great grandparents and grandparents came from China, died and buried somewhere in the suburban of KL So what?

Who cares about being Chinese? Who cares for the Chinese? MCA? HAHAHAHA...Balik negara Cina lah! Then, you can truly fight for the real Chinese! Let me tell you, China don't even care about the Chinese in Malaysia! And you want to fight for the Chinese here? Balik kampung lah!

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the citizenship of non-Malays in the country should never be questioned.

Yes, I am a citizen of Malaysia. Malaysia is my home, not China.

Let us respect, love and tolerate on others of different faith

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 07:14 AM PDT

God had given different recopies to various people around the world at different time. The essence or virtues are same. It is beyond our human knowledge to prove scientifically that amongst all the religions, one only is correct.

Every religion needs the FAITH.

Let us accept and practice our own belief, religion in our heart, in our home and in the Churches, Synagogues, Pagodas, Temples and Masjids etc. as personal affairs.

We need to practice the common good virtues of all the religions when dealing with the others. We should not fight on the differences. After all, if God/Allah wishes to create one religion, one race or all good people just practicing good things without committing any sins, He could easily done or create by using one order.

Facts taken fro Wikipedia

Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments, or Decalogue, are a list of religious and moral imperatives that, according to the Hebrew Bible, were spoken by God (referred to in several names) to the people of Israel from the mountain referred to as Mount Sinai [2] or Horeb,[3] and later authored by God and given to Moses in the form of two stone tablets. They are recognized as a moral foundation in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Division of the Ten Commandments by religion/denomination
Commandment Jewish (Talmudic)* Anglican, Reformed, and other Christian Orthodox Catholic, Lutheran**
I am the Lord your God 1 preface 1 1
You shall have no other gods before me 2 1
You shall not make for yourself an idol 2 2
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God 3 3 3 2
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy 4 4 4 3
Honor your father and mother 5 5 5 4
You shall not murder*** 6 6 6 5
You shall not commit adultery 7 7 7 6
You shall not steal**** 8 8 8 7
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor 9 9 9 8
You shall not covet***** your neighbor's wife 10 10 10 9
You shall not covet***** anything that belongs to your neighbor 10

Catholic Church (1994), sections 2052–2557.[46] References to the Catechism are provided below for each commandment as well as the interpretation used by Lutherans and Catholics. The following text is from Deuteronomy 5:6–5:21[47] New Revised Standard Version

4. "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you."

This commandment emphasizes the family as part of God's design, as well as an extended metaphor that God uses for his relationship with his creation.

5. "(Roman Catholic – New American Bible) You shall not kill / (Lutheran – New International Version) You shall not murder"

The right of states to execute criminals is not absolutely forbidden by this commandment. However, other methods of protecting society (incarceration, rehabilitation) are increasingly available and more in keeping with other Christian moral teaching. Catholics (along with many Lutherans) also consider abortion sinful and a violation of this commandment. War, if rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy are met (that is, the "use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated"), is not a violation because "governments cannot be denied the right of lawful self-defense, once all peace efforts have failed."

6. "Neither shall you commit adultery."

Adultery is the breaking of the holy bond between husband and wife, and is thus a sacrilege. This commandment includes not just the act of adultery, but lust as well.

7. "Neither shall you steal."

8. "Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor."

This commandment forbids misrepresenting the truth in relations with others. This also forbids lying.

9. "Neither shall you covet your neighbor's wife."

10. "Neither shall you desire your neighbor's house, or field, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

In Islam Moses (Musa) is venerated as one of the greatest prophets of God. However, Islam also teaches that the texts of the Torah and the Gospels have been corrupted from their divine originals over the years, due to carelessness and self-interest. Despite this purported corruption, messages from the Torah and the Gospels still coincide closely with certain verses in the Qur'an. This is by-and-large the case with the Ten Commandments. Consequently, despite the Ten Commandments not being explicitly mentioned in the Qur'an they are substantially similar to the following verses in the Qur'an (using Jewish numbering of the Commandments):

  1. "There is no other god beside God." (Qur'an 47:19)
  2. "My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and protect me and my children from worshiping idols." (Qur'an 14:35)
  3. "And make not Allah's (name) an excuse in your oaths against doing good, or acting rightly, or making peace between persons; for Allah is One Who heareth and knoweth all things." (Qur'an 2:224) This quranic verse is not entirely analogous to the Old Testament's "You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God…" Verse 2:224 is explained by the Prophet Muhammad as: "If anyone takes a solemn oath [that he would do or refrain from doing such-and such a thing], and thereupon realizes that something else would be a more righteous course, then let him do that which is more righteous, and let him break his oath and then atone for it" (Bukhari and Muslim; and other variants of the same Tradition in other compilations).
  4. "O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer (Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of GOD, and drop all business." (Qur'an 62:9) According to the teachings of Islam, the Sabbath was abrogated by the revelation for Muhammed. Furthermore, the Sabbath was only decreed for the Jews. (Qur'an 16:124) God, however, ordered Muslims to make every effort to drop all business to attend the congregational (Friday) prayer. Believers are permitted to go about their affairs during the rest of the day.
  5. "….and your parents shall be honoured. As long as one or both of them live, you shall never (even) say to them, "Uff" (the slightest gesture of annoyance), nor shall you shout at them; you shall treat them amicably." (Qur'an 17:23)
  6. "….anyone who murders any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he murdered all the people." (Qur'an 5:32)
  7. "You shall not commit adultery; it is a gross sin, and an evil behaviour." (Qur'an 17:32)
  8. "They shall not steal." (Al-Mumtahanah 60: 12) and "The thief, male or female, you shall cut off their hands as a punishment for their crime, and to serve as an example from God. God is Almighty, Most Wise." (Qur'an 5:38)
  9. "Do not withhold any testimony by concealing what you had witnessed. Anyone who withholds a testimony is sinful at heart." (Qur'an 2:283)
  10. "And do not covet what we bestowed upon any other people. Such are temporary ornaments of this life, whereby we put them to the test. What your Lord provides for you is far better, and everlasting." (Qur'an 20:131)

It can also be noted that in the 17th chapter, "Al-Israa" ("The Night Journey"), verses [Qur'an 17:22], the Qur'an provides a set of moral stipulations which are "among the (precepts of) wisdom, which thy Lord has revealed to thee" that can be reasonably categorised as ten in number. According to S. A. Nigosian, Professor of religious studies at the University of Toronto, these resemble the Ten Commandments in the Bible and "represents the fullest statement of the code of behavior every Muslim must follow".[58] It should be noted however, that these verses are not regarded by Islamic scholars as being somehow set apart from any other moral stipulations in the Qur'an, nor are they regarded as a substitute, replacement or abrogation of some other set of commandments as found in the previous revelations.

  1. Worship only God: Take not with Allah another object of worship; or thou (O man!) wilt sit in disgrace and destitution. (17:22)
  2. Be kind, honourable and humble to one's parents: Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour. (17:23) And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: "My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood." (17:24)
  3. Be neither miserly nor wasteful in one's expenditure: And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift. (17:26) Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful. (17:27) And even if thou hast to turn away from them in pursuit of the Mercy from thy Lord which thou dost expect, yet speak to them a word of easy kindness. (17:28) Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard's) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute. (17:29)
  4. Do not engage in 'mercy killings' for fear of starvation: Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin. (17:31)
  5. Do not commit adultery: Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils). (17:32)
  6. Do not kill unjustly: Nor take life – which Allah has made sacred – except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). (17:33)
  7. Care for orphaned children: Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength…(17:34)
  8. Keep one's promises: …fulfil (every) engagement [i.e. promise/covenant], for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). (17:34)
  9. Be honest and fair in one's interactions: Give full measure when ye measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight: that is the most fitting and the most advantageous in the final determination. (17:35)
  10. Do not be arrogant in one's claims or beliefs: And pursue not that of which thou hast no knowledge; for every act of hearing, or of seeing or of (feeling in) the heart will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). (17:36) Nor walk on the earth with insolence: for thou canst not rend the earth asunder, nor reach the mountains in height. (17:37)

Buddhist ethics, The Five Precepts

  1. To refrain from taking life (non-violence towards sentient life forms), or ahimsā
  2. To refrain from taking that which is not given (not committing theft)
  3. To refrain from sensual (including sexual) misconduct
  4. To refrain from lying (speaking truth always)
  5. To refrain from intoxicants which lead to loss of mindfulness (specifically, drugs and alcohol)

The precepts are not formulated as imperatives, but as training rules that laypeople undertake voluntarily to facilitate practice.[87] In Buddhist thought, the cultivation of dana and ethical conduct will themselves refine consciousness to such a level that rebirth in one of the lower heavens is likely, even if there is no further Buddhist practice. There is nothing improper or un-Buddhist about limiting one's aims to this level of attainment.[88]

In the eight precepts, the third precept on sexual misconduct is made more strict, and becomes a precept of celibacy. The three additional precepts are:

6. To refrain from eating at the wrong time (only eat from sunrise to noon)
7. To refrain from dancing and playing music, wearing jewelry and cosmetics, attending shows and other performances
8. To refrain from using high or luxurious seats and bedding

The complete list of ten precepts may be observed by laypeople for short periods. For the complete list, the seventh precept is partitioned into two, and a tenth added:

6. To refrain from taking food at an unseasonable time, that is after the mid-day meal
7. To refrain from dancing, music, singing and unseemly shows
8. To refrain from the use of garlands, perfumes, ointments, and from things that tend to beautify and adorn (the person)
9. To refrain from (using) high and luxurious seats (and beds)
10. To refrain from accepting gold and silver

Within the Zen tradition there are generally sixteen precepts-

(Three Treasures)

  1. Taking refuge in the Buddha
  2. Taking refuge in the Dharma
  3. Taking refuge in the Sangha

(Three Pure Precepts)

  1. Not Creating Evil
  2. Practicing Good
  3. Actualizing Good For Others

An ars*ho**, probably of Paki ancestry insults the Pope

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 07:41 AM PDT

Anjoum Noorani, 31, was the leader of the Papal Visit Team which drew up a document suggesting the Pope should launch his own range of "Benedict" condoms, open an abortion clinic and stay in a council flat in Bradford. This is the "Dick", whose ancestors masacred Hindu Indians sounds so very Paki! Whose identity has until now remained secret, was moved to "other duties" after he gave authorisation for the memo to be sent to Downing Street and three Whitehall departments. Look at the Dick's name, sounds like the intolerant kind, has a smirk on his face. The memo, which was leaked to The Sunday Telegraph, threatens to overshadow the Pope's entire four-day visit in September after it prompted fury in the Vatican and among Catholics in Britain.

Senior members of the church have described Mr Noorani and his team as having "not the slightest understanding of Catholicism". None of the four-strong group is thought to be a practising Catholic. The memo, which also called for the Pope to bless a homosexual marriage, was emailed around Whitehall by Steven Mulvain, a 23-year-old Oxford graduate who describes his sexual orientation on a social networking website as "gay". Mr Mulvain has not been disciplined for his role in the fiasco.

Look at their tolerance in a Christian country. They could be some of his relatives.

Mr Noorani, who, like Mr Mulvain, is a graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, chaired the "brainstorm" session which led to the "Ideal Visit" memo, which also proposed that the Pope should sing a duet with the Queen and sponsor a network of Aids clinics. He worked as press secretary at the British Embassy in Russia between 2002 and 2007, where he dealt with all Russian media inquiries about Britain's response to the murder of the former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko. He was unavailable for comment last night and his mother, who lives in Windsor, said she "can't say anything".

Although the Vatican is now trying to draw a line under the memo fiasco, Papal aides believe the Government's choice of non-Catholic staff typifies the "lack of respect" being shown towards the first ever state visit by a Pontiff. One source said: "The most striking thing about the Foreign Office team has been how ineffectual they are. They have been disengaged and, frankly, clueless. "I have never had the impression that any members of the team were informed or even sensitive to the Catholic Church or Catholicism generally."

One senior source at the Catholic Church in England and Wales said: "This does beg the question of how seriously this visit is being taken by the Government. "All of our dealings with this Foreign Office team have suggested they don't have any understanding of Catholicism and that's how this issue seems to have come about. "Why did they even have this brainstorming session in the first place? The Pope's itinerary was decided a long time ago, so it's not as if there was much room for extra events to be laid on."

William Hague, the shadow foreign secretary, said: "This whole episode was utterly unacceptable. "A Conservative-run Foreign and Commonwealth Office would put a stop to such pointless time-wasting and insulting activities. Visits by international leaders should be handled with the respect they deserve and that we would expect to be extended to us."The Foreign Office declined to comment on the religious beliefs of the members of the Papal Visit Team. Siapa Yang Sebenarnya Berketuk Sebelum Bertelur?

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 05:09 AM PDT

Stephen Tong's Evangelistic Rally In Sibu (唐崇荣萬人佈道会)- Part 13

Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong came to Sibu in 1983 at the invitation of Sarawak Chinese Annual Conference, Methodist Church to be the theme speaker at the First Youth Mission Camp The mission camp was organised by MYF of SCAC and I was involved in this ministry. Praise Lord for the wonderful camp!

Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong put himself to a tight schedule during the working stay in Sibu. In the daytime, he gave theme talk at the mission camp. At night, he preached in the evangelistic rally at Padang Sukan Tuanku Haji Bujang. Deep in my memory was on the first night when we had to stand in the torrential rain and got drenched to the skin to partake of the rally. Rev. Dr. Stephen Tong called on us to keep it as a living memory.

Render unto Caesar…from Wikipedia

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 03:49 AM PDT

Render unto Caesar… From Wikipedia

"Render unto Caesar…" is the beginning of a phrase attributed to Jesus in the synoptic gospels, which reads in full, "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's"  (Matthew 22:21).

This phrase has become a widely quoted summary of the relationship between Christianity and secular authority. The original message, coming in response to a question of whether it was lawful for Jews to pay taxes to Caesar, gives rise to multiple possible interpretations about whether it is desirable for the Christian to submit to earthly authority.

Interpretations include the belief that it is good and appropriate to submit to the state when asked; that spiritual demands supersede earthly demands, but do not abolish them; that the demands of the state are non-negotiable; or that spiritual authority should maintain its independence from temporal authority, which rules by force rather than moral law.

The Bible states that hostile questioners tried to trap Jesus into taking an explicit and dangerous stand on whether Jews should or should not pay taxes to the Roman occupation. They anticipated that Jesus would oppose the tax, for Luke's Gospels explains their purpose was "to hand him over to the power and authority of the governor."[3] The governor was Pilate, and he was the man responsible for the collecting of Rome's taxes in Judea. At first the questioners flattered Jesus by praising his integrity, impartiality and devotion to truth.

Then they asked him whether or not it is right for Jews to pay the taxes demanded by Caesar. In the gospel of Mark, the additional, truly provocative question is asked, "Should we pay or shouldn't we?" [4] Jesus first called them hypocrites, and then asked one of them to produce a Roman coin that would be suitable for paying Caesar's tax. One of them showed him a Roman coin, and he asked them whose name and inscription were on it. They answered, "Caesar's," and he responded "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and give to God what is God's." His interrogators were flummoxed by this authoritative (though ambiguous) answer and left disappointed.

For example, one Mennonite explained why he was not a war tax resister this way:

We are against war and do not wish to aid the war effort by conscription or by paying war taxes to the government. Doing so only helps to strengthen and perpetuate the war machine. Matthew 22:21 Jesus said "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." Romans 13:1 "Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those which exist are established by God." If the law of the land is that everyone must pay war taxes then that is what we must do. It is the law! We should however, work and pray extremely hard to change the law. The ideal situation would be to have the law abolished. The alternative would be to have a choice of designating our portion of the war tax towards efforts of peacemaking. This route would be a more lawful, constructive and positive effort.

Malaysian Insider : Islamic backlash aimed at moderate Muslims

Part of Islamic backlash aimed at moderates by Zeffri Yusof

APRIL 28 — This past week has seen the spotlight turned on Islam on the world stage again.

In the United States, a "South Park" episode featuring a parody of the Prophet Muhammad saw death threats to the show's co-creators courtesy of the site

However, unlike the Jyllands-Posten cartoon episode of 2007, the general public's reaction has been one of support for the show's brand of equal opportunity comedy.

Seattle satirical cartoonist Molly Norris has even proposed May 20th as "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" and that initiative appears to be gaining ground with even schools set to join in.

In France and Belgium, laws were passed to ban the burqa in public, including for tourists. Earlier this month, a woman driver wearing hijab was for the first time fined by French police for driving while "not having a clear field of vision."

In England in late March, Muslim leaders were publicly criticised by Oxford University academic Nick Chatrath who claims that in the face of growing radicalisation in Britain, "Muslim leaders are ignoring extremists' points of view and glossing over some of the more unsavoury parts of Islam's texts."

Look a bit further back to November, you'll find Switzerland lawmakers banning the construction of new mosque minarets. At around the same time, more than 100 Western-based organisations signed a petition against the Organisation of the Islamic Conferences' (OIC) proposed United Nations resolution on blasphemy or "defamation of religions" — the clearest mass opposition to a non-conflict related UN proposal in recent memory.

Observers say these developments hint at a larger shift in the West's general attitude towards Islam and Islamic culture — one that was previously characterised by cultural relativism and tolerance, but now progressively less so.

The target of some of these retaliations have also shifted — directed less and less at the perceived radical fringe elements of Islam but more towards its mainstream, which is increasingly being accused of not doing enough to curb its more extreme co-religionists.

In Western European societies, this eroding tolerance of multiculturalism is also pushing back against what is perceived as the developing "Arabification" and Islamisation of Europe — most notably due to the superior birth rates (ratios as high as 8:1) of naturalised citizens that migrated in droves from North Africa and the Middle East in the past 30 to 40 years.

With increasing population comes increasing demands for the preservation of a traditional way of life — ones that are typically in direct contrast to modern European values.

It is beyond the scope of this article to detail the complicated sentiments that have developed over decades of open-door migration policies and an earlier lax attitude towards cultural assimilation among the Western European nations.

My own insights have been assisted by reading the late Orianna Falacci's diatribe against the Islamisation of Europe — her fist, the fiery The Rage and The Pride followed the more measured The Force of Reason. Other popular ones include Bat Ye'Or's Eurabia, Mark Steyn's America Alone and Walter Laquer's The Last Days of Europe.

As a matter of comparison these are not dissimilar to the righteous anger-tinged literature of colonised peoples who rile against what they view as the parasitic behaviour of their cultural imperialists.

Some would say it's karma and nothing short of a comeuppance for the West given its hundreds of years of transgressions on the rest of the world.

Nevertheless, these episodes collectively paint the picture of a more mainstream and public face of retaliation against Islam and its symbols in Europe and in the US.

To a great extent, they are aimed at testing both Islam and Islamic culture's insistence on exemption from criticism; something that has never gone down well with societies steeped in Freedom of Speech.

The difference is that this time more of their people's representatives are being vocal, backed by a growing majority of the public, almost as if a sieve has been breached.

About month or so, I have been receiving comments aimed at discrediting me for my writings, which hitherto has not been too obvious. Personally, I do not mind their criticism of me, as I am a strong adherent and advocate of the freedom of speech and expression. I too do not take offence of anything they say against me, because I strongly believe that being human, each and everyone is born different; hence I don't expect others to have the same patience that Allah swt has bestowed upon me.

I will be acting foolish, if I were to retaliate with anger in responding to the comments made by those who are adverse to my writings. Anger is one that I do not possess, and it is quite difficult for anyone to make me angry, and those who have served me knows this too well. If there is the slightest anger, I will just turn around and walk out, rather than to be confrontational and make a fool of myself. This is exactly what my late father had taught me.

Actually, I am what I am, because I hate to lose friends…the good ones I mean. And I can assure every one of my readers that all the friends that I have are good.

With regards to the sudden surge in some 'nasty' comments from some readers, I know this will happen about a month ago. I was informed about it by someone who cares for what I do, and shares a similar desire as mine i.e. to rid the Armed Forces of corrupt officers, regardless of the rank and stature. In fact, I have a slight indication as to who these person(s) are, and I also know that they have done it not on their own accord.

To those who persist that they should go on discrediting me, my only answer to them is to please go on doing what they are suppose to do. Honestly, I am neither hurt nor offended, and I will continue to pray to Allah to give me guidance, and if I do wrong, I seek forgiveness from them and from Allah, but if they are wrong, please seek forgiveness from Allah.

Update #1 On The Pandan Perdana Pavement Upgrade

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 12:22 AM PDT

Early this morning, I received a call from Encik Zahari from the Jabatan Kejuruteraan of Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ). I had sent an email to the MPAJ on Monday to protest the lack of kerb ramps in the stretch of pavement currently being upgraded. A bus stop is located on the pavement. It is important that this particular stretch is made accessible to ensure that wheelchair users are able to get to the bus stop and catch a bus when RapidKL deploy their non-step buses to this route.

Encik Zahari gave the assurance that ramps will be built on both ends of the pavements that are being upgraded. The kerbs that have been put in place will be removed to accomodate the ramps. There would not have been a need to remove the kerbs had it been done correctly in the first place. I told him that the gradients of the ramps should have a ratio of 1:15 or less. They should gentle enough for wheelchair users to traverse up independently. I have seen bad ramps all over Kuala Lumpur, especially those done by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). These ramps are too steep and are not seamless from road to pavement. There is usually a small step from the road to the ramp. That may cause a wheelchair going up to tip backwards.

From this episode, it is apparent that the authorities have not taken the issues of access for disabled people into account. There should not even be a need for me to remind the parties concerned that public facilities should be inclusive, more so when new infrastructure is being built or when the existing ones are being upgraded. Accessible facilities should have been the norm. In Malaysia's march to becoming a developed nation, we cannot, should not, ignore the fact that disabled people still have to struggle with third world infrastructure. The "developing nation" status has no meaning when a segment of the population are still marginalised in so many ways.

Shakira heads to Arizona to back immigrant rights

CONGRATUATION SHAKIRA for your kindheart.

LOS ANGELES, April 28 — Colombian-born pop star Shakira (pic) will meet with the mayor of Phoenix this week

  • to help campaign against a new Arizona law
  • cracking down on illegal immigration, a member of the mayor's staff said yesterday.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will speak with Mayor Phil Gordon, a strong critic of the new law, and other city officials tomorrow afternoon, a spokesman for the mayor said.

Shakira, best known for her hit singles "Hips Don't Lie" and "Whenever, Wherever", was also expected to meet with families who could be affected by the Arizona law.

Representatives for the singer declined to comment on her visit to Arizona.

SPRM Dibidas Tutup Kes Rasuah RM10 juta Tee Kiat

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 12:53 AM PDT

-TVS

— Bernama

Zaid Fail Petisyen, Saman Utusan Dan SPR

Posted: 27 Apr 2010 11:13 PM PDT

-FMT

A Cool Calm Kuantan ( Updated sikit )

Posted: 28 Apr 2010 06:12 AM PDT

The weather? Cooling..not blazing hot as before..tak pakai sun block pun tak terbakar kulit!

Two groups have spread out their attacks..nothing and no powerful choking sprays can stop their numbers.

The row of shops near the Alliance Bank Berserah are being bombarded by armies of mosquitoes.
According to witnesses, they are indifferent towards Shieldtox or whatever mosquito aerosols, mosquito coils or any plugged-in mosquito repellant.
Jess my prepaid lady shopowner complained that they just zoom in and poke you straight soft approach or tunggu2 anymore!

Hopefully, the MPK can come and do some fogging..up to now, they're having a Brazilian carramba dance out there..and a feast too..I had to drink my fruit juice standing, otherwise..they were already feeding on my swollen ankles!

Yesterday, I brought my daughter to the Chan Dental Clinic in town. I love Doc Chan. He makes me want to go the dentist everyday..the only hurdle is that my budget is limited.
If you go and see him for any dental problems, you'll never be afraid to see the dentist ever again.

While waiting for Hannan, I first went to a nearby Malay coffee-shop.
MPK must check food premises in town more regularly..
The teh tarik was really not was not only barely hot, there was something not right with the drink. I'm sure I'm not that fussy.

I left immediately after a few sips and tried another shop at the other end..a mamak restaurant.
My goodness...there were flies all over all the tables..landing and taking off like the 2nd World War airplanes..Roger, over and out!!

I believe its the season where the mosquitoes and the flies are in session..they've probably divided their territories.." engkorang serang sana, kitaorang bomb sini!"..
So MPK..hurry!
We do not want the dengue fever to increase in Kuantan nor any significant health problems caused by the lalat geng!

I love Kuantan!
So slow paced and take your life one day at a time..

p.s. Wanted to blog about my brother Nain's birthday today..I had send him my birthday wishes via sms after Era alerted me..
Fortunately Nain corrected me and replied he not chet come out..tomorrow at 4am only..hehehe
