Away to PLKN (Day 37): Pre-Birthday Karaoke for Alvin’s 18th Birthday

This happened on the today of two months ago, 3 March 2010. =D Since I am NS right now, I have plenty of time to post it up, sorry for all the outdated post. Hopefully after NS, everything will get back on track.

So on this day, of two months ago, it's Alvin Yang's birthday eve, we went to Red Box for karaoke. He's my buddy that I've known him for like 5 years in high school already.

Early morning, I went out for breakfast with the usual breakfast people, Arron, Chien Chern, Yiphing and Chaiwei.

Chai Wei.

It's Old Town Kopitiam at Penang Times Square. No idea why choose there, but then Old Town is not my favourite place already. I don't really go there so often as before, eventually it's always not in my eating list. I feel sad for Penang Times Square because there's so many coffee house and restaurant, but still very quiet? I was there too early?

Charles and Amanda, lovely couple.

Then in the afternoon, we went to Red Box karaoke, my favourite hang out place. ^^ At first, there's me, Arron, Chien Chern, Yiphing, Zez Chien, Tee Jin and Chen Yuen. Alvin came in an hour late because he had class. Then Charles, Amanda, Joanne and Sher Reen came in to sit for a while only and take photos.

Actually it's not really what big birthday celebration, because there's no birthday cake. We treated Alvin the Red Box and wishes "happy birthday", he didn't sing much though, but me as usual, always sing a lot. Haha.

Alvin, Arron and Tee Jin, all siao kia.

Happy so-belated birthday. Shit, I am not in the photo. >.<

Rasuah PRK Hulu Selangor: Najib Boleh Dihukum Penjara 2 Tahun Dan Denda RM5,000

Posted: 02 May 2010 08:41 AM PDT

Apa lagi bukti SPR mahu sebelum bertindak?

POLIS SURE HEBAT: Almost 20 shots but only one hit Aminulrasyid Amzah

Exclusive report Trail of bullets

2010/05/02
By Lee Shi-Ian and Noor Hazwan HarizMohd
news@nst.com.my
KUALA LUMPUR: Police were believed to have fired almost 20 shots but only one hit Aminulrasyid Amzah.

Aminulrasyid crashed the Proton Iswara he was driving into a retaining wall at a house in Section 11, Shah Alam, last Monday.

A source familiar with the case said most of the shots hit the bottom part of the car. It was reported that police had fired shots at the car tyres to immobilise the vehicle.

"Forensic personnel are believed to have recovered more than 10 bullet casings from various locations during the 6km chase from Section 7 to Section 11 in Shah
Alam," the source said. It is also learnt that the Iswara was not involved or related to any criminal case.

"There was one corporal and one auxiliary police constable in each of the two mobile patrol vehicles that pursued Aminulrasyid in the chase."

Witnesses claimed that the tyres were already flat during the chase and there were sparks from the left rim.

Following the incident, it was revealed that the four policemen had been reassigned to desk duties until further notice. On Friday, police were
directed to carry out further investigations into the case.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail studied the investigation papers submitted by police and issued additional instructions to the police on several points.

It is understood that an official forensic report will be released tomorrow although senior police officers remained tight-lipped when contacted. In the early morning incident, Aminulrasyid and his friend were pursued by patrol cars across Shah Alam after they refused to stop their vehicle.

It was reported that Aminulrasyid's friend, a schoolmate, escaped on foot and lodged a police report. He was later interviewed by police for about three hours in connection with the case.

Pas' Shah Alam member of parliament Khalid Samad called on police to stop the drama. He raised several points, including why police have failed to clear Aminulrasyid's reputation until now.

He also cited a report lodged by Aminulrasyid's neighbour, Zafrullah Ahmad Zainal Abidin, 27, who claimed that the Iswara had gone into a ditch and was therefore unable to reverse. It had been reported that police had opened fire in selfdefence when Aminulrasyid attempted to reverse his vehicle.

Khalid said: "I am puzzled how police have completed their investigations even though there are still a lot of witnesses who have yet to come forward."

Oldest form of worship: Sacrifice. Abraham sacrificed Isaac, well almost! 8)

Genesis 22:1-24 (New International Version - UK)

Genesis 22

Abraham Tested
1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, Abraham! Here I am, he replied.
2 Then God said, Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.
3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.
4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
5 He said to his servants, Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,
7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, Father? Yes, my son? Abraham replied. The fire and wood are here, Isaac said, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?
8 Abraham answered, God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son. And the two of them went on together.
9 When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
10 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
11 But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, Abraham! Abraham! Here I am, he replied.
12 Do not lay a hand on the boy, he said. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.
13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.
15 The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time
16 and said, I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,
18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.
19 Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
Nahor's Sons
20 Some time later Abraham was told, Milcah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor:
21 Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram),
22 Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel.
23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight sons to Abraham's brother Nahor.
24 His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also had sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maacah.

Stephen Tong's Evangelistic Rally In Sibu (唐崇栄萬人佈道會) - Part 15

Posted: 02 May 2010 06:45 AM PDT

The evangelistic rally is just eight more days away! In view of a few events running concurrently with the rally, it is now getting increasingly urgent for all Christians in Sibu to humble ourselves before God and offer prayers for this great ministry.
Let's pray for the Christians in Sibu, that they continue to be thirsty for Word of God, and that Holy Spirit works to press them to feel compassionate towards the lost souls.
Pray that Sibu Christians have a sense of urgency to make good efforts to invite at least one non-believer to the evangelistic rally.
The evangelistic rally T-shirts are out for sale now. Buy one and put it on in support of the rally.

Sibu buy-election: Universiti Kolej Laila Taib by 2012 in exchange for votes

Posted: 02 May 2010 06:38 AM PDT

SIBU, May 2 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Sunday formally announced the elevation of Kolej Laila Taib (KLT) here to a university college by 2012.

He made the announcement after visiting the college which was set up in 1997 and known then as United College Sarawak (UCS) at the Old Airport Road here.

Early this year, the Sarawak Foundation took over its running at the invitation of its board of management.

It was renamed Kolej Laila Taib in memory of the late Datuk Amar Laila Taib, wife of Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, for her contribution to the development of education in the state.

Najib said he had very long been a strong supporter of the state.

"When I was Education Minister, I gave the licence to set up the Curtin University branch campus in Miri. Then, I was persuaded to give a licence for the Swinburne University branch campus in Kuching.

"Today, I am presented with another request, that is to elevate KLT to university college in 2012.

"On behalf of the federal government, I have agreed to this on the basis of merit," he said.

Najib said now that the government had fulfilled the request from the people of Sibu, it was for them to then fulfil his request, referring to the coming Sibu by-election.

Meanwhile, he said it was vital to provide quality education to the young so that they could assist in the nation-building process and in its transformation programme.

He said there was one aspect of his 1Malaysia initiative which had not been talked about often but was equally important.

"This is to build Malaysia into a 21st Century Nation with global competitiveness.

"We need to provide for, nurture and retain all talents we can develop in the country to allow us to do this," he said.

Later when visiting the re-building project of the SRK St Mary here, Najib announced a government grant of RM1 million for its construction fund.

The state government had earlier given a grant of RM600,000.

The school, built in 1954, is one of the oldest wooden mission primary schools in the state.

Its rebuilding project was initiated by the late Sibu member of parliament and Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Robert Lau Hoi Chew who died on April 9 in Kuala Lumpur.

Taib in his speech said KLT would focus on training more technical and management manpower needed for the successful implementation of the state's regional development corridor or SCORE (Sarawak Corridor of Renewal Energy).

Ugutan Bunuh: TGNA Tak Layan

Semakin hebat pula bantuan Allah kepadanya.

MAINSTREAM MEDIA MUCH BETTER IN REPORTING DISTORTED TRUTH!

About 30 people held a brief protest gathering -- this afternoon at the Kuala Lumpur City Centre to commemorate World Press Freedom Day, which falls tomorrow.

flash mob read newspaper upside down 020510 08The brief protest gathering was
organised by the Writers' Alliance for Media Independence (WAMI), among others, to protest political interference in the media and to call for press freedom.
The protest event at the fountain area of KLCC Park also saw the presence of about 20 Umno Youth members, led by one 'Hishamuddin Yahya', who came with copies of...
No prize for guessing right. Yes, thesse Umno fellows came with copies of PAS mouthpiece Harakah and PKR's Suara Keadilan. This Hishamuddin Yahya said the opposition was not fair to the mainstream media with the former also distorting the truth while the the latter did much better reporting!

HAHA! Indeed, the mainstream media distorts the truth and does much better reporting - in short, much better in reporting distorted truth!

In the first place, Harakah and Suara Keadilan are party organs. They're not even mainstream media that the public can access easily unless one has Internet access and reach the online version. I, for one, have never touched a hard copy of Harakah or Suara Keadilan and seldom read it online.

Malaysian Insider : Cuba’s underground rappers test free speech

Cuba's underground rappers test free speech

HAVANA, May 2 — Cuba's underground hip hop duo "Los Aldeanos" (picture) are boldly grooving where no Cuban has gone in five decades: criticizing the communist government loud and proud for the first time to a sell-out crowd.

"They tell the truth, say the things we feel, the things that a lot of Cubans cannot say. The freedom that we do not have," explained Yoelvis Fonseca, a 27-year-old construction worker, as he sweated and swayed to the beat of the rhyming twosome that recently packed the Acapulco movie theatre with more than 2,000 rabid fans.

True, this event was not advertised in state-controlled media.

And even the sign in lights outside the Acapulco disjointedly read "Today, Sherlock Holmes."

But the word was on the street, and the under-30s were in the house for the first major show by the dissident duo who have been around — stealthy and not wealthy — for seven years.

They called the show "Seven years with the village," and maybe because the venue was huge, they held off singing their underground hits most critical of life in Cuba.

Los Aldeanos — which means villagers, but is a riff on one member's name — have come a long way, baby.

In the only communist country in the Americas, where confronting the government can be a ticket to prison, they have hit it big taking on the government, corruption and giving voice to Cubans' everyday frustrations.

Their rhymes — they sing in Spanish — are direct and pull no punches, with lines like: "I can't stand one more lie," and "All of this/one day will change/for the good of the people."

And it gets hotter in this country with a one-party regime and a leadership dominated by officials well over 70: "I'm from a chilling society/that listens with piety/to the same people who have gagged it/with a bag of fake freedom," one Los Aldeanos line goes.

Another classic for fans: "So many are dead/or in jail/people would rather die for the American dream/than live through this Cuban nightmare."

Tattooed friends Bian Rodriguez (El B) and Aldo Rodriguez (El Aldeano) first got their act together back in 2003, playing mainly in Havana's dingy underground rap halls as well as parks and the odd cultural event.

But the Acapulco theatre gig was a landmark, as the group and its fans pushed the envelope. For now, the government did not push back.

"This concert is breaking the silence," the duo's representative Melisa Riviere told AFP.

For the Aldeanos, however, the crux of the group's political viewpoint is that they need to speak out, to say something, but they are not interested in leaving Cuba.

"Talking about what is happening here is the way that we take part in the Revolution," El B says. "Criticizing in Miami makes no sense; this is where the (expletive) is hitting the fan."

Riviere went out on a limb insisting that "Miami and Washington have tried to manipulate what Los Aldeanos are. We have spent a long time explaining that they are not counter-revolutionaries."

Aldo himself insists in one line, "I am not a communist; nor am I a socialist; nor am I a Leninist; I am a Revolutionary." It is a masterful spin on the everyday wordplay of the government which constantly implores everyone to be just that — "revolutionary".

The duo are rhyming as if to see if there is any reaction to their not being communists, as long as they are with the Revolution — the regime that has been in place since 1959 and was led by Fidel Castro for more than 40 years.

And their 18 CDs — such as "Censored" and "Viva Cuba Libre" — are sold widely on the black market in Cuba.

Though some clubs refused to let them play, Los Aldeanos also have played with the likes of mainstream artist Pablo Milanes, and won some national prizes.

Occasionally a radio station will play one of their less critical numbers.

"I am a fan because they sing about what the people are going through," said Yamel Gonzalez, who at 26 is getting ready to start at university. "People's words cannot be a crime."

Among the 200 people unable to get into the concert was a young man in a black T-shirt, jeans and earrings who asked not to be named.

"They are really ballsy," he said, referring to the rappers, "because they talk about the way things really are: that there is a dictatorship." — AFP-Relaxnews

World Press Freedom Day 2010

World Press Freedom Day 2010

Freedom of Information: the Right to Know

Recalling Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights , which states that the fundamental right of freedom of expression encompasses the freedom to "to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers," UNESCO's celebration of World Press Freedom Day 2010 will highlight the importance of freedom of information as an integral part of freedom of expression and its contribution to democratic governance.

It will foster reflection and exchange of ideas on freedom of information to advance empowerment, transparency, accountability and the fight against corruption, as well as on the key obstacles that the effective exercise of the right to know faces in today's digitalized world. The occasion will also serve to call on member states to reaffirm and implement their international commitments to guarantee and promote freedom of information and to remind civil society organizations, other relevant stakeholders, and the news media in particular, of their central part in furthering it.UNESCO is the only UN agency with the mandate to promote freedom of expression and its corollary, freedom of the press. The UNESCO Constitution calls on the organization to foster the "free exchange of ideas and knowledge" and the "free flow of ideas by word and image." Freedom of expression and freedom of the press are thus among the guiding principles of UNESCO, and freedom of information may be deemed to be part and parcel of the Organization's core mandate to support them.

Democratic participation depends on people who are well-informed, this being a pre-condition for their effective monitoring and assessment of their leaders' performance, as well as for their meaningful engagement in public debate and decision-making processes that impact their lives. Freedom of information therefore represents an important instrument for the public to hold government and other actors accountable, and contributes to deter secretiveness, corrupt practices and wrong doing. Better information flows can also enhance government efficiency and responsiveness, while strengthening citizens' trust in those who govern them. Freedom of information is often associated with well-functioning markets and improvements in investment climates. For all the above reasons, it has been increasingly acknowledged as a key to democracy and socio-economic development.

Freedom of information may be interpreted narrowly as the right to access information held by public bodies or, more broadly, as including access to and circulation of information held by other actors. It is intrinsically linked to the basic human right of freedom of expression. Freedom of information is therefore also fundamentally connected to press freedom, representing a crucial element to enable media to strengthen democratization, good governance and human development through its roles as a "watch-dog over the abuse of power (promoting accountability and transparency), as a civic forum for political debate (facilitating informed electoral choices), and as an agenda-setter for policymakers (strengthening government responsiveness to social problems)". In turn, complete realization of the right to know cannot take place without a free, independent, plural, ethical and professional press.

The notion of freedom of information was recognized by the United Nations as early as in 1946, and has long been enshrined as part of the basic human right of freedom of expression in major international instruments like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the American Convention on Human Rights. More than two centuries have passed since adoption of the first freedom of information (FOI) law. There has much more recently been an unparalleled increase in the international recognition of freedom of information as a right included under freedom of expression, thoroughly addressed in the revised edition of Toby Mendel's book Freedom of Information: A Comparative Legal Survey and in his regionally focused contribution, The right to information in Latin America: A comparative legal survey. While in 1990 there were 13 countries with national FOI laws, currently this legislation exists in more than 80, with another 20 to 30 countries actively considering its introduction. The number of national constitutions and High Court rulings guaranteeing freedom of information has also grown. At the global and regional levels, an increasing body of declarations, treaties and jurisprudence has specifically alluded to freedom of information as a fundamental corollary of freedom of expression.

Despite significant progress and emergence of a world community of advocates for freedom of information, there are still many factors constraining advance toward fully achieving its promise to empower individuals and further accountability, transparency and the fight against corruption. This paper reviews some of the main issues and challenges, stressing the contribution of traditional news media and information and communication technologies (ICTs) in facing them.

Message from Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day (3 May 2010)

This World Press Freedom Day, whose theme is Freedom of Information, offers us an occasion to remember the importance of our right to know.

Freedom of Information is the principle that organisations and governments have a duty to share or provide ready access to information they hold, to anyone who wants it, based on the public's right to be informed.

The right to know is central for upholding other basic rights, for furthering transparency, justice and development. Hand-in-hand with the complementary notion of freedom of expression, it underpins democracy.

We may not consciously exercise our right to know. But each time we pick up a newspaper, turn on the TV or radio news, or go on the Internet, the quality of what we see or hear depends on these media having access to accurate and up to date information.

Obstacles in the way of our right to know take many forms, from a lack of resources and inadequate infrastructure to deliberate obstruction.

Far too many journalists exercise their profession in an environment where restrictions on information are the norm, where dealing with pressure, harassment intimidation or even physical assault are all in a day's work.

Last year UNESCO condemned the killing of 77 journalists. For the most part these were not war casualties but local reporters covering local stories.

I invite all those commemorating World Press Freedom Day around the globe to observe a minute of silence: to remember those whom it is too late to help; to honour the journalists who paid with their lives for our right to know.

But today let us also acknowledge the significant advances that have been made.

More and more countries around the world are adopting freedom of information legislation. This makes it easier to scrutinize government actions, and it reinforces public accountability.

Meanwhile faster and cheaper technology means that more people in the world have ready access to information from outside their immediate environment than ever before.
Now is the time for us to capitalise on these advances, by strengthening institutions, by providing the necessary training for information professionals, by fostering greater open-ness within our public sectors and greater awareness among the public.

I call on governments, civil society, the news media and individuals everywhere to join forces with UNESCO in promoting Freedom of Information all over the world.

Irina Bokova

Nizar: Racist BN calling me seditious?

Posted: 02 May 2010 03:51 AM PDT

Control and manipulation of mainstream media the mainstay of the BN's successful half-century run of keeping the people in the dark.

The former Perak menteri besar said BN used public funds in the form of election handouts at every by-election and state election in the country and they were racists when dealing with voters and yet they label his political speeches in Hulu Selangor as seditious.

Haiyo...old story lah...BN has been racist since the first day it was formed.

PERUTUSAN KHAS 07 MAC 2010

Nurul Izzah Anwar, Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai

Sempena Hari Wanita Sedunia

Salam Hari Wanita!

Greentech or Envirotech or Cleantech from Wikipedia

Green technology (greentech) or Environmental technology from Wikipedia

Environmental technology (abbreviated as envirotech) or green technology (abbreviated as greentech) or clean technology (abbreviated as cleantech) is the application of the environmental science to conserve the natural environment and resources, and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement. Sustainable development is the core of environmental technologies. When applying sustainable development as a solution for environmental issues, the solutions need to be socially equitable, economically viable, and environmentally sound.

Technologies

Sample Technologies
  • Energy Saving Modules
  • Brushless Wound-Rotor Doubly-Fed Electric Machine
  • Composting toilet
  • Bioremediation
  • Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion
  • Solar power
  • Hydrogen fuel cell
  • Desalination Removing salt from ocean water so it's usable as tap water
  • Thermal depolymerization

The technologies include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

Recycling
Is a Worldwide Phenomenon, which is a basic application towards the concept of Green Technology. It shows and encourages people to reuse items that can be reusable. Items like saving Cans of food or drinks, Paper etc have been encouraged by the governing bodies around America and rest of the world, to be recycled so that it can be used in the future for several other purposes. It can thus help protect the environment and cause less waste/pollution.
Water Purification
The whole idea of having dirt/germ/pollution free water flowing throughout the environment. Many other phenomenons' lead from this concept of Purification of water. Water Pollution is the main enemy of this concept, and various campaigns and activists have been organized around the world to help purify Water. Considering the amount of water usage that is under current consumptions, this Concept is of utter Importance.
Air Purification
With IIT, TERI, and learnings from NASA, it was discovered that there are three basic and common green plants, with which we can grow all the fresh air needed indoors to keep us healthy. We've also found that you can reduce the fresh air requirements into the building, while maintaining industry indoor air quality standards.

The three plants are:

Areca palm. Areca palm is a plant which removes CO2 and converts it into oxygen. We need four shoulder-high plants per person, and in terms of plant care, we need to wipe the leaves every day in Delhi, and perhaps once a week in cleaner-air cities. We had to grow them in vermi manure, which is sterile, or hydroponics, and take them outdoors every three to four months.

Mother-in-Law's Tongue. Mother-in-law's Tongue, which is again a common plant, and we call it a bedroom plant, because it converts CO2 into oxygen at night. And we need six to eight waist-high plants per person.

Money Plant. This is again a very common plant; preferably grows in hydroponics. And this particular plant removes formaldehyde and other volatile chemicals.

With these three plants, you can grow all the fresh air you need. In fact, you could be in a bottle with a cap on top, and you would not die at all, and you would not need any fresh air.

Sewage Treatment
Sewage Treatment is a concept that is really close to Water Purification. Sewage Treatments are very important as it purifies water in levels of its pollution. The more the water is polluted, it's not used for anything, the least polluted water is supplied to places where Water is used affluently. It may lead to vaious other concepts of environmental protection, sustainability etc.
Environmental remediation
Environmental remediation is the removal of pollutants or contaminants for the general protection of the environment. This is accomplished by various chemical, biological, and bulk movement methods, in conjunction with environmental monitoring. (encyclopedia of medical concepts)
Solid Waste Management
The purification, Consumption, Reuse, Disposal and Treatment of solid waste that is looked after by the government or the ruling bodies of a city/town and its proper care is basically known as Solid Waste management.
Renewable Energy
Energy that can be replenished easily is the easiest way to explain renewable energy. For years we have been using sources like wood, sun, water etc for means for producing energy. Energy that can be produced by natural objects like wood, sun, wind etc is considered to be renewable. (Nrel)
Egain Forecasting
A method using forecasting technology to predict the future weather's impact on a building. By adjusting the heat based on the weather forecast, the system eliminates redundant use of heat, thus reducing the energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases.

Alternative and clean power

Wikiversity has learning materials about

Appropriate technology Designs
Principles

Scientists continue to search for clean energy alternatives to our current power production methods. Some technologies such as anaerobic digestion produce renewable energy from waste materials. The global reduction of greenhouse gases is dependent on the adoption of energy conservation technologies at industrial level as well as this clean energy generation. That includes using unleaded gasoline, solar energy and alternative fuel vehicles, including plug-in hybrid and hybrid electric vehicles.

Since electric motors consume 60% of all electricity generated, advanced energy efficient electric motor (and electric generator) technology that are cost effective to encourage their application, such as the brushless wound-rotor doubly-fed electric machine and energy saving module, can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) that would otherwise be introduced to the atmosphere, if electricity is generated using fossil fuels. Greasestock is an event held yearly in Yorktown Heights, New York which is one of the largest showcases of environmental technology in the United States.

Criticism

Extreme radical environmentalism, exhibited in publications such as Green Anarchy, criticizes the concept of environmental technology. From this viewpoint, technology is seen as a system rather than a specific physical tool. Technology, accordingly, requires the exploitation of the environment through the creation and extraction of resources, and the exploitation of people through labor, specialization and the division of labor. Thus, no "neutral" form of technology; things are always created in a certain context with certain aims and functions. Green technology is rejected as an attempt to reform this exploitative system, merely changing it on the surface to make it seem environmentally friendly, despite continued unsustainable levels of human and natural exploitation.

UMNO, Perkasa Rasis Dulu Kini Dan Selamanya

Puad: Tak adil label Umno, Perkasa rasis

— Bernama

Ulasan GB

Macamana dinafikan sekalipun perjuangan UMNO dan PERKASA tetap rasis, cauvinis "Melayu", dulu kini dan selamanya.

United Malay Nation Organization - apa ertinya? Ya, Pertubuhan "Kebangsaan Melayu" Bersatu - namanya pun telah menunjukkan UMNO itu rasis, apa tah lagi perjuangannya.

Begitulah PERKASA - Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia! Lihat sahaja selepas pilihanraya Hulu Selangor sehinggakan Presiden Perkasa mahu kerajaan tangguhkan dahulu pembangaunan untuk kaum Cina lantaran pengundi Cin tidak memebrikan sokongan kepada calon BN. Itulah sikap yang menggambarkan rasis sebenar.

Dunia kini sudah berubah. Era globalisasi, parti-parti rasis masing-masing sedang dalam era keruntuhan!

Musa Hassan Anggap PDRM Milik Peribadinya

Posted: 01 May 2010 11:50 PM PDT

- Datuk Halik Zaman

The one that called me Kakak!

Posted: 01 May 2010 11:48 PM PDT

It is amazing how our entire life of years and years can be affected by just two days. Two days in particular when our path crosses with someone special. One might not think that two days of meeting someone can be enough to make a heart feel empty, but that is exactly what I am feeling right now.

Not because two days is insufficient but because two days is all he took to leave permanent footprints in my heart. Especially now that he is gone and forever gone.

During our trip to Terengganu, my husband and wife colleagues; Azam and Fiza brought his younger brothers Fadzly and Izzat or Mel. In the bus they sat next to our seats. Miki adored them both. Once they went to sleep and Miki cried because he had no one to play with.

Mel especially had spent much time in the bus playing with Miki and his toy turtle, taking Miki's pictures with his cellphone.

They both called me Kakak! Mel helped me carry Miki's diaper bag during the boat ride from Pulau Kapas to Marang and I remembered so well his gentleness and I could see how he was a manja youngest son in the family.

I thought him how to swim a little bit. I can hear his voice "Kalau pergi sampai ke tengah pastu tak boleh balik macam mana?" so Fiza and I scolded Azam for leaving him swimming alone for he was a little afraid. And so all of us swam together a distance away from the shore where the coral view was magnificent.

I can hear him calling me "Kakak! kakak!". I remember giving him some tips on his heart burn. Throughout the entire trip, Mel was not feeling well. But he tried his best to be cheerful and be a sport.  I remember offering him keropok lekor and he declined saying if he was well the whole packet that I was eating wouldnt be enough for him.
"Saya sakit kak.." he said. "Kat sini!" as he pointed to his abdomen.

If only I knew that heart burn was fatal. If only I knew….

Mel had left us all to meet his Creator yesterday morning due to stomach ulcer. He was 19.

I still cannot believe it. Two days and almost like a brother to me… I can hear him calling me Kakak! Kakak!!

arwah izzat

I don't know why God has made it such that I have these photos. Anyhow I am thankful to have met with a special person even for just two days. Two days that I shall never forget.

Condolences to Azam and Fiza's family. AlFatihah.
