By-Elections Are Like Christmas…

People spend a lot of time and money preparing for it…

People make wish-lists, promise goodies…

People do hell a lot of decorating…

Fracas happens…not unlike shopping for present and goodies…

If you're naughty, you're not getting any…

And you hear all the sweetness in the air…

But after that ONE day,

Presents unwrapped (or lack thereof) and people do not always get the gifts they wanted…

The decorations – literally and figuratively, remain there or just being chucked away…

Everything's back to normal, it's just an easy-come-easy-go occasion..

Did Mahathir started May 13 riots?

Posted: 14 May 2010 08:52 AM PDT

Day by day, Dr M is revealing more and more of himself and what he did
in the past. We already know he squandered billions of ringgits, how
he betrayed his own nominated successors - anwar, razaleigh and pak
lah. Now he is beginning to show us his true racist self, and very
soon we will know the truth behind the May 13 massacre of Chinese by
the Malays and the police and the armed forces.

Dr M: We must not forget May 13

KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 — Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today defended his decision to participate in a controversial May 13 rally, saying Malaysians must not forget the 1969 race riots so that the country would not allow history to repeat itself.

The country's longest-serving prime minister, who retired in 2003, was planning to attend the rally — themed "Melayu Bangkit (Malays Arise)" — organised by Gerakan Kebangkitan Rakyat (Gertak) and government agency, Terengganu Integrity Institute. It has now been postponed following public outcry.

"I feel that if we forget our history then we will repeat this history. There is a well-known saying that those who forget the lessons of history will be punished by repeating their mistakes over and over again. That is my belief," Dr Mahathir told a press conference at Yayasan Al-Bukhary here.

"I am not going there to stir up feelings between the different races but I am going to remind them that if we do not take care of this problem of race, then we going to repeat our mistakes. If, of course, I go then I will be called a racist," he added.

Political leaders from both Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Nasional (BN) have condemned the rally as racist and divisive in nature.

MCA publicity bureau deputy chairman Loh Seng Kok also criticised Dr Mahathir's involvement, as his participation was tantamount to instigating a racist campaign.

MIC secretary-general S. Murugesan pointed out that if the rally was a historical reminder, it should not only include participants from one community.

The DAP's Lim Kit Siang also said that the entire gathering should have been cancelled instead of just postponed, as it was an "offensive and unacceptable" idea.

Dr Mahathir reiterated that he did not believe that Malaysians should forget May 13.

"I went through this May 13 so I know the thing very deeply. I think I can help to orientate people so they don't act in ways that can precipitate into another May 13.

"But this idea that we should forget May 13 is not a very good idea," he said.

The rally was initially scheduled for yesterday at the Gong Badak indoor stadium and was expected to draw over 10,000 individuals from 45 Malay NGOs.

Gertak chief Razali Idris claimed that the rally was to unite the Malays by reminding them of the May 13 tragedy, and not to stir up racial sentiments.

It was, however, postponed following disapproval by the country's leadership.

Singapore to hang Malaysian Yong Vui Kong

Posted: 14 May 2010 07:04 AM PDT

SINGAPORE : Convicted drug trafficker Yong Vui Kong's appeal against the death penalty was dismissed by the Court of Appeal on Friday.

Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong, Justice Andrew Phang and Justice V K Rajah ruled that Yong's lawyer had failed to prove that the mandatory death penalty for certain drug offences was unconstitutional.

The 21-year-old Malaysian had brought in 47 grammes of heroin in June 2008.

Yong can still appeal to the President for clemency.

Yong was sentenced to death in November and was to be hanged last December.

But days before the sentence was to be carried out, his lawyer successfully sought a stay of execution from the High Court.

Court of Appeal has rejected Yong Vui Kong's appeal against his death sentence. Vui Kong's lawyer, M. Ravi, is applying for time to present a clemency petition. Furthermore, the Court of Appeal has closed off further arguments and the Mandatory Death Penalty will stay.

Executions by hanging are carried out by the State usually at 6am on Fridays. The death sentence could be carried out next Friday, 21st May.

The Court of Appeal reserved its judgement on Mar 15, 2010. It delivered its judgement today at 11am. See here for a timeline of articles/posts/videos on Vui Kong's case. "Berdentum Kepala Saya, Mulut Saya Berdarah"

Posted: 14 May 2010 06:57 AM PDT

-TVS

Just Get Here If You Can...

Posted: 14 May 2010 05:53 AM PDT

You can reach me by railway, you can reach me by trailway
You can reach me on an airplane, you can reach me with your mind
You can reach me by caravan, cross the desert like an Arab man
I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

You can reach me by sailboat, climb a tree and swing rope to rope
Take a sled and slide down slow, into these arms of mine
You can jump on a speedy colt, cross the border in a blaze of hope
I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

There are hills and mountains between us
Always something to get over
If I had my way, then surely you would be closer
I need you closer

(interlude, then repeat bridge)

You can windsurf into my life, take me up on a carpet ride
You can make it in a big balloon, but you better make it soon
You can reach me by caravan, cross the desert like an Arab man
I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

I don't care, I dont care, I need you right here right now

I need you right here, right now, right by my side (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

I don't care how you get here, just- get here if you can

F*** You, YB!

Posted: 14 May 2010 05:54 AM PDT

Sorry. Just felt like swearing today.. and coincidently I found this article written by Hafidz Baharom.

Nowadays, there is no such divide within the nation, should my definition of 1 Malaysia be realised. We're all Malaysians. Some of us, regardless of our many façades of races and religions throughout the generations of staying in this nation, have been here longer than certain Malay Malaysians who preach the 1 Malaysia as defined by our current prime minister and then call our ancestors immigrant prostitutes and slaves.

In fact, it was mentioned that Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar's father, Syed Jaafar Albar, was an immigrant from Indonesia in his adult years. So what right does he have to preach for Malay Malaysians then, in contrast to my co-administrator of a Facebook group, Inbaraj Suppiah, a Malaysian Indian, whose family could be traced back for six generations in Malaysia?

I personally can only consider myself perhaps a third generation Malaysian on my father's side, and perhaps fourth generation Malaysian on my mother's side, which probably makes Inbaraj more Malaysian then I am. So, why am I getting the benefits that he himself is being denied simply due to his race?

As I pointed out before, social evolution makes race and religion irrelevant. This has allowed most of our urban younger generation, who can go out to places like nightclubs or mamaks, eat Chinese or Western without a care for a Halal logo, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes and take drugs out of recreation or addiction and at the same time, still speak and understand the plethora of languages in this wonderful and colourful nation.

It is with this in mind that I believe the whole concept of threatening racial riots among the older generation is nothing more than superstition and sedition, and should be taken up by the younger generation as a threat to the security of our nation's peaceful existence.

Mentioning May 13 and Kampung Medan as threats should be made taboo, and as a member of the young generation, I believe such a threat should be replied with a simple "F*** you, YB".

Malu-lalu Katak, Melompat Juga Akhirnya Wee Choo Keong

Posted: 14 May 2010 05:02 AM PDT

-SK

Wee Cho Keong akhirnya tinggalkan PKR

-mk

Ulasan GB

What? Friday Already?

Where did the week go? I've been so busy with work ever since I came back from my yet to talk about holiday that I do need another holiday just to recuperate! All the pictures I took albeit with my cell phone camera (my darn camera battery wasn't charged properly) hasn't even been downloaded for editing yet.

Work has been hectic with everything having an urgent priority tag attached to it. Come to think of it when has any work not have an urgent priority tag attached to it. Wouldn't it be nice just for once I could have a client come up to me and say,

'Hey, I need this natural acne treatment brochure printed but please take your time, it's not that urgent.'

Now that would really be awesome. But then, even in the movies things like that don't happen. I haven't even really had time to sit and answer all my comments from my two previous posts. I'll get around to it soon over the weekend. Thank you for all your comments. In fact, I just saw my Google reader and it says there's 142 posts from you guys for me to catch up on! I'll get around to that over the weekend too :D

Pebbles is still a little sick and it's all her own fault for not wanting to take her meds. She's been putting up a huge fuss everytime wifey tries to give her her meds. I've tried everything, from hiding the pills in her food like Anny suggested to breaking it down to a powder form and even diluting it in water and syringing it into her mouth but all she does is fight like crazy. For a small dog I'm amazed at her strength.

I drove to the vet again today to ask him if there was some easier way to get her to take her medication and also why the heck didn't they make medication for dogs in some other easier form. Imagine trying to get a child to swallow pills, magnify that by 100 for dogs! She just refuses to take her pills and because of that she's not recovering fast enough.

Wifey and me managed to spike some of her food with the pills today and it was the first time we actually managed to give her a full set of medication. I hope it works for tomorrow cos that dog is pretty smart and knows how to smell her food before consuming it. She hasn't really eaten much and the poor girl has lost some weight.

If she's still stubborn over the weekend with her meds, I'm taking her to the vet and let him feed her the pills ... LOL! He made it sound so darn easy! Happy weekend folks.

hari ni dan semalam...

Posted: 13 May 2010 09:47 PM PDT

sekian.

Another shoddy court case for Anwar Ibrahim........

Posted: 13 May 2010 10:11 PM PDT

Putting an opposition leader on trial inevitably carries a whiff of politics. When that leader is Anwar Ibrahim, and the charge is sodomy, the same accusation used in 1998 to wreck his political career and confine him to jail for six years, the whiff becomes a stink. Mr Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, is playing a familiar role in "Sodomy II", as the newest case is known. He is in the dock again, but in the court of public opinion it is Malaysia's judiciary and its political masters who face the judgment of a sceptical nation.

On May 10th the defence began its cross-examination of a former aide to Mr Anwar, Saiful Bukhari. In February he testified that Mr Anwar sodomised him in a borrowed flat on June 26th 2008. In Malaysia "carnal intercourse against the order of nature" is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, even between consenting adults. A conviction would automatically bar Mr Anwar from politics for five years and send his parliamentary coalition into disarray.

Mr Saiful, now aged 25, is the prosecution's star witness. Karpal Singh, the doughty chief defence lawyer and an opposition MP, began by asking about Mr Saiful's acquaintance with the prime minister, Najib Razak. Mr Anwar's team claims that a political conspiracy has been undertaken to discredit him. The government denies it strenuously. But the circumstances of Mr Saiful's accusation remain murky.

Mr Saiful has told the court that he went to visit Mr Najib, then deputy prime minister, at his house on June 24th 2008—two days before the alleged incident—to talk with him about his own troubles. That an ordinary citizen should have been granted such access has stoked suspicions. On the very same day, Mr Saiful went to see a police officer who played a key role in "Sodomy I". Later, according to Mr Saiful's testimony, he spoke by phone with Malaysia's senior cop. How did he get the number? asked Mr Singh. Overheard it from Mr Najib, came the rather feeble reply.

Other questions touched on the findings of the doctors who examined Mr Saiful. Two days after the alleged molestation, they found no sign of penetration. Another doctor wrote that the witness had inserted a plastic object into his backside. "Nothing wrong with your anus. Why all this fuss?" asked Mr Singh, crossly. Challenged over the medical reports, Mr Saiful protested that he could not see his own anus. The judge concurred.

Malaysians have grown used to such smut in the courtroom. Mr Anwar's first trial featured a crusty mattress that the prosecution said was stained with his semen, proof of sodomy. Mr Anwar was released in 2004 only after it was ruled that testimony against him had been coerced. Four years later, as Mr Anwar prepared to stand for office again, with hopes of toppling a shaky government, Mr Saiful joined his campaign as a volunteer. Whatever the merits of his complaint, it is hard not to suspect a political hand at work. Mr Singh seems determined to reveal whose.

The trial has proved a distraction for Mr Anwar. His party has suffered a string of defections and lost a recent by-election. Another by-election looms in the important state of Sarawak on May 16th. The trial has forced Mr Anwar to cut short his campaigning. He has managed to keep up his foreign jaunts though, staying on the international stage, and chiding Mr Najib's government for having hired an American lobbying firm to raise Malaysia's profile.

In 1998, when Mr Anwar was first taken down, his supporters thronged the streets. Reactions this time have been more muted. Foreign governments took a dim view of Sodomy I; America's vice president at the time, Al Gore, said it "mocked international standards of justice". Twelve years ago Malaysia was teetering on the brink of financial ruin, and nervous foreign investors looked to Mr Anwar as a safer pair of hands. Fearing a power grab, the prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, sacked his uppity deputy and imposed capital controls. This time Malaysia's finances are in fairly good shape and it is the rich world that is fretting over deficits. It may find less to say about Sodomy II.

source:The Economist

Saifool says he wanted evidence so he was prepared to leave his anus unwashed and hold his shit for 2 days. But if he wanted the evidence to nail Anwar why wait 2 days? Does it make sense to you guys?

Lets Vote PR in, kick BN out in next GE. Then start revamp the judiciary by sacking pro-BN judges, sacking AG and his side-kick the IGP. Then reopen the Altantuya murder case and put Najib on the stand and lets see how Bik Mama and her goons feels.....

cheers.

Michelle Yeoh Sahajalah Yang Membaca

Posted: 14 May 2010 01:30 AM PDT

"Contohnya, apabila penggambaran Memoirs of a Geisha, saya banyak membaca mengenai budaya di Jepun dan geisha," katanya.

Hi Martin, Is this Lau a Christian? If he is, I am really ashamed of him. Or maybe as a Christian I forgive him for he knew not what he is doing- maybe blinded by UMNO's ??????
Anyway, whether you are a Christian or not, remember that PAS has proven to be more tolerant than UMNO towards others:
1.Kelantan PAS government allows the largest sleeping Budha to be built.
    2. PAS clearly spelt out that 'ALLAH' can be used by non-English speaking Christians. UMNO opposed like mad.
    3. Lately PAS opposed strongly Malay NGO's May 13 rally in Trengganu. Where is UMNO?
If Lau is sincere in helping the voters there, he SHOULD ASK NAJIB TO DECLARE THAT 'ALLAH' CAN BE USED BY NON-MUSLIMS.
    Over to you LAU.

Wajarkah DUN Kedah dibubarkan

Posted: 13 May 2010 06:17 PM PDT

Manafaatkah Dewan Undangan Negeri Kedah dibubarkan?

PKR pula seperti melukut ditepi gantang.

Gobala Didenda RM3,000. Beranikah BN Hadapi PRK Padang Serai?

Sisters' terror ride in lift

PETALING JAYA: Even the lifts in condominiums secured by guards may not be safe, two sisters have found.
A week ago, the sisters, aged 28 and 35, who had returned home from an outing, were confronted by a lone robber at Ridzuan Condominiums at PJS 10, opposite Sunway Pyramid.
Photographs taken from the condominium's security CCTV, made available to theSun by a member of the public, show the robber loitering in the corridor next to the elevator and following the sisters into a lift.
Moments later, the robber holds a knife to the neck of one of the sisters and demands that she hand over her handbag. The other sister goes to her aid and they put up a struggle with the robber.
The footage also shows the women, who are now down on the floor of the lift, holding on to their belongings as the robber pulls the handbag away violently. When the lift door opens, the robber escapes with the handbag, said to contain valuables and personal items worth more than RM1,000.

According to Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamad, one of the sisters was slashed in her hand but her injury was not serious.
He said police had increased their patrols in the area and are trying to trace the robber from the images obtained from the CCTV recording.
In another unrelated case, which occurred on Monday in PJS 10 near the condominiums, a 24-year-old woman from Puchong who was driving home after visiting friends was waylaid by two men and raped.
The two men had stopped the woman's car, forced her to the back seat, and taken over the wheels.
Arjunaidi said that when the men discovered that the woman did not have enough valuables on her, they drove her to a secluded spot where one of them raped her.
The woman was taken on a terror ride for about two hours before being dropped off at the same spot where she was confronted by her attackers. -- theSun
