… and yet MACC is doing nothing. sure. they dare not or they wouldn't want to. if it is a member of the opposition talking the way the PM did, you can bet your bottom ringgit, MACC would quick as a lightning came down on them.

"let's made a deal. the deal is smple. you help me, i help you."

"if you deliver robert lau on sunday, then on monday i will write a cheque of RM5 million for you."

wasn't that plain obvious bribery? but oh no, like in the hulu selangor by election, he would say it is 'solving problems'.

watch this video and judge for yourself. note also what he said at 4.09 – "i don't have to be here." huh?? sounds like an insult to the people there!!

after watching the video, click on 'read more' to read about karpal singh saying that najib had violated election laws and wanted the EC to take action on him.

'Najib violated election law'

Hazlan Zakaria

May 17, 10

1:03pm

DAP chairperson Karpal Singh has accused Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak of "all too obvious" and "blatant" vote buying during the Sibu by-election which concluded yesterday.

sibu by election karpal singh"One day before polling, the PM went to Sibu, and this is what he said. 'I want to make a deal with you…can we have an understanding or not?'. The understanding was quite simple, I help you, you help me,'" said Karpal.

He was referring to an event where Najib had addressed voters in the DAP stronghold of Rejang Park on the eve of polling day, based on a May 16 report in English-language daily Sunday Eastern Times.

Karpal alleged that Najib had sought to strike a bargain with the mainly Chinese crowd to secure a win for BN candidate Robert Lau, in return for a RM5 million federal government allocation for flood mitigation work in the area.

Calling it a shameful act by the PM, he contended that "this is an offence under Section 10(a) of the Election Offences Act".

The parliamentarian explained in a statement emailed to the media later a person shall be found guilty 'for the offence of bribery if a person offers or promises any money to a voter in order to induce the voter to vote or refrain from voting'.

"I wonder if the PM knows the law. I'd advise him to carefully go thorugh the Election Offences Act. The PM could lend himself in jail. If he's not careful we may have a by-election in Pekan,"

Karpal deadpanned.

He was speaking to reporters in Parliament today, after the first meeting of the rights and privileges committee, which fixed June 8 to hear Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's explanation regarding his Apco-OneIsrael-1Malaysia remarks.

'EC must investigate'

Karpal, the Bukit Gelugor MP, called on the Elections Commission (EC) to have the PM investigated.

>Karpal said Najib's phrase 'Do we have a deal? If Robert Lau wins, we will give you RM5 million' has said it all.

sibu by election 120510 najib at temple possession 1He stressed that, in his opinion, Najib's statement "is not a commitment, it's a clear case of blatant bribery".

"I'd advise the DAP leaders in Sibu to make a police report".

"The MACC must come into it. It's too serious coming from a PM. It can't be accepted. We don't want a precedent like this to be set.

Of course there have been (election promises) like this in the past but this one is too obvious to be ignored. This cannot be dismissed."

The Sibu parliamentary seat by-election win by DAP candidate Wong Ho Leng has showed that in East Malaysia, people's power is mightier than BN's money politics and the power of money politics over the last 53 years has been broken.

DAP national vice chairperson M Kulasegaran said that the political tsunami had finally hit East Malaysia with voters who were now more aware of their basic rights.

Semua Katak Sepatutnya Letak Jawatan Dan Bertanding Semula

Angkatan Muda Keadilan Selangor mendesak Ahli Parlimen Wangsa Maju, Wee Choo Keong dan ahli parlimen yang sebelum ini mengisytihar diri mereka keluar parti meletak jawatan dan bertanding semula atas tiket Bebas. .

AMK Selangor Desak Wee Choo Keong Letak Jawatan Ahli Parlimen Wangsa Maju

2010 Miss USA crowned in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP): A 24-year-old Arab-American beat 50 other women to take the 2010 Miss USA title on Sunday.
Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Michigan, won the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions.
When asked how she felt about winning the crown, she said, "Ask me after I've had a pizza."

Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she made it without a spill and went on to win.
During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should because it's costly.
"I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it's a controlled substance," Fakih said.
Fakih replaces Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton and won a spot representing the United States in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant.
She also gets a one-year lease in a New York apartment with living expenses, an undisclosed salary, and various health, professional and beauty services.

Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was named first runner-up after handling a question about Arizona's strict new immigration law. Woolard said she supports the law, which requires police enforcing another law to verify a person's immigration status if there's "reasonable suspicion" that the person is in the country illegally.
She said she's against illegal immigration but is also against racial profiling.
"I'm a huge believer in states' rights. I think that's what's so wonderful about America. So I think it's perfectly fine for Arizona to create that law."
"The Office" actor Oscar Nunez was booed as he asked the question and asked the audience to wait until he finished the question before they reacted.
Miss Virginia USA Samantha Evelyn Casey was the second runner-up, Miss Colorado USA Jessica Hartman was third runner-up, and Miss Maine USA Katherine Ashley Whittier was the fourth runner-up.
Most of the field of contestants from all 50 states and Washington were eliminated just after the pageant began and the entire group danced onstage to "TiK ToK" by Ke$ha.
A panel of eight judges, including NBA star Carmelo Anthony and Treasure Island casino-hotel owner Phil Ruffin, were judging the women throughout the night.
After 15 contestants strutted in swimsuits, five were eliminated. Another five were eliminated after the evening gown competition.
Miss Nebraska USA Belinda Renee Wright won the Miss Congeniality award, roughly one week after her father was killed in a farm accident. Miss Alabama USA Audrey Moore won Miss Photogenic after an online fan vote.
The pageant aired on NBC. The network owns the pageant in a joint venture with Donald Trump.
The competition, which is not affiliated with the Miss America pageant, was hosted by celebrity chef Curtis Stone and NBC correspondent Natalie Morales.

ANAK TEGUK 'AIR SETAN'
Harian Metro 2010/05/14

Melayu bukannya pandai politik, tapi pak pandir politik. Menang sorak, kampung tergadai.

Nik Aziz: 'Umno, BN beli undi macam beli ayam itik'

RM5mil for BN win: Najib rethinks 'deal'

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said he has yet to decide on a RM5 million allocation for flood mitigation projects in Rejang Park that he had offered Sibu voters Saturday night.

"We will see first, because we have not made any decision on that," Najob told a press conference at the Official Monetary and Finance Institutions Forum today.

On Saturday, Najib, who is also BN chairperson, announced in Sibu's Rajang Park that he would sign a cheque for flood mitigation projects in the area, provided Sibu voters "deliver" him BN candidate Robert Lau in the following day's polling.

"Let's make a deal. If you deliver me Robert Lau Jr on Sunday, I will sign the cheque on Monday," he had said.

BN Lau lost to DAP's Wong Ho Leng with a slim 398 majority.

One thing that is characteristically unique - the Chinese will not sell their souls for money. You can try; but the answer have always being consistent.

You want to use money to buy votes? Go look for the Ibrahim Ali's type of voters!!!

You know what? That guy works hard for the Chinese, helping him to get gambling license, getting paid by being a director within, and trading projects for cash, projects given to bumi sold to unbumi and he shouts ali-baba ... but, for money, he is willing to sell his soul; but, as always, placate himself as the defender of a race and a religion ... however, we never need to worry, for as long as money can and has always ably do ... the soul can be bought ... cheaply!

Kaum Cina Tak Heran Lagi Isu Negara Islam

Posted: 17 May 2010 05:18 AM PDT

Malaysia Timur bukan lagi deposit tetap BN

SUPP mungkin jadi MIC

KARPAL KATA NAJIB MERASUAH SIBU

Posted: 17 May 2010 04:36 AM PDT

Assalamualaikum,

[wm.kl. 6:45 pm 17/05/10]

Dr M is starting another May 13 soon by writing another hate letter

Najib and the Devil?

By FMT staff
UPDATED KUALA LUMPUR: Popular blogger Tulang Besi has reproduced Dr Mahathir Mohamad's scathing letter to first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman penned in the aftermath of the May 13, 1969 racial riots.

The letter, which was widely distributed back then, had led to Mahathir's expulsion from Umno.

Tulang Besi, who operates the Malaysia Waves blog, pointed out that the letter clearly blamed Tunku for the bloodletting.

"So I am perplexed as to why (Malay pressure group) Perkasa is blaming the Chinese," he said.

Tulang Besi's posting comes in the wake of a Malay unity rally, slated for May 13, being postponed following instructions from the top.

It is learnt that Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's administration had pulled the plug following strong objections from both sides of the political divide.

Sources claimed that the premier was worried that the event would provide fodder to the opposition to sway Chinese votes in the Sibu by-election, which saw the parliamentary constituency fall to DAP last night.

Barisan Nasional is said to be shell-shocked by its defeat in Sibu, which is incidentally a Chinese-majority seat.

The rally, themed "Melayu Bangkit" (Rise Malays), was supposed to be officiated by Mahathir, and its postponement is said to have irked the former premier and groups like Perkasa.

He told reporters later that the tragedy should not be forgotten, as it is an important history lesson to prevent such an incident from recurring.

Mahathir's advise to Najib

Following the April 25 Hulu Selangor by-election, which saw more than 80% of Chinese voters backing the opposition candidate, Mahathir had issued a stern warning to Najib.

The former premier told his protege that the Malays feel that Umno is now unable to protect them from the attacks launched by "extremist" Chinese groups.

He suggested that Najib forget about wooing the Chinese, who would never vote for BN, and focus on keeping Malay support instead.

Since assuming the reins of leadership in April last year, Najib has been causing discomfort among the more ultra-Malays with his all-inclusive policies. Talk is rife that a mutiny is brewing in Umno.

Najib's New Economic Model has also caused alarm among Malay groups, who fear that a more meritocratic approach would lead to them losing out to other races, especially the Chinese.

Observers also highlighted the "differences" which cropped up during the Malay entrepreneurs convention over the weekend, where Najib stressed on merit, and urged Malay businessmen to buck up.

The audience, noted the observers, was far from enthusiatic.

His deputy Muhyiddin Yassin, on the other hand, was greeted by fervent chants of "Hidup Melayu" (Long Live the Malays) from certain quarters when he took to the podium.

Mahathir, who also spoke at the convention, took a swipe at Najib's Economic Model, underscoring the importance of striking balanced economic development between the races.

Dismissing critics' claim that the previous New Economic Policy was a stumbling block to the nation's progress, the former premier called for Najib's model to be re-looked.

Will Dr M pen another letter?

These developments have left observers wondering if a realignment of forces is taking shape in Umno, and if Mahathir is on the verge of penning another letter similar to the one he had sent to Tunku.

In his letter to Tunku, Mahathir had said: "You have told me yourself that you had prevented riots by stopping the death sentence on 11 subversive Chinese. But it is this action of yours which led to the riots and resulted in scores of deaths since May 13."

"You have always compromised, giving in to the Chinese's demands. The core of this compromise was revoking the abovementioned death sentence. This caused great anger among the Malays.

"The Chinese consider you and the Alliance government cowardly and weak and could be pushed around. This is why the Chinese are no longer afraid to reject the Alliance and the Malays also do not favour it.

"This is why the Chinese and Indians behaved rudely (membuat kurang ajar) towards the Malays..."

Unpublished evidence

Meanwhile in a related development, Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali responded to Tulang Besi by stating that he has evidence to support claims that it was the Chinese who sparked the May 13 tragedy.

"It was all caused by the procession on May 9 where they first shouted dirty words at the Malays. These was all recorded," he told FMT today.

"I have the evidence of these in an unpublished book that is in my possession. I have also spoken to many ex-army, ex-policemen and residents of Kuala Lumpur from that time," said Ibrahim, who declined to name the author of the said book.

Asylum, a lifestyle blog for men, gave the low-down of how celery helps men get down: "androstenone is a steroid that is found in human sweat.

It gives off a scent, or sex pheromone, that makes men more attractive. Because the cytoplasm of celery contains androstenone, eating it can actually increase the human levels of the steroid and the pheromone-secretion level."

Kaum Cina Tak Heran Lagi Isu Negara Islam

Malaysia Timur bukan lagi deposit tetap BN

SUPP mungkin jadi MIC

DAP won the election. But, one has to remember why DAP won. Not because of the religion issues being brought up by the opposition. But, it was a protest vote. Yes, protest vote. Flood issues, gangsterism, traffic jam etc are the main cause why the people voted opposition. Just like what happened in Kuching. People voted DAP because of 'ncreased of electricity tariffs by SESCO(Sarawak's version of TNB). Remember that!

Let me tell you something, just ask anyone in Sibu, you will understand the people are not satisfied. Since Sibu is my second home, every year I went back there for Gawai, so, more or less, I understand what the Sibu people's felt. My conversation with the taxi drivers made me realized more why the people of Sibu pissed off with the state government. They are not satisfied with the roads, flood condition, traffic and etc.

395 majority should not become a measurement for victory. 395 is too small for victory. Sadly, the longhouses still the traditional supporter of ruling government. One reason, no support, the tuai rumah (village head) will be sacked and no development will be given to your place. Yes, that is Iban's dilemma for years. There is no strong leaders to fight with these Ibans. Maybe if DAP concentrate on win the heart of Ibans, something could change. Issues like electricity, NCR lands, the rights of tuai rumah (tanpa perlu dikongkong oleh kerajaan untuk mentadbir kawasannya) etc.....

I hope next time please don't bring up such stupid issues again in Sarawak's state election, like religion. Anyway, hope DAP's victory will gives signal to state government to change their attitude. A big slap on their face. wow!

SUPP -Sarawak useless people's party (hahahaha)
PBB - parti bulak belama (parti selalu tipu)
*got this from FB posted by some bloggers*

p/s: hope this upcoming state election more surprises are coming. I don't think the money allocation for Sibu will be given, since BN lost....erm...kesian orang Sibu....

Selepas Tsunami (After the Tsunami) by Pusat KOMAS

Selepas Tsunami is a documentary produced by Big Pictures for KOMAS about the changes post March 8, 2008 elections. It is primarily meant to be used as voter and democracy education in Malaysia. Just two days ago, 243 copies were seized by Sibu police on pretext that it was seditious.

The next day, the police reverted saying that they have checked it out and its NOT seditious but have since failed to return the VCDs. One cannot help but to wonder if the authorities are attempting to stop the distribution of these VCDs that contain important information that may influence votes in the Sibu by-election. Haris Ibrahim is the documentary's presenter, while lawyers Ambiga Sreenevasan and Latheefa Koya are among the people interviewed. Watch it and decide for yourself: Seditious or not seditious? Should the people of Sibu watch this before they voted?

The 12th General Election did not only result in the change of government in four states or the lost of Barisan Nasional two-thirds majority in Parliament. It brought along many practices never seen before in the governmant system. In Selangor, a body under the state assembly was formed to monitor the use of public funds. In the federal Parliament the increasing presence of opposition representatives has resulted in more serious debates. Today, UMNO and Barisan Nasional has started speaking the language of change. However, the real reform process is not as easy as voting on polling day. This documentary discusses the meaning behind those promised changes. Info on KOMAS - komas.org
