BHP Cheras accident: Woman could have been saved!

Petrol attendants refused use of fire extinguisher

BHP fiasco
WHAT WAS LEFT: The wreckage of the burnt out Perodua Myvi next to the lorry
KUALA LUMPUR: While a bystander Teo Chai Yong, 31, rushed to obtain a fire extinguisher to help rescue a woman from her blazing car early yesterday morning, he claimed other witnesses just watched indifferently.
Wondering what happened to the famed Malaysian ever-helpful spirit, he said: "The dozens of bystanders just roamed around, taking pictures and videos like it was some freak show."
Already saddened by this display of poor attitude, he was further angered by how discussions were taking place on how a post-mortem would be conducted on the charred flesh.
"It was so disgusting. How can these people be so insensitive and casual about such a tragic death?"
Teo was heading home during the 3.30am incident near the Cheras velodrome, when he came across a three-car pileup involving a Perodua Myvi, a Toyota Vios and a lorry.
"At first, I only saw the upside down Toyota Vios and the front passenger was being pulled out as I drove by. So, I thought everything was under control. Seconds later, I heard a woman screaming from the Perodua Myvi wreckage.
"I stopped my car and quickly ran towards the Myvi to get her out as I dialed the emergency line, 999. As I got closer, I saw flame flickers at the engine area waiting to ignite, my first instinct was to put it out immediately. I ran back into my car and rushed to the nearest BHPetrol station about 300 metres away to get a fire extinguisher."
Despite his desperate pleading, Teo claimed: "The petrol attendants refused his plea and said they were not allowed to loan out the fire extinguisher. I was even willing to leave my IC with them as a guarantee, but they still did not budge."
Outraged, he started banging on the glass door and shouted at them.
"Instead of handing me the fire extinguisher, one of the attendants said all my actions were being recorded via the CCTV, as he took down my car registration number and threatened to lodge a police report."
Finally giving up, Teo drove back to the scene and realised his efforts were in vain because by that time, the car was completely engulfed in flames.
Recalling this disheartening sight, Teo said: "I could not stop blaming myself and kept thinking 'If only I'd gotten the fire extinguisher'. I stood there helplessly hearing her screams as she was burnt alive. The screams were the hardest to bear."
Teo was even more devastated when the police, who arrived at the scene also told him the girl could have been saved if he had obtained the fire extinguisher in time.
When contacted, BHPetrol station operator Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd issued a statement to The Malay Mail stating: "We regret this has happened. The incident took place at 3am.
"Thefts and robberies at service stations are common during these hours. Thus staff at the service station were only concerned and did not respond to the request as the attendant could not see the accident which took place some 300m away."

Ulasan GB

Cerita & Gambar-Gambar Dari Gaza Untuk Dikongsi Bersama...

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 05:55 AM PDT

UIA pun dah bagus!!!)

Gaza (Palestine)

Terbahagi kepada 2 – Hamas dan Fatah… Belah Fatah ada Kasino!

Kata wartawan dari Belgium dan Itali, the best strawberry in the world comes from Gaza !

Moyang Rasulullah SAW dikebumikan dia sini (lupa nama... tapi dia mention Hashim…).

Beautiful country, iklim Mediterranean. boleh kalahkan Los Angeles kalau tak kerana peperangan..

Hamas

Mayat tak reput langsung, bila kubur dibedil oleh Israel… punyalah jahat bangsa Yahudi/Zionis, kubur pun dibedil konon tempat simpan senjata.

Semua resolusi PBB, satu pun Israel tak ikut!!! Ada back-up besar lah katakan...

Rakyat Palestine

Sedih Razali tengok dia orang rebus rumput sebab dah tak de makanan.

Manikavasagam kemudian meninggalkan dewan.

-TVS

Hanya Saksi Buat Akuan Bersumpah Layak Beri Keterangan

-SK

If even a blockade, the most passive and benign of defenses, is impermissible, what defenses does Israel have left?

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 05:47 AM PDT

The world is outraged at Israel's blockade of Gaza. Turkey denounces its illegality, inhumanity, barbarity, etc. The usual U.N. suspects, Third World and European, join in. The Obama administration dithers. But as Leslie Gelb, former president of the Council on Foreign Relations, writes, the blockade is not just perfectly rational, it is perfectly legal. Gaza under Hamas is a self-declared enemy of Israel — a declaration backed up by more than 4,000 rockets fired at Israeli civilian territory. Yet having pledged itself to unceasing belligerency, Hamas claims victimhood when Israel imposes a blockade to prevent Hamas from arming itself with still more rockets.

In World War II, with full international legality, the United States blockaded Germany and Japan. And during the October 1962 missile crisis, we blockaded ("quarantined") Cuba. Yet Israel is accused of international criminality for doing precisely what John Kennedy did: impose a naval blockade to prevent a hostile state from acquiring lethal weaponry.

Oh, but weren't the Gaza-bound ships on a mission of humanitarian relief? No. Otherwise they would have accepted Israel's offer to bring their supplies to an Israeli port, be inspected for military materiĆ©l, and have the rest trucked by Israel into Gaza — as every week 10,000 tons of food, medicine, and other humanitarian supplies are sent by Israel to Gaza.

Why was the offer refused? Because, as organizer Greta Berlin admitted, the flotilla was not about humanitarian relief but about breaking the blockade, i.e., ending Israel's inspection regime, which would mean unlimited shipping into Gaza and thus the unlimited arming of Hamas. Israel has already twice intercepted weapons-laden ships from Iran destined for Hezbollah and Gaza. What country would allow that?

But even more important, why did Israel even have to resort to blockade? Because blockade is Israel's fallback as the world systematically delegitimizes its traditional ways of defending itself — forward and active defense.

1. Forward defense: As a small, densely populated country surrounded by hostile states, Israel had, for its first half-century, adopted forward defense — fighting wars on enemy territory (such as the Sinai peninsula and Golan Heights) rather than its own. An Open Letter to Turkey by Sultan Knish

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 06:25 AM PDT

Ever since you decided to trade in the Secularism of Ataturk for the Islamism of Erdogan, you also seem to have dispensed with the ability to coexist with non-Muslims on a peaceful basis. These days all we ever seem to get from you, is video clips of your leader, Prime Minister Erdogan, barking at us like a dog that its owner carelessly let off the leash. And if you don't know that Erdogan's owner lives in Riyadh, then you don't know very much of what goes on in your own country.

But your affairs are your own affairs. And our affairs are our affairs. If you want to let a fanatic in a cheap suit destroy Turkish nationalism in the name of Islam, that's your business. But when he gets into business with terrorist organizations who attack and murder our soldiers, then it's our business. And when a country that persecutes its Kurdish, Assyrian and Armenian citizens, and sends their elected representatives to jail-- presumes to self-righteously lecture us on how to manage our affairs, it had better remember that holding a stone throwing contest in a glass house will just lead to piles of broken glass.

You say you want an international investigation into the flotilla raid? Sure. Right after we have an international investigation into that minor matter of Armenian genocide that you've been ducking for quite a while. As the new "standard bearer" in fighting for human rights, I'm sure you will agree that it's only fair that Turkey should undergo the same scrutiny it demands for other countries.

And then we can move on to the more than 10,000 political prisoners in your jails. A number that at times has topped 100,000. An independent investigation could also begin by looking into the torture and murder of political activists such as Engin Ceber. They could meet with representatives of TAYAD, the organization representing the families of prisoners. And they would no doubt be fascinated by the more than 1500 children in your prisons who are there on "terrorism" charges. Like that 12 year old you arrested in 2008 for singing a Kurdish folk song. So by all means wrap yourselves in the banner of "Human Rights" and we'll turn it into a noose and strangle you with it. Continued here in full....

The Signs ...

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 05:55 AM PDT

We all get old eventually and with old age comes all kinds of trials and tribulation. And of course, there will be loads of signs to indicate just how old and senile you're becoming.

Sign Number One

You hunt all over the car frantically searching for your blue tooth headset cos you need to make an important call and of course not using your hands-free car kit is a crime.

Of course rummaging through your car while driving searching for your hands-free car kit should also be considered a crime in itself but we're not going to talk about that for now.

As I was saying, you search high and low looking for your blue tooth headset cursing profanities all the way and then you find it sitting snugly in your ear where it was all along!

Sign Number Two

You walk upstairs to take or do something and when you get there you totally forget just what it was you wanted to take or do.

Also the same as you tell someone something and then in the next few minutes you go and tell them the same thing again and again!

Sign Number Three

You memorize a list of things to do for the day and then totally forget to do about 85% of the things on that list.

You only realize you've forgotten when you get home and your wife goes,

'Have you done that, this and those yet?'

And that's when you go 'Oh, Crap!'

Sign Number Four

Your wife comes to you and asks you why does it take so long for you to finish that bottle of shampoo that you've been using for months and months and you point at your head and say,

'Urmmmm, that's because I don't have that much hair these days, honey …'

Sign Number Five

You supposed to write a post about prenatal vitamins and end up writing something else altogether.

Sign Number Six

You can't remember what you did just ten minutes ago.

The list goes on but you get the picture, right? It sucks growing old!

The programme of the fellowship gathering was movie appreciation. It was on the life of Roy Chiao Hung - his role in the movie circle as a dedicated Christian. The show was simply a testimony of Roy Chiao Hung's love for God and how God worked through him.

After the gathering, we posed for a group photo. Fouth from right on the front row is Pastor Yong.

Adakah Najib Sekutu Yahudi, Tinggalkan Negara Semasa Rakyat Kutuk Rejim Israel?

Posted: 04 Jun 2010 05:21 AM PDT
