Tempat-Tempat Mustajab Berdoa Di Masjidil Nabawi

Setelah Rasulullah s.a.w. wafat, para sahabat bertanyakan mengenai tiang tersebut kepada A'aisyah r.ah, tetapi A'aisyah r.ah enggan memberitahu kedudukan tiang tersebut. Namun setelah para sahabat pergi, kelihatan A'aisyah membisikkan sesuatu kepada anak saudaranya iaitu Urwah Ibnu Zubair.

Rasulullah menjawab, "Boleh jika kamu menghendaki."

Memilih Pembaca

Pertamanya, aku inginkan dia wanita jelita,
melangkah, hati-hati, pada puisi-puisiku,
di petang hari, di waktu paling sepi,
rambutnya masih basah di tengkuk
yang baru dicuci. Dia semestinya memakai
lalu dibaca sepintas kumpulan puisiku.

favourite pass-time in malaysia: lodging police report

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 10:17 AM PDT

… and thus no wonder our police are so busy acting on these police reports that they have no time go be out there to catch criminals…. and oh of course they only act fast on police reports made by umno or umno"s proxy for extremism, perkasa.

i'm sure many of you would have been aware that lately there were so many reports, especially from perkasa and oh well… friends of perkasa espcially against opposition MPs. e.g. the police report against serdang MP teo for entering a surau, the police report against PJ MP tony pua for making a remark about doing away with discount for bumi buying house over RM500K. the police report against nurul izzah for an article she wrote about article 153, the police report against namewee's 'nah' video, the police report against a christian preacher of something happened 6 years ago…… the list goes on and on non stop (you get to know more from the hartal msm blog – mentioned below). and at all those reports, sooner than you can say "i-bra-him!", the police had called in those people (who were reported against) for questioning.

wait! hold your horses. the best is yet to come… yesterday BTN deputy director, hamim, lodged a police report against the malaysian insider for reporting on his racist remarks of 'si mata sepet' and 'si botol'. gosh! will the malaysian insider reporter be called in for questioning by the police soon? will perkasa demand for the reporter to be ISA-ed because the reporter, as the perkasa youth chief, aman, said is "jeopardising the country's racial harmony"? and why is perkasa protecting hamin? more interestingly enough to ask – why did hamin, a civil servant, and obviously a umno member, partner with perkasa to lodge the police report? what's this we hear… umno does not support perkasa, perkasa does not support umno?

incidentally, speaking about the perkasa youth chief, arman , the blog hartal msm had an interesting take about him being present at so many police report incidents. read it ans see for yourself.

UMNO Tiupkan Api Perkauman Untuk Kekal Berkuasa

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 09:55 AM PDT

Tindakan-tindakan perkauman pegawai awam akan berterusan selagi Umno memerintah negara ini, kata Naib Presiden PAS Datuk Mahfuz Omar.

Menurutnya, Umno tiada pilihan lain untuk terus kekal berkuasa selain terus meniupkan api perkauman seperti mereka lakukan sejak dahulu lagi.

"Apa lagi yang pemimpin Umno hendak cakap selain perkauman? Bila bercakap soal demokrasi, rakyat mencemuh mereka kerana mereka tidak demokratik.

"Bila bercakap soal ekonomi, penyokong-penyokong Umno sendiri mempersendakan mereka seperti yang terjadi kepada Program Transformasi Ekonomi (ETP) yang dicanang-canangkan oleh (Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri) Najib (Tun Razak), " katanya.

Sebab itulah, kata Mahfuz, amaran Ketua Setiausaha Negara, Tan Sri Mohd.

-harakahdaily

Azmin is immodest

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 11:25 AM PDT

It was immodest for Azmin Ali to call Tun Dr Mahathir 'a fallen leader'. Some people may label Azmin a wretch for uttering such words while others would regard it as improper, like what DPM Muhyiddin said (here).

Perhaps Azmin, the PKR vice-president should look back at where he used to belong. When he was with Anwar Ibrahim at the DPM's office, he was full of praise for the former premier. I remember him describing Dr M as a leader everyone should respect and appreciate.

That was about 15 years ago. And now that he is with the Opposition, he finds it necessary to batter the 'warlord' whose Cabinet decided to sack Anwar. Or he was finding an 'overkill' element prior to the PKR party elections.

But still, I dont find it necessary to say such things, especially when you dont really understand what a fallen leader is. Obviously it is not Dr M, who has steered Malaysia into what it is today. With an average economic growth of 8 per cent throughout his 22 years tenancy as a Prime Minister, switching Malaysia from an agricultural to an industrial-based economy, reducing poverty from 28 per cent in 1980 to less that 4 per cent at the time of his retirement, placing Malaysia well on the diplomatic map, making Malaysia as one of the world's most competitive economies...etc, etc... you called him a fallen leader?

What Azmin said was a sock to Malaysia and the majority of its people who see Dr M as a true leader. Even those who used to call him a dictator and oppose his policies have high respect for him. For a politician as young as Azmin, such a statement backfires easily - not only from those who support the government but also from those who are not.

A fallen leader refers to someone who fails his country and his people, a leader who fails to bring about development to his country, someone who is highly corrupt, a leader who practices corporate and legalistic entity, one who puts his country into disarray, someone who cant accept defeat and a leader who easily sells his soul to foreign forces.

No, Dr M is not such. I think Azmin admits the fact but as he is with Anwar, he cant say good things about Dr M anymore. We can understand that.

I hope Azmin doesnt turn from 'bad to evil'. He can stay with the Opposition but he should stay clear with his own good conscience. He should be able to distinguish between the moon and the sun...

Dutch anti-Islam lawmaker challenges race trial judges

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 08:33 AM PDT

Mein Kampf

The Star:Dutch anti-Islam lawmaker challenges race trial judges By Aaron Gray-Block

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Dutch anti-Islamist politician Geert Wilders, a key player in efforts to form a new government, accused judges trying him on charges of inciting hatred of scandalous bias and demanded they be replaced.

Wilders, who has 24-hour police guard because of death threats, went on trial on Monday over comments including a comparison he made between the Islamic faith and Nazism.

The prosecutor, reacting to complaints about Wilders, originally said he was protected by the right to free speech, but a court overruled him and ordered that Wilders be charged.

Anti-racism group the Netherlands Admits Colour, which helped initiate the case against Wilders, has placed 100 comments by Wilders online to back its allegation that he is responsible for xenophobia and discrimination.

"I have said what I have said and I will not take one word back, but that doesn't mean I've said everything attributed to me," Wilders said before invoking his right to remain silent.

That stance prompted the presiding judge to say that Wilders had been accused by others of making statements while avoiding debate and that it appeared he was doing the same in court.

"I find it … inappropriate, improper and even scandalous the chairman of the court interprets this and commentates on it," Wilders said at a separate hearing hastily held to discuss concerns raised by his lawyer Bram Moszkowicz about the impartiality of the judges.

"The appearance of bias … has been invoked. A fair process is no longer possible," Wilders added.

But Geert-Jan Alexander Knoops, an international criminal law professor at Utrecht University, said it was difficult to assess whether the court had crossed the line as the remarks do not necessarily say anything about Wilders's guilt or innocence.

Judges adjourned the trial and will decide at about 1200 GMT on Tuesday on the issue of the judges' impartiality.

If the court rules in favour of the defence's objections, new judges must be imposed, delaying the trial for months.

GOVERNMENT ROLE

The trial comes at an awkward time for Wilders, whose party is poised to gain a powerful role in the running of the country through its support of a minority government made up of the Liberals (VVD) and Christian Democrat (CDA) parties.

A CDA congress voted in favour of entering into a minority government with support from the Freedom Party on Saturday, but remains split over the prospect of relying on Wilders' support. A final decision on the matter will be made on Tuesday.

"He divides, he creates hate, he creates conflicts between people. Some people can't accept this. Other people can," said Mohammed Rabbae of the National Council for Moroccans.

There was a small group of anti-Wilders protestors outside the heavily-policed Amsterdam court building on Monday and one protest banner said a Wilders-backed Dutch government would stand for "discord and polarisation".

If convicted, Wilders faces a maximum sentence of one year imprisonment or a fine, but would be able to keep his parliamentary seat.

In theory, the court could impose a sentence preventing him running for re-election, but such a drastic ruling is considered by legal experts to be highly unlikely.

In his 2008, film "Fitna" he said the Koran incited violence and in an opinion piece in a Dutch daily he compared Islam to fascism and the Koran to Adolf Hitler's book "Mein Kampf".

The case against him is reminiscent of the trial of French politician Jean Marie Le Pen, who was first convicted in 2005 for inciting hatred against Muslims. The European Court for Human rights denied Le Pen's appeal in April.

Suu Kyi to sue Myanmar junta over dissolution

Source_MInsider:Suu Kyi to sue Myanmar junta over dissolution

YANGON, Oct 4 – Myanmar's detained Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi will try to sue the country's military rulers for dissolving her political party after it decided to boycott next month's election, her lawyer said today.

Suu Kyi (picture), who is currently under house arrest for breach of an internal security law, told lawyers of her now defunct National League for Democracy (NLD) party to file a lawsuit with the Supreme Court.

"On her behalf we will demand that the court declares that the NLD is still in existence," lawyer Nyan Win said.

Legal experts said it was highly unlikely the case would be accepted by the court, which usually rules in favour of the military regime that has kept Suu Kyi in detention for 15 of the last 21 years.

Some even suggested the move could anger the junta so much that it might seek to detain her longer to prevent her from trying to derail the formation of a post election government that is likely to be dominated by army generals.

Suu Kyi's current term of house arrest is due to expire on November 13, six days after the country's first election in two decades and at a time when parliament will convene to choose a president.

"I don't think it's worth challenging the regime at this point," said a retired judge in Yangon. "It's sure to backfire and give the regime a pretext to to extend her house arrest."

The NLD, which won the 1990 polls in a landslide but was denied the chance to rule, voted in March to boycott the polls because of "unfair and unjust" election laws and the continued detention of hundreds of its members.

The NLD was disbanded last month because it missed a May 7 deadline to re-register as a political party and was therefore declared an "unlawful association" by the election commission.

Without the NLD's participation, two parties backed by the military are expected to sweep the polls, meaning parliament will be dominated by serving generals or the army's political proxies.

The National Democratic Force, formed by a renegade NLD faction, is the biggest of the pro-democracy parties but is contesting only 14 per cent of constituencies nationwide. – Reuters

PM Datuk Sri Najib kickstarts bid to reverse brain drain

Source_MInsider:Najib kickstarts bid to reverse brain drain

BRUSSELS, Oct 4 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today that Malaysia's Talent Corporation will be launched in January to arrest the country's growing brain drain problem.

The exodus of local talent to more developed countries has threatened his vision of transforming Malaysia into a high-income nation by 2020.

"Previously, we waited for them to get back to us but this time we will seek them out," Najib told reporters here on last night.

"We will find out what it takes for them to consider going back home, and at the same time create more business opportunities and pay them wages that are more aligned with global wages," he said.

Companies have complained about the lack of skilled labour in Malaysia and economists have cited this problem as a hindrance in the country's ability to attract more high-technology industries. About 80 per cent of the country's workforce only has secondary school education.

About 700,000 Malaysians are currently living abroad, with half of them in Singapore, while the rest can be found mostly in Australia, Britain and the United States.

An Australian immigration agency in Perth with offices in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor has reportedly said that the number of Malaysians enquiring about moving to Australia had spiked by 80 per cent since 2008.

Last night, Najib pointed out that numerous government initiatives had been successful in injecting optimism among Malaysians abroad who now saw the opportunities for them to return and contribute to the country's development.

"They see a wider opportunity for them to play a role. I believe that if we can implement our programmes in the near future, their level of optimism will increase because they already like our new plans and strategies," said the prime minister.

Previous government attempts to lure back Malaysian expatriates, such as the Brain Gain Malaysia and Returning Expert programmes, however, have had little success.

They have attracted fewer than 3,000 applicants despite offering financial incentives like importing cars tax-free and efforts to ease access to permanent residency for foreign spouses.

Yesterday, Najib cited effective and swift execution of the programmes as the key to draw back Malaysian expatriates.

"I think the icing on the cake will be how fast we can implement the various projects and business opportunities that have been identified; only then will we be able to attract the Malaysian diaspora to consider going back," he said.

Many Malaysians living abroad, however, have reportedly cited racial tension and affirmative action policies among their concerns about returning to their homeland.

Although Najib has said that affirmative action would be made "market-friendly, merit-based, transparent and needs-based" under the New Economic Model, his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin recently stressed that the economic plan would protect the Malay agenda.

A sour reaction from Malay rights groups had also forced Najib to backtrack and call the policy a "trial balloon".

Economist Terence Gomez was reported as saying that it was crucial for Malaysia to change affirmative action policies and become more of a meritocracy to bring back the diaspora.

Meanwhile, London School of Economics and Political Science economics professor Danny Quah had pointed out that brain drain has had a huge impact on Malaysia's economic and industrial development for the past decade or longer.

Malaysia's growth rate dropped to an average of 5.5 per cent a year from 2000 to 2008, from an average of about 9 per cent a year from 1991 to 1997.

The country is also facing uncertain economic prospects with average GDP growth in the next five years projected to be just shy of the six per cent target Najib had set.

Foreign direct investment plunged a record 81 per cent last year and the World Bank has warned that a lack of human capital is a "critical constraint in Malaysia's ambition to become a high-income economy."

The number of Malaysian migrants rose by more than 100-fold in a 45-year period, from 9,576 Malaysians in 1960 to 1,489,168 Malaysians in 2005, according to the World Bank.

Malaysian migrants with tertiary education living in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, numbered at 102,321 in the year 2000.

Deputy Foreign Minister Senator A. Kohilan Pillay said recently that 304,358 Malaysians had migrated from March 2008 till August 2009 compared with 139,696 Malaysians in 2007.

Initiative is to woo back Malaysians working overseas

BRUSSELS: The Talent Corporation, which has been tasked with encouraging Malaysian professionals overseas to return home, will start operating in January.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the Government was in the midst of hiring key personnel for the corporation, which will headhunt Malaysians who want to come back and work.

"We are creating more exciting things to attract Malaysians and foreigners to come back and play a part in the next level of growth.

"If we can create more opportunities, some of you might want to come back and those married to Belgians can bring spouses with you, they will be allowed to work.

"Our policy is to be more open because a society that is open will thrive in the 21st century. A society that is closed up will not attract the best brains, you will attract mediocre people and the good ones would have left the country and we will be a lot poorer as a result of that," he told some 200 Malaysians living in Belgium and Luxembourg during a Hari Raya gathering hosted by him and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor Sunday night.

The Prime Minister is in Brussels to attend the Asia-Europe Summit, which will end Tuesday.

Najib had announced the setting up of the corporation when tabling the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP), saying the Talent Corporation would identify shortages in key sectors and attract and retain the necessary skilled human capital.

The Talent Corporation, will be under the Prime Minister's Department, and will provide an integrated skilled human capital blueprint with the cooperation of the public and private sectors.

Meanwhile, according to Bernama, Najib, in his speech, said Malaysia was going through an exciting time.

"We are now turning the bend and going the final stretch towards the year of reckoning … to become a developed nation by the year 2020," he said.

He also spoke of the 1Malaysia concept and said that it was not a slogan but a guiding philosophy for Malaysia in formulating policies and actions.

"It does not mean that everything will be perfect, or that once we have a concept, everyone will fall in line. You will have situations in which a few individuals will make remarks about certain things.

"But it doesn't mean that it is a failure," he said.

"It means that we really need the 1Malaysia concept." – Bernama

Keshvinder Singh Sertai PPP, Tidak Mahu Umum Berapa Habuan Yang Diterima.

Adun bebas Keshvinder Singh umum sertai PPP

Keputusan bersalah diputuskan Mahkamah Majistret Kota Bharu .

Discriminatory and Prejudice

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 07:14 AM PDT

In today's (Sept 4, 2010) news report, it was quoted that the Kedah Department of Health will not recommend for service excellence for its staff if they are smokers, which I guess is the prerogative of the department concern which however is smack of discriminatory and prejudice against smokers for whatever reasons provided.

Whilst, in embarking on this, I hazard a guess that it is ok to be addicted to other substances and alcohol for one to be recommended for the service excellence award. One the other hand, what about those who play corporate politics, ass-kissers, backstabbers and practicing cronyism and nepotism?DSC00061

I believe that whatever it is, service excellence has got nothing to do with you being a smoker or not! Period!

Minor Milestones of Daryn Mishka from 115-125 days

Posted: 04 Oct 2010 07:09 AM PDT

At about 115 days Thida started trying to give very soft solid food, scraped avocado pear or alligator pear and smashed soft rice. She likes a lot, and show her anger if Thida and Ma Khin are slow to feed her.

When her mother came back from duty at HKL, the first thing she do was smile and move her lips against each other as if girls do to even the newly applied lipsticks. I immediately understand that because I showed her and teased her when her grandma was feeding her. She was actually telling her mother about her first experience of eating solid foods.

Below her update photos at 100 days about her kissing. Now if we ask her to touch us, she stretched her hand to touch our mouth or cheek.

Last night she hold the napkin, smell it, touch her mouth repeatedly and was happy holding that. Just like her mum and uncles.

Last night I was carrying her and walking, because of the TV3 midnight news, I stopped for a while in front of TV. We know that she used to look at the TV on and off but when the newscaster was alone talking, Daryn lookup, smile, nod her chin forwards and try to talk with her own words. She repeated three times like that because she thought the newscaster was talking to her.

Today (04-10-10) my wife told me that Daryn look at her mother in the morning (Fari is on leave today) and keep on telling Ah Poo, Ah Poo. Fari could not understand at first, later only Daryn's usual features when she want to defecate appear; sad anxious face in pain and usual noise came out, Fari understands that Daryn want to Poo Poo. It is typical for her because she used to pass motion once in every 2 or 3 days only.

(Sorry, I even have no time to read back once. I will edit later)
