3 pakar patologi kekal keputusan Teoh mati akibat jatuh

Ia dianggotai bekas Hakim Mahkamah Persekutuan Datuk Abdul Kadir Sulaiman, bekas Hakim Mahkamah Rayuan Datuk T.S.Nathan, Pakar Perunding Patologi Forensik Hospital Pulau Pinang Datuk Dr Bhupinder Singh dan Pakar Perunding Psikiatri Forensik serta Dekan Fakulti Perubatan Kolej Universiti Sains Perubatan Cyberjaya Prof Dr Mohamed Hatta Shaharom.

Zakar Dan Dubur Anwar Diperiksa

"Kami terpaksa berhenti serta-merta.

Mahkamah kemudiannya memangil pegawai yang menahan Anwar, Supt Ahmad Taufik is called into the courtroom to be identified by Anwar.

Menurut ketua pembangkang itu, beliau kemudian diarahkan ke bilik mesyuarat IPK KL (Ibu Pejabat Kontijen Polis Kuala Lumpur).

Sankara dan ahli parlimen Subang, Sivarasa Rasiah datang kemudiannya.

"Saya bertanya mengapa mereka melakukan saya sedemikian tetapi mereka berkata mereka mahu kerjasama saya dalam hal ini meskipun saya nyatakan saya mahu jumpa Jude."

Zakar, dubur diperiksa

"Saya tanya mereka, 'awak minta saya beri keterangan, apa lagi mahu?' Mereka sepatutnya membebaskan saya."

-mk

Travel Misadventures

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 07:22 AM PST

This afternoon, I received the saddening news that someone stole my cousin's bag that had his passport, green card, wallet with credit cards, phone and camera just after he landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris. He only had a carry on bag so he took the metro and when he was walking out, two kids dropped some coins near him. Being the kindhearted gentleman that he is, he stopped, put his backpack beside his trolley bag and helped the boys to pick up their coins.

When he got up, he turned around and his bag was gone. And the two kids as well.

Right now, I do not know how to contact him but I know he had to spend the whole day yesterday at the police station filing a report and also at the Malaysian consulate. He has to get a temporary emergency travel cert and other documentation from the American Embassy to reenter America. Apart from that, he has to return to Malaysia to apply for a new passport.

What a horrible start to what was meant to be a holiday for him in Paris, Milan and then Istanbul!

I am deeply distressed as I am worried for him and hope that he can get his travel documents without much hassle.

Travelling can be a stressful affair. I have had my own share of misadventures as well.

Years ago, I was in Europe on a vacation with a friend. I had kept a small bottle of Ipoh Oil in the front pocket of my backpack. One morning, I was in Nice, queueing up at a post office to buy stamps to send my husband a postcard. There was no Internet then in 1992. Suddenly, I caught a whiff of Ipoh Oil in the air. Golly - I thought to myself - they must be marketing geniuses to have made inroads even in Nice! And then it hit me. Someone must have unzipped my backpack!

I turned around and standing behind me was a gypsy with a towel draped on his left shoulder. He turned away and then promptly ran away!

A few days later in Rome, I was walking just outside the catacombs area. A couple of kids ran up to me waving a map which they shoved at me. The tour guide had already briefed us about the usual modus operandi of pickpockets so I quickly turned and walked off. Another tourist in the bus was not so lucky. She helped the kid and while studying the map, she was completely unaware that the kid had adroitly unzipped her pouch and nicked her wallet.

I know of another friend who lost his laptop in Hamburg. He had left it in his trolley which he was pushing slowly as he was in transit for about 2 hours. Another passenger came up to him and asked for directions to the check-in counter. He turned to point in the right direction after which the passenger thanked him. By the time he turned round to push his trolley, his laptop was GONE!

Apart from such misadventures, I have also had the misfortune of travelling with fusspots. The worst case scenario was that 1992 summer vacation with the girl. Obviously, we shared a room throughout the five-week vacation. During that time:

* I was not allowed to flush the toilet in the middle of the night if I had to go and ease myself
* I was not allowed to get up before she did
* I was not allowed to clear my throat in the middle of the night- I have a sinusitis problem and sometimes have post-nasal drip
* I was not allowed to make any noise at all if I had to get up in the morning to get my stuff from my luggage to shower. Everything had to be taken out the night before, she said!
* I was not allowed to turn if we shared a twin-bed - Thank goodness I only had the misfortune to share a twin bed with her ONCE in Switzerland.
* if she wanted to borrow my money for shopping, I would lend her but if I needed $, she would say, "Wait. Let me finish my shopping first."
* and many more horrible conditions

Believe me. It was the worst holiday of my life. I remember sitting in the square in Vienna and crying my eyes out when writing a postcard to my husband. Looking back, I kick myself for being such a weakling and a wimp. Yuks! How disgraceful to be so weak and emotionally feeble. Yup - I used to be such an emo idiot. Scared, timid, emotional and insecure. If this had happened to me now, aha - it would have been a very different tale....mua hahahaha!!

On another holiday to Perth with another colleague, I ended up having to be coffee and tea lady for my travel partner who was finicky but not as cantankerous as the one I had in Europe. By the fourth day, I told her that if she wanted to have coffee, she had to boil water herself. Yup - she broke the kettle jug.

Since 1992, I have always opted to travel ALONE or with people whom I really know true and through. It is safer, less stressful and I can do whatever I want.

Where security is concerned, I am not really worried because my cousin who is a Wing-Tsun exponent, Shaolin master, Muay Thai expert and mixed martial arts practitioner has taught me and my younger boy various moves for self-defence. Each time he is in town (except for the recent CNY visit), he will revise those moves with us. Thus, I am familiar with various manoeuvres and how to zero in on the vital points of attack to defeat the perpetrator.

Whatever the case, here are some safety tips (largely from my own experience) that you might want to consider when you travel:

1.The luggage tag must never list your address.

2. Always keep your luggage with you until the luggage is checked. If you have to put your bag down, keep one foot/hand on the handle or strap.

3. Keep ALL important papers with you including photocopies of your passport, driver's license and credit cards.

4. Carry a small flashlight and body alarm. Yup - I really do that. Pepper sprays are dangerous for obvious reasons.

5. Medicines must be properly labelled.

6. Always carry a basic first aid kit with bandages, mosquito repellant, sunscreen, charcoal tabs, Immodium, allergy pills, gastric pills, panadol, allergy ointments etc.

7. Carry only one or two credit cards.

8. Never accept drinks from strangers. Never talk to strangers. Never give directions.

9. Do not do the same thing everyday if staying in the same place.

10. Remember to book hotels that use computerised cards to open room doors. Always make sure your room has a peephole and a deadbolt lock. Always secure the door chain. I normally put a chair against the bedroom door and my luggage on the chair for obvious reasons.

11. Never take a cab alone, especially unmarked cabs. When boarding a cab, note the number plate and pretend to call someone and tell them the number plate of the cab you have boarded.

12. Never carry a laptop bag or an expensive camera bag.

13. Get a local SIM card for calls and keep a spare phone for your usual number and make sure it has roaming services for people to call you and vice versa in case of emergencies.

14. If you are travelling with your kids, always have a photograph of the kid. Give them a piece of paper that has the name of the hotel and contact details in case they get lost. Better still, give them a mobile phone. That is what I do with my younger boy.

15. Never wear anything any jewellery or anything that makes you look wealthy. I always dress down and carry old, well-used luggage bags, backpacks and scruffy jeans.

16. Never discuss travel plans, your room number or any other personal information in public.

17. Do research of the place, download maps and make sure you also have umbrellas/jackets or raincoats with you.

18. Ensure the itinerary is well planned and you have enough spare change. Money should be kept in different places, preferably a neck wallet, body pouch (not waist-pouch). Laptops should be carefully locked inside the luggage bag when out of the room.

19. If you have to use a handbag instead of a backpack, use one that is roomy with a short handle that will discourage would-be snatch thieves.

20. Always wear comfortable walking shoes and use disposable underwear :-). Saves the need to do washing.

21. Remember your travel adaptor, phone/camera/laptop chargers!

Believe it or not, I travel very light!! I never check-in my luggage and my bag is usually only 7kg. After the holiday, it is about 11-12 kg because I am NOT a shopper but I do buy souvenirs for family members and friends. Apart from a cabin bag, I have a neat backpack that is big enough for my laptop and other important stuff. No handbags for me when travelling.

Whatever the case, do travel safely and make sure you have a good time. At my age, it is rare to take a long holiday because of family commitments. I do long for those years when I was teaching in an international school and enjoyed 13-14 weeks of vacation a year. Sheer bliss. Now, I am on vacation everyday. Unpaid vacation haha!

Take care and have a lovely evening!

Hisham a 'darling' in Merlimau

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 07:03 AM PST

For the first time ever, I followed Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein's a-day visit to Merlimau today. He was a 'darling' to almost everyone whom he met and shook hands with. The ministry's 'Meeting the Customers' Day' was ovewhelmed by about 2,000 Rela members and BN party workers for the by-election.

Chief Minister Ali Rustam was there together with Hisham's deputy Abu Seman, few state assemblymen and leaders of BN component parties.

I personally believe Hisham is getting better in the sense that he is more considerate and willing to listen to others, including those who serve him at the ministry. And thanks to him for extending the 'pay your police summons' until March 10.

His presence drew much attention, notably from the Merlimau people who met him eye-to-eye for the first time. He even visited a disabled policeman outside his fixed programmes at his house, spent about 20 minutes and help painted its wall.

I personally would like to see Hisham attending to the rakyat more often, consider advises given by his buddies at the ministry... and of course by bloggers and media. Also, more Umno and BN leaders should spend more time outside their busy daily routine to meet the people, including those not in their constituency.

What Hisham did in the day brought positive impact to the party and the voters. The Opposition did not try to disrupt the event like what happened in a few previous by-elections, especially Bukit Gantang, Manek Urai and Galas. In fact, some Opposition supporters were seen trying to come closer to the event center but were 'too shy' to enter.

Even in his speech, Hisham did not launch any strong attacks on the Opposition. Instead, he only said they (Pakatan Rakyat) was becoming weak, especially in Merlimau. I have to agree.

Generally, the Opposition in Merlimau are not going all out as they dont have much confidence in winning the seat on March 6 polling. The attention given by some Federal ministers is a sign that the government really cares for the well-being of the rakyat.

The feedback I got also does not favor the Opposition thus far. Their campaigns failed to attract audience as compared to the ones by BN. The general perception in Merlimau is that, Pas is contesting for the sake of participating in the by-election.

Ummi Hafilda Askar Upahan UMNO

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 06:45 AM PST

. . ia tak tumbangkan kerajaan (negeri).

"Saya jemput dia (Ummi Hafilda) ceramah banyak lagi, saya suka kalau dia mari banyak lagi . .

-TMI

-HD

China-Myanmar railways

A proposal is under construction for a 1920 km rail link between Kunming, the capital of China's Yunnan Province and Yangon, with plans to extend the line up to Tavoy where a major port development project of Thailand is coming up.

There are also plans to construct a railway line along the dual gas and oil pipeline (already under construction) linking Kyauk Phyu in the Arakan state and Kunming.

A rail link running through Shan state from Kunming to the Thai town of Chiang Rai is being planned. This link will be connected to the Thai rail network.

Media reports indicate that two more rail links between the Chinese town of Dali with Myitkyina and Lashio are being planned.

China has also agreed to upgrade Myanmar's rail stock.

Sending the homeless…

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 06:07 AM PST

During my clinic duty last week, 2 cases of homeless PLHIV were referred to me: Lee and Kasim Teoh.

Lee was initially warded at Ipoh Hospital but later transferred to Batu Gajah hospital because he was supposed to have been discharged but he didn't have a home to go back to. So they sent him to Batu Gajah instead. Kasim Teoh was still in Ipoh GH.

SN had already found 2 shelter homes for them including a Muslim home for Kasim, who became a Muslim about 5 years ago. However, since the 2 were supposed to be discharged, not transferred, use of hospital transportation was out of the question. So SN sought my help to arrange for transportation.

I managed to get someone to sponsor the transportation cost, even a taxi, but SN advised against letting them go on their own. I wouldn't mind sending them, but these are guys… I'd need a male volunteer to help out as well. I finally got one of our young male volunteer to agree to come along.

I was hoping to meet up with the person in charge of the Muslim home as I didn't know about the home until SN told me about it.

But just after I finalised plans with SN to send the 2 to KL on Thursday (today), SN called to inform me that Kasim had passed away the night before. So there was only Lee left to send. I sought SN's help to make the necessary arrangements regarding the referral letters from the ID specialist and the discharge letters from the district hospital.

So this morning I left home at 8 am, went to the Buddies Centre to fetch my colleague, then off to Ipoh GH ID clinic to get the referral letter from SN. Thank goodness I had a colleague with me so I didn't have to worry about parking the car. I waited in the car while my colleague went to get the letter, the phone number of the person in charge of the shelter home, and to get SN to call the district hospital to inform them that we were on our way.

From Ipoh GH, on to Batu Gajah Hospital. When we got to the ward, Lee was on his bed, still in hospital clothes. Duh! I thought SN had called them to inform them we were coming and to make sure he was ready?? Well, never mind, I thought, I just told him to get ready. He got up, tidied up the hospital clothes he was wearing and took out a small plastic bag from the drawer by his bedside.

"You tak tukar baju ka?" I asked.

"Baju tadak!" he replied.

Yikes, were we supposed to bring him with us in his hospital clothes?! Had I known earlier he didn't have any clothes, I would have brought along some of the used clothes we still have at our center. But I wasn't about to drive back all the way to Ipoh to get the clothes.

I then went to ask the nurse. She asked if we could arrange to return the hospital clothes to them later. Adoi… bila masa pulak nak hantar balik baju ni once we bring the guy to KL?

It was about 9.15 am then. Most of the shops in Batu Gajah were not opened yet. Thank goodness we managed to find one minimarket opened. So I passed some money to my colleague and got him to go down and buy 2 pairs of tee-shirts and trackbottoms. I wasn't about to let Lee out in town in his hospital clothes, people may think we kidnapped him from the hospital! My colleague didn't take too long. He got back into the car with a plastic bag of new tee-shirts and trackbottoms and passed me the receipt. On the receipt, printed in English was, "Goods sold are not returnable." Then came the translation in Malay, "Seluar dalam tidak boleh ditukar."  Errrrr…. helloo??? (we didn't buy any seluar dalam for Lee though…)

Anyway, since we were still in Batu Gajah town, we decided to go back to the hospital so Lee could change his clothes and we could return the hospital clothes immediately instead of having to come back later. The moment he came out of the toilet with his new clothes, his friends in the ward all teased him, "Waaaa… banyak handsome laaa!!" They had never seen him in anything other than hospital clothes before!!

That done, we continued our journey to Sg Buluh Hospital. It was about 10 am then. The shelter home is in Batu Arang, but SN made arrangements with the people at the shelter home to come pick Lee up at Sg Buluh Hospital to make it easier for us. It would be nearer for us. Besides, they do go to the hospital almost every day as they have other PLHIVs at their home needing to go for their appointments.

We reached Sg Buluh Hospital at about 11.45 am. The moment we got in the entrance, I told my colleague to call the person in charge of the shelter home. We were then told to wait near the cafeteria. So I dropped off Lee and my colleague in front of the cafeteria and went to look for parking. Lucky me I managed to find a parking space within just a few minutes.

I then went to join Lee and my colleague who were waiting near the cafeteria. No sight of anyone from the shelter home yet. We didn't know how this person looked like and he didn't know how we looked like either. So I called the person and he said he was in a white van in front of the guards near the cafeteria. I then turned around and saw a guy in a white van, talking on the phone. Oh yes, he was talking to me!

We immediately told Lee to get into the van, and I passed all the necessary documents to the guy from the shelter home. I also told him that Lee doesn't have any clothes except the ones he was wearing and the extra pair we had bought earlier today. The guy told me he'd take care of it.

So yes, job done - handed over the responsibility to the shelter home. I was hungry by then, and since we were already near the cafeteria, I figured we might as well have our lunch there, and then left immediately after lunch. Just made one more stop in Tapah for prayers and managed to reach Ipoh in time for me to attend a meeting at 3 pm…

Malacca Trip: Beautiful Cheng Hoon Teng Taoist Temple on Jalan Tokong

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 04:33 AM PST

No, the above picture is not the famous Cheng Hoon Teng temple in Malacca. It's just located on the same street as the temple. Cheng Hoon Teng temple is a famous Taoist temple in Malacca and also is the oldest Taoist temple in Malaysia, built in 1645 by authentic real China-man Kapitan Lee Wei King during the don't now what dynasty. So it's really a very very very very very old temple.

The temple is located on Jalan Tokong, which is the street next to the famous Jonker Walk and also right down Tang's House, the guesthouse I was staying. According to the history book, this temple was built with real China material imported from China long ago, only then preserved and repaired by local people.

It doesn't look old to me, probably because of preservation and repairing work, but then it is beautiful, just like Khoo Kongsi, Tua Pek Kong Temple in Penang. Although the compound is not super big but it has already shows it beautiness, the well-preservation work is good.

Good job for the people who do the preservation and repairing work. Another thing is, the place is very clean. Not dusty.

Spent some time taking photos and did some light praying, then off we go. It was sunset time and there's still people coming in. It's open until night time.

That's the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple.

A short while at Kampung Ketek.

While walking back to Jonker Walk to begin our night market shopping, eating tour, we found Kampung Ketek and kinda curious with the Malay's leg house and we went to check it out.

Nothing much, it's just a small place with a few Malay's style houses with leg. Surprisingly, this little kampung is clean too. Wow.

Next up will be our night market tour at the famous Jonker Walk. =)

Rakyat Perlu Tolak Pemimpin Cuai - Presiden PKR

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 05:15 AM PST

UMMI HAFILDA TURNED ‘POLITICIAN’

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 04:18 AM PST

Ummi Hafilda, the sister of PKR's Deputy President Azmin Ali has joined the campaign bashing trail of Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali at Merlimau. Did she come on the campaign trail on her own accord, or was she invited to campaign for a certain political party, is anyone's guess. But by the tone of her campaign, it is obvious that she is out to discredit and demolish the opposition and in particular Anwar Ibrahim and his brother Azmin Ali.

What was the reason for dragging her into this campaign? What is it in the mind of Ummi to even discredit her own sibling? Is she insane or what? If she has been dragged into the campaign trail by a certain political party, why use the uncultured method of bad mouthing people? Is this the behaviour that we want to show our children that the Malays have nothing better to do, other than to bad mouth others? Does Ummi not know that what she is doing is not only unethical but a grievous sin?

I just like to ask Ummi this question? Is she a Malay that profess the Muslim faith or is she some alien creature from outer space that is neither a Malay nor profess any religious faith at all? Has she no shame to go on bad mouthing others including her own family member, and worse still in front of a multi racial crowd? For Ummi to do all this is definitely the work of a devil, or is she a devil herself? I say this because no person in the right frame of mind and worse still a lady would want to do such a shameful act. I now understand the reason why her late father had denounced her, and this issue is well known in public domain. And to be denounced by her parents is indeed a grievous sin. Now, she appears to have denounced her own sibling.

Now let's get to the bottom of this horrible and senseless campaigning that has gotten from bad to worse. If this is how politicians are to show to the world the way campaigning is done in this country, then I say that I have nothing to be proud of being a Malaysian. This senseless campaigning is nothing more than to win votes and winning an election has little regards for tact, respect and honour for others. As Ummi has demonstrated, one does not need to be intelligent, tactful and honourable. She thinks, speaking rubbish and acting like a fool is enough to appeal to the voters, and for those that had brought in fools to campaign on their behalf; they are the bigger fools.

My advice to Ummi is to repent and to act like a respectable and honourable lady. Seek forgiveness from those whom you may have hurt, and to reconcile with those who may have hurt you. There is nothing more honourable than to seek and offer forgiveness. Hell awaits you if you persist.

CRUSADE AGAINST CORRUPTION

[Bergambar] Rakyat Libya Raikan Kemenangan Kalahkan Tentera

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 03:00 AM PST

- AFP

Rich or Poor?

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 01:35 AM PST

According to this article HERE, Forbes says that Malaysia's rich is getting richer. It said:

Tan Sri Robert Kuok and Ananda Krishnan remained top of Malaysia's rich list last year, according to Forbes magazine, which also reported that Malaysia's top 40 richest individuals increased their fortunes by 18 per cent to US$62.1 billion (RM186.3 billion) largely due to the surge in global commodity prices.

"The rich get richer and the poor get poorer" is an old proverb frequently used when discussing economic inequality. Of course in Malaysia, we cannot deny that the living standards of the hard-core poor have improved considerably. However, the past three years have been particularly difficult for many not just in the working class, but also for middle class Malaysians.

Could it be that people are struggling because some who have the money and the means to make a difference are not really doing enough to make things better for the rest of us even though it is their duty and responsibility to do so?

Prices of many products and services have increased. Our bowl of noodles cost more but we are getting smaller portions with less condiments. It almost seems that the profit-maximization motive is in their minds so we witness increasing prices on many products/service to reap a profit off their consumers and pass on the rising costs to the helpless consumer.

Economically speaking, the rich are better off because they have the means to acquire capital to let their money make money for them without needing to work. In other words, they are earning passively when their capital investments provide them with capital gains or passive income.

Karl Marx talked about this in his discourse on class struggles where he explained that the bourgeoisie (the rich) had the means of production and of exchange but the proletariat (the poor) had to sell their manpower/labor to survive. Even hundreds of years later, we see this happening. (*I am not a Marxist but I do agree with this part of his writings.)

In reality, the rich would naturally be concerned about "capital gains" and "passive income". The whole concept of "earned income" is probably foreign to them unless their wealth was a rags to riches experience. With the money they have acquired, they would be constantly creating and building assets that would allow them to reap more passive income from their investments. They do not really experience in intrinsic value of work and earnings because theirs is a different process altogether.

On the other hand, the main source of income for the rest of us is "earned income" which may not be increased in tandem with inflation rate. In other words, our real income falls as our purchasing power is reduced over time with rising expenses. A trip to the wet market/supermarket may mean less grocery items with the same budget and this can be exacerbated if there is a birth or death, medical bills need to be paid, rising prices of food items, petrol prices that keep going up and up, never to come down. In the same scenario, our earned income remains either unchanged or minimally increased by some sympathetic bosses. In that way, the poor get poorer.

The truth is, some barely earn enough to cover their expenses. The rich on the other hand make well more than enough in passive income to cover their expenses.

Some may ask what has the government been doing about the disparity? To a certain extent, we can say that government intervention under the New Economic Policy has been successful in spurring economic growth and development of the country in some areas and also the development of the Malay ethnic group. However, is it all hunky dory as some prefer us to believe?

If you have time, please check out this set of slides on Income Distribution in Malaysia: Old Issues, New Approaches by Ragayah Haji Mat Zin of Institute of M'sian & International Studies
@ Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia which you can access AT THIS LINK.

There is a very interesting section in her paper on Explaining Inequality after NEP. Consider the following excerpt taken from THIS LINK:

• State-government-party collusion (corruption, cronyism and nepotism)–ownership and control of the economy by political parties, & parties linked to noted business tycoons or 'cronies', many of whom are engaged in rent-seeking enterprises…the common thread is that the leaders of ruling parties have been able to use their political clout and influence to earn enormous rents for themselves or their political cronies and families.

• This phenomenon transcends ethnicity and enabled a selected section of the Malaysian society to accumulate income and wealth very rapidly, thus accentuating inequality
The writers proposed a Shift in Approach to Narrow Inequality including:

• Should focus more on reducing inequality within both urban & rural areas as well as within each state, although economic development in the laggard states have to be geared up in order to reduce the regional gaps.

• Shift the focus of reducing inter-ethnic inequality to intra-ethnic inequality, and to re-conceptualise the strategies of attaining ethnic income parity such that they do not worsen
within group inequality among the the various ethnic groups.

• Move from race-based policies to national policies, which are inclusive of all ethnic groups. The urban poor and low income groups should be seen as socio-economic groups rather than groups aggregated based on ethnic origins.

• Education is the sharpest tool for poverty eradication and moderating income inequality. Thus, need more access to quality education for the poor. Assistance should favour the disadvantaged. Better-off parents take the responsibility of educating their children, if not fully, at least part of the costs.

• A mechanism must be developed to ensure that beneficiaries, esp. those getting the privatization projects or benefiting from any other direct redistributive policies, to give back to society.

• Projects need to be allocated based not on political connections, the "influential and powerful", but according to genuine ability criteria. E.g. through the community or bottom-up approach. Transparency and proper governance should always be part of the guidelines in the allocation.

•The issue of foreign labor must be resolved. Although the Government is encouraging greater automation and mechanization of labour-intensive industries in order to reduce the dependence on foreign workers, these measures must seriously be implemented.

• The demand for minimum wage or higher wages to be paid to the local workers needs serious consideration.

• Since most of the taxes have become less progressive, a study should be carried out to explore the viability of introducing 'leveling taxes', such as hereditary or wealth taxes.

Interestingly, the writer of that paper said "The neglect of ensuring equitable distribution of the economic pie was said to lead to the 13 May 1969 racial riot as well as probably one of the causes of the National Front loss on 8 March 2008."

When the government is ready and able to solve problems related to the disparity in income on a needs-base rather than on ethnic lines, perhaps then such news is worthy of headlines and reason for all to rejoice.

The government and the media should be more concerned with how to reduce poverty, enhance standards in education, create jobs, stimulate and spur growth and development in our economy in such a way that it generates wealth for the benefit of EVERYONE. Then only can we hope to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.

Until that happens, such news about very rich people is nothing to scream about. It only reminds us of what should have been and what can be if people had voted wisely.

As such, please cast your vote wisely at the next GE.

Alasan Palsu SPR Mengenai Pertambahan Undi Pos Yang Naik Mendadak

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 12:25 AM PST

Undi pos: SPR percaya naik kerana kesedaran, Bersih 2.0 mahu semakan

Ini zaman teknologi IT dimana maklumat dihujung jari.

Qaddafy, Musailamah Pembohong Zaman Ini...

Posted: 03 Mar 2011 12:01 AM PST

3.Tentang Melontar Jumrah

"Kalian semua melontar jamarat ?

4.Tentang Hijab

"Hawa telanjang bulat tanpa sehelai benang. Siapa yang lebih tahu dibandingkan Allah? Allah menciptakan kita sejak awal seperti itu. Inilah fithrah kita.

9.Tentang Pengakuannya Sebagai Nabi

("Qaddafi : Messenger of Dessert" tulisan Mirella Bianco halaman 241)
