-batuvskayu

Video Seks: Majlis Perunding Bukan Islam Mahu Datuk T Dikenakan Tindakan Tegas

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 08:18 AM PDT

Majlis Perundingan Malaysia Agama Buddha, Kristian, Hindu, Sikh dan Tao menggesa kerajaan mengambil tindakan tegas ke atas mereka yang bertanggungjawab terhadap pendedahan rakaman video seks minggu lalu, yang didakwa melibatkan Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar telah pun menafikan dakwaan itu.

Presidennya Rev.

-TMI

Video Sex Case: Thanks to A-G Gani Patail Rahim Thamby Chik may escape prosecution

by Clara Chooi @www.themalaysianinsider.com

A former senior police investigating officer said today that he did not expect Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik to be prosecuted over the sex video scandal because of the ultimate involvement of Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail as Attorney-General.

Former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim also accused Abdul Gani of hijacking an investigation against Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in 1999 in order to conceal his role in "indemnifying" the former Malacca chief minister from being prosecuted for corruption.

The investigation, he explained, had been wrested from him and given instead to former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan, who was then an investigating officer.

Mat Zain added that the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) had already issued a recommendation for Abdul Rahim to be prosecuted for four counts of corruption — three under the Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance and one for making a false Statutory Declaration, punishable under Section 193 of the Penal Code.

But according to a complaint by Anwar, then prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, then Attorney-General Tan Sri Mokhtar Abdullah and Abdul Gani, who was then a senior deputy public prosecutor, had "indemnified" Abdul Rahim from prosecution in exchange for his resignation from all government and political posts.

Mat Zaid wrote in an open letter to Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar today that he expected the police to handle the ongoing investigations on the sex video case in a professional manner, but expressed concern that Abdul Gani's participation would eventually see Abdul Rahim walking away a free man again.

"I am fully confident that the police are able to carry out their responsibilities in a professional and impartial manner and will not be influenced by outside pressures. However, this investigation will later be handled by Abdul Gani as the Attorney-General. It is at this stage where it is expected that manipulation, fraud and forgery will occur, particularly when one is aware of how Abdul Gani and Musa Hassan handled the other cases involving Anwar and Abdul Rahim," he told the IGP in his letter.

Mat Zain said the matter had first reached his hands when Anwar had sent him a copy of the ACA report against Abdul Rahim along with a police report on August 20, 1999. The report, he explained, was classified as "official secrets" and explained that the agency had compiled enough evidence to prove a "prima facie" case against Abdul Rahim.

"The ACA report was validated by the prosecution division of the Attorney-General's Chambers and signed by Abdul Gani who classified the document as 'secret'.

"The documents were said to have been given to Anwar by the Attorney-General and/or Abdul Gani while Anwar was still the deputy prime minister," he said.

Mat Zain explained that the AG's Chambers had wanted to classify the case under the Official Secrets Act 1972 while the police had suggested that the case be investigated under Section 2(1) of the Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance on abuse of powers.

He added that an investigation against Abdul Rahim under the Emergency Ordinance would involve the recording of statements from Dr Mahathir, the late Mokhtar, Gani and other prominent leaders.

"But on August 28, I received a letter from the A-G's Chambers addressed personally to me, specifically stating that the report Anwar lodged against Abdul Rahim would be investigated by Musa as Abdul Gani had supposedly lodged a report against Anwar for committing an offence under the Official Secrets Act," said Mat Zain, referring to Anwar's exposure of the ACA report.

"To be clearer, I can say that the report involving Abdul Rahim was hijacked by Musa Hassan from the hands of the CID," he added. Mat Zain, however, stressed that he had never seen the report purportedly lodged by Abdul Gani.

"And never before has the AG's Chambers ever chosen its own investigating officer to investigate a police report," he said.

Mat Zain also attached a copy of the A-G's Chamber's notice to him in his letter to Ismail. "The comparison that can be drawn from here is that when it comes to handling an investigation against Anwar, Abdul Gani and Musa are willing to do whatever it takes, including forcing a government servant to prepare false reports, fabricate DNA evidence, cheat and do anything that is against the law and against all logic in order to convict Anwar," he charged.

Mat Zain, who was the investigating officer in the infamous 1998 "black-eye" case involving Anwar, has repeatedly accused Abdul Gani of being corrupt and having committed numerous offences to protect his position.

Among others, he has claimed that Abdul Gani had falsified evidence in the probe against Anwar for his first sodomy trial, including the DNA evidence.

"Now, although Musa has retired, but Abdul Gani is still the A-G. So when this sex video investigation reaches him, it can be expect what his stand will be, especially since this video is yet another clash between Abdul Rahim and Anwar," he said.

Mat Zain stressed that he had no personal vendetta against Abdul Rahim but was concerned that the sex video case would see the former chief minister getting off scot-free, despite his admission to his involvement in the caper.

Abdul Rahim, along with businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay, had last week admitted to being behind the sex video allegedly featuring Anwar having sex with a foreign prostitute.Anwar has since denied being the man in the tape and has gone on a nationwide campaign to convince voters of his innocence.

Interfaith council: Christians now, who next? 1Malaysia is not for the minority!

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 08:30 AM PDT

Despite the government softening its stand on the Al-Kitab, the controversy continues to stir debate, this time by the Malaysian Consultative Council for Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikism and Taoism (MCCBCHST).

azlanIn a statement today signed by five MCCBCHST leaders, the council takes issue with the alleged promise by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak made during a Christmas party in December 2009 to release 5,000 copies of the Al-Kitab impounded at Port Klang.

The Christian Federation of Malaysia, an umbrella body which represents 90 percent of churches in the country, claims that Najib could only express surprise that the copies of the Al-Kitab are still being held by the authorities when he was informed last Christmas that they were not released.

The statement reads, "This situation begs a first pair of questions: Does our current prime minister wield any authority? And if he does not, who does?"

Permulaan Kearah Perhimpunan BERSIH 2.0

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 06:49 AM PDT

Kesemua mereka menang selepas bertanding satu lawan satu.
Masa mula-mula gua cuba nak gerakkan idea himpunan BERSIH 2.0 ni gua tak terfikir pun nak cuba bersepakat dengan mana-mana parti politik sebab gua fikir gua nak gerakkan Perhimpunan ni atas nama "Rakyat".

Jadi korang fikirlah sendiri.

Sama-sama kita berpadu menggerakkan Perhimpunan BERSIH 2.0.

Allahu Akbar...!!!

Life as a Bachang?

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 08:08 AM PDT

As some of you know, I am trying my very best to keep fit, regain my long lost figure and to bring my BMI to a healthy level.

In the past month, I have been cycling, doing resistance training, brisk walking, attending Chi Kung and boot camp classes and for the past three weeks, a Malay lady has been coming to my house twice a week to give me personalized urut therapy, supposedly, to break down the adipose tissues. :-)

This morning, besides the usual massage, Kak also urut my arms and back as my old injuries resurfaced. After 1.5 hours, she finished and then proceeded to wrap me in this contraption that I bought from her two years ago. I could not find it last week but this time, I had prepared it. After her massage, she asked me to lie on that piece of cloth and proceeded to wrap it tightly around my body.

Believe me - I felt like a mummy. Slowly but surely, she pulled the ends of the rope and I was gasping for breath. By the time she finished, I could barely breathe. Then she asked me to lie in a prone position. Of course, I wondered what was going to happen.

To my surprise, she asked me to kneel and then to slowly get up. What an arduous task that was! She instructed me to do some hula-hula moves to loosen the tight fit. I did not know whether to moan in pain or laugh at the hilarious situation.

I looked at myself in the mirror and liked what I saw :-). I never looked thinner haha!

By the time I could stand, I realized I could not walk. Quite hilariously, I tried to make my way down the stairs as she had to leave for her next appointment.

Shortly after that, I tried (note I TRIED) to hang the clothes. A most challenging task indeed cos I could not bend down to pick up the laundry but somehow, I did it :-).

After I finished, I headed to my table and tried to sit down. Subsequently, breathing was a real problem. Anyway, I managed to find a comfortable position and proceeded to surf the net. The more I read, the more I forgot about my situation until a friend buzzed me to ask me something about the death penalty. When she discovered I was in that contraption, she remarked that I should write something from the perspective of a 'bachang' (a kind of rice dumpling).

And that was exactly how I felt - like a bachang.

Suffice to say, after all the trouble I have been going through to lose weight, shed inches, keep fit and stay healthy, I am also very wary of what I eat.

Last Friday, my husband's friend delivered the Ogawa EZ Shape to my home. He hoped that I would be luckier than his wife and daughter when using it. So far, I have used it twice and it seems to be quite effective although exhausting. Anyway, apart from blogging, reading, I spend the greater part of the day trying to burn calories by doing various exercises and I have to admit that working out has made me more alert and I feel greaaaat!

Take care, stay healthy and keep fit! Have a lovely evening!

Video Seks: Majlis Perunding Bukan Islam Mahu Datuk T Dikenakan Tindakan Tegas

PALM PLANTATION PATRONAGE – HOW TAIB PAYS OFF POLITICAL PALS!

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 07:05 AM PDT

Taib's power-base

Many have questioned in our comments why Taib's political colleagues allow his corruption to continue?
Our researches through the land registry are starting to provide the answer.  Most of his political cronies, who occupy the top ministerial jobs, have themselves been major benefactors of the Chief Minister's largess over state lands.
In recent years they have started to try and cover up their names, but we have gained access to some of the older records as well!  It is plain that for many BN YBs the end of Taib would mean the end of their cushy plantation titles, so they are hanging on to the old 'rainmaker' with all their might!

Naroden Majais
Simunjan Assemblyman, Assistant Minister in the C M's Department and now a vast plantation-owner! Naroden Majais
Take for example Naroden Majais.  He has repaid the trust of his constituents in Simunjan by taking a staggering amount of their land!  We identified no less than 19 land titles handed out to him via the companies Hydroflow and Indranika Jaya in the Simunjan area during the period 2003 – 2007.
Naroden has also bagged a massive 5,000 hectare plot in Baram region, according to the records.
These handouts alone amount to a total of 15,500 hectares which were given out for a premium of RM5.7 million.  But, in case Naroden could not afford to pay or sell these on in time he was given a nice discount of RM500 per hectare on much of the land, says the records, and he was also given between 5 and10 years to pay it!
Cover up!
Sarawak Report has also detected some rather half-hearted attempts by Naroden to cover up his control of these land titles, which provoked some criticism amongst bloggers in 2008.  If you look at the current land records (which we have made publicly available on our site) you will see that Hydroflow and Indranika are currently registered under the name of Kong Goon Siong, based at Lot 298, Tingat 1, Lorong 9, Jalan Rubber, Kuching.
Details from the current land records.
However, if you go back to the 2007 land registry the connection with Mr Majais becomes rather plainer.  You will note that it was then his name in the land records, next to exactly the same address as the one now used by Mr Kong Goon Siong!
Clear as daylight! Naroden Majais's names were originally listed with the properties. Now it is someone in his office!
What's more, in the current 2010 land records, Naroden is still openly listed as the recipient of the land title for the 5,000 hectares in Baram under the company Harta Mastira Sdn Bhd!
Still featuring as the recipient of the land title for Harta Mastira Sdn Bhd in Baram.
Bearing in mind that Taib's brotherOnn Mahmud is currently advertisingpalm plantation land for RM 30,000 per acre the value of these 15,500 hectares of plantation land can be assessed at comfortably over billion ringgit!
What the local people got
Naroden Majais's house - Where did the money come from?
The issue of Native Customary Land Rights in the area was clearly 'negotiated' by Mr Naroden to the extent that the local landowners were enmeshed into a 'profit-sharing' deal, whereby they became shareholders in two companies that were handed 30% of Indranika Jaya and Hydroflow.
At the end of last year, with great fanfare in a ceremony held at the grand residence of the Chief Minister himself, these local people were handed their dividend from the first year of profits.  The Sarawak Tribune (which is controlled and edited by Hanifah, the Chief Minister's daughter) described how 23,579 metric tons of palm oil had been produced and that as a result a handsome cheque for RM 575,400 was presented to the local landowners
Since there are 2,877 of these shareholders, each of the local landowners had to make do with a meagre RM200 for the year!  So, what happened to all the profit from the wood that was cut down and what happened to the profit from the sale of the land?  Could any of that money have ended up with Mr Naroden Majais, whose house alone implies a certain level of prosperity that one would not expect from the modest salary of a State Assemblyman?
WFM Plantations
Our researches indicated that yes, that is exactly where the money has ended up.  While the local people got 30% of the shares (but no control of the company), 60% of the shares went to a private company called WFM Plantations, which is in turn largely owned by WFM Enterprise Sdn Bhd.  WFM operates out of the same set of offices as the NCR shareholder companies, which are called Punggor Wibara Sdn Bhd and Saddor Wibara Sdn Bhd.
The main shareholder of WFM Enterprise turns out to be a familiar name, one Kong Goon Siong along with a clear relative, Kong Goon Khiing!  The same couple also direct the sister company WFM Plantations.  Kong Goon Siong is of course the trusty employee working out of Naroden Majais's office, who kindly took over as the contact in the land registry after all the fuss in 2007!  Kong Goon Siong shares the same address as Mr Naroden Majais (see land record excerpts above).

No great surprise - Kong Goon Siong and relative control and own WFM Enterprise (see above)!
So either Mr Majais has kindly handed millions of ringgit worth of palm plantation to his employee Mr Kong Goon Siong and his family or he is using them as his agent in a rather ludicrous attempt do disguise his ownership of 60% of the shares in these Simunjan plantations and his control of the entire company.  Nice Mr Majais to give the real owners of the land, the dwellers of Simunjan, RM 200 ringgit for the loss of their forests and livelihoods!
Naroden has more
Sarawak Report concludes that Mr Majais will remain a very strong supporter of of Taib Mahmud and his BN government.  Indeed we wonder if with so much land he isn't in fact acting as a trusty proxy for Taib Mahmud himself?  Surely, such a man as this could have been bought and paid for with far less land than the huge plantations that have been generously handed to him for a mere RM5.7 million to be paid for sometime over the next ten years?
That suspicion grows with a further perusal of the land records, which reveal even more lands that have been handed out in recent years to this Minister, who is known to be a particularly close confidant of Taib.  Again, one has to look back to the land records of 2007, which are copied below.
More of the land that has gone to Naroden Majais!
This land in Gedong adds up to another huge plantation of 12,000 hectares, again with a potential worth of around a billion ringgit, according to the sum being asked by Taib Mahmud's brother Onn for his own plantation.  Yet YB Majais's boss only asked him to pay around RM6 million ringgit to the state of Sarawak!
If BN make such clumsy thieves, we wonder how good they are at running the country?!

RM21 MILLION CASH – NEW LAND GRAB PROFIT FOR TAIB BROTHER!

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 07:02 AM PDT

Poor Ibrahim? He seems wealthy enough!

With just days to go before the election the Mahmud family are still coining in money from land handed to them by the Chief Minister.
On February 18th, the Malaysia Stock Exchange announced a RM 21 million purchase of 80% of a company that was been given a stake in a 5,000 hectare plantation in the Baram region by Taib Mahmud.  Our researches have shown that the lion's share of that cash payment went to his own brother Ibrahim Mahmud!
Poor Ibrahim?
Ibrahim has often been referred to as Taib's poorest brother, because he did an ordinary job and went into the police force.Insiders have often felt sorry for him because he did not do as well as the others who have lived off timber and oil palm plantations handed to them by the Cheif Minister.

Ibrahim Mahmud's house - not so small !
However, we have already established that Ibrahim has done pretty nicely out of the MasretusPlantation, which was state land handed to him by his brother and now he is doing even better!  For all we know there have been many more such hand-outs to poor Ibrahim – after all his house is not what you would normally expect for a retired policeman!
Gesture for charity, but most stays in the family!
The area concerned  is 5,000 hectares handed out to the so-called Amgreen Plantation in Baram, an area being threatened with total destruction from logging, oil palm and now dams, thanks to Taib's policies.  Amgreen used to be called Yayasan Sarawak plantation, according to the records, in recognition of the fact that it is partly owned by the Sarawak Foundation, which is responsible for raising money to pay for educational scholarships (spokesman Adenan Satem is Taib's brother in law) and partly by a Malay cultural foundation.
However, the largest shareholder of Amgreen is not either of the foundations, but a private company called Victoria Square Plantation Sdn Bhd, which has 65% of the shares.  Adenan Satem clearly did not think it appropriate to question that the majority shareholder of Victoria Plantation is Ibrahim Mahmud, who is clearly marked as the contact in the 2007 Land Registry documents for a sister company, Victoria Square Development.
Note that the same address and same phone numbers apply to Amgreen and to Victoria Square Development, owned by Ibrahim Mahmud!
A matter of addresses
It is plain to see that the Amgreen land deal, supposedly for the benefit of the two foundations, was organised and managed out of Ibrahim Mahmud's office.  Just look at the identical office addresses and phone numbers!
Now, a couple of years on, Ibrahim has clearly decided to cash in. The sale, which took place on February 18th, was previewed and announced on theMalaysian stock exchange.  The announcements explained that 80% of the shares in Victoria Square Plantations were being sold and these documents lay out the details of the whole deal, showing who owns what.  It is therefore quite easy to see just how much money Ibrahim has made and it is an awful lot!
The public documents show that on February 18th a public company, Fima Bhd, purchased 126,000 Victoria Square Plantation shares (80%) from a company called Network Jaya Sdn Bhd.  Network Jaya Sdn Bhd is the ultimate owner of Victoria Square Plantations.  And just look - a company search on Network Jayacomes up with a by now familiar address!(below).
Network Jaya, based at Ibrahim's office again! It owned 100% of Victoria Square Plantation until it sold 80% of the shares for RM21 million last month.
So, little surprise to see that Ibrahim is also the majority shareholder of Network Jaya.  Victoria Plantations is described in the  Fima shareholders' prospectus a 'dormant' company.  Its main asset (the reason why Fima Bhd was paying so much money for that 80% stake) is, of course, that 65% share of the Amgreen plantation – those 5,000 hectares handed to the 'joint venture' between the Sarawak Foundation, the Malay cultural foundation and Ibrahim's company back in 2007, by his brother Taib Mahmud.
Ibrahim has over half the shares, but it is more likely that it was the other businessmen who stumped up the money for the venture. The Mahmud family use their connections to get land and they use their business partners to pay whatever down-payments are necessary
The buy out, which as we know happened just a month ago, netted Network Jaya RM21 million and because they had only sold off 80% of the shares Ibrahim and his partners have retained a stake in the plantation over and above the huge profit they have already made.
As Ibrahim owns just over half the shares in Network Jaya he will have personally pocketed just over RM 11 million from the deal.   Presumably also, there were trees to cut down, which in itself will have generated a huge added income from this deal that is not included in this profit for passing on the plantation rights.  Not bad when they clearly have yet to pick up a spade.  Did Ibrahim ever even visit the area?
The Malaysian Stock Exchange announcement with all the details.
So what was the actual profit?
This sum contrasts strikingly with the premium that was received by the State of Sarawak for this valuable land as registered in the land records in August 2009 (see above).
RM3.7 million was charged in total for the 5,000 hectares. Ibrahim's company obtained a 65% stake.  Therefore we calculate a payment of a little over RM 2.5 million.  That makes a comfortable RM 18 million profit for Ibrahim and his partners for their side of the deal – and they have still retained a 20% stake in the company!
Proper transparency in government would have allowed the full details of this deal to be scrutinised by the public and opposition leaders, which would have forced Taib Mahmud to attempt to justify why he had handed such a valuable piece of land so cheaply to his own brother.
However, now we know why he resists transparency and prefers to 'negotiate' behind closed doors!
Few will believe that Ibrahim himself will have put up any of the money to finance the deal in the first place, because it has become an accepted practice that the Mahmuds let their business partners put up the cash, while they take the lion's share of the profits.  Sarawak has become so corrupted that no one can do business without allowing for a huge cut to go to Taib and his family.  So family members regard it as their job to provide only the opportunity to do business, through their access to the Chief Minister,  not to share in the financial risk.  What hard work that must be!
Not sooo poor!
Taib should not worry so much about providing further land grants to Ibrahim.  Our researches have shown he has plenty to invest in business too.  Company documents show that just before Frontken Corporation Bhd went public in 2006, Ibrahim Mahmud was able to buy up 34% of its shares, 125,125,000 altogether.  The company's Annual Report of 2007 says that the issue of 118,750,000 new shares raised RM31.4 million for the group.  Another fat profit for Ibrahim!  At the height of the market FCB's shares were worth around half a ringgit each, roughly making Ibrahim's shares alone worth over RM 60 million,
Frontken Corporation Bhd shareholdings before and after the stockmarket flotation. Non-executive Director Ibrahim Mahmud made a financial killing!
Ibrahim has enough for his old age.

TAIB STEALS HIS ELECTRICITY

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 06:58 AM PDT

Taib's residence in Demak Jaya - his sister
and son Abu Bekir have houses next door

At a time when people are struggling to cope with the rising electricity costs, Sarawak Report has established that the Chief Minister thieves electricity to keep down his own bills !
This astonishing information came to us from senior insiders, who are in a good position to know what is happening in Taib's household.  We have subsequently obtained corroborative evidence from the chief technician in charge of maintenance at his grand residence at Demak Jaya.
What we have learnt is that the Chief Minister has deliberately installed a secret, subterranian electricity cable, which by-passes the meter outside his house.  The cable links the mains directly to the line entering the house.  This means that while some of the supply still travels through the meter at least half of it does not, thereby slashing Taib's electricity bill!

How mean is greed?

Huge residence, means huge electricity bills!
Given the legendary wealth of Taib Mahmud, the idea that he should go to these lengths to avoid such a relatively small outlay as the monthly electricity bill seems staggering.
But, as Taib has pointed out himself, he is not used to paying out money or even bothering to have it on his person.  All his family deals are funded by others in return for his political patronage.  Since the Taibs expect to take, not give, it must make regular bills like the rest of us pay seem something of an outrageous imposition!
However, we should bear in mind that Taib has already compensated for the annoyance of having to pay for electricity.  There was plenty of comment some years back when the State Parliament voted through a handsome annual allowance to assist in the Chief Minister's electricity bills, presumably on the understanding that he has to do so much entertaining in his huge house.
By contrast, Sarawak Report is mindful of the many people throughout Sarawak who suffer from the harsh policy of the State-owned Sesco electricity monopoly, which is to ruthlessly cut off those people who cannot afford to pay the escalating costs being charged.
Far from free electricty! The poor communities of Sungai Asap often face electricity cuts
The policy is particularly galling for those displaced families who were moved into 'resettlement' areas to make way for hydro-electric dams.  Part of the incentive that people from both Batang Ai and Bakun dam areas were given to move was that they would get free electricity as part of their compensation.  However, both communities are now being asked to pay the full price for their electricity and many are regularly cut off by Sesco, because they can't afford it.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sesco, coincidentally, just happens to be Taib's own superbly wealthy cousin, Hamid Sepawi.  The son of the Deputy Chief Minister, Alfred Jabu, is also on the Board.  Sepawi and the Jabus have been given so many jobs and concessions by the Chief Minister that there is certainly no need  for them to worry about such basic bills.  And, while he is stern to his poorest customers, Sepawi is clearly lenient to his wealthy relative, since the fraud that his cousin indulges in is fairly easy to detect !
What the technical manager confirmed
Too grand to pay his full electricity bill?
In order to confirm the almost unbelievable information we had received about such petty pilfering, we thought we should seek corroboration from the man who was reportedly in charge of installing the by-pass system.
This was the head technician in charge of Taib's estate at Demak Jaya, Jong Ka Chin.  We were told that Jong had also helped out Taib's sister next door, Raziah Mahmud, who had heard about the device and wanted one too!  Raziah is also fabulously rich, but clearly does not see why she should pay the same bills as everyone else.
So we decided that it was time to request if he could do a similar favour for Taib's older son Abu Bekir.  After all Abu Bekir has just settled his wife's divorce claim of RM 400 million, so he must be looking for ways to save some money!  We called the technical head, Jong Ka Chin, on his personal mobile in the guise of Abu Bekir's secretary to ask him to come and discuss the matter with the Datuk:
"I am calling from the office of Abu Bekir ..it is about the electricity bypass that he wants to instal for his house tomorrow …
Yes, yes …
You can do it right?
Yes, yes … I know
You know what it is right?
At Demak Jaya …[location of Chief Minister's house]
Ah … can you come to the office at Titanium Management tomorrow?
What time? What time?
10:30am … you know where it is right?
10:30am yeah, Datuk wants to see me?
Yes, yes, Datuk Seri wants to see you …It's about the electricity cable bypass system … to be installed in his house …
The house at Demak?
Datuk Seri wants to instal the electricity bypass cable system in his house. The same one done in Pehin Sri's house.
I am at the house here, now …
Which house?
Demak, Demak….Tomorrow I go to the office or to Demak?
Go to his office first; meet with Datuk Sri first at his office at Titanium Management.
Ah  …ok
He wants you to advise him on the electricity cable bypass system … you know what it is right?
Yes
The same one that was done at the house of Pehin Sri …
Yes, the same.
The same as the one you had done before?
Yes … so tomorrow I go to the office to see you …
Ah  … go to the Titanium Management office to meet Datuk Seri ..ok, thank you. God night.
Yes, yes, good night.
From this call it was clear that Mr Jong was actually working on site at Demark Jaya at the time we were calling and he acknowledged several times that he had fitted an electricity by-pass system for the Pehin Sri's (Taib's) house.
When we put the story past a senior Sesco operative about the scam.  His observation was "so you know about that do you?!"  Sesco has recently been criticised for hiring a swathe of highly-paid foreign managers.  The new Norwegian Chief Executive Officer, Torstein Dale Sjotveit, is paid RM 4 million per annum and receives 10 return air tickets home on top each year.  Under him are 20 other foreign engineers, who are also paid way over the normal Sarawak salary levels.
One of those for me too please! - Taib's sister Raziah Mahmud put one next door as well.
YB Chong from Kuching DAP recently also complained to parliament about the huge charges being demanded from customes for the installing of obligatory new meters.
Customers are being asked to pay RM 650 for the fixing of the so-called up-dated meters and people who can't pay the extra on their bills are being cut off!
However, the even more damning complaint against Sesco by the majority of the people of Sarawak is that in Malaysia's richest state 80% of the people of the interior have yet to be connected to any form of electricity at all!
On behalf of Mr Jong, Sarawak Report confirms that when we rang back to gain further details of his work on the by-pass he told us that he had since spoken to Abu Bekir's office and ascertained that Taib's son is not in actually in Kuching or wanting work done.  He then also denied that he had installed a by-pass after all.   Perhaps Taib Mahmud would like to clarify the situation and confirm or deny the very well-sourced information that we have received?
Cyber-war casualty
As an addendum to this article we wish to express our concern over the sacking yesterday of a well-regarded staff member at the Borneo Post.  The firing was carried out in accordance with a directive that had come straight from the officer of the Chief Minister  The reason, we have learnt, was that the staff member, who is a proof-reader, had made an understandable error that was seen to have undermined the Chief Minister's belated attempts to get ahead in what BN are describing as the 'Cyber-war'.
The Borneo Post had devised an article designed to promote one of the Chief Minister's dozens of new sponsored websites.  Its name is almost identical to the name of this website, Sarawak Report, however it contains an extra letter!  The poor proof reader read the copy and assumed that a mistake had been made and altered the naming of the website to the far better-knownwww.sarawakreport.org, which is of course this website's address!
As a result the carefully placed Borneo Post article ended up promoting us, instead of promoting the Chief Minister's new 'cyber-weapon', which exploits our name!  This clearly did not go down well!
We wish to say, however, that we deplore such treatment of a loyal employee, who like most of us, relies on his salary.  Why should a professional be fired for failing to be sufficiently quick-footed at such dirty tricks that the Chief Minister has been attempting to play?  It is surely high time that Sarawak caught up with the rest of the world with rules to protect people with fair employment rules, so that high-handed dictators like Taib do not think they can just fire decent ordinary people like this in moments of anger and bad behaviour.
Don't forget you can't sack everybody, Taib Mahmud….. but they can sack you in just 3 weeks time!

Video Seks: Pemimpin PAS Pula Jadi Menjadi Mangsa Fitnah Blogger UMNO

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 07:12 AM PDT

Selain memfitnah wartawan Harakah, blog Umno turut memfitnah dua pemimpin PAS.

Pasal apa depa diam? Patut depa cakap hal ni kepada juak Pas yg lain," tulis blogger Umno berkenaan dalam Twitternya.

Ketika dihubungi, kedua-dua pemimpin PAS berkenaan menafikannya.

"Depa bohong..ana blum tengok pun lagi..." kata salah seorang darinya.

Seorang lagi pemimpin PAS yang dihantar salinan Twitter berkenaan pula menjawab, "Belum tengok dan tak minat nak tengok. -HD

Where For Art Thou?

The darned weather these days are at the two opposite extremes. It's either darned cold or darned hot. I can't remember this planet being like this before. Back then, the weather was just nice. I guess all the junk we release in the air contributes to the extremes of weather that we experience. I'm actually waiting for it to snow one of these days :D

Today has been a terribly hot day. This is the kind of day that makes trying to run really difficult. You get drained out much faster than normal. And if you're not careful, dehydration sets in pretty fast.

Speaking of running and dehydration, does anyone know where I can buy Gatorade in bulk? I've been searching for a place to buy it in bulk but can't seem to find anywhere selling it. My running has taken a more serious note these days and I've gone from running to lose weight and being healthy to competitive running, well at least I'm working towards that goal anyway and I tend to drink loads and I really mean loads and loads of Gatorade.

In fact I drink more Gatorade these days than I drink water and buying them individually is putting a huge strain on my finances. You know how much the darned things cost for a 500ml bottle? RM2.40-RM2.60 a bottle if you buy it from a petrol station or 7-11 and the cheapest I've found is RM2.10 at Jaya Grocers in Empire Shopping Gallery.

While RM2.40 in average may not be much but the quantity I drink (not to mention wifey drinks it too after her runs) it can cost quite a bit. Every time we buy some (which is like 4-6 bottles), it doesn't last even a day sometimes. Like I said, I drink the stuff more than I drink water. We've been looking out for places where we can buy a whole carton of the stuff, which I believe will be much cheaper than buying them individually but simply cannot find a place selling them wholesale.

I've even gone online to search but no luck. I suppose I could just inquire from Permanis Malaysia cos they distribute Gatorade locally but I'd rather just buy it off somewhere nearby. So if any of you know where to buy Gatorade in bulk, please do tell me before I go broke from buying them off the petrol stations! Or maybe I could attend the Diamonds International Jewelry in Cabo show and get into the diamond trade and make some money and then buy the whole darned Gatorade factory ... LOL!

Egyptian cleric on referendum: "The ballot boxes said 'yes' to Islam...From now on, Islam will enter every aspect of our lives"

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 05:28 AM PDT

Remember PAS in Malaysia, remember the Mullahs in Iran.

Secular democracy on the march! Here is another I-Tried-To-Tell-You Alert: "Egyptian Cleric Muhammad Hussein Yaaqub: Results of Egyptian Referendum Were in Favor of Islam, and Whoever Is Unhappy about It Is Free to Leave to Canada or the US," from MEMRITV, March 21 (thanks to John):

Following are excerpts from a speech delivered by Egyptian cleric Muhammad Hussein Yaaaqub, which was posted on the Internet (accessed on March 21, 2011): [...]

Muhaamad Hussein Yaaqub: This was an [Islamic] raid – the raid of the ballot boxes. [...] They have begun saying: "From now on, Islam will enter every aspect of our lives." What is our response to them?

Crowds: Yes, it will.

Muhaamad Hussein Yaaqub: They were the ones who said that it would be decided by the ballot, weren't they? Isn't that what their democracy is all about? The people said "yes" to Islam, right?

Crowds: Right.

Muhaamad Hussein Yaaqub: The people have said that they want religion, and whoever says he cannot live in such a country anymore is free to go. Go in peace. After all, they have visas for Canada and America. They are free to go.

Egyptian government outlaws protests and demonstrations

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 05:11 AM PDT

So whatever happened to the "Secular Muslim Brotherhood" ? Is it going to come up and bite you up your arse! Egyptians are stupid, period! In Egypt a new Mullah and a bigot will be replacing Mubarak. Kiss democracy good-bye. I love it when leftists and the Catholic Herald spin the goodie two bit shit about tolerance and democracy and get shit on their faces. I love to say I told you so! In other words, the new "democratic" government of Egypt just criminalized the very thing that brought it to power. Who is the Muslim Brotherhood?

Add to the above the virginity test female protesters are forced to take, the rise the Muslim Brotherhood which spawned the al-Qaeda, and you'll see that Egypt ended up under a worse dictatorship than it was under Mubarak. Only now it has a sharia pushing radical Islam element in it.

Can you smell democracy?
Cairo (AsiaNews) – The Egyptian cabinet approved a decree that criminalises strikes, protests, demonstrations and sit-ins that interrupt private or state owned businesses or affect the economy in any way. It calls for severe punishment of those who call for or incite action, with a maximum sentence of one year in prison and fines of up to US$ 85,000. The new law still needs to be approved by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which took over following Mubarak's fall from power.

Sources told AsiaNews that the measure is meant to stifle the voice of the people who led the Jasmine Revolution and oppose the results of the recent constitutional referendum, manipulated by the Muslim Brotherhood.

"This law confirms the Brotherhood's attempt to take over the Jasmine Revolution," the source said. The army and the Islamist party have struck a deal to maintain the country's stability and the price is the ideals of democracy and democracy that brought down Mubarak. "The danger is the rise of an Islamic dictatorship that would replace the military regime that has governed the country in the past 40 years." Hat tip: Eye On The World

JPJ Tak Dapat Kesan Kereta WQU 1925 Yang Bawa Chegubard Ke Hotel Shangri-La

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 06:10 AM PDT

I am Woman Hear Me HONK!

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:15 AM PDT

Feeling bored? If you are a woman and need an adrenaline rush, please read this article HERE from Free Malaysia Today. I guarantee a spike in your blood pressure sans any medication. All it takes is a click of the mouse to get you THERE.

According to that report: (my comments are in italics)

1. Umno MP Bung Mokhtar Radin has blamed women drivers for road accidents, and in the ensuing debate, described his PAS counterpart Dr Siti Mariah Mahmood as a "monkey."

* Does he have statistics to show that women drivers are responsible for road accidents?
Show us:

a) the frequency of accidents caused by women against those caused by men
b) the types of accidents caused by women against those caused by men
c) evidence to prove that men are better, safer and more careful drivers than women and in what ways
d) a compare and contrast case to justify his name-calling act on Dr. Siti Mariah Mahmood

Now if you are a lady driver, what is YOUR RESPONSE to Bung Mokhtar Radin' 'scholarly' observation? Please speak up!!! Thanks!!!

2. The Kinabatangan MP who is no stranger to ruffling feathers with his sexist remarks told the House that women drivers do not concentrate on the road.

Again, I hope he can provide evidence to show that he has done an EXTENSIVE, EXHAUSTIVE and REPRESENTATIVE STUDY to show that women do not concentrate on the road. Otherwise, such a statement can be deemed as an overgeneralization or a stereotype which is totally uncalled for and most unbecoming of a MP.

I am a lady driver and I can assure you that I ALWAYS concentrate on the road!!! I do not remember Bung Mokhtar ever doing an observation of my driving to contribute to his observation! So how on earth can he make such a sweeping statement of WOMEN DRIVERS?

Please speak up, readers!!!

3. "Just because they are inside a car, they think that the world is theirs, they don't look or left," he said, adding that when honked at, women drivers get upset.

On my part, I have never thought that the world is mine once I am inside a car. I DO NOT HAVE TUNNEL VISION. Neither do I wear a neck brace that prevents me from looking to the right or to the left. However, I admit that when someone honks at me unfairly, I HONK BACK! But if I am in the wrong, e.g. moving too slowly, I wave and nod in an apologetic stance.

How many women drivers has Bung Mokhtar Radin OBSERVED? Is it his past time?

4. "There are times when we honk, and they show all sorts of signs," he said.

If a person honks unfairly, of course some will reciprocate accordingly. Does he expect us to grovel before him and pay homage when he honks at us at any time? Does it mean that in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, women have to be subservient to men and not express our feelings????

5. This prompted Siti Mariah to demand that Bung retract his remarks, stating that his statement was too general.

I support Siti Mariah's move.

6. However, Bung was adamant that he had spoken the truth, and lashed out at the Kota Raja MP for attempting to politicise the issue.

Since when is speaking up against an overgeneralized statement a move to politicise an issue? Does he know the meaning of  "statement was too general"?

"We are talking about accidents, don't politicise everything, don't be a monkey. You want to even politicise deaths," he snapped.

What nonsense? From sexist statements to politicising issues and then indulging in name-calling and then politicising deaths? Is he for real????

At this juncture, Dzulkefly Ahmad (PAS- Kuala Selangor) came to his colleague's aide and asked Bung what evidence he had to back his claim.

Kudos to Dr. Dzulkefly!

He also reminded the Umno MP that his wife and mother were women.

Well done, Dr. Dzulkefly! I hope that MP's mom and wife reads the newspaper report about his wonderful statements.

7. Bung remained unapologetic and argued that he was not being disrespectful to women but merely pointing out that accidents happened to women who had just passed their driving tests.

Yup - twist and shout in the tradition of the Beatles. CLICK HERE to listen to the song to cool down!

"Do not politicise the issue," he repeated. "There is no discrimination… (I am referring) only to new drivers," he said.

More twists!!! Come onnnnnnnnnn!!!

Coming to Bung's defence, Abdul Rahman Dahlan (BN-Kota Belud) said that the Kinabatangan MP was not being disrespectful to women.

Oh yeah???? Then what was he doing? Glorifying women kah?

8. "I sympathise with Kinabatangan… there are no negative implications (to his statement). Women are more careful, so they drive slower. There is no discrimination (against women)," he said.

WITNESS PROTECTION ACT – A VIEW

Posted: 28 Mar 2011 04:13 AM PDT

Perak's PPP Deputy Chairman and criminal lawyer Dr. Naran Singh has said that the trio involved in the screening of a sex video that alleges Anwar Ibrahim's involvement should be protected under the Witness Protection Act (WPA). The Act stipulates that 'any witness who comes forward to reveal privy information on acts of wrong doing should be given rightful protection'.

I am no lawyer but my interpretation and understanding of the Act may differ from that of Dr. Naran in this particular case. I would agree with Dr. Naran if the trio calling themselves Datuk 'T' did not deliberately call for the newsmen (I do not know how many of them) to Carcosa for a public viewing of the video. Had the trio maintained absolute privacy of the video, and went directly to the police, then I think WPA applies. But by having to screen the video to the newsmen and subsequently publishing it the following day makes it public information, and is no longer privy information.

My perception of the case is simply that the trio wanted to cast aspersion on Anwar character and for the press to believe that the person in the video was indeed Anwar. The motive is ill intended. If one is to listen to the press statement given by YB Johari Abdul who was invited by the trio to see the video, than one would have a different perception of the case. Regardless whether if it was Anwar or not in the act, but a good Muslim would never ever want to do what the trio had done. It is outright slander, and the trio being Muslims would know what it takes to slander someone. What if the investigation concludes that it wasn't Anwar the porn actor?

Some would say that I am only trying to defend Anwar. It is far from that. The issue in question here is one of slander, and it has nothing to do with whether it was Anwar or otherwise. I am only defending the right of an individual against an act of slander, and clearly the act of the trio is definitely one of slander. And what makes this issue even worse is that the persons involved in the screening of the video are persons of influence and dignity. I do not know whether my readers will agree with me on this.

My only humble response to Dr. Naran is that I beg to differ from his views and opinion of the case. I would stick by my decision that the trio does not deserve to be protected under the WPA, but is to be investigated for being in possession of a pornographic video and for screening it in public.
