who’s the one inviting trouble??

who’s the one inviting trouble??

who’s the one inviting trouble??

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 10:03 AM PDT

definitely not the christians, but them:

they are members from PEMBELA. read about it at the malaysian insider.

just look at them! so angry. protesting with banners.

and the issue did not involve them at all too; and while the issue involve the christians, but you never see the christians protesting and getting angry like them. instead the christians 'protest' by having prayers. gathering quietly, peacefully, in their own private building to pray. yes this is how christians react. prayers.  they don't drag cow-heads. they don't burn mosques. they don't go on protest after their sunday service, fill with anger, shouting abuse.

rightly, MCCBCHST came out to criticise pembela for lodging a police report and for what they had said. "it's intimidating" they said. yes indeed. when they said the christians are inviting trouble, it sounds so much like a threat.

'inviting trouble'? why do you say that unless it is you yourself who wants to give the trouble? reminds me of the saying 'do not look for trouble unless trouble trobules you'.  the impounded alkitab issue has nothing to do with them at all, so why they want to meddle and look for trouble?

initially i want to respond paragraph by paragraph to all the nonesense pembela had said, as from the malaysian insider… but i see too many nonsense and silliness there, that if i were to do it,  it will be very stressful for me.  go on… you go and read it for yourself and you will see what i mean.  well at the moment, there's only one thing i like to point out. they were grumbling why did the govt. allow a christian leader to mediate in this issue when it should be a muslim leader. huh?? have they gone mad? it's precisely the issue about christianity that the govt appoint a christian leader. what the hell does a muslim leader has to do with this issue?

the way pembela came out with their strong seditious comments, i'm afraid they are making matter worst. the issue, i think, is about to die down but, here they come with their provocation.  i'm concerned that this might escalate into something more serious.  najib's so called 1malaysia administration must do something fast!

NOTE:  the CFM had a meeting yesterday with lots of major church organisations, church leaders and also the alkitab publisher and they will come out with a statement today at3.00pm. watch out for the statement!

RM 407 million Debt and NO WORRIES????

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 09:00 AM PDT

The Malaysian Insider carried a press statement by Bernama HERE which said:

The country's debt last year amounted RM407.1 billion or 53.1 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is no cause for worry, Dewan Rakyat heard today.

Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Awang Adek Hussein said of the amount, RM390.4 billion or 96 per cent was internal while RM16.7 billion or four per cent was external debt.

"Concern should be on foreign debt but at only four per cent, it is not worrying. Our GDP ratio is much lower than others including developed countries," he said when winding up debate on the ministry's Supplementary Supply Bill (2010) 2011.

Awang Adek said the debts were from loans to finance the deficit and finance development projects. The loans will generate revenue to the government as it is an investment.

"The returns will be higher. This is normally the case except during an economic slowdown."

Feeling curious, I surfed the net for more data and this is what I found - a different set of figures.

According to Index Mundi HERE:

Debt - external: $72.6 billion (31 December 2010 est.)
$67.4 billion (31 December 2009 est.)

Year      External Debt       Ranking        Percentage Change

2003      $47,500,000,000      20
2004      $48,840,000,000      24           2.82 %
2005      $53,360,000,000      25           9.25 %
2006      $52,000,000,000      38           -2.55 %
2007      $57,770,000,000      37           11.10 %
2008      $53,090,000,000      45           -8.10 %
2009      $75,330,000,000      42           41.89 %
2010      $58,790,000,000      49           -21.96 %

THIS LINK shows that our external debt is increasing.

Note the breakdowns for short-term, medium term and long-term debts. Cross compare on your own to see if the figures MATCH or tally!

For those believers in Keynesian economics, there is usually a tolerance for fairly high levels of public debt with the hope that they can pay for public investment in lean times. Then, if boom times follow, the debt can be paid back from rising tax revenues.

In the past, many nations willingly took on public debt to finance large infrastructural capital projects that ran into millions and billions e.g. highways etc. Theoretically, they thought that this could stimulate the economy and increase business confidence since there would be more workers with money to spend.

Wikipedia HERE gives some guidelines to understand the structure of public debt and how to analyze its risk. It says we should:

* Assess the expected value of any public asset being constructed, at least in future tax terms if not in direct revenues. A choice must be made about its status as a public good — some public "assets" end up as public bads, such as nuclear power plants which are extremely expensive to decommission — these costs must also be worked in to asset values.

* Determine whether any public debt is being used to finance consumption, which includes all social assistance and all military spending.

* Determine whether triple bottom line issues are likely to lead to failure or defaults of governments — say due to being overthrown.
* Determine whether any of the debt being undertaken may be held to be odious debt, which might permit it to be disavowed without any effect on a country's credit status. This includes any loans to purchase "assets" such as leaders' palaces, or the people's suppression or extermination. International law does not permit people to be held responsible for such debts — as they did not benefit in any way from the spending and had no control over it.

* Determine if any future entitlements are being created by expenditures — financing a public swimming pool for instance may create some right to recreation where it did not previously exist, by precedent and expectations.
The above information is from THIS LINK.

With a high debt, it means that government borrowing is an important part of fiscal policy and management of aggregate demand in any economy. When the government is running a budget deficit, it means that in a given year, total government expenditure exceeds total tax revenue.

We must remember that in the long run, a high level of government borrowing adds to the accumulated National Debt. This means that the Government has to spend more each year in debt-interest payments to holders of government bonds and other securities. Naturally, opportunity cost is involved here because interest payments could have been used for other items such as on health services. Besides, it also represents a transfer of income from people and businesses that pay taxes to those who hold government debt and cause a redistribution of income and wealth in the economy.

At the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, has there be wasteful public spending in our country?  We have seen an increase in spending in arms, boats and other military equipment but are there more hospitals and schools and low cost housing for the rakyat? Can we truly believe that there are benefits of higher spending especially if the scale of waste in the public sector is high? That amount of money would be better off being used by the private sector or used for other projects that directly benefit the rakyat such as in health care or education.

I am no accounting or economics expert but I am worried when I read about such facts, figures and statements. How about you?

Kartun Lucah: Tak Dapat Tanduk Telinga Dipulas

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 09:45 AM PDT

Izzah buat laporan 'kartun lucah' bapanya

Zunar: Kemunculan 'kartunis pelacur' jatuhkan martabat seni budaya

Otak UMNO BN memang otak lucah.

Myeloid Leukaemia Genes Discovered, New Treatments Possible

Unlike the fake republics, the Arab monarchies may survive.

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:49 AM PDT

The fake republics are goners; the monarchies have a fighting chance. That's my conclusion after a short visit to the Middle East and discussions with officials and analysts there.

The ingredients that brought Ben Ali down in Tunisia were closely replicated in Egypt and Libya: repression, vast corruption, and family rule. They are all present in Syria as well, suggesting that the Assad regime may stay in power for a while by shooting protesting citizens, but that its ultimate demise is certain.

The monarchies, especially Jordan and Morocco, have some genuine legitimacy, as do the Gulf states as well. They are less repressive and more legitimate than the now-overthrown false republics, with their stolen elections, regime-dominated courts, and rubber-stamp parliaments. Unlike the republics of fear, these monarchies do not have histories of bloody repression and jails filled with political prisoners. (Bahrain is an exception, for the Sunni dynasty ruling over a Shia population always had less legitimacy — and may now have fatally compromised whatever was left it by bringing in Saudi and other foreign troops to crush demonstrations.)

The question for the kings, emirs, and sheiks is whether they will do two things: end the corruption that surrounds all these royal courts, and begin a genuine move toward constitutional monarchy, where power is shared between the throne and the people. In Kuwait there is already a real, elected parliament with genuine power, but the prime minister is always a member of the ruling al-Sabah family. That must end.

In Jordan, where the prime minister is always a commoner, the king has announced some new reforms that would tend to move the country toward a more democratic system: Notably, the prime minister would emerge from the victorious political party, not from back-room conversations in the royal palace. Electoral reforms are also promised, to end the gerrymandering that minimizes representation for Palestinian-origin Jordanians and creates a permanent majority for the East Bank tribes.

But those tribes have long been the Hashemites' power base, and they man the army and the police, so such a reform is fraught with danger for the king. Past announcements of reform have never panned out, and high officials say the identity issue — are the Palestinians "real" Jordanians, loyal to the Hashemite Kingdom, or would they choose allegiance to a Palestinian state? — cannot be solved until a Palestinian state actually exists and offers them citizenship. So the pace of change to come in Jordan remains unclear, even if advisers to the king are insistent that his reading of the regional revolts has persuaded him he must move soon.

The king of Morocco has announced an even deeper reform, one that would move the country to a true constitutional monarchy. He has called for separation of powers, independent courts, prime ministers who actually govern, and a reduction in the now central role of the palace. Morocco was already far from an absolute monarchy, but if this plan is implemented, it will provide a model for the Arab world — which is why there are stories in Arab circles that the Saudis have privately expressed extreme displeasure to the Moroccan king over the terrible precedent he is setting.

While Qatar and the United Arab Emirates can buy off their tiny citizenries, since their populations are made up mostly of guest workers who do not expect political rights, Saudi Arabia has a population of 25 million, many of whom are unemployed and unemployable young men, trained in the miserable Saudi school system only to recite the Koran and unfit for any work in a modern economy. The endless billions in oil wealth have produced inequality and excess; they have not produced development.

This month, the king, aware of the dangers in this Arab Spring, announced a staggering $93 billion in subsidies — bribes, really — to head off trouble. Nothing he announced, however — better government salaries and pensions, for example, and the construction of 500,000 houses — will make the kingdom more productive or give ordinary Saudis real political rights. Local elections have been announced, but women will still not be permitted to vote, and elected officials will "share" power with royal appointees. The king also announced an expansion of his security forces by 60,000 and a larger budget for the religious police. This is not a reform program but a program designed to defeat reform.

Radioaktif Sudah Sampai Di Filipina & Korea Selatan

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 08:26 AM PDT

"Situasi sekarang amat buruk.

- AP

It has been over a decade since the establishment of the National Arts Culture and Heritage Academy (Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan or ASWARA) near Padang Merbok, KL. It objective is to produce creative performers, to nurture artistic talent and develop leaders in local arts.

In fact, ASWARA is the only institute of higher learning in Malaysia that provides formal training courses in the arts, culture and heritage to Malaysians.

It plays a sentimental role in giving birthto future scholars, thinkers, writers, motivators and artists who are knowledgeable, professional, resilient and highly capable. The government's effort, especially the Ministry of Information, Communication and Heritage is already paying off.

In tandem with our vision to emerge as a developed nation by the year 2020, education in the arts, culture and heritage is also an important part of the agenda to develop the country. Its is our diversified culture that mends our 'bangsa Malaysia' together.

I have been to ASWARA many times, especially to watch their shows and performances. The students got superb talent. I remember PM Najib was there to watch a show about Tun Razak while former PM Tun Dr Mahathir was there for another show.

Undoubtedly ASWARA has made many great advancements but the government, notably the ministry seem to be neglecting it in some aspects.

ASWARA makes us proud because it is another 'Berkeley' in the country. However, it is sad to note that the academy is being mistreated. I dont know what Datuk Rais Yatim or Sec-Gen Datuk Kamaruddin got to say about this. ASWARA is being treated as a third-class academy despite offering diplomas in about 15 disciplines.

There are about 800 students, only a few of whom stay in the hostel. The rest has to find houses or rooms elsewhere.

About 70 per cent of its students came from Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and other States. They are 'kampung' boys and girls who are willing to go against all odds to attain their dream of becoming professional musicians, singers, orchestra conductors, film producers, choreographers, dancers, etc.

But their welfare is not being taken care off. They are not eligible for a single sen of our PTPTN study loan. Why? Are ASWARA certs and diplomas not recognised by the government and its agencies? Why didnt the ministry do anything about it?

The fees are not cheap either. Most students from the rural areas are poor, so poor that they sometimes have to share or skip meals! Of course, they dont expect much from their parents. They are like beggars when it come to utility and daily needs.

Sorry to say, this 'poor' condition has led to an alarming social problem among some of them, especially those without a place in the hostel. They are forced to to 'anything' for survival, to pay rentals, transportation, meals, mobile phones and others.

Some parents say ASWARA is turning into an ASMARA. I agree!

I hope Rais and his officials take a deeper look into this problem. It belongs to the government. If we cant take care of it, especially the students' welfare, better close it for good. Do not turn the students into destitute and prostitutes.

Unless we want to see sex videos being produced by some of them!

Kit Siang: Tamatkan Segera Politik Jijik

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 07:23 AM PDT

Pertama kali menteri pertahan pengedaran video lucah

-SH

Spending Money to Unveil the Budget?

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 03:20 AM PDT

I rubbed my eyes in sheer disbelief when I read THIS ARTICLE in The Malaysian Insider which said:

Parliament House's multi-purpose hall is expecting a RM24 million makeover, Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said today.

He said the project was mooted after it was decided that the hall will be used for the 2012 Budget unveiling towards the end of this year.

The minister said it is necessary to start work on the hall soon to make sure the building is done in time for when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak tables next year's budget.

"The lives of all elected representatives is important, so we need to make sure the hall is safe for all of us to use," he said when responding to a supplementary question from Pokok Sena MP, Mahfuz Omar, during question time.
The report said that the project has been awarded to Trans Resource Corporation (TRC) Sdn Bhd via direct negotiations, but the cost is still pending Cabinet approval.

It also stated that at least RM100 million has been spent to renovate and refurbish the Parliament building and its facilities between 2007 till now. The work carried out include the RM91 million spent to upgrade the interior decorations and facilities and RM9.5 million to install waterproof lining on the roof following the 2007 leak incident. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

On June 16th last year, The Malaysian Insider carried a report HERE  which said that "the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) may soon be the new Parliament House under a plan by the Najib administration to use the under-utilised building.

The proposal came into light following opposition from within the Cabinet over a much-criticised proposal to build a brand-new Parliament building in Putrajaya for an estimated RM800 million, to replace the current legislative complex in Kuala Lumpur.

On 30th November, The Malaysian Insider reported HERE that Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, who is the minister in charge of Parliament, revealed a RM485 million expansion plan to renovate the 47-year-old Parliament building, which will see the construction of a new chamber and a new six-storey building for administration and MPs' offices. Then, he told The Malaysian Insider that the project should kick off by middle of next year and was currently pending approval from the Cabinet.

Note that the report that was carried today shed no light about the original RM485 million expansion plan which was said to be 'pending approval from the Cabinet'.

There is also no clarification as to whether this 24 million RM expenditure is part of the RM485 million expansion plan.

I can appreciate that the budget, as well as the lives of elected representatives, is important but to spend RM24 million just for the purpose of unveiling the budget seems like a big sum!

In another report HERE, the Defence Ministry has sealed a RM700 million deal with the United States to purchase 130,000 new weapons for the armed forces and police.

The Star also reported HERE that a total of RM500million in loans is now available to those who wish to develop their skills as part of the effort to enable Malaysians to compete globally and move into a high-income nation.

Another report HERE said that RM11,185,542.93 (11.2) million was spent on 16 by-elections since 2008.

In February, it was revealed that the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) planned to buy six offshore patrol vessels (OPV) for RM6 billion. Check out a Malaysian Insider report HERE and a very hilarious tongue-in-cheek article by Mr. Brown HERE on the OPVs.

Suddenly, it seems as though our country has LOTS OF MONEY TO SPEND!!! WHY????

Can we afford to splurge this way?

Mohd Sabu Nafi Dah Tengok Video Seks

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 04:12 AM PDT

Aku tak tergila nak tengok video tu" - Mohamad Sabu

Mana mungkin tiada agenda kalau bermati-matian, memaksa orang lain supaya tengok video tu.

"Kerajaan jangan cuba memperbodohkan rakyat.

Kita tunggu....... -ruangbicarafaisal

Gomo Sahkan Mat Sabu Dan Mustapha Ali Sudah Menonton Video Seks Porno Anwar Ibrahim

Kenapa Mustapha Ali dan Mat Sabu diam membisu dalam isu Video Porno ANwar Ibrahim? Setahu Gomo mereka berdua dah menonton tayangan Video Porno tu pada hari Khamis selang sehari selepas Gomo pergi lihat video seks Anwar Ibrahim tu.

Kenapa diam membisu? Kenapa?

Nak berdiam diri sahaja?

Blogger RBF turut mengesahkan Pekara ini BACA DI ATAS

Psssttt...Takkan depa dua nak halalkan perbuatan Seks Anwar Ibrahim ni?

Selain memfitnah wartawan Harakah, blog Umno turut memfitnah dua pemimpin PAS.

Pasal apa depa diam? Patut depa cakap hal ni kepada juak Pas yg lain," tulis blogger Umno berkenaan dalam Twitternya.

Ketika dihubungi, kedua-dua pemimpin PAS berkenaan menafikannya.

"Depa bohong..ana blum tengok pun lagi..." kata salah seorang darinya.

Seorang lagi pemimpin PAS yang dihantar salinan Twitter berkenaan pula menjawab, "Belum tengok dan tak minat nak tengok.

Boys in uniforms…

Posted: 29 Mar 2011 06:13 AM PDT

Having promised Saiful and Azman that I'd be fetching them after 2 pm yesterday to bring them to Ipoh to buy their cadet uniforms, I left my house right after my zohor prayer.

This time when I got to Sofie's house, I didn't go in. I just honked and waved to Saiful and Azman to get into the car. No need to waste any time, I'd only go in later when we come back.

It was very hot yesterday. Even with the aircond at full blast, I could feel the heat from outside. When we got to Ipoh city center, Azman commented about the traffic jam. Obviously he had never seen KL traffic.

Anyway, there is one particular shop which sells all the uniforms not only for the co-curriculum activities, but for all the uniformed bodies like the police and army. But having been there a few times, I was concerned there may not be any suitable size for Saiful, who is extra small. Even for his school uniform, we bought his shirt at the primary school department, while his green school trousers had to be specifically ordered to his size. He may be in form one, but his standard 3 sister looks bigger than him.

So first I brought them to another shop selling clothes including uniforms in bulk. I had passed by the place before and had seen them hanging cadet uniforms at their shop. Only problem was, the salesgirl there had to be told which one was the cadet uniforms we were looking for. When I went in and asked for the "uniform cadet remaja sekolah", she showed me the scout's uniform. I thought she misheard me, so I said again, "Bukan, saya mau uniform cadet remaja." "Ya la, ini la!" she insisted. Duh! I ended up showing the cadet uniform hung in front of the shop.

Finding the right size for Azman wasn't a problem. As a matter of fact, when he was trying out the trousers, I heard Azman calling for me, "Makcik, boleh mintak yang saiz besar sikit tak? Hehehe… perut boroi! As for Saiful, the salesgirl just took out the smallest size available. Not too bad for the shirt, although it was still big for Saiful, it just looked slightly big. Some people like their clothes a size or two bigger anyway. But the trousers had to be folded up at least 6 or 7 inches. I asked the salesgirl, "you ingat dia punya umur berapa?" And she answered, "6 tahun?" Adoi… kalau 6 tahun beli baju kadet remaja buat apa?!!! But that just shows how small Saiful is…

We still took the smallest uniform available for Saiful. Sofie can sew, so maybe she can just adjust the uniforms a bit so that it will not look too big on Saiful. The salesgirl then took out all the accessories… badges etc. They were short of one badge so the girl said she'd just walk over to their store just across the road. "Sekejap saja", so she said.

We waited… and waited… and waited. And mind you, the weather was hot. After almost 20 minutes, the girl finally came back, saying they didn't have the stock. Duh! So we just paid for whatever was available. We then moved on to the other shop where I usually bring "my children" to buy their co-curriculum uniforms, to buy the cadet boots, which were not available at the first shop we went to.

Ahh, at least this second shop was cooler with closed door and aircond! Bliss! Again, there was no problem getting a pair of boots for Azman, but Saiful had to settle for the smallest one available. Why lah did the teacher tell him to join the cadets in the first place?!

We got whatever else needed at this second shop. This time the salesgirl knew her stuff well, so not much explaining was needed.

Once we got back to their home, I told Saiful to try out his uniform. Had a good laugh seeing him putting on his uniform, but after he wore the complete set, it didn't look too bad after all. Sofie just needed to adjust the trousers a bit. I told her not to cut anything… hopefully the uniform can last a few years to come even if he grows bigger.

Ika, their youngest sister, who had been watching all the while, then said to me, "Makcik, nanti saya ingat nak bagitau cikgu saya tak naklah masuk Puteri Islam. Saya nak masuk kadet polis."
