so of course then the equation is that DPM is racist too, which will equal to the umno govt being racist.

i find it strange… yet amusing… yet anger, when i see these two heading side by side in malaysiakini.

remember the govt and umno had denied they have anything to do with perkasa, though we all know, as lim kit siang rightly puts it, perkasa is extremist proxy for umno.  well, here is one of the proof. at the same time while perkasa back up utusan, the DPM too back up utusan!

i'm too tired to go through both the articles to single out what they said and comment. so very fed up already!! only want to say these few words….

- the DPM siding with utusan though it's so obvious utusan is so racist. of course. utusan is umno owned.

- perkasa gathering outside the MCA HQ, do they have police permit? why police allowed their gathering, while hindraf, bersih, anti ISA gathering, police always stop them.

- can perkasa members read mandarin? how come they know chinese paper more racist than utusan?

- hate it so much when they (perkasa) like to say 'don't challenge islam/the malays'.

- at the gathering, perkasa issued threat… and yet nothing was done to them.

plain double standard at work here! grrr!!

Perkasa huffs and puffs outside MCA HQ

Apr 25, 11 5:22pm

Around 50 members of the right wing NGO Perkasa today protested in front of MCA's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur over the party's call for a boycott of Umno-linked daily Utusan Malaysia.

Carrying placards that read, among others, "MCA don't play with fire" the protesters shouted slogans such as "Hidup Melayu" (Long live the Malays) and "Hidup Utusan Melayu" (Long live Utusan).

Upholding the daily as the defender of the Malays, Perkasa secretary Syed Hassan Syed Ali said their protest was organised to counter MCA, which Perkasa accused of breaching Malay sensitivities.

"MCA has not stopped demanding… if they persist, they will get what's coming," warned Syed Hassan.

"If they touch on Malay sensitivities, we will not support them any more," he told reporters after the brief 10-minute protest.

Prior to the display, the group had handed MCA's top leadership a "four point warning", which they did not disclose to the media.

A secretary to MCA president Chua Soi Lek received the notice.

Last week MCA called for a boycott of Utusan for publishing a call for a '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement, that the Chinese party argued was legitimising racial discrimination.

The pro-government daily was responding to DAP's overwhelming reception during the recent Sarawak election, particularly in the state's Chinese-majority urban centres.

In response to MCA's call, Perkasa had called the BN component party "desperate" in its attempt to regain lost Chinese support.

'Chinese, view Perkasa positively'

Perkasa also wants the Chinese and Indians to view its struggle in defending the rights of the Malays from a positive angle.

photo burnt by perkasa members 2According to Bernama, Kedah Perkasa president Syed Osman Mansor said today Perkasa would defend the rights of the Malays in accordance with the law and there was nothing secret about its struggle.

"The Malays have become disunited because of politics. Nevertheless, a rise in their unity was seen through two huge gatherings (organised by Perkasa) in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and Pasir Salak, Perak, this year.

"Kedah Perkasa will organise the third gathering at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday and Saturday," he told reporters.

Syed Osman said more than 30,000 people were expected at the gathering.

He said Perkasa would launch the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' campaign on Saturday to openly demand Malay rights.

Muhyiddin raps MCA for 'boycott Utusan' call

Lee Way Loon
Apr 25, 11

Deputy Prime Minister Muyhiddin Yassin today defended Utusan Malaysia as a Malay voice and said it was improper of the MCA to boycott the Umno-owned Malay daily.

He said Utusan has been the voice of the Malays and Malaysians in conveying the people's views on various issues.

This, said Muhyiddin, who is also Umno deputy president, was never meant to damage national unity.

"We have to remain rational. I don't know why MCA wants to do this, as I was not in Malaysia then.

"Is it because MCA is worried that what was reported in Utusan can spark a riot?" Muhyiddin said, adding that Utusan only reported what the Malays felt.

He was responding to MCA's call to the people to boycott the Malay daily for calling for a '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement instead of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's 1Malaysia campaign.

Muyhiddin told reporters after launching the Kuala Lumpur international book fair that it was improper of the MCA to call for the boycott of Utusan.

"I don't think it is proper for us to call for people not to read Utusan. What is it so afraid of?" Muhyiddin asked.

He added that Utusan and other media have the right to report what they wanted to report, but the media could not break certain limits.

"I'm sure other media also have their pro and cons, but we can't stop certain media like Utusan from reporting what it wants to report

"But there are limits. The first thing is the law, the second thing is (you) cannot touch on the issues that can be deemed as racial and sensitive, " Muhyiddin said.

'Boycott won't be effective'

The calls to boycott Utusan, he said would not succeed and the Malay daily would continue with its reporting job.

"To read the paper or not is an individual decision, if you want to (boycott), do lah, but it will not be effective at all.

"The more you ask people to boycott, the more people will want to read, so why? Are you afraid of this?" he asked.

However, Muhyiddin skirted the question whether he supported the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement.

The calls for '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement, he said, were a natural response after certain parties saw the voting trend in Sarawak state election, where most of the Chinese voted for opposition.

"This is their right to do, but we as a government cannot say 'do lah', or else we will have '1India', '1Chinese', '1Bengali', and '1Mat Salleh' in the future," he said.

"To me, it is a feeling of worry and a reaction to the latest political trend, which brings the Chinese out of mainstream politics."

He also warned the Chinese dailies not to manipulate his statement, or they would have to face the music.

Utusan assistant editor-in-chief Zaini Hassan, in his 'Cuit' column on April 20, said the DAP had managed to unite the Chinese politically and, in his opinion, the Malays should launch the "1Melayu, 1Bumi" unity movement.

Last Friday, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said the government had nothing to do with the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement proposed by Utusan.

However, MCA deputy publicity chief Loh Seng Kok urged Malaysians to boycott Utusan, saying the daily's call for '1Melayu, 1Bumi' movement was legitimising racial discrimination.

LKS: Voice of Malays, or of Muhyiddin?

Adding to the debate today, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang rubbished Muhyiddin's claim of Utusan as being the representative of Malaysians.

It doesn't even qualify to be the voice of the Malays, said the Ipoh Timor parliamentarian, citing the 'nose-dive' in circulation suffered by the daily from 350,000 in 2009 to less than that half the amount in the following year.

"The Utusan Malaysia is not the voice of the Malays as right-thinking and rational Malays like right-thinking and rational Malaysians have been migrating away from Utusan Malaysia, particularly to online media," said Lim in a statement.

If it was representative of anybody, Lim suggested further, it was of the communal views held by Muhyiddin that stand in contrast to Najib's ostensibly inclusive concept of 1Malaysia.

"How can Muhyiddin give endorsement to Utusan Malaysia's call for '1Melayu, 1Bumi' when it is clearly an open affront and repudiation of Najib's 1Malaysia signature policy?

"Or is Najib Prime Minister for 1Malaysia while Muhyiddin is deputy prime minister for 1Melayu? Is Najib's 1Malaysia only meant for non-Malays while Muhyiddin's 1Melayu reserved for Malays?"

Hurt can be a very painful emotion. It can drive people apart or even tear one apart from within. The following story by C. Valles illustrates how hurt can disappear when we concentrate the good in others. May you be inspired like I have after reading this story.

Healing A Thousand Wounds

A married couple came to a counselor for advice. No sooner were they seated, than they began speaking at the same time in a duel of criticisms. When they finally stopped for lack of breath, the counselor suggested that now they tell each other all the good they see in one another.

There was total silence.

Then each was given a ball-point pen and a sheet of paper and told to write down something praiseworthy about the other. Neither of them wrote. They both sat and stared at the paper. After what seemed like a long time, the husband started to write something. At once the wife also began to write--fast and furiously. Finally, the writing stopped.

There was silence again.

The wife pushed her paper over to the watching counselor. He pushed it back signaling that she was to give it directly to her husband. She reluctantly shoved the paper halfway across the table. He took it and in turn, slid his paper towards his wife. Each began to read.

The counselor watched...

Soon a tear slid down the cheek of his wife. She crumpled the paper in her fist and held it tight. That proved that she treasured the sudden revelation of good things her husband had expressed about her. The whole atmosphere of the room changed. There was no need for anything to be said. Praise had healed a thousand wounds.

The husband and wife left arm in arm.

Paul Martin Mengucap Syahadah Di Kedai Ais Krim

"Aku menyukai cara para mahasiswa Islam mengatur diri mereka sendiri.

Paul kini main mantap berislam. Apalagi beberapa tahun setelah bersyahadat, ia berkesempatan menunaikan ibadah haji.

Kes Sarbaini: Polis sudah serah A-G laporan siasatan

KUALA LUMPUR, 25 April — Polis sudah menyerahkan laporan siasatan berhubung kematian penolong pengarah Kastam Diraja Malaysia, Ahmad Sarbaini Mohamed di bangunan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) di sini kepada Pejabat Peguam Negara, Jumaat lalu.

Pembelaan Muhyiddin Terhadap Utusan Ternyata Beliau Bapa Rasisma

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 07:23 AM PDT

TPM: Lagi dilarang, lagi nak baca Utusan

Kalau dia nak buat, buatlah. Tetapi saya tidak fikir ini berkesan. Ia tidak akan berkesan sama sekali.

"Lagi orang kata jangan baca, lagi orang hendak baca. (Mereka tertanya-tanya) pasal apa? Takutkah?" katanya.

Pendakwa Terus Menggila: Zakar Dah Masuk Katanya

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 05:45 AM PDT

Pendakwa: 'Yang penting zakar masuk'

When death is a victory

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 04:25 AM PDT

In March 1996, an Islamic terrorist group kidnapped seven French Trappist monks from their remote monastery in Tibhirine, Algeria. They were held for two months, then beheaded. At the heart of this atrocity is a tale of heroic faith, steadfastness, and love, captured in the sublime film Of Gods and Men. It is perhaps the best movie on Christian commitment ever made.

The life of a Trappist monk, devoted to prayer, study, and labor, is not natural cinematic material. Seven times a day he performs the Liturgy of the Hours, singing psalms. At Tibhirine, the monks tended a garden, sold their honey ("Trappist gold"), and served with their Muslim neighbors. The abbot, Christian de Chergé, felt especially called to the latter. John Kiser recounts in his book The Monks of Tibhirine that the brilliant, strong-willed Christian could have become a bishop in France. Instead, he went to the monastery tucked away in the Atlas Mountains, "a beggar of love."

The little band stood as a living Christian witness in an increasingly inhospitable land. "In all Algeria, only in the ultra-traditional Medea," Kiser writes of the monastery's vicinity, "did church bells still ring without offending people." As Algeria descended into a brutish war between the government and Islamist guerrillas in the 1990s, Tibhirine found itself a fragile oasis in a sea of menace. A terrorist group declared war on foreigners. Just two miles from the monastery, extremists slit the throats of foreign workers.

As Kiser writes, Psalm 44 had "acquired an awful reality": "It is for You that we are being massacred all day long, that we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. Awake! Why do you sleep, O Lord?" A local official offered police protection to the monks. They refused — no weapons were allowed in the monastery. He offered to put them up in a hotel. They refused. Failing that, he recommended a long vacation. They refused. Common sense said, "Go," but their devotion to their faith, to their Muslim neighbors, and to one another said, "Stay." They stayed. They revisited their decision together every six months. It never changed, but not without agony: "How far does one go to save his skin without running the risk of losing his soul?" one monk asked in a letter.

"They saw that they had to go forward in their faith, together, a step at a time," Kiser writes. "It was slow, deliberate, and real, this walking together, each bearing alone the reality of his own faith and his own suffering. They developed a powerful sense of inspiration, of not being alone. Yet the awareness of danger was always with them." Christian wrote a last testament well in advance: "If the day comes, and it could be today, that I am a victim of the terrorism that seems to be engulfing all foreigners living in Algeria, I would like my community, my Church, and my family to remember that I have dedicated my life to God and Algeria.

"That they accept that the Lord of all life was not a stranger to this savage kind of departure; that they pray for me, wondering how I found myself worthy of such a sacrifice; that they link in their memory this death of mine with all the other deaths equally violent but forgotten in their anonymity." He thanked everyone, even his prospective murderer: "And to you, too, my friend of the last moment, who will not know what you are doing. Yes, for you, too, I wish this thank-you, this 'A-Dieu,' whose image is in you also, that we may meet in heaven, like happy thieves, if it pleases God, our common Father."

There's no higher praise of Of Gods and Men than that it does justice to the faith of these men. In a scene near the end, the monks listen to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake," laughing and crying together. A terrible fate awaits them. And it feels like victory. — Rich Lowry is editor of National Review. He can be reached via e-mail, © 2011 by King Features Syndicate.

Uncharitable by Andrew C. McCarthy

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 04:17 AM PDT

'In the United States, rules on charitable giving have made it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation," President Obama claimed during his 2009 Cairo speech. "That is why I am committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat."

This statement contained two falsehoods. One, as I've previously detailed, was obvious: There are, in fact, no American laws or rules that make it harder for Muslims to give to charity. What we have are laws against material support of terrorism — against using devices like charitable fronts to channel money to jihadists. Those laws are not directed at Muslims. They apply to everyone but are applied most often to Muslims, because Muslims carry out most anti-American terrorism.

The other falsehood was more subtle: the president's suggestion that the religious obligation of zakat — one of the "five pillars of Islam" — is the equivalent of "charitable giving." It is not. Zakat is every Muslim's obligation to contribute to the fortification of the ummah, the notional worldwide Islamic nation. In full.....from the National Review...

SPA Tidak Profesyenal, Guna Google Translator Untuk Terjemahkan Portal - Cukup Memalukan!

Portal SPA guna Google Translator, Tamil jadi Hindi

-FMT

Air Kencing Unta Cegah Kesan Radiasi Nuklear

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 02:27 AM PDT

Parti Politik Berasaskan Kaum Perlu Diharamkan - Surendran

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 01:27 AM PDT

-MR

1Melayu, 1Chinese and 1Indian Malaysia!

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 11:56 PM PDT

Two rallies are planned at 3pm today to support Utusan and Perkasa over their '1Melayu, 1Bumi' slogan. One at Utusan office in Ipoh and the other at MCA HQ in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.

The slogan drew first blood from MCA and DAP, two Chinese-based of 'different ideology' parties. Malay chauvinism, it seems, is also fast backfiring. Former PM Tun Dr Mahathir said on Saturday the label itself would be a disaster to the nation.

Now, who is right or wrong doesnt matter, not just yet. But the Malay-Chinese confrontation is bringing us back to the era of mid 1940s when our British Colonial master introduced the Malayan Union that could have turned the Malays as beggars in their own homeland.

British idea to award immigrants from China and India with equal citizenship had, for the first time saw the Malays to defy 'politics were the prerogative rights of the royal families' mentality they held for centuries, and launched a massive anti-Malayan Union campaigns throughout the country.

The Malays were the destitute lot then. The Malay Rulers also were part to blame for 'selling' their respective States as British Protectorates. But when the Japanese came, the British abandoned Malaya.

The Malays were doing the right thing then in protecting their legitimate rights as owners of Tanah Melayu. The British, in taking up the Malays for granted, brought in people from China and India to work in their tin mines and rubber estates. The Malays were known to be less interested in such economic activities, except for planting paddy and as fishermen.

These immigrants helped the Malayan economy grow. Their contribution is well-recognised, even by the Malays. And when they were given equal citizenship under the administration of Malayan Union, Malay discontentment was minimal except for those in Umno.

But more than 50 years after Independence, the Malay-Chinese issue flares again. Why are they against each other when the Malays in Umno and Chinese in MCA are buddies in the ruling Barisan Nasional?

Are the Malays to blame for their 'still lagging' position in this country as compared to the Chinese, and perhaps the Indians too? And is it because of the much reduced Chinese votes for BN in previous by-elections and the recently concluded Sarawak state election?

Many said the Chinese will never change since they already have almost everything in the country except political control of the government. But does Umno really dictates Putrajaya? And how are we going to face the next national poll should this time-bomb is not defused by now?

The problems with modern Malaysians now is their thickening prejudice among each other. The post-Independence harmony is fast diminishing. Those were the days when the three major communities helped each other in many ways and aspects. They understood each other well enough.

However, the non-Malays began to grow pessimism over the government's affirmative plan in the 1970s meant to assist the Malays boost their economic standing in a thriving multi-racial nation. They, the non-Malays went to the extent of accusing the indigenous Malays of wanting to rob them of their wealth and high standard of living.

Had the '1Melayu, 1Bumi' slogan was chanted during the Malayan Union and before the immigrants were made citizens of Malaysia, they could have fared better than Umno. However under 1Malaysia concept, we need to admit the fact that we are now one. But again, disparity gap claims its tolls in domestic politics.

Racial tolerant too is making ways to race chauvinism. But are blaming MCA for tailoring to DAP's 'Chinese chauvinism' when Umno and Pas are agreeing to talks on a solidarity government? Are we blaming the Indians as well when Hindraf was formed to the likes of Perkasa and few Chinese-for-Chinese organisations?

Now, what will be the future of the country if a Malay-for-Malay, Chinese-for-Chinese and Indian-for-India politics thrive?

We are so fond of blasting the issue out of context. Had we resorted to the post-Independence and Perikatan concept of 'musyawarah' (consultation), today's bad episode would have been settled amicably.

Another thing. I consider the government failure in containing such chauvinistic activities is also leading to it.

So, whoever wants war, go ahead! You want racial riots, you make the calls!

But who should we blame for all this? The BRITISH?

Chinese enjoy so-called first-class facilities but still second-class citizens!

April 25, 2011 10:48 AM
BUKIT MERTAJAM, April 25 (Bernama) -- Umno is confident the Chinese community in the country, particularly in Penang, will switch their support to the Barisan Nasional (BN) and strengthen Malaysia's ruling coalition, the party's Information Chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said here.

He said it might seem that Chinese support for the BN was on the decline but he believed that this phenomenon would not prolong.

"I believe the Chinese appreciate what the government has done for them and they are among the people who enjoy first-class facilities as the live in the urban areas.

"As such, I am confident and positive that the Chinese will switch their support to the BN because their views and thinking will change (in due course)," he told reporters after the launch of the 1Malaysia Dinner organised by the Batu Kawan Umno Division in Juru here last night.

Ahmad, who is a Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, said the government made available facilities and assistance equally to all the communities in the country.

Saiful Boleh Menjerit Atau Lari, Tetapi Tidak Berbuat Demikian. Kredibilitinya Dipertikaikan.

Posted: 25 Apr 2011 12:05 AM PDT

Peguam: 'Saiful minum kopi, karipap selepas diliwat'

"Mahkamah mesti meneliti kredibiliti setiap saksi pendakwa," tambahnya

Let's stick to facts in the Altantuya-murder and subs deal

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 10:05 PM PDT

These are the INDISPUTABLE facts as we know them. So let's stick to them, i.e. the FACTS.
1. Sometime after 2000 when Najib Tun Razak (now Prime Minister) was re-appointed Defence Minister, the Malaysian Government/Ministry of Defence awarded a contract for the purchase of 2 Scorpene Class Submarines to French DCNS naval shipbuilders, through Armaris in partnership with Navantia of Spain, both state owned companies.
2. The cost of the contract which has now been fulfilled, is estimated at RM6.7 billion (exchange rate 1 Euro=RM5) as follows:

* Submarines-Euro 969,000,000 =RM4,845,000,000
* Missiles etc-Euro 257,000,000 =RM1,270.000,000
* Co-ordination & Support Service Fees Euro114,000,000 =RM 570,000,000
3. The co-ordination and support service fees were paid to Perimekar S/B, a Malaysian company originally owned and controlled by Razak Baginda and his wife, magistrate Mazalinda through Ombak Laut S/B, and which was subsequently divested to Boustead Holdings Bhd Plc (BHB). Baginda was head of a Government sponsored think-tank and a close advisor and friend of Najib. The Government, MINDEF, Navy and a Public Accounts Committee inquiry have determined that all proper Government procurement rules, regulations and procedures were adhered to in the award of the contract to Baginda and that it was NOT a Commission.
4. Perimekar was only incorporated in 2001 shortly before the submarine contract was finalised.
5. It is now claimed by some parties that the fees were paid to Perimekar by the Malaysian Government and not by DCNS.
6. The cost of the submarines does not include an annual maintenance contract of RM50 million for 10 years recently awarded to BousteadDCNS, a subsidiary of BHB OR a 20-year escape, search and rescue contract estimated at RM100 million per year i.e. RM 2 billion over 20 years!
7. Allegations about Perimekar and Boustead's qualification and ability to undertake and perform these massive contracts have been questioned as a sham arrangement by Joseph Breham from a team of French lawyers, as well as by French MP's and politicians who have filed an inquiry with French courts over charges that DCNS indulged in bribery and paid out huge (illegal) kickbacks routinely in such submarine construction and sales contracts. CLICK HERE . DCNS has been fined hundreds of millions of dollars for such irregularities in Taiwan, Pakistan and USA.
8. In 2006 the remains of a Mongolian national, ex-model and translator, Altantuya Shaarribuu, were found in a forest in Shah Alam, Selangor. She had apparently been shot through the head and her body blown up with plastic C4 explosives.
9. Following police investigations, Razak Baginda and two others, Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri, 30, and Corporal Sirul Azahar Umar,35, from the Unit Tindakan Khas or Malaysian Special Action Force Counter Terrorism Unit, were charged with Altantuya's murder. Azilah and Sirul had both been assigned to PM Najib's (deputy PM at the time of the murder) office as his bodyguards.

10. Testimony in court revealed that Altantuya had accompanied Baginda on several trips to France, had an affair with him and arrived in KL demanding US$500,000 from Baginda or threatened to tell all. Baginda was harassed at his home and office by Altantuya and her sisters.
11. Aide-De-Camp to PM Najib, Musa Safri was apparently the officer who had called the three cops who carted Altantuya away in their squad car from outside Razak Baginda's home.
10. Spotted also outside the gates of Baginda's house in his car shortly before Altantuya left in the company of Azilah, Sirul and Lance Corporal Rohaniza (Sirul's lover) was Nasir Safar, a long-time special aide to Najib Razak who in 2010 was forced to resign his post (although to his credit he issued an apology) after making a racist speech about Indians coming to Malaysia as beggars and the Chinese, especially the women, coming here to sell their bodies.
12. At the trial which stretched from June 2007 to April 2009, the following were determined:
* Azilah testified that it was Musa Safri who asked him to contact Baginda to help him out with a "problem."
* Sirul's confession that he and Azilah were offered RM100,000 to "take care" of Altantuya and other revelations were not allowed to be admitted into evidence by the presiding judge. Neither Azilah nor Azilah testified as to who made the offer to them.
* Azilah and Sirul maintained till the end they did not kill Altantuya.
* Altantuya's sister had testified that records of their visit to Malaysia had been erased by Malaysian Immigration and she had seen a photograph of PM Najib, Razak, Altantuya and others having lunch in Paris. PM Najib subsequently took an Islamic oath that he had never met Altantuya personally.
* Razak Baginda, whose lawyer read out an opening statement in which Baginda admitted to the affair with Altantuya, claimed he did not order Altantuya's murder or have anything to do with it. During a break in the hearing, Baginda had gone berserk shouting 'Die Pak Lah (M'sian PM up to April 2009) fuelling speculation that some sort of deal was being worked out behind the scenes.
* Baginda was found innocent and acquitted of all charges without his defence being called.
* Azilah and Sirul were found guilty of murder and sentenced to death by hanging. The matter is still pending finality as their appeals against conviction have not been heard.
13. Subsequently, an ex-cop and private investigator, PI Bala, engaged earlier by Baginda to assist and protect him from the blackmailing Altantuya tendered a Statutory Declaration at a press conference claiming, among other matters, that Baginda had told him PM Najib had introduced Altantuya to him and that Musa Safri was fully implicated in Altantuya's disappearance. Following a visit to the Brickfields Police Station that same evening Bala completely withdrew his first SD the next morning by the device of a second SD denying all earlier allegations. Shortly afterwards, he then fled to India with his family amid swirling rumours he had been paid $5 million to retract his incendiary original SD after negotiations with parties (friends) purportedly linked to PM Najib's wife and one of Najib's brothers acting as intermediaries.
14. Then Bala followed up from somewhere overseas with a third SD and information claiming he had only been paid some RM800,000, been cheated of the rest and that his first SD was the true one which he had been coerced into withdrawing under duress!
15. Next, a weeks ago, "Pete" Raja Petra Kamaruddin, who set the nation on fire with his original 2008 posting at "Let's Send The Altantuya Murderers To Hell" cleared up the misunderstanding that he had accused PM Najib and his wife of direct complicity in Altantuya's killing in an interview with TV3. Clearly his SD opens with "I have reliably been informed..." which means it was based on hearsay from third parties. But the MSM, many bloggers, web surfers and even the police read what they wanted to read. Pete who was forced into exile in 2009 is now being vilified for his naivete in granting the interview which TV3 chose to air a day before elections in Sarawak and accused of "selling out" to the UMNO/BN Government led by PM Najib.
That's it in a nutshell!
So, here are some questions that have been plaguing not just me, but I dare say, millions, and not just Malaysians alone:
1. Why were and still appear to be so, the police and AG not keen on finding out who gave the orders to kill Altantuya and establish clearly the motive(s) for her murder?
2. Why didn't the AG appeal the acquittal of Razak Baginda as is the usual case with such prosecutions? The judge may have presumed that there was no case for Baginda to answer, but what does the AG say about the well put question "you mean two cops woke up one fine morning and decided to off a previously unknown to them Mongolian lady with C4 explosives, just like that?"
3. What was Razak Baginda's experience and track record in defence and submarine procurement and maintenance that he should have been awarded a RM 570 million "co-ordination and support service fee"? Was it by open tender?
4. What were the scope of these "services" and when and how were the "services" performed and fulfilled?
5. Why was the payment of RM 570 million made IN FULL BEFORE the two Scorpene Submarines were delivered in recent years?
6. In the wake of massive evidence that DCNS has been involved in bribery and huge kickbacks in sham deals, why hasn't our MACC and police advanced with swift investigations in Malaysia?
7. Why has the impression been given to Malaysian citizens that at the trial, the DPP AND the defence worked in concert to avoid any mention of any link between Altantuya and PM Najib? It's just a perception, but it's surely there!
8. What was Razak Baginda's outburst and threat against ex-PM Abdullah Badawi all about?
9. Who normally has access to C4 explosives in Malaysia?
10. Have any investigations been undertaken to verify if immigration records were indeed erased, and if so, what is the outcome, please? If it is true, who ordered it and with what intention?
11. Who "advised" PI Bala into withdrawing his first SD at Brickfields Police Station?
12. What were the involvement of Musa Safri, who was never called as a witness in the trial, and Nasir Safar in the events leading to Altantuya being spirited away from outside Razak Baginda's home?
13. A couple of blogs have published purported transcripts of handphone conversations between PM Najib and Razak Baginda's lawyer. Aren't the police interested in investigating this matter?
I ask these questions not as a kind of cyber Taliban hell bent on tarnishing the good name of our Government and its leaders, but that the resolution of wicked, wanton premeditated murder cannot and must not be mired in continual perception of a MASSIVE COVER UP and that someone got away with bloody murder!
We are tired, no exhausted, by the breathtaking scale of fraud, thievery, embezzlement and looting for which accountability and equally important, prosecution and recovery seem to be nil. More cover ups seem to be in in progress with $12 billion free trade zone ponzi schemes and suspect awards of multi-billion dollar defence contracts for jet planes, helicopters, armoured-wheeled patrol tanks, offshore patrol boats and ships and the like as well other Government and GLC linked procurement involving buses, trains, aircrafts and contracts for construction of bridges, building and directly negotiated property development projects involving Government land.
We are puzzled by vague $10 billion property development projects and $36 billion MRT projects ballooning to a hastily revised $50 billion within a month being sold to us though we are talking about confetti and cornflakes. Broken and bust public listed companies linked to provision of "free lunch" services all sound like the same spindoctor driven bulldozing techniques of authoritarian regimes elsewhere. We are aghast at radiation spewing rare earth projects finding their way to our shores while rejected without a moment's hesitation by the home country of its proponents, Australia!!
So, increasingly, instead of consulting and consensus we see pretence and spindoctoring. Thus "We are the market leader in Malaysia in Identity verification with over 170 organisation..." Wow, really? Why then has this Plc accumulated losses of nearly $17 million from mainly servicing Government departments and been placed on its de-listing roll call by the KLSE? Invested in R&D without first working out marketing strategies and projecting sales revenues on a reasonable basis first? Is this how Plc's in Malaysia normally work? More spin? In reality, unless the EPF and Government Departments are not strong-armed, they have no reason whatsoever to channel this monopolistic business to a financially and management-wise suspect outsourcing outfits or need to when their own IT Departments can provide the same service if needs be, maintain strict confidentiality and security, and still save oodles of internal overhead costs even more, do they? It sure as hell looks like, smells like and feels like a Government bailout, possibly with elements of nepotism and cronyism thrown in. Three other large shareholders in this Plc are CIMB through Commerce Tech Ventures Bhd (15.45%), Maybank through Mayban Venture Capital Company S/B (9.52%) and Heitech Padu S/B (5.86% of which 23.77% is owned by PNB). Of course, the Drivers will deny it. But why then was a Government Department involved in calling for and assessing tenders if it was "a wholly private sector initiative"?
So, yes PM Najib, shall we call for another Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to resolve once and for all the ALTANTUYA DEBACLE? Even here we have severe doubts. The findings and recommendations of two successive RCI's in 2008/09, the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) and The Lingam Tapes Inquiry, have not been acted by Government under you, which surely places our King in an embarrassing position. The impression given is that they will NEVER be acted upon by your Government! So, how dare we hope the establishment will take the bull by the horns over Altantuya?
If parenthood is all about being proper role models to our children and leaving behind a sound and lasting legacy, then Governing a nation is about securing agreement for moving forward through consensus. Oh yes, LKY and Dr.Mahathir do not much believe in genuine consultation and consensus because they feel the mass of their people don't have the intelligence to deserve to be consulted and that, anyway, they are all Communists hell bent on destroying progress.
But most like me in Malaysia are not. We are not Communists, racists or religious bigots hell bent on destroying anything other than ignorance, racism, religious bigotry, forced social polarization and the development of a totalitarian state.
So, yes PM Najib, are you game for genuine reforms and justice or will it continue with one set of rules for others and another set for "ONE OF US"? -

Another talk & exhibition

Posted: 24 Apr 2011 10:02 PM PDT

After last week's exhibition booth in Chenderong, I was busy running around like a headless chicken (hmmm…headless chickens should be dead, shouldn't they? How come they still run around?) doing…. errr…. hmmm…. doing what eh? Well, there were meetings to attend and there was another exhibition we had to prepare for, this time I was to give them a talk as well.

Anyway,  a call came in from a youth club, asking me if they could borrow our exhibition materials and if one of us could help them out with an AIDS Awareness Programme on Saturday 23rd April 2011. This time I couldn't help them. I needed my volunteers and materials for our own booth during the UniKL-RCMP Open Day on the very same day.

Since the exhibition was a whole day function, we got our volunteers to take turns. There were supposed to be 3 shifts… 9-12, 12-3 and 3-6. Since I needed to give a talk at 2 pm, I took the morning shift. So I loaded all the exhibition materials in my car by Friday.

I got to RCMP about 8.40 am, and with none of the other volunteers in sight, I had to actually unload the things alone. But thank goodness the staff from RCMP helped me out to unload the stuff before I drove out to park my car. I couldn't park the car at their usual parking space as the space was used for the various booths.

Luckily one of our trainee volunteers works at RCMP and so she was around to help me set up the booth, together with our part-time staff who was actually there to man another booth. 2 other volunteers were supposed to be in the morning shift with me. One came at 9.20am, after all the posters etc had already been put up; while the other one, who didn't turn up at all, called me at 1 pm, asking, "Exhibition tu hari ni ke esok?" Duh!

5 volunteers were supposed to be on the 2nd shift. 1 said he'd be late, and 2 just informed me last minute to say they couldn't make it. Well, the one who said he'd be late got lost and never made it. As for the 3rd shift, only 1 turned up. Luckily one of the volunteers from the 2nd shift stayed on to the 3rd shift. But he's a handicapped person, and so he couldn't help to pack up and load the things into my car at the end of the day. So yeah, out of the total 11 volunteers who gave their names to help out at the booth, only 5 turned up. Sigh…

Anyway, the response from those who attended the Open Day, especially from the students, were quite good. Some came over to ask questions about what we do and about HIV/AIDS in general. There was however, one guy (a senior staff at the college I think) who was quite sceptical when he found out I didn't have any medical background.

"You ni doctor ke?"

"No, I'm not."

"Then I shouldn't be talking to you, should I?"

As a matter of fact he didn't believe me when I said ARV drugs are given out free for the first regime to all Malaysians.

"Mana boleh free. Kalau ibu mengandung ada HIV, then yes they are given free treatment. Yang lain if they're not government servants, mana dapat free."

I didn't want to waste my time arguing with him, so, tak nak percaya sudah

As for the talk in the afternoon, it was opened to the public, but not many attended. I think the time itself ie at 2 pm was not an ideal time for people to want to listen to talks and lectures. But the show had to go on, and those who did attend were those really interested to know more. I didn't touch just on the basics of HIV/AIDS. To me what was important was to share the real happenings out there amongst the PLHIV and their families. The lady in charge later approached me indicating her interest to call us for another talk, this time with a specific target group, like the nursing students (I had earlier given examples how a few nurses did things they shouldn't have done when dealing with PLHIV).

On the whole, I think the exhibition/talk was a success.

Tomorrow I will be going to Taiping Hospital for my clinic duty, on Wednesday clinic duty in Ipoh and then on Friday will be the PLHIV gathering…

Mujur AC MIzal Pilih UMNO, Bukan Pakatan

Sekarang biarlah UMNO tanggung.
