Egyptians don't recognise Kem David anymore

Egyptians don't recognise Kem David anymore

Egyptians don't recognise Kem David anymore

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 10:25 AM PDT

Now that Hosni Mubarak is gone, most Egyptians would like to void the Kem David Accords signed in 1979. A recent US polls show that more than half of them also felt Israel Embassy should leave their soil.

However, the research by the US Pew Research Center indicates 36 per cent of Egyptians believe the peace treaty with Israel should remain in effect.

A whopping two thirds of Egyptians are happy with the country's progress following the ouster of longtime president Hosni Mubarak, the poll says. The results were based on interviews with thousands of Egyptians between March 24 and April 7.

The poll also marks a ten per cent hike in support for democracy since a similar survey was taken last year.

About 88 per cent said that the Egyptian army, the recipient of power after the former regime's downfall, has had a positive impact in the country's functioning.

But there was mixed opinion about police, as 61 per cent said they believe that police have had a negative impact regarding legislation. Around 60 per cent said they believe that law should be based on the Quran.

The revolution which overthrew Mubarak apparently did not curb the country's negative view of the United States. The poll says that 70 per cent of Egyptians believe Washington played a negative role or had no role at all during the country's political turnover.

Barack Obama has also maintained a negative image, as 64 per cent said they don't trust him, and 52 per cent were disappointed in how he has dealt with Arab revolutions sweeping the Mideast.

The Rain

Live with laughter and love with all your heart.......Thanks to Freddie who sent me this beautiful post. Have a nice day, everyone!

The Rain

It was a busy
Morning, about 8:30, when an elderly

Gentleman in his 80's arrived to have
Stitches removed from his thumb.

He said he was in a hurry as he had an
Appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital
Signs and had him take a seat,

Knowing it would be over an hour

Before someone
Would to able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch and

Decided, since I
Was not busy with another patient,

I would evaluate his wound.

On exam, it was
Well healed, so I talked to one of the

Doctors, got the needed supplies to
Remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of
His wound, I asked him if he

Had another doctor's appointment

This morning, as
He was in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no, that he

Needed to go to
The nursing home to eat breakfast

With his wife. I inquired as to her
Health.

He told me that she had been there
For a while and that she

Was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we
Talked, I asked if she would be

Upset if he was a bit late.

He
Replied that she no longer knew

Who he was, that she had not

Recognized him in
Five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him,

'And you still go every
Morning, even though she

Doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he
Patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't
Know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back
Tears as he left, I had goose bumps

On my arm, and thought,

'That is
The kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is
Neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an
Acceptance of all that is,

Has been, will be, and will not
Be.

With all the jokes
And fun that are in e-mails,

Sometimes there is one that comes

Along that has an
Important message..

This one I thought I could share with you.

The
Happiest people don't necessarily

Have the best of everything;

They just make
The best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you
Care about. I just did..

'Life isn't about
How to survive the storm,
But how to dance

In the rain.'

We are all getting older

Tomorrow may be our turn.

iPad 2 release in Asia this week

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 09:11 AM PDT

iPad 2Apple has just announced that iPad 2, the second generation of its popular tablet PC device, will be on sale in Asia this week.

The iPad 2 will be on sale in Japan on April 28, and Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE on April 29.

Set aside Japan, iPad 2 is arriving in Asia sooner than expected. The original iPad went on sale in limited Asian countries, and it's only available in Malaysia more than half a year since it was launched. People do foresee that it's going to come earlier this time, but probably not THAT early.

The sales should go crazy in a few places, with people lining up hours to get the product first hand. It's one human nature which I cannot understand… I mean, what's the rush? We can always get it a week or two later, even if it's out of stock temporarily.

Suggested retail price for the iPad 2 with Wi-Fi model – US$499 for the 16GB model, $599 for 32GB, and $699 for 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G suggested retail price – $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB, and $829 for 64GB.

Albert Einstein channels Mourinho

"I am looking at you, Jose"

Yesterday:

Mourinho said: "I told my players there was someone called Albert, Albert Einstein, who said that there is a force more powerful than steam, electricity and atomic energy - will. And this guy Albert was not stupid.''

Today, the world's foremost genius shot back saying he had based his theory of special relativity on Jose Mourinho. He observed that "neither absolute defeat nor the absolute lack of winning can exist when Mourinho is the manager, it is constant, even when clubs and players are interchanged. Because he takes out all the air."

Einstein proved that neither absolute motion nor absolute lack of motion could exist, because the speed of light in a vacuum is constant, to all observers, and mass and energy are interchangeable--hence the formula, E=mc2 (96-97).

The Special One and the Special Theory of Relativity. It's really not that much of a stretch.

Berita Harian edisi 21 April 2011 menyiarkan satu berita di bawah tajuk:

Sepadan Anwar: Agensi penyiaran Korea Selatan guna proses biometrik analisis video seks

Clearer shots from 2nd snippet of sex video vindicates Anwar
Written by Sheela Sri Jaya, Malaysia Chronicle

Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahima nd his family must feel vindicated when the second snippet of the sex video implicating him hit the Internet on Wednesday. This time, the shots of the man said to resemble Anwar was clearer and it is now evident it could not have been him.

Not only was the physique of the broad-shouldered man much bulkier than the slim and fragile 63-year old Anwar, a shot that showed part of his face gave away the plot.

The facial features were different, the cheeks were too puffy and the man's neck was too thick, with rolls of flesh not evident in Anwar's. Only the hairline was similar.

The 1.46-minute snippet of the 21-minute video was entitled Papa Nurul Izzah Part II. It was uploaded at 1.30pm on YouTube but has since been removed for its sexual content.

It is believed the clip shows the final portion of the tape. The man was captured putting on his trousers.

The first snippet was released on April 4, two days before nominations for the Sarawak state elections were held. That clip has also been removed by YouTube.

The sex video fiasco hit the nation on the same day the Sarawak legislative assembly was dissolved, paving the way for the state's 10th election.

However, prompt checking by PKR investigators revealed that the hotel conference room used by the Datuk T trio who 'discovered' the tape had been booked by aides of former Malacca chief minister Rahim Thambi Chik and the bill paid by Perkasa treasurer Shauib Lazim.

That forced the trio who included business Shazryl Eskay Abdullah to confess they were behind the pornographic screening at the Carcosa Seri Negara hotel, which is illegal in Malaysia and punishable with jail terms of up to 5 years.

The three men said they wanted to expose Anwar's unsuitability to be prime minister and demanded his resignation within a week. They had shown the tape to selected journalists and PKR elected representatives, whom they urged to defect to the BN.

Despite the public confession and the breach of the law, the police have delayed charging the men or making any arrests. Instead, they have called on Shazryl to furnish his DNA, prompting speculation that the move was aimed to pressure Anwar into giving his DNA as well.

Anwar has denied involvement in the video. Speculation is rife that his political nemesis Prime Minister Najib Razak and the Umno elite had hatched the conspiracy to discredit him.

"I don't see why they want his DNA. The police should just focus on the part where the law has been broken which is the screening of the pornographic material in public," PKR vice president N Surendran told Malaysia Chronicle.

"Who are the police really serving – the Malaysian nation and public by punishing crimes and upholding the rule of law or the Barisan Nasional/UMNO political masters to dance to their latest tune to use the police to plumb to the lowest dregs of gutter politics in the history of Malaysia?" asked DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang in a statement to the media. -malaysianindian1.blogspot.com

As expected, PKR rallied around its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim as the latest snippet from a "sex video" allegedly involving him was posted on YouTube today, with his family in the frontline.

PKR vice-president and Anwar's eldest daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar, maintained that the person in the video is not her father, saying, "My family and I stand firmly with Anwar Ibrahim, and we maintain that the actor is not Anwar.

In a text message to Malaysiakini, Nurul Izzah said, "This latest, most disgusting effort is an attempt to destroy our fighting spirit and derail reforms so desperately needed in this nation. We shall not bow to nor be cowed by such tactics."

Of clinic duties, gathering and running for charity

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 07:09 AM PDT

It had been quite a while since I last went to Taiping hospital for my clinic duty. The last time was last year I think. I was supposed to be on duty in January, but due to some urgent family matters, I had to cancel at the very last minute without being able to find a replacement.

Yesterday I was on duty again, and this time one of the trainee volunteers finally came along with me. We have a few teams, all with 2 members in each team, except me. I purposely didn't put any specific "partner" with me so that any of the trainees could join me. But, despite telling the trainees time and again that they could join me during my clinic duty for their "hands-on" training, for the past few months, none of them took up my offer. So it was good that one of them finally took up the offer yesterday.

I fetched the trainee volunteer at our center, then off we headed to Taiping. Just as I opened the door to the doctor's room to inform the nurse that we were already there, I heard the doctor asking the nurse, "Buddies tak mai ka hari ni?" (the doc's a Chinese but when she speaks Malay, she speaks more of the northern dialect) and the nurse just answered, "Tu ha!"

Both the trainee volunteer and I then waited at the make-shift counselling room. We waited and waited and waited… but no cases were referred. So I went over to the doctor's room to ask the nurse and to my surprise she said, "Buat masa ni belum ada yang lain, yang tadi tu je satu."

"Yang tadi?" I asked. "Takde siapa datang pun!"

The nurse had told the patient to see me after seeing the doctor and taking his medication from the pharmacist. But I guess after taking his ARV, he simply left.

We just ended up meeting one client, whose case had already been referred to us last month, and who came just to pass us some supporting documents to enable us to help her apply for financial assistance for her children. So the trainee volunteer didn't really learn anything much from this trip. By noon, we left and had lunch at a restaurant nearby; and by 1.30 pm, we were already back in Ipoh.

Today, I was on clinic duty at Ipoh GH, and again, the same trainee agreed to join me. This time we had one case referred to us. A lady on wheelchair was pushed in by a guy and a young lady with a small child tagged along as well.

Apparently this lady was diagnosed HIV+ when she was warded for some stomach problems recently. After she was diagnosed +ve, her husband was also sent for blood test, and he too was confirmed +ve. I'm not sure if they were hiding anything, but according to the husband, they suspect the wife may have been infected during a blood transfusion which took place when she gave birth to their youngest child, now 15 years old. Their daughter who was also in the room with us, then said that her youngest sibling falls ill quite often.

I don't know how true it is, but I told them to get the youngest child to be tested for HIV just to be sure. The couple has 7 children altogether.

Anyway, after finalising some matters with the staff nurse about this Friday's PLHIV gathering, today I left quite early.

Later, after lunch and zohor, I headed over to the center… there were quite a number of calls I needed to make… to confirm with my clients if they're coming for the gathering, and to inform them of the exact venue. As always, there were a few who had confirmed attendance earlier, pulled out for whatever reasons.

I also had to call Sofie and Fuzi – I have registered their children for a leadership camp this weekend, and I needed to confirm if they have everything necessary to bring along for camping. Amongst the items in the list of things to bring include 2 pairs of sports shoes. As I had suspected, both Sofie's sons and Fuzi's daughter didn't have any. All they have is a pair of school shoes. So I told Sofie and Fuzi to buy a pair each and I'd reimburse them with the money when I see them for the gathering this Friday. I will pick the children from their homes this Saturday morning and send them to the office of the organisers where they are supposed to meet up before the bus takes them to the campsite.

By the way, this year again Buddies will be taking part in the Ekiden Run for Charity event, and yours truly will be running (or jogging or even partly walking) to raise funds for my HIV families. This time there will be 4 runners in a team and each of us need to run 3 km (compared to last year's 2 km). Initially we had 3 runners from Buddies (actually 2 proper runners… this orang tua just volunteered so we can raise more funds), and so I told one of them who regularly takes part in runs, to find any of his friends willing to run for Buddies. In other words, to get us an "import" runner. My colleague managed to get one.

Then today the other colleague who's supposed to represent Buddies, told me that the coach from her club had already submitted her name to represent the club instead, so she won't be able to represent Buddies. Oh dear, that meant I'd need to look for another runner to represent Buddies. Definitely none of the other volunteers so I finally decided to call Fuzi to ask if her eldest daughter would like to participate. You see, the girl, Wina, 16, always take part in long distance runs at her school and according to Fuzi, is even eager to join various runs but they simply couldn't afford to send the girl here and there to participate. I told Fuzi I'd fetch Wina at home if she's willing to run for Buddies. So that settled it…. I hope…

Now I just need to make sure I keep myself fit enough to be able to complete the whole 3 km. To "test power", this weekend I plan to go "back to school" and play for our under-60 hockey team against the present students' under 17 team… :)

Please pray that I'll survive…

RM600,000 just for signs?

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 05:57 AM PDT

The Malaysian Insider reported HERE that:

The Selangor state executive council today approved a RM600,000 allocation to erect 56 "Save Malaysia Campaign: Abolish ISA" billboards across the state.

In a statement, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said the billboards will be placed at strategic locations in all 56 state seats in Selangor and are estimated to be ready within two months.

"The resolution to erect the billboards was approved by the state executive council during its meeting on April 1," he told a media conference today.

Funds for the project, he added, would be channelled to Mentri Besar Incorporated (MBI) from the Akaun Amanah Penswastaan fund.

Khalid also gave assurance that the billboard installation will be carried out via open tender, soon to be advertised in all major dailies.

He said the project was in line with the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) government's intention to implement an overall transformation in all aspects of its administration.

"It is also in tandem with the second part of the PR's 100-day reform promise, which is to abolish the ISA," he said.

What a waste of money!!!

Spending all that money is no guarantee that the ISA will be abolished! That sum of money can be put to better use for projects that can directly benefit the rakyat.

Read more about the ISA HERE to understand why it was introduced and how difficult it has been to abolish that draconian law.

Khir Toyo: '1Melayu, 1Bumi' not racist

By Yow Hong Chieh
April 27, 2011

Dr Khir: I always wonder why when Malays speak of their native rights it is seen as racist but not when the Chinese speak of their Chinese schools, Chinese language and Chinese economic power.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 — The "1Melayu, 1Bumi" movement is not racist for wanting to unify Malays politically, Dr Khir Toyo has said. Calling the movement spearheaded by Malay rights group Perkasa as "legitimate and noble", the former Selangor mentri besar questioned why Malays were seen as racist when speaking of Malay unity while other races could speak of their respective unity without objection from the Malays.
"I always wonder why when Malays speak of their native rights it is seen as racist but not when the Chinese speak of their Chinese schools, Chinese language and Chinese economic power," he said on his blog yesterday.
Dr Khir said it was not wrong or racist for Malays to propose a concept like "1Melayu, 1Bumi" as a response to Chinese voters who increasingly voted for opposition parties like the DAP.
He pointed out that Malays saw Chinese support for DAP's "anti-everything to do with Bumiputeras and Islam" policies as a clear indication that the community now want more political power after successfully controlling the economy.
"Many non-Chinese, especially the Bumiputera, see Chinese support for Pakatan (Rakyat) as support for the empowerment of Chinese political power through the Democratic Action Party (DAP) to erode and eventually eliminate Bumiputera privileges provisioned in the Malaysian Constitution," he said.
Dr Khir, however, warned that "1Melayu, 1Bumi" should be opposed "to the very end" if it was a racist movement that wished to unify Bumiputeras for the purpose of "oppressing and destroying" the Chinese.
"I, myself, will not agree to any concept that oppresses and destroys other races' standing," the Selangor opposition leader said.
He added that whether the concept, first mooted in Utusan Malaysia by assistant chief editor Datuk Zaini Hassan, was racist depended on its execution, demands and wants.
Utusan Malaysia had called on its owners Umno to spearhead a "1Melayu, 1Bumi" movement involving all Malay parties, claiming that the DAP was intent on toppling the country's Malay leadership.
Former prime minister and Perkasa patron Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad spoke out against the idea, saying it would be "disastrous" if it came to fruition.
The elder statesman said such a movement would eventually result in a two-party system dominated by the Malays and the Chinese on opposing sides of the divide.
Despite their patron's statement, Perkasa has said it would be willing to lead such a "1Melayu, 1 Bumi" movement.
Some government leaders had sought to distance themselves from Utusan Malaysia's clarion call last week, claiming it was the personal opinion of the newspaper's editors.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak assured that the Malay-language daily would not deter the government's commitment to his 1 Malaysia brainchild.

Is Democracy not a form of government in which all citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives?

In short, a democracy is 'a government of the people, for the people, by the people'.

The people has the right to vote the government or party of their choice and BN is neither THE choice nor the ONLY choice.

Video Seks Bahagian Kedua Muncul Di Internet

-mstar

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 04:36 AM PDT

The French temporal expressions depuis and il y a have distinctly different meanings and uses, yet they often present difficulties for French students. Here is a detailed explanation and comparison of depuis and il y a to help you clearly understand the difference once and for all.

Depuis, meaning "for" or "since," can be used in the present or past in order to express an action that began in the past and continued to the temporal reference point used in the sentence, which can be the present or some point in the past. Depuis is thus used for actions that were incomplete at the referenced time, and can refer to two different kinds of time:

1) When followed by a period of time, depuis indicates the duration of an action and is equivalent to "have been + -ing (perfect progressive) + for"*

Nous attendons depuis une heure.
We've been waiting for an hour.

Il parle depuis 5 minutes.
He's been speaking for 5 minutes.

He'd been working for 10 days when I saw him.

2) When followed by an event or point in time, depuis indicates the start time of an action and is translated in English by "have + -en/-ed (perfect tense) + since/for"

Je suis malade depuis mon arrivée.
I've been sick since I got here.

He had been angry since the announcement, but now...

Depuis hier, je suis déprimée.
I've been depressed since yesterday.

Il ne fume pas depuis un an.
He hasn't smoked for a year.

Il y a means "ago" and can only be used for things that are already completed. The verb in the sentence must be in the past and il y a must be followed by some reference to time.**

I arrived an hour ago.

Il a parlé il y a 5 minutes.
He spoke 5 minutes ago.

Il a travaillé il y a 10 jours.
He worked 10 days ago.

I was sick a week ago.

Il y a deux jours, j'ai vu un chat noir.
Two days ago, I saw a black cat.

I moved here a long time ago.

*Il y a ... que, ça fait ... que , and voilà ... que are informal equivalents for the first use of depuis - they mean to have been doing something for a certain amount of time.

Il y a cinq ans que j'habite ici.
I've been living here for five years.

Ça fait deux heures que nous attendons.
We've been waiting for two hours.

I've been working with Marc for six months.

**Voilà can also replace il y a, informally.
d
Il est parti voilà deux heures.
He left two hours ago.

Nampaknya penggunaan Bahasa Melayu semakin kelam kabut.

Posted: 27 Apr 2011 02:30 AM PDT

Khutbah kita makin canggih, guna multimedia.

(It is not a bad thing, it is halal) Entahlah, saya tak ada title Doktor.

Every 15 minutes, a Muslim couple gets divorced in Malaysia
Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: An otherwise mundane Dewan Negara question and answer session was lightened up during a query on divorce cases among Malaysian Muslims.

Datuk Fatimah Hamat was the first to raise eyebrows across the senate hall when revealing that in every 15 minutes a Muslim couple gets divorced in the country.

"These statistics are shocking," said Fatimah.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Mashitah Ibrahim, however, begged to differ, claiming divorce cases were "not a bad thing".

"We should not be shocked by the statistics. It is not a bad thing, it is halal," said Mashitah, whose ministry portfolio is Islamic affairs.

"Divorce is actually the solution to a troubled marriage. It happens to all groups people, be it the educated, the uneducated and even professionals."
