Bebaskan Tahanan ISA & Ordinan Darurat Dan Bawa Penyeksa Ke Muka Pengadilan - GMI

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 09:48 AM PDT

-hd

Aakash – world’s cheapest tablet

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 08:18 AM PDT

India Aakash world cheapest tablet computerIndia has launched what it dubbed as the world's cheapest tablet computer on Wednesday, to be sold to students at a subsidized price of US$35 and later in shops for about $60.

The touch-screen device, called Aakash, or "sky" in Hindi, is currently assembled by a British company. A pilot run of 100,000 units will be given to students for free, with the first 500 handed out at the launch to a mixed response. Image by Parivartan Sharma, more details on Reuters.

Very little technical information is available beside the fact that it's running on Android. And speaking of "cheapest", India also wowed the world in 2008 with Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car, which is doing pretty well domestically. What you pay is what you get; but there's always demand for cheap (and relatively low quality) stuff.

Ops Lalang: Pemuda UMNO Punya Pasal, Pemimpin Pembangkang Yang Kena Tahan

Ops Lalang: Dewan Rakyat Kecoh

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Okt: Naib Presiden PAS, Datuk Mahfuz Omar mencabar kerajaan khususnya ahli Parlimen Pasir Salak, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman mendakwanya di mahkamah jika mendapati beliau mengeluarkan kenyataan menghasut.

-HD

First the exhibition, then the conference…

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 07:33 AM PDT

Been busy for the past five days. Over the weekend there was the awareness campaign in Kg Ulu Geroh, an Orang Asli village in Gopeng. It was in conjunction with the National Law Awareness Week, organised by the Perak Bar Committee.

I had to go there on Saturday, to set up our booth, and then again on Sunday, for the campaign itself. Although Gopeng itself is not that far from Ipoh (usually just about 20 minutes drive to Gopeng toll), we had to take another 40 minutes or so from Gopeng town to the kampong itself although it was less than 10 kilometres in. And although we did see a few cars going in and out of the place, it was more advisable to use 4 wheel drives.

We Buddies had always depended on the personal vehicles of the volunteers to go anywhere. But none of us had any 4 wheel drives. However, lucky for us, we were sharing a booth with the Perak Family Health Association, and they had a Pajero! The lady who was to represent PFHA at the booth, is only used to drive the Pajero in town, didn't dare drive on the terrain heading to Kg Ulu Geroh, and she needed someone else to drive the Pajero for her. So it was a fair deal. PFHA provided the 4WD, and Buddies provided the driver! Yours truly had actually never driven a Pajero before, whether on smooth tarred roads or on uneven grounds, but being some sort of a daredevil, volunteered to drive anyway. And made it we did!

3 Orang Asli "Cetak Rompak"

Early Monday morning, I was again out of the house when it was still dark. This time to drive (back in my auto Kenari) to Penang for the 2nd National Aids Conference in Equatorial Hotel, Penang. It rained all the way, but although it was a rather smooth drive from Ipoh to Juru toll, the jam started as we were about to get onto the Penang bridge.

Anyway, I learnt a lot during the 3 day conference, particularly on the latest updates related to HIV/AIDS, and I am hoping to organise one session for my fellow volunteers to update them with the knowledge I gained during the conference. I think many of my volunteers are quite "outdated" in a way… they'd better equip themselves with more knowledge to enable them to carry out their work as a buddy more effectively. So many things have changed since the last training session was held for them.

An Early Night....

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 07:08 AM PDT

Good rest and sound sleep is very important... if u don't sleep well,
The toxins in your body will accumulate... Affecting your health and your mood...

The main causes of liver damage are:
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are the main cause..
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating.
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener.
7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best
Cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body is very fit.
8. Consuming overly done foods also add to the burden of liver. Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried
Veggies should be finished in one sitting, do not store.

We have to adopt a good daily lifestyle and eating habits. Maintaining good eating habits is very important for our body to absorb and get rid of unnecessary chemicals.

Because….

Evening 9 - 11pm: is the time for eliminating unnecessary/ toxic chemicals (de- toxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). This time duration should be spent by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in a un relaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on her health.

Night at 11pm - 1am: The de-toxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 1 - 3am: de-toxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.

Early morning 3 - 5am: de-toxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the de-toxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.

Morning 5 - 7am: de-toxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.

Morning 7 - 9am: Absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick. Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, they should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 -10am rather than no meal at all. Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals.

Midnight to 4am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood.

Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late.

Sharing Is Caring!

DENIAL AND MORE DENIAL

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 06:25 AM PDT

I am not at all surprised to read the police findings into the tear gas shooting incident at Tung Shin hospital during the Bersih 2.0 rally on 9th July that indentified the involvement of a lone policeman, and that 'no further action will taken on the policeman except for an internal breach of procedure'. The AG office had also concluded that 'no further action could be taken against the policeman in the absence of any witness'.

I cannot understand how the police investigation was carried out and for the AG's office to come out with such findings. It sounds rather silly to me, or do they think that Malaysians today are so dumb and stupid that they can be so easily hoodwinked to believe in such findings?

Firstly, I do not believe that there was only one policeman involved, and by looking closely at the video on the amount of gas and water shot at Tung Shin hospital, I think there has to be several others involved. Secondly, am I to believe that a breach of police procedure by any member of the police force in the performance of their duties isn't an offence; hence it does not warrant the offender to be charged or disciplined? Try and breach an SOP in the military, and you know what you will get. Thirdly, am I to believe that there were no witnesses to the incident, and because of that the case needs no further action (NFA)? I don't think the policeman was alone when the shooting occurred? Surely there were several other policemen in the crowd, unless the rest were all asleep or blind at the time of the shooting?

Honestly, had I been the investigating officer, I would surely have come out with a different finding, and a breach in the SOP alone is enough to put the offender in trouble. I would have questioned every single policeman in the crowd, viewed all photos taken of the incident, talked to any civilian indentified at the scene of the hospital and interviewed all doctors/hospital staffs of Tung Shin hospital. I am sure I could come out with a different finding than that of the police investigation. I say that the police investigation and findings are flawed, bias and with intend to absolve blame. I note that this has been a common feature in any police investigation when it involves their kind. And this again reminds me of the mysterious and unanswered death in police custody where we are yet to see a policeman charged for murder or being an accessory to the murder. Remember the story of the three monkeys; see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil?

But the biggest joke of it all is the statement made by the Home Minister Hishamuddin himself, when he was reported to have said that the whole incident "is like making a big mountain of a mole hill" and that it is "blown out of proportion as the police were not solely responsible for the situation".

Denial is all that they know, and the sufferings of the people are of no concern.

Isu Tung Shin: Najib, Hisham, Liow Tiong Lai & KPN Perlu Bertanggungjawab & Dihakimi

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 07:00 AM PDT

-tvsnews

Isu Tung Shin: KDN, Menteri Kesihatan perlu minta maaf- Jui Meng

kata Naib Presiden KEADILAN, Datuk Seri Chua Jui Meng.

-kd

BERS✔H Lancarkan Kempen "Tunaikan 8 Tuntutan, Barulah PRU13"

Posted: 05 Oct 2011 05:15 AM PDT

The Mini is a small car that was made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s, and its space-saving front-wheel-drive layout (which allowed 80% of the area of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage) influenced a generation of car-makers. The vehicle is in some ways considered the British equivalent to its German contemporary, the Volkswagen Beetle, which enjoyed similar popularity in North America. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T. Read all in Wiki's Mini.

Mini (styled as MINI) is a British automotive marque owned by BMW
which specialises in small cars. Mini originated as a specific vehicle, a small car originally known as the Morris Mini-Minor and the Austin Seven,
launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, and developed into a brand encompassing a range of small cars, including the Clubman, Traveller
and Moke. The original two-door Mini continued in production until 2000. Development of a successor began in 1995 and the new generation car was launched in 2001. The Mini range has since expanded from the core two-door Hardtop/Hatch to include the Clubman (estate), Convertible and
Countryman (crossover).

The Mini was originally a car model of British Motor Corporation, which in 1966 became part of British Motor Holdings. British Motor Holdings merged with Leyland Motors in 1968 to form British Leyland. Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. In the 1980s British Leyland was broken-up and in 1988 Rover Group, including Mini, was acquired by British Aerospace. In 1994, Rover Group was acquired by BMW. In 2000 Rover Group was broken-up by BMW, with BMW retaining the Mini brand.
