-SH

Bandar Sunway Shuttle Bus On Fire – It was afternoon time where lunch time just passed. I had my lunch at Ming Tian Kopitiam right next to The One Academy and while on the way out, heading towards Sunway Pyramid for a little grocery shopping, I spotted a crowd of busybodies near the road and I detoured myself towards the busybodies and made myself one of them too.
I was behind the bushes, didn't want to go close because not wanting to hurt myself, but the important is be a smart a caring busybody that doesn't block the rescue work.
There were smoke, police and lots of busybodies, including me. The free shuttle bus provided by Sunway which ferries people around the area caught a fire. I didn't know how, the fire was in the bus. The smoke of burning were coming out from the bus, non-stop. I walked closer, it's burned, pitched black in the bus, sort of like interior BBQ.
Many fire extinguishers were used but somehow the fire couldn't be put out. The fire fighters were on the way there, I saw them right across the road, U-turning to the place. I was afraid that it was gonna explode, and I walked back to Sunway Pyramid. Luckily no one was injured. Yeah, great, good, woo, ok, end.

-mk

-KD

November 01, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has dismissed allegations of abuse of power in the federal government's RM250 million soft loan to a company owned by Cabinet minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Jalil's husband that operates the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC).
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said today in a written reply to a parliamentary question that the company — Agroscience Sdn Bhd — had been selected to operate the NFC project to create Malaysia's "Beef Valley" after a tender process involving five other companies.
The Auditor-General's Report released last week had criticised the project, and pointed out that it was now "in a mess".
It said production in 2010 was only 3,289 head of cattle or 41.1 per cent of the target set.
Yesterday, Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Datuk Seri Noh Omar told Parliament the NFC project was a success, insisting that the cattle farming scheme met its target of producing 8,000 head of cattle by 2010.
In a separate response today, Najib (picture) said that as at July 31 RM181.9 million had been channelled to NFC to implement the project.
"The loan was given with the aim of implementing the project to meet the demand for beef in the country and achieve the 38 per cent self-sufficiency goal," he said
Najib added that the NFC was currently producing local beef of high quality and commercial value.
"NFC products are now available at major supermarkets like Jaya Jusco, Giant, Carrefour and Cold Storage, as well as in wet markets, restaurants and retail shops nationwide.
"NFC is in the midst of increasing its feedlot production capacity to 12,000 cattle from 6,000 previously. It will also increase the capacity of its abattoir to 200 cattle daily. All these developments are expected to be completed by early next year."
Earlier today, PKR revealed what it said was proof the NFC had only met under five per cent of its annual production target, refuting Putrajaya's claim that the scheme was a success.
Backing the Auditor-General's assertion that the project had turned into a mess, PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli claimed the NFC's original target was to produce 60,000 head of cattle annually.
Rafizi said it had cost the NFC RM141 million to produce 8,016 head of cattle, which is 22 times more than the ministry's original estimate of RM6.37 million to rear 9,000 cows annually.
He was referring to the policy paper on the project that is still available on the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) website.
Yesterday, Noh denied that the project was awarded directly to Agroscience, a company owned by Women, Family and Community Development Minister Shahrizat's husband, Datuk Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail.
The Agriculture Ministry has also released the biodata of NFC's top management, naming Shahrizat's three children — Izran, 27, Izmir, 31, and Izzana, 25 — as chief executive and executive directors respectively.
It further said that Mohamad Salleh, NFC's executive chairman, holds a doctorate in fermentation technology and was head of food science at Universiti Pertanian Malaysia in 1981.

This is the BEST EID gift to our cousin brothers. And I hope this may not become a "GREAT SACRIFICE" for your political future as most of the Myanmars were brainwashed by successive Myanmar Military Governments with Islamophobic propaganda and especially Rohingyas became the easy target.
Source:Stop and/condemn the neo-fascist, racist anti-Rohingya petition campaign: Un-Buddhist, un-Christian and disgusting by Maung Zarni, A "Bama" Buddhist from Mandalay, the heartland of Burma where many racists hail.
Even if the Rohingyas were not native to what we call Burma today, our birthplace, the inhuman and inhumane treatment of nearly 1 million Rohingya in a semi-concentration camp should be UNACCEPTABLE to any nationals from Burma, who think they have human decency and believe in the responsibility to other human beings simply out of common humanity.
Remember "Chin" as we know it today didn't exist as such until the early 1900, and the Chin as a people, a collective, is the direct result of colonial missionaries. Within 50 years since they emerged as a people whose new core and collective identity evolves around Christianity, the Chin were recognzied as a signatory of the foundaing document of modern Burma. I am glad some Chin people are speaking out.
It looks like not only do we have a government in power that is deeply racist, sexist and Neanderthal but many of our own fellow Bama and Rakhins drink from the same neo-fascist, racist ideological well. Adolf Hitler would certainly have a fair hearing in most parts of Burma, it seems.
Mein Kempf, Nazism's required reading written by Hitler, is known to be popular with certain dissident circles along Thai-Burmese borders.
Let's just be honest.
Who is a Bama? What is this sick notion of "purity" of blood?
We Bama don't even really know with clarity where we came from except vaguely that we evolved from the Pyu who built early settlements from around Prome (or Pyay).
So, the need to be more understanding, welcoming and compassionate towards the most oppressed and downtrodden is more pronounced among those of us who find our own birthplace unbearable and hence live in more humane and human places OUTSIDE of our own country.
Further, Burma has always been a blessed country – population density, rich resources, etc. Even the old feudal kings of the old Burma were more enlightening and more strategic about handling migration towards Burma. To encourage greater increase in labor, military strength, etc. The kings in those days – I am talking about Kaungbaung Dynasty (1752-1885) had an immigration policy to attract voluntary in-migration into Burmese territories: immigrants to Burma were exempted from paying taxes to the Crown and being called to serve in the military expedition for the first 5 years. Through a less desirable means, that is, conquests, POWs from amongst Siamese,Portugeese, Assamese, Manipurans, etc were also resettled in different locations throughout the kindom and allowed them to work the land and pursue their own livelihoods.
There were French, Armenian, and other Europeans who voluntarily settled in Burma. The invasion of Rohingya, this rather misguided and most racist anti-Rohinga campaign, is neo-Fascist. I would rather brace howls and barking from racists among my own co-nationals – racist Bama and racist Rakhines alike, than remain silent.
We need to speak out whenever we see signs of neo-Fascist sentiment, whether from our own equally oppressed fellow citizens or from the oppressors. Otherwise don't call ourselves 'human rights defenders or democrats'. Human rights is not simply something one shouts, but one lives. I am extremely disturbed and disgusted by this deeply racist, neo-Fascist campaign coming from Rakhine and Bama racists. It misses the point: that our collective blood is sucked daily by the Bama "Buddhists" in silk skirt and generals uniform. They are the one who should be the target of mass campaign, not the most oppressed Rohinga., Shame on the petitioners ! (If you are not racist Bama or racist Rakhine, my note here doesn't apply, and you need not feel a need to howl at me or anyone who speaks in support the need to treat Rohinga with decency and compassion, as well as solidarity).
Long live Rohingya People!

My last posting was 'WHO CARES' that reflects my utter frustration at the manner in which our national leaders react to the massive 'fraud' inherent within the recently released Auditor General's (AG) report. Their response is one of shameless denial; this despite the obvious detailed observations and comments recorded by the AG, that even an infant would know that there is a lot wrong in the financial management of government funds by ministries and departments. This is not my first exposure to the AG report; rather I have read some previous ones too. But this report I think is the worse ever to reflect the government's mismanagement of its finances and spending, and what we get in return are denials upon denials by our national leaders. If denials are the only response that our leaders knows best, than I say that we might as well do away with the AG report.
Have we not read how silly the response we get from the Agriculture Minister Noh Omar regarding the financial mismanagement of the National Feedlot Centre (NFC)? If he does not know anything, it is better that he shut up. And what about the response from Tourism Minister Yen Yen that does not make any sense to me. Now, I have been told that even our PM in his written response has defended the failed NFC for reasons best known to him. Of course, being the PM he has no other choice but to defend the lady minister and her family members; rightfully or wrongfully. That's the essence of a true UMNO leader. I think I would have done the same if I were the PM.
Now, I am told that the MACC finds that there isn't any financial irregularities involved in the purchase of two pairs of night vision goggles by the Marine Park Department at ten times higher than the market price, and this is blamed on improper market survey. What stupidity is this? Does this mean that no one is to be blamed, and that the 'improper market survey' is at fault? My intuition tells me that there is a deliberate attempt by someone to cheat, and that cheat must be brought to justice. I now say that even the MACC investigators are not doing justice by making such remarks and judgment that only makes a mockery of them supposedly being the experts in the art of fighting and investigating corruption. I now believe that these investigators are incompetent and they need to learn much more. Why don't they learn from the Hongkies?
And what about the statement made by Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni when he said that RM407 billion national debt that grew 12.3% last year (I believe it is constantly growing) was "manageable as it had yet to breach critical threshold". Does this mean that we have to wait till it reaches the threshold for us to start panicking? And that will certainly come if our leaders continue to remain complacent and play ignorant that the financial woe of the country isn't too worrying. The same can be said of the country's external debt that has yet to breach the threshold of RM35 billion. It will certainly come if we are not careful.
Idris Jala has once again reminded us that "the country will go bankrupt if it spends borrowed money on operating expenditure such as subsidies instead of investing the cash" Idris Jala's argument is simple i.e. if our growth is dismal and if we do not cut on operating expenditure, then we are heading for 'dooms day'. Just read what other renowned economist and financial gurus say of our economy and it does not sound good. So stop listening to some of those 'half baked politicians' who only knows nothing better to do, other than to spew sex stories.

Western media coverage of the recent massacre of Coptic Christians in Cairo, Egypt—in which the military killed dozens of Christians and injured some 300—was, as discussed earlier, deplorable. It merely repeated the false propaganda of the complicit state-run media, without checking facts. Since then, further proofs of the lies and brutality surrounding the massacre have emerged; they are compiled in the following report which consists of facts and videos from Arabic sources—many of which have not appeared in the Western media.
This report documents: 1) the activities of the Supreme Military Council of Egypt and de facto ruler; 2) the lies and duplicitous tactics of both the Military Council and its media mouthpiece, Egyptian TV; and 3) the anti-Christian sentiment pervading all aspects of this incident.
The Egyptian Military
Along with a new report by Magdi Khalil asserting that the day before the planned march, a "death squad" of snipers hid atop buildings and shot at protesters, armored vehicles intentionally chased after and ran over protesters, killing and mutilating many:
The Tactics of the Military Council ( or "War is Deceit")
After the incident and notwithstanding crushing evidence, Egypt's Military Council held a news conference wherein senior official, Mahmoud Hegazy, spun lie after lie: he stated that the military would "never, never" run over civilians; that the very idea was "impossible, impossible!" and "Shame on those who accuse the Egyptian military of such things!... Never has our military run over a single person, not even when combating the Enemy [Israel]."
Hegazy portrayed the Christian protesters as the aggressors, attacking and killing "honorable" soldiers. To prove his point, he showed an image of a protester on top of a stalled armored vehicle, throwing a rock at the soldier inside, and a video of a military vehicle—that he claimed was hijacked by a protester—driving wildly into the crowd.
Hegazy's deceit lies in the fact that the "hijacked" vehicle running amok, and the one stalled and attacked by a protester, were one and the same vehicle: Al Dalil revealed that both vehicles had the same identification number. In other words, when the vehicle in which a soldier was chasing and running over protesters finally stalled, the protesters then attacked it. Egypt's leaders willfully manipulated the footage to exonerate themselves and portray the Copts as violent aggressors.
Several eye-witnesses, including Muslims, further stated that, to hide the "evidence," they saw soldiers hurling the mutilated bodies of those run over into the nearby Nile River. Likewise, among the slain, a dead Muslim soldier, whom the military said was killed by protesters, was actually killed by friendly-fire—although there are indications that he may have died elsewhere, and his corpse thrown among the dead for show.
As Copts have long suspected, the "thugs" (al-baltagiyya) who always appear in protests attacking Christians seem to be men whom the military uses to create an excuse to open fire and exercise brutality. Muslim eyewitnesses say they saw the thugs coming with State Security: Al Dalil showed a video clip of a soldier exposed dressed as a civilian, interspersed among Coptic protesters, and other videos showing the thugs cooperating with the military.
This video might offer the greatest proof: Days before the massacre, when Copts were protesting the destruction of their latest church, around 20 Egyptian soldiers and security personnel captured a protester and mercilessly beat him (while calling him an "infidel," to put the beating in context). Mixed among the military (camouflage uniforms) and security (black uniforms) is what appears to be a plainclothes civilian, who proceeds to stab the Christian protestor in the head with a knife several times; the victim later received 20 stitches. The plainclothesman is most likely a member of the military or security, dressed as a civilian for stealth purposes, otherwise he would not have been able to move among them so casually.
The Role of the Egyptian State Media (or "War is Deceit")
"Egyptian TV"—demonstrating, unsurprisingly, that state-run media always serve dictatorial regimes—merely propagated the lies of the Military Council.
Even as armored vehicles were mowing down Christian protesters, Egyptian TV broadcast footage of reporters saying, "Help, the Copts are killing our heroic, patriotic soldiers and burning Qurans!" One segment on Egyptian TV had an outraged reporter condemning Christians—"as if they were the Israeli enemy"—for killing "our noble protectors [soldiers], who never once fired a single shot." As a result, many Muslims took to the streets brutally attacking Christians and their property.
Egyptian TV also lied by saying three soldiers died at the hands of Copts: officials at the TV station later confessed to making it up. That, however, did not stop a barrage of op-eds in Egypt blaming the Christians for their own massacre.
Due to Egyptian TV's misinformation, several Egyptian reporters unequivocally condemned it. Anchorwoman Dina Rasmi said: "I am ashamed that I work at this despicable TV channel… Egyptian TV was effectively calling for civil war between Muslims and Christians… Egyptian TV has proven that it is a slave to those who rule." Another news anchor, Mahmoud Yousif, announced that he "washes his hands of what Egyptian TV is broadcasting."
Although it should be clear that anti-Christian sentiment fueled this latest Muslim slaughter of Christian minorities, a few specifics follow:
A massacre at this level never occurred during the thirty-year reign of ousted president Hosni Mubarak, and yet Mubarak is being charged with "crimes against Egyptians." What about the Military Council? It has committed greater crimes—even though it has been in charge for less than a year. Saddam Hussein was condemned by the international community for using chemicals on his own people; where are the international community, the media, and the so-called human rights groups when it comes to a government running over its own civilians with armored vehicles and having "death squads" of snipers shooting at them?
Finally, if this report testifies to crimes against humanity, consider what it says about diplomacy: If Egyptian leadership lies and deceives to suppress its internal "infidel" citizens—whose "crime" was to object to the continual destruction of their churches—how credible can it be to external "infidels," Israel and the U.S.? David (Slater), 46, said: "One of them must have accidentally knocked the camera and set it off because the sound caused a bit of a frenzy. "At first there was a lot of grimacing with their teeth showing because it was probably the first time they had ever seen a reflection. "They were quite mischievous jumping all over my equipment, and it looked like they were already posing for the camera when one hit the button. "The sound got his attention and he kept pressing it. At first it scared the rest of them away but they soon came back - it was amazing to watch."Monkey steals camera to snap himself"

Seven years ago, an accounts manager complained about being molested by 11 police personnel but heard no more about investigations.
The accounts mananger had alleged that she was stopped at a police road-block in Taman Connaught, Kuala Lumpur, on suspicion of drink driving and following a discussion, she told the police personnel to return her driving licence and to issue a ticket.
When the police personnel allegedly refused and demanded a bribe of RM3,000, she drove towards the Batu 9 police station in Cheras, but said a brown Proton Wira gave chase and forced her to turn into the premises of the General Operations Force building.
When Bee Fong alighted from her car, 11 police personnel approached her and allegedly began touching her body (demonstrated in photo).
Today, at about midnight, however, the police finally acted and detained her.
Relating her ordeal today, Wong Bee Fong, 39, said four police personnel including a female officer came knocking at her door at just about midnight.
Ben Fong further said, "They showed a warrant briefly, which I could not see clearly, and acted very rough. They threatened to break my padlock and door and tried to shame me in front of my neighbours. I told them not to make so much noise as my neighbours have children and babies. Furthermore, they have to go to work in the morning. However, they kept on knocking on my door asking me to produce my identity card. I was scared because I was alone at that time and called my employer."
Bee Fong said after her boss arrived, they left for the police station together, where she was immediately shown to the lock-up but luckily, she added, she was treated well at the police station while her boss tried to secure her release.
She said his morning, the police handcuffed her and took her to the Kajang Magistrate's Court in Putrajaya, where she was charged for obstructing L/Cpl Mohd Faudzi Abdul Aziz at the General Operations Force headquarters in Batu 9, Cheras, about 2.30am on Aug 13, 2004.
The charge, under Section 186 of the Penal Code, carries a penalty of two years' jail or fine of RM10,000, or both.
Bee Fong was granted bail of RM2,000, which was posted by her employer, according to her lawyer Keppy Wong (right) who had told Malaysiakini earlier today, "What is the country turning into? They could have informed her of the charge instead of arresting her in the middle of the night. It is bad enough that she was molested. To subject her to time in a lock-up is traumatising."

I'm blogging so much lesser and lesser these days. I've got tons of stuff on my mind to write and complain about but everytime I sit in front of my laptop, the mind becomes a total blank. I want to tell you about the dental supplies project I'm about to do, I want to tell you about the idiots I'm surrounded with at work everyday, I want to tell you about the running shoe buying fetish I seem to have developed but everytime I try to write them all down, nothing but rubbish turns comes that doesn't even see the light of day.
Time or rather lack of time is also another factor. I'm stuck with so much work and then there is my running passion to indulge in that by the time everything is done, there really isn't enough time for me to sit and blog much these days. 24 hours in a day just isn't enough to do everything you want to these days.
When I do find the time to blog like today, I'm a total blank. I can't even seem to compose proper sentences or think of something more interesting that this gibberish I'm writing right now. I'm also distracted by the beautiful weather out there that is simply crying out for me to put on my running shoes and run the evening away. But then, it's my compulsory rest day and I really need the break.
There was a time about a year ago, when I would have something to blog about everyday. I would be able to write post after post and for those of you who has been reading my blog from way back, you'd also know that I could be extremely long winded with my posts. Now, trying to write three short paragraphs seem to be an insurmountable task. Maybe a nice long break from blogging might help clear this 'writers block' I'm facing, not that I could write for nuts, mind you.
Anyways, all that aside, the year seems to be heading to a close pretty soon. It's already November and I can hear them Christmas bells already :D In fact, I've seen a Christmas tree being put up only yesterday. Christmas is always my favourite time of year, if only we had snow over here, it would make it even better :D But snow or no snow, I'm looking forward to Christmas.
I'm also looking forward to the new year cos this year I'm planning to do something totally different to usher in the new year. I'm going to take part in the Newton 25K run slated for the 1st of January 2012. I can't think of a better way to usher in the new year than taking part in a race with the wife :D I haven't registered for it yet, I'm planning to do it soon and I hope there's still slots available for it when I do register.
I heard that the route for this event is pretty challenging with hills upon hills that will be a mental as well as physical challenge to complete. Like I said, what better way to start the new year than torturing yourself on a totally challenging 25K race route ... LOL!

Selepas aduan 'dicabul', pengadu pula didakwa
-mk

Najib Nafi Dakwaan Salah guna Pinjaman RM250 Juta Untuk Projek Fidlot
- BERNAMA

So, the Prime Minister saves his one month salary, thanks to the Barisan Nasional MPs who shot down a motion by the Opposition to dock that 'about RM22,000' (among the world's lowest paid head of governments).
PKR vice president Tian Chua (MP-Batu) tabled the motion in the morning, arguing Najib's poor management of the economy, and that the national debt of RM407 billion will make the country go bankrupt. Anwar Ibrahim had earlier predicted in his blog that Malaysia's economy will burst by 2019.
Tian also battered the premier for 'failing to solve the country's major problems' such as high inflation and unemployment, which are actually very low (he didn't do his homework).
Government backbenchers said the country's inflation was under control and the amount of debt was not alarming as compared to some developed nations.
"What is the problem if the debt is 51 per cent of GDP? In America and Europe, it is worse. What is important is the economy and public welfare. The debt is to boost the economy, not for jollying here and there," said Pasir Salak MP Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
His colleague Abdul Rahman Dahlan also said the Opposition "wants an economic slump" to happen as when Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was finance minister during the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
Oh yeah. Remember when Anwar was finance minister. He didn't want to spend and it resulted in an economic slump. And he almost submitted to the offers by the IMF and World Bank for Malaysia to take up a huge amount of loan.
Another dumber this guy is. He should admit the fact that the drop in various socioeconomic indicators was the Opposition's plot to weaken the central administration. Their backstabbing, badmouthing and bad disposition of the government and nation had led to such a situation.
However, they blamed everything on the government. And on their part, the Opposition proclaimed that their counter-Budget, Bersih rally, streets demos and others are 'boosting' the economy. What a cow dunk!
What's next? I believe they will never give up undermining the government and the country...
