"Spare a thought for Uncle Tony F, Chief Executive of 'Air Asia"……

Arriving in a hotel in KL Sentral he went to the bar and asked for a pint of draught  Anchor.

The barman nodded and said, "That will be one Ringgit please, Uncle Tony."

Somewhat taken aback, Uncle Tony replied, "That's very cheap," and handed over
his money.

"Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition", said the barman. "And we are serving free pints every Wednesday evening from 6 until 8. We have the cheapest draught in Asia"

"That is remarkable value" Uncle Tony comments

"I see you don't seem to have a glass, so you'll probably need one of ours.

That will be 3 Ringgit please."

Uncle Tony scowled, but paid up. He took his drink and walked towards a seat.

"Ah, you want to sit down?" said the barman. "That'll be an extra 2 Ringgit.

You could have pre-book the seat, and it would have only cost you a Ringgit"

"I think you may to be too big for the seat sir, can I ask you to sit in this frame please"
Uncle Tony attempts to sit down but the frame is too small and when he can't squeeze in he complains "Nobody would fit in that little frame".

"I'm afraid if you can't fit in the frame you'll have to pay an extra surcharge of RM 4 for your seat sir"

Tony swore to himself, but paid up. "I see that you have brought your laptop with you" added the barman. "And since that wasn't pre-booked
either, that will be another 3 Ringgit"

Uncle Tony was so annoyed that he walked back to the bar, slammed his drink on the counter, and yelled, "This is ridiculous, I want to speak to the

"Ah, I see you want to use the counter," says the barman, "that will be 2 Ringgit please." Uncle's face was red with rage.

"Do you know who I am?"

Isa Samad Tunjuk Hero Depan Warga FELDA, Arah Datuk Dzulkifli Cuti 8 Bulan

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 08:51 AM PST

Pengarah Besar Felda Dzulkifli diarah cuti lapan bulan

"Tiada komen," kata beliau kepada The Malaysian Insider.

-TMI

Suria KLCC: Peaceful assembly, flashmob rulez! ;-)

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 07:46 AM PST

About 100-strong flashmob staged a protest against the Peaceful Assembly Bill at KLCC today, defying an injunction threat from the management.

My family was there. No doubt, our going there was planned the night before. Suggested to my wife to go shopping at KLCC and told her about the flashmob. She said ok. Suddenly, she remembered the first Garrett Popcorn Shop in Malaysia was now in KLCC Suria and told me about it. *hint hint* So, I had to said ok to buying her favourite Garrett Popcorn. ;)

Ok, cut the story short. We were there when about 100-strong flashmob staged a protest against the Peaceful Assembly Bill at KLCC today, defying an injunction threat from the management.

In the past, I used to write a lot of music and songs but stopped in 2002. Recently, I decided to play my piano and guitar again and perhaps, to resume writing music as well. One of my songs "All Praise And Glory to the Lamb" was recorded in the Island Songs album and sung by Charles Curtis, an American missionary now ministering in Singapore.

Of all the songs I have written, my favourite one is "You". This song was composed in June 2002 when I suffered a spinal injury following a hiking accident. That was easily the lowest point of my entire life - precious lessons learnt during the months when I was bedridden. Recovery took two years. Since then, I have yet to write any other song...I recorded this song last night during an impromptu jam session with Nicholas, my younger son, even though it has been a long while since I played the piano. We did not practise and Nick only ran through the song with me once, before this recording was made spontaneously...Here it is...

"You" - words and music by Paula

You are the lover of my soul
You touched my life and made me whole
You are the treasure of my heart
I want to love you, Just love you

You are the shepherd of my heart
You lead me tenderly and lovingly
You are the Beacon of my life
I want to praise You, Just praise You

And I will bless Your Name
Bless Your Holy Name
Give you the glory that is due to You
There is no Other, There's only You.....

Repeat 1st and second stanza

I will lift up my voice
Praise and honor You
Dwell in Your presence, just to worship You
There is no other, There's only You....

RUU Perhimpunan Aman Terus Dibantah Sekalipun KLCC Tegah Flashmob

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 07:07 AM PST

-mk

No flashmob but protest against Bill continues

Organisers of campaign against the Peaceful Assembly Bill defy threat of legal action to gather peacefully at KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: About 100 people gathered peacefully at Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) today despite the threats of legal action from the shopping mall's management.

The organisers of the campaign against the Peaceful Assembly Bill were forced to switch plans from holding a flashmob to shopping for yellow items instead.

The KLCC management said opponents of the Bill had on two previous occasion disrupted business operations of the tenants in KLCC and threatened legal action to stop them today.

Renamed, 'Malaysians Can Go Shopping & Pose with X'mas Trees without Police Permit', today's gathering saw many in yellow outfits congregating in front of huge Christmas trees on display at the centre of the mall.

Some were also seen displaying receipts of their purchases made in the mall to show that the assembly also benefited businesses in the premises.

Sporting no banners or placards, the group snapped pictures and chanted, "Kill The Bill", "Happy Human Rights Day" under the watchful eyes of security personnel.

The protesters also sang songs including a Christmas carol, "Jingle Bells", "Happy Birthday" to a participant celebrating his birthday today and the national anthem "Negaraku".

Human Rights lawyer, Fadiah Nadwa Fikri who was one of the protesters said that the gathering was to show the public what it meant to assemble peacefully.
"We are here to show our resistance to the repressive Bill. We are here to show that we can practice our rights peacefully.

"We have the right to be here…we are showing the public that this is what peaceful assembly means," she said.

'A leaderless movement'

The KLCC management, had on Thursday, urged the organisers to discourage 3,555 people who were invited via Facebook from gathering today.

They threatened the organisers with an injunction, seven of whom were named in the legal letter, including activist Wong Chin Huat.

Wong, however was not seen today. Vienna Looi, one of the organisers of the event, said that she was tied-up with training programme today.

Asked if she was a disappointed for not being able to join the gathering, she said that the movement need not have a 'clear leader'.

"It is a people's movement, a leaderless movement. We don't want to have a ring-leader. We merely want to make this a persistent movement," said the first-year law student.

She added the movement wanted to illustrate to the public that a peaceful assembly can take place regularly and wanted to make it a new trend in Malaysia.

Commenting on the threat of legal action, she said that she did not think the management of KLCC were behind the legal notice.

"There are other parties pushing for this," she said without elaborating.

Today, coincidentally, is International Human Rights Day. -FMT

Shahrizat Perlu Ditangkap Dan Disiasat, Agih RM2 Juta Kepada Beberapa Penyelaras BN

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 06:07 AM PST

Kenapa Shahrizat agih RM2 juta melalui BN?

-HD

Batu MIC: Cash aid meant for the poor not given out

BATU MIC members are questioning the mysterious disappearance of funds that should have been distributed to the Indian community during Deepavali.

They claim that Barisan Nasional coordinator Datuk Yahaya Mat Ghani had earlier promised to hand out the money to eligible applicants who were Batu voters.

The aid was given by the Community Welfare and Development Council (Mayang) under the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.

All BN coordinators were allocated RM2mil each to be distributed to the poor.

During a meeting in September with MIC, Indian Progressive Front (IPF) and Makkal Sakthi, Yahaya had handed out forms to the respective leaders for aid to be given out to needy Indians.

Batu MIC division chairman, Ramanathan Chinnu said they had submitted 207 forms to be checked by the Batu Umno secretariat and 43 were rejected because they were not registered Batu voters.

He said Yahaya had promised to hand out the money to eligible applicants during a Deepavali open house organised by MIC Batu on Oct 22.

However, at the eleventh hour, Ramanathan and his members were informed that only 70 people would receive the aid.

"When we found out we were taken aback because we realised something was wrong.

"Everybody thinks MIC is behind the disappearance of the money as we handed out the forms with our stamp," said Batu MIC Youth chief D.R. Pala Kumaran.

"No money was also given to MIC to organise the event. To make matters worse, no Umno representative turned up for the event except for the individual who brought the aid for the 70 people."

According to Ramanathan, something similar had occurred during a Tamil New Year celebration in April last year.

Yahaya had promised to hand out RM200 to poor Indians during a special ceremony that was organised at the Sri Athieswaran temple.

However, there was only RM100 in the envelope.

Ramanathan said when questioned, Yahaya had said the welfare department had not given out the money yet.

However, he said a check with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil revealed the money for the New Year celebration was handed out. The case has not been solved till today.

Ramananthan said they had sent out letters to top BN leaders but they had not received any feedback.

"Voters are unhappy. Despite all this we have been going to the ground to meet Indian voters to gain their trust," he added.

Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik said he had not heard of the missing funds.

"If this is true, they should make a formal complaint and we will investigate. There must be proof.

"Maybe there is some miscommunication.

"I am sure they will eventually get it," he said.

When contacted, Yahaya said he was aware that some people did not receive the allocation and there would be a second round of payment soon.

"So far we have disbursed a total of RM1.6mil to about 8,000 people in Batu through the respective component parties of Umno, MCA, MIC, PPP and Gerakan,'' he said.

"The second round of payment from the Mayang funds will be made once the funds have been released by the Welfare Department.

"Don't worry, once we get the funds we will give to the MIC,'' Yahaya said, adding the funds must be given out by Dec 31.

BRITAIN SHOULD WITHDRAW from EU to effectively lead its former colonies

Posted: 10 Dec 2011 03:36 AM PST

Bravo! The way to go UK! Come out from EU and just lead the Commonwealth and Former colonies like Burma. We need your support, cooperation and help. Now you R giving all the priorities to EU members and neglected all of us. - Home of the Daily and Sunday Express Express - Breaking news, sport and showbiz from the World's Greatest Newspaper

From now on, our energies will be directed to furthering the cause of those who believe Britain is Better Off Out.
The famous and symbolic Crusader who adorns our masthead will become the figurehead of the struggle to repatriate British sovereignty from a political project that has comprehensively failed people right across Europe. After far too many years as the victims of Brussels larceny, bullying, over-regulation and all-round interference, the time has come for the British people to win back their country and restore legitimacy and accountability to their political process. Following the debacle of the Lisbon Treaty – disgracefully imposed upon the public without the referendum they were promised by the three main political parties – many had expected matters European to take a lower profile in British politics. But the opposite has been true as those on board the European gravy train have mounted one power grab after another. At a time of austerity throughout Europe they have expanded their already bloated budgets, pushing Britain's disproportionate contributions even higher. And despite not being part of the failing eurozone, British taxpayers have learned that under Brussels rules agreed to by Labour after it had lost the election they are liable to help bail out economies wrecked by the single currency. A payment of up to £10billion for Ireland is apparently just the start with speculators now starting to target the embattled economy of Portugal. Despite unemployment across Europe averaging more than 10 per cent, Brussels continues to propose new job-destroying regulations and conspire to turn the whole EU into a zone of high taxation.
It is also seeking to take an ever more dominant role in border control issues, leaving its member states powerless to control migrant flows not only from other EU countries but from Asia and Africa too. The European Court of Human Rights has continued to trample on British justice – preventing the deportation of terror suspects and demanding that convicted prisoners are given the vote.
Withdrawal from the EU should be accompanied by a withdrawal from the jurisdiction of this alien, pan-European tribunal so that matters of British justice are decided once again in British courts. Ever since the British people were bounced into ratifying membership of the Common Market in 1975, after the political class had taken us in with no direct mandate, that institution has been stealing our rights to self-determination, redmodelling itself in turn as the European Economic Community, the European Community and lately as the European Union. Upon a wafer-thin permission for economic cooperation has been built a blueprint for the United States of Europe. Almost nothing the EU has proposed or enacted has benefited Britain – our trawler fleet has been devastated by the Common Fisheries Policy while our taxpayers have found themselves massively subsidising inefficient French and Polish farmers under the Common Agricultural Policy.  The European Exchange Rate Mechanism – the forerunner to the single currency – caused a deep recession in Britain that was only ended by the removal of Sterling from its deadening grip. This newspaper has always been hostile to the dilution of national sovereignty that EU membership entailed, but it has also always acknowledged that economic arguments were key.
So long as there was a case to be made that leaving the EU would risk jobs and investment in Britain there was a powerful brake on thoughts of leaving altogether. But since the ERM disaster 20 years ago that economic case has utterly collapsed. We were told staying out of the eurozone would be a financial disaster yet it is now clear beyond doubt that the opposite was true – joining it would have been catastrophic, removing Britain's ability to vary its interest and exchange rates to suit economic circumstances and plunging us into a depression. The past two decades of European integration have turned mainland Europe's economies from some of the world's industrial powerhouses into also-rans, stuck in the global slow lane. Only Germany has prospered in the euro – thanks to the single currency locking its neighbours into exchange rates they are unable to compete at. And now the price of belonging to the EU, in terms of surrendered sovereignty, is to be further raised with countries like Ireland effectively having their public spending and borrowing decisions made by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt rather than by their electorates. While the EU has spread economic sclerosis through its member states the two richest countries in Europe have remained outside: Norway and Switzerland have stayed as the lynch-pins of the European Free Trade Area – able to import from and export to the EU freely without being subjected to its federalist ambitions.  Were Britain to break free of Brussels there is no doubt that such a happy status would be open to us. As a heavy net importer from the EU we are simply too important a market for the EU nations to risk cutting ties with. Taking Britain out of the EU should not be seen as a move to "Little Englandism". On the contrary, ours is a great trading nation with markets all over the world. The time has come to develop our neglected trading links with the new global powerhouses such as China and India. The creation of the EU is explained by the perfectly understandable desire to avoid further conflict on a continent that had been the scene of two world wars. But Britain is a land apart: a precious stone set in the silver sea, as Shakespeare so evocatively put it; a realm with a glorious island story stretching back a thousand years, with links to every continent and a language taken up throughout the world. Our political class bought into the European experiment after losing confidence in our nation and accepting the inevitability of decline. They viewed Europe as a life raft and clambered on board. The British people never took that view.
Now it is Europe that is in decline and Britain that is being held back. It is time to break free.

EXCLUSIVE: EU Referendum Announced!

** To get involved, please sign our petition below. We will collect all the responses and pass them on to No 10 Downing Street **

"I call on the Government to arrange for an orderly withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU either by means of an enabling referendum or directly so that the British people are once again placed in charge of their own political destiny."
