Year 2012 Wishlist – Baby Stuff and all…

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 09:34 AM PDT

Hello blogosphere! I am now 23 weeks pregnant and very bulat around the mid area. My first trimester has been quite a nightmare. I was vomiting badly, gassy, bloated, no appetite to eat almost everything and very sensitive to smells.  At four months all of the said discomforts almost magically went away. I began to think and functions better as human on a whole before that I was almost a zombie… And now that I am pretty much myself again, I have thing thing called lust.. Lust for shopping!

It is very nice making up a wishlist. Although my fairygod mother hasn't granted a couple of stuff from my previous wishlist, I am saying whattaheck let's crate another! :)

Item no1 :  A cool diaper bag for Daddy that doesn't look like a diaper bag

You see, when our house was broken into a couple of years ago, the burglars also took Miki's diaper bag! Can you believe that? I guess he used it for carrying my jeweleries and stuff.. Tak guna punya setan gondol! Anyway, this time I am looking at something cool just like in below picture. I am not really into sweet pretty handbag-like ones that are abundance in the market but I prefer something suitable for Daddy to carry, because memang Daddy yang akan carry pun! Muahahaha… beside we are having a boy so biarkanlah beg tersebut kejantanan sedikit. LOL

Item no2 : Baby bedding set

Miki has a really nice white wooden crib complete with baby blue baby bumper, sheets, comforter etc. There was also a white mosquito net that's purely ornamental but super cute! HOwever, Miki never once slept in his crib! Sekali pun tak pernah ok! That crib served as a kandang ada lah! :p But this time around our room is much more spacious compared to our old room in the rented house so I plan to place the crib right beside our bed, have one side of it open like the pic below and practically have the crib attached to our bed. Since I plan to breastfeed Adik like I did Miki four years ago, it is very convenient this way. Coming back to my wish list, I wanna get new bedding set for the crib sebab Miki punya dah hilang entah ke mana…

Item no 3: Super cool rug

Azman and I have already discussed the attached bed-crib plan and Miki and Adik Miki's loving Dad terus bersemangat and remodeled our master bedroom immediately. Now our bed is not at the east wall anymore but north facing south and the pretty wall-papered  area where our king-sized bed used to be is now empty. It is really perfect for a mini nursery for Adik! So I would really love to get a cool carpet or rug that's not too big for that place, so later I can campak some scattered cusions, Adik's play gym etc. I  really like this zebra rug, I don't think I want a carpet with kiddies pattern on them because after all it is still our room nanti makbapak rasa macam tidor kat tadika pulak! LOL

Item no4: Step stool

At one time IKEA offered colorful wooden ones but entah kenapa tak beli and now they have ran out of stock. While waiting for it, Miki has grown tall enough to turn on the tap himself, climbs into the tub himself etc. Kesian! But I recently taught him to switch on the lights himself and that is still quite a struggle for my lil Abang. So nampaknya kena beli juga step stool yang cool-cool macam ni… Takmo plastic punya… Sapa tahu kat mana ada jual sila beri tahu!

Item no5: Cool baby clothing for Adik

When Miki was born i bought so many cool baju, hats etc for him sampai tak terpakai. Some I have donated to others and some I still keep sebab sayang. Although I am definitely going to let Adik wears some of them once he was born but oh how I itch to buy a truck load more! Now who can knit me this hat please!!? Haha!

I need to get new layette sets yang comel-comel and cool macam ni! Mana nak cari plsssss

Item no6: Rachael Ray kitchenwear for me!!!

Today we went to Subang Parade for a little shopping. Initially I wanted to get myself a pair of new comfortable sandals or shoes for daily wear but once I was at Metrojaya, I ended up buying serving dishes and drinking glasses for my kitchen. The shoes, long forgotten! Yes ladies and gentlemen, I am such a Giada-at-Home wannabe in my second pregnancy. I cook almost everyday despite tak larat and boyot. I have big appetite for Malay food like asam pedas, masak lemak, rendang burung puyuh daun puding Negeri Sembilan pun aku belasah boleyyy? But when it comes to kitchenwear, my appetite is very the mat salleh you see…. I want these Rachael Ray's cookware! Nak! Nak! Nak!

Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II 8-qt. Pasta Pot – sangat best sebab you can cook long pastaso easily, I have always hated to break my long pasta into two! Namun harganya agak indah permai kat Malaysia ada jual ke Rachael Ray's products?
I also want these R.R's serving tray whatchamacallit… They are too gorgeous!

Listing the stuff I want in a entry like this can lead to two things – one : sticking to the list and just buy what I need (not that I need that periuk pasta dan pinggan merah) or two: I will end up elaborating on the list and beli sampai poket kering kontang contohnya gambar no 1 tu alang-alang beli diaper bag hijau apa kata beli stroller hijau tu sekali, kan matching-matching kaler giteew?

Tapi oleh kerana sekarang pun poket dah memang kering so posibility no. two won't be happening lah kot. LOL

Have a great week everybody! Cheers!

Goddess Of Mercy – Guan Yin’s Birthday

Goddess Of Mercy – Guan Yin's Birthday 观音誕 (Guan Yin Dan) – Taoist and devotees celebrates the birthday of Goddess of Mercy (also known as Guan Yin Dan) on 19th February, 19th Jun and 19th September each year on the lunar calendar.

Goddess Of Mercy - Guan Yin's Birthday 观音誕 (Guan Yin Dan)
It's a very hot Sunday!

Today is the 19th February in the lunar calendar and it's a very happenings day at the Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Teng) on Pitt Street. I went there with grandma to pray, I also brought along my camera to take photos of the celebration. It's really very crowded and hot because of the burning of joss stick. It's overly crowded in the temple hall, moreover some part of the temple is closed for renovation.

It's very uncomfortable to move around due to the heat and amount of people, but then I managed to ooze myself into the crowd to pray and take photos.

There's a corner offering ear piercing. It is said that it brings good luck to the children who get their ears pierced during Guan Yin's birthday. There's many parents bring their little girls for ear piercing. It looks pain, some are brave and some cried. I've pierced before and I know the feeling. Haha.

A Matter of Perspective

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 09:02 AM PDT

Thanks to all friends, relatives and readers/subscribers who sent me their get-well wishes via comments and e-mails, even for those who silently prayed for me in their hearts. I am much better now and hope to be well by the end of next week. This has truly been the longest period I have been ill and indeed, I have learnt many precious lessons to enrich my soul.

This evening, Antares left a very beautiful comment in my post on Life Without Una and I would like to repost it here:

Antares said:

Times like these when we feel totally crushed by the seemingly impersonal wheel of life, birth, death and rebirth make us humble. We are awed by how vulnerable, how fragile, how precious and ephemeral our own existence actually is. And how petty and insignificant our mundane ambitions, quarrels and prejudices are.

This forces us to zoom out, to lean back and look up from whatever preoccupies us, to reassess our daily routines, our worldviews... and it is precisely at times such as these that we are often graced with an inner vision of what the bigger picture looks like.
And once we accept things (and people) as they are - and for a moment cease our endless battle - we are granted an intimation of what awaits beyond the range of our sensory perceptions and experience a deep serenity which transcends all struggle, all sorrow, all grief.
Antares certainly has much wisdom and insight in the way he writes, lives and helps so many who know him to see things in the right perspective.

This afternoon, my aunt from KL just called in response to my earlier call to my cousin. I have been very disappointed and guilty that I cannot be there for my uncle's funeral. She was, as always, gracious and understanding and expressed that thoughts matter more than actions. What a beautiful and warm, caring woman she has been always.

I just realized my uncle was 89. i tot he was 82. Honestly, he was the happiest man I have ever met. Always smiling and laughing, I had never heard him utter a negative word , no worries even though he went through so many tragedies in his life, none of which ever robbed him of his exuberance for life and infectious laughter.

His only daughter had polio and hisfirst wife died of cancer when his children were young. He remarried later and had two boys, one of whom passed away when in primary school. A few years ago, he lost his son-in -law, also a polio victim, in a tragic accident.

Amazingly, he was never filled with bitterness or sadness and always had a smile on his face and this positivism was passed down to all his children and my aunt has that same joy and calm composure that he had.

His focus was always on tomorrow and thought of ways to make the house better, garden neater etc. He had boundless energy and if not for the heart attack on Jan 1st, I think he would still have been alive today.

The last time I saw him was in November when my family went to KL to visit my son. I am so thankful that we made special effort to see him even though it was quite difficult for me to find my way there. Whenever we visited him, he was always warm, happy and ready to fatten us with fantastic food.

Pic of Uncle taken in November 2011

My teenage years were made memorable because I took the bus down to KL and gallivanted with my cousins - Fook, Weng, Daniel, Mun Keong and Mun Sim. Then, he lived in the railway quarters in Sentul and moved to Damansara when he retired.Through the years, my late dad had some minor misunderstanding with him but still, we kept in touch and I would call him on and off.

Tomorrow is the funeral. I know that many will mourn his passing as he makes his final journey. I do. He was a very good father, husband, uncle and friend. Fair, wise and yet firm at the right time, he brought up his family very well and each of his children are doing so well.

Uncle, you will me missed but never forgotten. May you always rest in peace.

I pray that each one of us will leave footprints behind in the hearts of those who know us.

I hope my blog and me have done the same :-) just as those of you who have reached out to me in one way or another has done.

It is really all about perspective - how we live our lives and leave when the time comes. Take care and God bless you and yours always.

Lakonan Hebat Najib - Shahrizat

Keputusan Shahrizat Undur Diri Tepat Dan Betul - Najib

- BERNAMA

Umno Cheras anggap drama 'Makcik Bollywood'

"Kalau berhenti, berhenti sahajalah. Tapi kenapa macam nak main tarik tali.

"Saya bersyukur dia nak berhenti, tetapi kecewa kerana dia nak berhenti bila tamat tempoh senator.

AMK: Langkah Shahrizat undur bukan remedi buat Najib

Dasyat sungguh lakonan mereka!

The definition of "tower" differs from "building", with the later mainly habitable. For many years the world's tallest tower is taller than the tallest building, but it changed in 2010 with the completion of Burj Khalifa (830m) in the United Arab of Emirates.

China Trip – Shanghai: On The City Sightseeing Bus #1 上海都市观光车 (Day 4) – It's time to hop on the 30RMB City Sightseeing bus to go a little tour around Shanghai. Well, if you were to tour on the City Sightseeing bus, be sure to wake up early, sit on the bus to tour the whole city first before getting off at any stop.

We thought of using the City Sightseeing bus as our mode of transport around attractions but it's not really useful as the frequency of the bus is very long. Just take the bus around, listen to the introduction, then forget about the bus anymore. Walk on foot or Metro to attractions as Shanghai is designed for walking.

We started off at East Nanjing Road, passed by Waibaidu Bridge, The Bund, and we alighted at Yu Yuan Garden, guess what, that's end of our trip on the City Sightseeing Bus because we wanted to get back on to go to another location, but then it's over the operation hour and we have to get back onto the bus the next day.

Lie: Shahrizat sacrificed. Truth: Senatorship expires

Stepping down? More like clinging on, says PKR
Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's today announcement of her exit from cabinet when her senatorship term expires in April should not be deemed a resignation, said PKR vice president N Surendran.

In a statement issued today, Surendran said Shahrizat based on the Federal Constitution, her ministership automatically comes to an end on April 8 when her term as a senator expires and based on the law, ministers must be appointed from members of either the Dewan Rakyat or Dewan Negara.

Surendran asksed, "Since Shahrizat's term as a senator ends on April 8, her ministership must also end in accordance with Article 43. Therefore how can Shahrizat claim to be resigning on April 8?"

Surendran, a practising lawyer, was commenting on the legal aspects of Shahrizat's announcement today that she "stepping down" after several years as women, family and community development minister after she endured about five momths of ridicule over her links with the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) saga.

[Video] Rakaman Ribut Matahari - Keindahan Yang Mendebarkan

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 08:10 AM PDT

Meneruskan “Agenda Pemulihan Demokrasi”

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 01:39 AM PST

KENYATAAN MEDIA
UNTUK SEBARAN SEGERA
11 MAC 2012

  1. Membatalkan semua Pengistiharan Darurat;
  2. Memansuhkan semua undang-undang Anti-Demokratik seperti ISA, AUKU, PPPA;
  3. Menunaikan Perjanjian Kemasukan Sabah dan Sarawak ke dalam Malaysia;
  4. Menjaminkan Keadilan dan Ketelusan Pilihanraya Umum;
  5. Mengembalikan Pilihanraya Kerajaan Tempatan;
  6. Mewujudkan Kebebasan Media.

1) Pindaan kepada Akta Pembangunan Petroleum 1974 (Petroleum Development Act 1974), di mana saya mencadangkan agar kuasa Perdana Menteri ke atas Petronas dibataskan, dan Petronas mestilah membentangkan akaun perbelanjaan tahunan di Parlimen yang akan menjamin ketelusan dan penggunaan khazanah bumi terhad negara secara seimbang dan mengutamakan kepentingan dan manafat rakyat;

YB Nurul Izzah Anwar
Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai

[SAH] Shahrizat Letak Jawatan Sebagai Menteri 8 April

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 04:27 AM PDT

NFCorp mula mendapat perhatian setelah Laporan Tahunan Ketua Audit Negara melaporkan projek penternakan lembu berkenaan gagal mencapai sasaran.

-TMI

Shahrizat sah undur bulan depan

Ulasan GB

Diantaranya, petikan:

Singsing lengan depan orangramai...Sudah buang tabiatkah?

Mayat Adik Yushahiriezal Ditemui Lemas Di Sungai Kinta

Posted: 11 Mar 2012 12:31 AM PST

Orang awam beri maklumat

-SH

Shahrizat Umum Letak Jawatan Petang Ini

Posted: 10 Mar 2012 11:36 PM PST

The Malaysian Insider turut difahamkan Shahrizat akan membuat pengumuman rasmi malam tadi, tetapi beliau masih lagi belum berbuat sedemikian.

The New Straits Times turut melaporkan berdasarkan sumber peringkat tertinggi bahawa mereka yakin Shahrizat tidak akan bertanding untuk pilihan raya akan datang.

Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak semalam berkata pengumuman terhadap perletakan jawatan Shahrizat akan dibuat kemudian.

"Terdapat banyak sangat khabar angin.

-TMI

Shahrizat to resign

DATUK Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil will resign as minister and Wanita Umno chief in the next few days, sources close to her who are also senior movement leaders said.

A state Wanita Umno chief said Shahrizat, who is also Women, Family and Community Development Minister, told her close circle of executive council members on Friday night that she would be relinquishing both her posts.

It is also learnt that Shahrizat had met with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on Friday to discuss her resignation. "Shahrizat told us she wanted to let go of both her posts. She was not happy with suggestions that she resign as minister but remain as Wanita Umno chief until the next party election. She sees no point in this.

Therefore, she made up her mind to relinquish both positions," said the state Wanita Umno chief.

The source added that some of the movement's senior leaders who were upset with Shahrizat's decision met with Najib the same day to discuss the matter. Another senior Wanita leader said a close aide of Shahrizat's had informed some Wanita members that Shahrizat would resign on Saturday (yesterday).

"However, this did not happen. We are puzzled as her officer was very confident that an announcement would be made that day. Perhaps she is waiting for the right time."

Other highly-placed sources said it was certain that Shahrizat would not be fielded in the upcoming general election. There were also many other signs yesterday pointing to an impending announcement of Shahrizat's resignation.

Najib and Shahrizat's short exchange before the start of a press conference following the launch of a Wanita Barisan Nasional welfare programme, Jelajah Sayang 1Malaysia, at the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council, fuelled speculation that the Wanita Umno chief would make an important announcement soon.

Shahrizat was stopped by Najib while they were both walking towards the stage for the press conference. They proceeded to discuss in hushed tones while approaching their seats on the stage.

Reporters overheard what was discussed between the two. To a question from Najib, Shahrizat said: "It is not the right place. It is not proper. Maybe tomorrow (today)."

Realising what she said was heard by press members, Shahrizat flashed them a smile and sat down.

When asked later on rumours that Shahrizat was resigning, Najib said an announcement about Shahrizat's posts would be made later.

"There are all kinds of rumours. But we will make the appropriate announcement," said Najib.

When pressed further on whether Shahrizat would be resigning as minister or Wanita Umno chief, Najib said: "Don't worry, we will make the proper announcement."

Shahrizat had recently said that she was leaving it to Najib whether to reappoint her as senator when her term expires on April 8.

Shahrizat had arrived in Johor on Friday to attend a Wanita Umno retreat at the Biro Tatanegara camp in Gunung Pulai near Kulaijaya. A notable absentee at the retreat was her deputy, Datuk Kamilia Ibrahim, who has a strained relationship with Shahrizat following her statement that Umno's leaders must place party interests above their own.

The Pasir Gudang event yesterday was Shahrizat's second for the day, after the Wanita Umno Jelajah Squad Sayang event at Gunung Pulai launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Shahrizat is linked to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) controversy.
Her husband, Datuk Dr Mohamed Salleh Ismail, heads the NFCorp, which is involved in the beef valley project, the National Feedlot Centre, in Gemas, Negri Sembilan.

The 2010 Auditor-General's Report had pointed out several weaknesses in the project. Various quarters had urged Shahrizat to step down as minister.

Shahrizat was appointed as women and family development minister in 2001 and held the post until March 2008 when she lost in the general election.

She was then appointed as a special adviser to the prime minister on women affairs and social development. A year later, she was reappointed as women, family and community development minister. Additional reporting by Masami Mustaza and Rozanna Latiff.
