Kenyataan Umum

13 September 2010

Sekian.

Kenapa Pemimpin UMNO Tunjuk Tanda Simbolik Yahudi?

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 10:12 AM PDT

Knapalah pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO menunjukkan tanda simbolik Jewish Magi?

Dimana mereka belajar?

Airasia more expensive than MAS?

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 07:13 AM PDT

I recently flew Malaysia Airlines ("MAS") on my trip to Kuching.  It was an amazingly lovely experience.  Firstly I had to make a late booking on the flight and was pleasantly surprised to find that MAS was actually cheaper than the supposedly low cost Airasia.  How does that happen? No wonder Airasia is making big profits.

Well I checked in online so I just had to drop my luggage an hour before flight.  I was queuing for my turn when my flight number was announced and we were told to go to another counter for dropping the bags faster. So I did and I asked the counter guy when is boarding time and he said - now. I looked at my watch and was surprised that it was 20 minutes to departure time.  Anyway, it's amazing how seamless it all was, not really having to worry about being shut out at the counter.

And I got onto the plane, it was a lovely Airbus.  The steward helped me to put up my cabin bag. And the food... oh, it was yummy.. lovely roti canai for breakfast!

Well, I now check for MAS tickets first.  The gap between MAS and Airasia prices also seems to be closing. And in many instances, AirAsia prices are more expensive than MAS.  There really should be a check on Airasia prices - why their air tickets are so expensive for a low cost with no frills.  How is it justifiable that Airasia, budget airlines can have more expensive fares than MAS a full service airlines.  Flights from KL to Kuching used to be around RM400 return for excursion fares if you stay more than 2 nights. How can Airasia prices be higher.  I also want to express appreciation for MAS in adding more flights during the last Hari Raya holidays and keeping the fares lower than Airasia. Such corporate social responsibility by MAS is in the right direction, and such generosity should really begin in our own country.  There really should be sensitivity in a family-centric country like Malaysia not to advertise crazily cheap fares to overseas destinations during festive seasons, when our own people are struggling to find affordable airtickets to fly home.

Najib Kena Letak Jawatan Selepas PRU13

Ambassador Killed, Embassy Attacked: A Time of Testing By John Podhoretz

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 05:55 AM PDT

If reports are true, Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, was one of four diplomats killed yesterday in a rocket strike in Benghazi. This is awful, calamitous, horrible news in a hundred different ways, not only for his family and for the Foreign Service in which he served so honorably, but when it comes to the most fundamental rule of relations between countries from time immemorial—which is that their emissaries are guaranteed safe passage and safe conduct when they travel on behalf of their own governments. We can presume Stevens and his colleagues were not killed by the Libyan government, because if that were the case, this would be nothing less than an act of war that required a response.

As we saw yesterday in Cairo, with the assault on the U.S. embassy there on the pretext of a cinematic offense against the Prophet, the United States has entered a new time of testing in the long war against Islamism—with assaults on official U.S. property and U.S. personnel. Such tests have always been highly problematic for us; before this becomes an occasion to blame Barack Obama's weakness and vascillation, it's worth remembering that the United States has never handled it well. In the 1960s, radicals attacking U.S. embassies became a kind of running joke. The joke ended in 1979 with the taking of the hostages in Iran, which was a state action in the guise of a radical private action.

But after yesterday, the test is Obama's.

The strange spectacle of the dreadful initial response from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo—apologizing for an offense that the United States did not offer and that under any circumstances would not justify an attack—followed by a White House disavowal six hours later ("we didn't clear it") can be ascribed to the initial daze of a two-pronged attack that must have left everyone in shock. That lack of clarity must end today, or there will be more of this. Much more. Commentary Magazine.

Obama to Israel: You're On Your Own

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 05:44 AM PDT

Does President Obama want Israel to bomb Iran before the election? If we had more faith in this Administration's competence, we'd be tempted to think so. Both publicly and behind the scenes, Administration officials have insisted they oppose a unilateral Israeli strike for many reasons: Diplomacy and sanctions still need time to work; an Israeli attack could destabilize the region; Israel doesn't have the military means to do the job thoroughly; and so on.

It's no secret the Israelis don't want to strike Iran either, provided the U.S. is serious about keeping a bomb out of the mullahs' hands. But Israel's confidence in Mr. Obama's seriousness is fading fast. This week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Bloomberg Radio that "we're not setting deadlines" for Iran to halt its program. That prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to note that "those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don't have a moral right to place a red light before Israel."

That's the kind of tough diplomatic exchange that an Administration should want to smooth over, at least if it's truly intent on forestalling an Israeli attack. But now comes word that Mr. Obama will not even meet with Mr. Netanyahu during the latter's visit later this month to the U.S. Scheduling conflicts, you know. Late Tuesday the White House issued a statement saying the two leaders had talked and denying any snub. But the message that's reaching Jerusalem these days is closer to "you're on your own, pal" than to "we've got your back." Israel will have to factor that into its security calculations as it contemplates whether to act against Iran, and when.

It's possible this is how President Obama wants it, in order to leave the job of stopping Iran to Israel while avoiding American entanglements. But it's hard to imagine an Israeli attack that didn't ultimately entangle that country's most important ally. The Administration's diplomatic rebukes to Israel are also telling Iran that it is that much freer to move ahead with its nuclear plans. If Israel does strike Iran, Mr. Obama's mishandling of our ally will be a major reason. WSJ

Apparently President Obama can’t see Egypt and Libya from his house

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 05:23 AM PDT

On the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks ever perpetrated on America, our embassy in Cairo and our consulate in Benghazi were attacked by violent Islamic mobs. In Cairo, they scaled the walls of our embassy, destroyed our flag, and replaced it with a black Islamic banner. In Benghazi, the armed gunmen set fire to our consulate and killed an American staff member. The Islamic radicals claim that these attacks are in protest to some film criticizing Islam. In response to this, the U.S. embassy in Cairo issued a statement that was so outrageous many of us thought it must be a satire. The embassy actually apologized to the violent mob attacking us, and it even went so far as to chastise those who use free speech to "hurt the religious feelings of Muslims." (Funny, the current administration has no problem hurting the "religious feelings" of Catholics.)

But where is the president's statement about this? These countries represent his much touted "Arab Spring." How's that Arab Spring working out for us now? Have we received an apology yet from our "friends" in the Muslim Brotherhood for the assault on our embassy?

It's about time our president stood up for America and condemned these Islamic extremists. I realize there must be a lot on his mind these days – what with our economy's abysmal jobless numbers and Moody's new warning about yet another downgrade to our nation's credit rating due to the current administration's failure to come up with a credible deficit reduction plan. And, of course, he has a busy schedule – with all those rounds of golf, softball interviews with the "Pimp with the Limp," and fundraising dinners with his corporate cronies. But our nation's security should be of utmost importance to our Commander-in-chief. America can't afford any more "leading from behind" in such a dangerous world. We already know that President Obama likes to "speak softly" to our enemies. If he doesn't have a "big stick" to carry, maybe it's time for him to grow one.

Polis Ada Dalam Kumpulan Samseng Serang Bas Merdeka Rakyat

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 06:19 AM PDT

-KD

"U.S. ambassador to Libya killed in Benghazi attack," by Tamim Elyan and Omar al-Mosmari for Reuters, September 11:
BENGHAZI, Libya (Reuters) - The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff were killed in a rocket attack on their car, a Libyan official said, as they were rushed from a consular building stormed by militants denouncing a U.S.-made film insulting the Prophet Mohammad. Gunmen had attacked and burned the U.S. consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi, a center of last year's uprising against Muammar Gaddafi, late on Tuesday evening, killing one U.S. consular official. The building was evacuated.
The Libyan official said the ambassador, Christopher Stevens, was being driven from the consulate building to a safer location when gunmen opened fire. "The American ambassador and three staff members were killed when gunmen fired rockets at them," the official in Benghazi told Reuters. There was no immediate comment from the State Department in Washington. U.S. ambassadors in such volatile countries are accompanied by tight security, usually travelling in well-protected convoys. Security officials will be considering whether the two attacks were coordinated.
Libyan deputy prime minister Mustafa Abu Shagour condemned the killing of the U.S. diplomats as a cowardly act. The consular official had died after clashes between Libyan security forces and Islamist militants around the consulate building. Looters raided the empty compound and some onlookers took pictures after calm returned.
In neighboring Egypt, demonstrators had torn down an American flag and burned it during the protest. Some tried to raise a black flag with the words "There is no God but God, and Mohammad is his messenger", a Reuters witness said.... "The Libyan security forces came under heavy fire and we were not prepared for the intensity of the attack," said Abdel-Monem Al-Hurr, spokesman for Libya's Supreme Security Committee. In Benghazi, unidentified men had shot at the consulate buildings, while others threw handmade bombs into the compound, setting off small explosions.

On Wednesday morning, the compound stood empty, with passers-by freely walking in to take a look at the damage. Walls were charred and a small fire burned inside one of the buildings. A small group of men was trying to extinguish the flames and three security men briefly surveyed the scene. A Reuters reporter saw chairs, table and food lying alongside empty shells. Some blood stains could also be seen in front of one of the buildings. Three cars were torched.
The crowd of around 2,000 protesters in Cairo was a mixture of Islamists and teenage soccer fans known for fighting police and who played a part in the revolt that toppled Egypt's leader Hosni Mubarak last year. The fortress-like U.S. mission is near Tahrir Square, where Egypt's uprising began and the scene of many protests since. Youths danced and chanted football songs. A Reuters reporter said they appeared to climb into the embassy compound almost as an afterthought.
"We sacrificed dozens and hundreds during the uprising for our dignity. The Prophet's dignity is more important to us and we are ready to sacrifice millions," said mosque preacher Mohamed Abu Gabal who joined the protest.... Hat tip: Jihad Watch

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 03:34 AM PDT

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 01:52 AM PDT

Today’s cases…

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 01:13 AM PDT

I was on clinic duty again today. This time alone because the trainee volunteer who was supposed to be on duty with me had office matters to attend to. But I am already used to being on clinic duty alone, even in Taiping, so it wasn't a problem at all.

The moment I went in the doctor's room, the nurse told me there were 2 new cases today and both of them were already there. So yep, no waiting for me today. Off I went to the support service room and within just minutes, the nurse came in with the first case.

A big-sized guy came in, alone. Looking through his file, I noticed he has a wife. "You punya bini sudah tau ka belum?" I asked. "Belum. Nanti la bila-bila saya bagitau…" he replied. I told him the importance of telling his wife so she can get tested as well. He then said he knew about his HIV infection since 2010 but didn't go for any follow up. Wow, for the past 2 years he knew he had HIV, yet he never told his wife? As a matter of fact, when I kept advising him to inform his wife, he told me about how some time last year, his wife did a full blood test and she was found to be HIV-negative. Duh! I hope he wasn't using that as an excuse not to tell his wife NOW. Whatever it is, I believe the doctor and nurses too will be pestering him to get his wife tested…

After a while, the staff nurse herself came into the room to refer the next case to me. A couple came in, the guy using crutches, accompanied by his wife. The guy had been tested positive for HIV after he was hospitalised recently for lung infection. The wife had yet to be tested but at least she's fully aware of her husband's condition and based on what was written in the file, she was due to do her blood test today.

The guy looked calm. He admitted he used to "main perempuan" when he was much younger before he got married, but he claimed he must have got HIV during a blood transfusion 10 years ago after an accident (the reason he's using crutches now).

The couple has 2 children, one almost 20 and is working now. The younger one, 16,  is still in school. Since the guy lives on his Socso and welfare aid, I thought the schooling child may need educational help. But the guy admitted his son has been getting financial assistance from various sources for his schooling. At least he's honest, unlike some people I know who'd take advantage of any form of financial assistance offered, despite getting help from various other sources. The older son, was offered to a place in IKM after form 5, but decided to turn down the offer. With his father's condition after the accident, and his mother not working to take care of the father, this boy decided to work so he could help his family financially by working. In fact, while he was still schooling, he brought nasi lemak made by his mother to school and sold them to his friends. Wow! I truly respect this boy's sense of responsibility. Despite himself having to work immediately after he finished schooling, he is giving encouragement to his younger brother to study hard so he can further his studies after SPM. I like this boy already!

When I turned my attention to wife, she started crying. She's afraid to get tested. I told her that whatever the outcome of the blood test, positive or not, she will have to accept because there is no way she can turn back the clock. She must now think of the future, not the past. "Tapi kenapa saya?" she asked as though she is already confirmed positive.

Guess she will need some time to swallow everything in. I will have to follow up on her later.

Those were the 2 cases referred by the Ipoh ID clinic today. I finished quite early by about 11.15 or so. But I couldn't go hack yet as I had promised to meet up with a PLHIV who called me earlier, interested to join Buddies, either as a client or a volunteer. He stays in Perak but does his follow up in Sg Buloh, which was why his case was never referred to us before despite being on treatment for a number of years already. He was hoping to find fellow PLHIV in his town so he could form a group and they could meet from time to time to give support to each other. But although he knew of a few PLHIV in his town, they don't seem to want to meet up. Which was why he finally decided to join Buddies. He said he's getting bored doing nothing at home, and so he might as well do something useful like helping out fellow PLHIV.

What I like is the fact that he is willing to open up and share his experience with the public. He said if the PLHIV themselves don't speak up, then people will never understand them. Great, now if we get invited for talks or the likes, we probably can rope him in to share his own experiences in dealing with HIV – such experience sharing will probably leave a greater impact on the audience.

We will take him in as a client first, then later on, after assessing him, we may pull him in as a volunteer.

Laman Umno sahkan Khairy menipu ?

Posted: 12 Sep 2012 12:40 AM PDT
