Kini tembelang sudah pecah.

UMNO meniru cara PAP Singapura melafazkan ikrar taat kepada parti.

Dulu siang malam pagi petang kutuk PAP akhirnya ikut juga cara parti itu melafazkan ikrar.

Kalau ikut cara mereka sifar rasuah alangkah bagusnya. -omakkau

Five Precepts of Buddhist Myanmar Military

From Wikipedia>>>The Five Precepts (Pali: pañca-sīlāni; Sanskrit: pañca-śīlāni)[1] constitute the basic Buddhist code of ethics, undertaken by lay followers (Upāsaka and Upāsikā) of the Buddha Gautama in the Theravada as well as in Mahayana traditions. The precepts in both traditions are essentially identical and are commitments to abstain from harming living beings, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying and intoxication. Undertaking the five precepts is part of both lay Buddhist initiation and regular lay Buddhist devotional practices.

They are not formulated as imperatives, but as training rules that laypeople undertake voluntarily to facilitate practice.[2]

Pali training rules

The following are the five precepts (pañca-sikkhāpada)[3] or five virtues (pañca-sīla) rendered in English and Pali:[4][5]

1. I undertake the training rule to abstain from taking life. Pāṇātipātā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.
2. I undertake the training rule to abstain from taking what is not given. Adinnādānā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.
3. I undertake the training rule to abstain from sexual misconduct. Kāmesumicchācāra veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.
4. I undertake the training rule to abstain from false speech. Musāvādā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.
5. I undertake the training rule to abstain from fermented drink that causes heedlessness. Surāmerayamajjapamādaṭṭhānā veramaṇī sikkhāpadaṃ samādiyāmi.[6]

Useful Idiots = Westerners duped into saying good things about bad regimes like present Myanmar Government

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 06:08 AM PST

The phrase 'useful idiots', supposedly Lenin's, refers to Westerners duped into saying good things about bad regimes. (like the present Myanmar Government)

In political jargon it was used to describe Soviet sympathisers in Western countries and the attitude of the Soviet government towards them.

Useful idiots, in a broader sense, refers to Western journalists, travellers and intellectuals who gave their blessing – often with evangelistic fervour – to tyrannies and tyrants, thereby convincing politicians and public that utopias rather than Belsens thrived.

In part one John Sweeney looks at Stalin's Western apologists.

In part two he explores how present day stories of human rights abuses across the world are still rewritten.

In 1952 Doris Lessing, a British writer who has since won the Nobel Prize for Literature, was part of a delegation visiting the Soviet Union.

Her memories of the trip are clear and unforgiving:

"I was taken around and shown things as a 'useful idiot'… that's what my role was. I can't understand why I was so gullible."

She was not the only one. The Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw and American journalist Walter Duranty were some of those people who also visited the Soviet Union.

They mingled with political leaders, were escorted into the countryside by Joseph Stalin's secret police, and returned home to speak and write of 'a land of hope' with 'evils retreating before the spread of communism'.

However as stories mounted of mass murder and starvation in parts of Russia and the Ukraine, reporters such as Gareth Jones and Malcolm Muggeridge investigated and reported on 'the creation of one enormous Belsen'.

Duranty responded with an article in the New York Times headed 'Story of the famine is bunk', and got an exclusive interview with Stalin.

Soon after, Jones died and Muggeridge's career nose-dived. Duranty was awarded a Pulitzer.
How can intellectual curiosity transform into active promotion of a dangerous lie? Why so many 'useful idiots'?

International Buddhist leaders urge Burmese to show compassion for Rohingyas by Mizzima မဇၩိမ on  December 8, 2012

Seventeen Buddhist leaders from around the world—plus His Excellency the Dalai Lama in absentia—have issued a statement urging Buddhists in Burma to show mutual respect and compassion to Muslims in Rakhine State.

Burmese Buddhist monks rally on the streets of Mandalay on Sunday, September 2, 2012 as they support the country's president, Thein Sein, who has called for the deportation of members of the Muslim minority Rohingyas, who live in Rakhine State. Photo: AFP

The statement comes after many Buddhist monks and abbots led demonstrations and advocated the removal of the Muslim Rohingya community from Burmese soil.

"We are concerned about the growing ethnic violence and the targeting of Muslims in Rakhine State and the violence against Muslims and others across the country," the statement said. "The Burmese are a noble people, and Burmese Buddhists carry a long and profound history of upholding the Dharma.

"We wish to reaffirm to the world and to support you in practicing the most fundamental Buddhist principles of non-harming, mutual respect and compassion."

"Kami Mahu Jenain Datang Bersemuka Dengan ibu" - Kakak Aminulrasyid

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 06:32 AM PST

Seolah-olah anak saya bersalah 100 peratus. Kesalahan hanya tiada lesen memandu tapi meninggal kerana tembakan.

Pertengahan September lalu, Mahkamah Sesyen menjatuhkan hukuman penjara lima tahun selepas mendapati Jenain bersalah menyebabkan kematian Aminulrasyid.

Aminulrasyid disahkan meninggal dunia akibat luka tembakan di kepala.

Back-to-school shopping : DONE!

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 05:28 AM PST

Been spending the past three days doing more and more of back-to-school shopping… on Thursday for 4 families of 11 children, on Friday for 6 families of 19 children, and today for 6 more families of 12 children. All that plus the 2 families I brought shopping earlier on Monday and Wednesday, means I have brought altogether 48 children shopping for their schooling needs within this one week.

Photo0239

Total damages so far: RM9,835.10

The above amount does not include claims from a few other families which had not been submitted to me. You see, a few families agreed to buy first and claim later. After this I will need to start collecting the various children's list of fees/workbooks etc which they need to pay when school reopens in January.

Taking a few families shopping together, I didn't really have the opportunity to find out the details of each child's progress in school. I know some of these children aren't doing too well in school. With these kids, I am more interested to know which area their interest lies so we can help pave the way for them to take up suitable vocational courses.

But I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that one of our sponsored children who entered a fully residential school at the beginning of this year, came out tops among her batch-mates in her school exam. Wonderful! I hope she will continue to excel in her studies.

Whatever it is, I think I am done with this year's back-to-school shopping. My next mission is buy bicycles for a few children needing bicycles to go to school. I've already got sponsors for the bicycles… just announce on my FB wall and within an hour I got more than enough sponsors.

Meantime, just let me get a short rest and recover from bektuskulitis shopingsakania that I am suffering from right now.

*For the uninitiated, that's my "medical" term for back-to-school shopping sakan…

[VIDEO] Najib Panggil Naib-naib Presiden UMNO "Tiga Ekor" Yang Patuh

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 04:36 AM PST

-jalanpulang

Insiden Felda Selasih; Biar Rakyat Menilai Perangai Hodoh Pemimpin Umno

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 02:14 AM PST

Sekitar jam 6.40 petang semua 80 kenderaan bersama 240 peserta beredar.

Through Good Times And Bad Times..our unwavering respect, highest recognition and strong vote for BN in the PRU 13..InsyaAllah.

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 04:38 AM PST

p.s.
Understandably, those who are supportive of PR will offer their smirks and will not care to peek into the greatness of our admirable Malaysian Premiers.
And so, for those of us who are forever siding BN and, for our fellow Malaysians who are still unsure, please view all or whichever tape.
Hopefully, despite our dissatisfaction on certain issues that BN leaders may have overlooked or done, our Malaysian Prime Ministers have shown tremendous leadership skills.

Let BN continue their painstaking efforts in administering the country.
Leaders are human..they make realistic errors.
Allow them to rectify their imperfections.

Opposition leaders are human too..only thing we can already anticipate that they are going to face worst failures which will run riot.
And when they cannot figure out the solutions, they'll say they need time to correct the so called BN mess and hence, make our daily lives miserable and more pressured.
Even now, PR is so excellent in criticizing the faults of BN but unashamedly, consider themselves perfect..such hypocrites are raging wild and out to ruin our beloved country.

PR does not have the real potential to lead our country.
They just assume they are cleverer and think that they can do better.
We cannot leave the fate of country on hazy assumptions.

The rakyat will certainly suffer their rotten list of promises.
Please, do not let this happen to our dear innocent families..
Do not let our children's future turn dark..
BN is still our savior..they have always made our country feel more secure..
Alhamdulillah.

Prank call nurse dead: William, Catherine shocked

Prince William - Prince William and Duchess Catherine 'saddened' by nurse's death

08 December 2012

Prince William and Duchess Catherine 'saddened' by nurse's death

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has released a statement revealing their shock and sadness at the reported suicide of the nurse who unwittingly transferred a call to Catherine's nurse from Australian radio DJs claiming to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, where they were provided with intimate details on the duchess' condition during her recent hospital stay.
Prince William and Duchess Catherine are ''deeply saddened'' over the apparent suicide of nurse Jacintha Saldanha.
The staff member at London's King Edward VII hospital unwittingly transferred a call to Catherine's nurse from Australian radio DJs claiming to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, where they were provided with intimate details on the duchess' condition during her recent hospital stay.
The royal family did not make a complaint against her and she was not being reprimanded by the hospital for the mistake and William and Catherine - who is now resting at home after being treated for acute morning sickness - revealed how saddened they were by her death.
The statement read: ''The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacintha Saldanha. Their Royal Highnesses were looked after so wonderfully well at all times by everybody at King Edward VII Hospital, and their thoughts and prayers are with Jacintha Saldanha's family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.''
Jacintha was found unresponsive on Friday morning (07.12.12) at an address close to the medical facility, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: ''Police were called at approximately 9.25am on Friday, December 7, to a report of a woman found unconscious an address in Weymouth Street, W1.
''London Ambulance Service attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
''Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
''The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.''

[WASPADA] Bil Eletrik Naik 41% Jika BN Kekal Perintah Malaysia

Posted: 08 Dec 2012 12:01 AM PST

[VIDEO & GAMBAR] Sekitar Perhimpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat Negeri Kedah

Posted: 07 Dec 2012 07:05 PM PST

-HD

The Dandy Book 1966

Posted: 07 Dec 2012 03:13 PM PST

LONDON, Dec 5 — Britain's longest-running comic The Dandy produced its final print edition on its 75th anniversary on Tuesday and will relaunch as a purely online publication.

In its 1950s heyday, The Dandy, featuring Desperate Dan, Bananaman and Korky the Cat, sold two million copies a week, but circulation has dwindled and is now around 8,000.

I must admit that when I read the above brief news item from AFP a few days ago, it brought a lump to my throat. The early 1960s was a time when the Dandy and Beano comics were my early exposure to life - albeit an unrealistic life - outside the cocoon of my home.

My father ensured that the two comics would be delivered to the house every week by the Indian newsagent stall that operated on Dato Kramat Road, opposite from the Kuantan Road junction.

Unfortunately, all my weekly Dandy and Beano comics have been lost because by 1966, I had completely outgrown them. The only evidence I have left from that era is this hardcover The Dandy Book 1966.

“A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”: FDR Asks for a Declaration of War

Posted: 07 Dec 2012 02:55 PM PST

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, stunned virtually everyone in the United States military. Japan's carrier-launched bombers found Pearl Harbor totally unprepared. President Franklin Roosevelt quickly addressed Congress to ask for a declaration of war as illustrated in this audio excerpt. Although he never mentioned Europe or the fact that Germany had by then declared war on the United States, the Pearl Harbor attack allowed him to begin the larger intervention in the European war he had long wanted.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt: Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation, and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleague delivered to our secretary of state a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu. Yesterday the Japanese government also launched as attack against Malaya.

Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam.
Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.
Last night Japanese forces attacked Wake Island.
And this morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. . .

THE PM HAS BEEN LEADING THIS COUNTRY ON A VAGUE IDEA!

1 Malaysia concept vague 'by design', says PM By Martin Jalleh

When Najib Razak first introduced "One Malaysia" to Bolehland, no one except him knew (or we thought he knew) what it really meant. As time passed by his Cabinet ministers and his cohorts chanted the slogan trying to convince the rakyat that they knew what it really meant.

Now, th
ree years later, the man who mooted the concept says he had "deliberately not defined the idea so its meaning could absorb different views over time".

Martin Jalleh responds to Najib's sly stunt.

PM: I didn't define the concept very clearly, but that was by design. I had decided it needed to have an "element of strategic ambiguity" when I introduced it three years ago so that the concept could be broadened to include other views from the public.

MJ: So vague is now the vogue of your premiership, Mr Prime Minister? What a "strategic excuse" when after three years of your tenure 1 Malaysia has become one big absolute joke and being mimicked by your Cabinet and cohorts who pretend to know what it all means!

PM: The concept I envisioned, to promote the idea of inclusiveness among the races, has been translated into policy and was clearly understood now even though some quarters have been sceptical at the onset.

MJ: The results of your vague vision are very clear – never before has this country been so divided by race and religion than now! Indeed, Umno's exclusiveness has never been as evident than now!

PM: They may not see 1 Malaysia as something practised within the entire government system. But then again people must realise this is a journey. (He said this in response to scepticism from the minority races outside the ruling Barisan Nasional's (BN) Malay party, Umno.)
MJ: Indeed, it has been a long journey of flip-flops, farcical transformation, fanciful public relations, fraudulent claims and foolhardy decisions by you and your government, Mr PM.

PM: My idea is more comprehensive than had been previously envisioned by the country's past leaders as I have promoted the fundamental principles and values of social justice, inclusivity and moderation.
MJ: "Social justice, inclusivity and moderation"? Alas, you choose to have only a vague idea of what is really happening in this country, Mr PM. It was only yesterday that you admitted that Umno has not changed. I am sure that you are aware that your party has everything to do with the very opposite of "social justice, inclusivity and moderation" in this country!

PM: This is the first time that we're trying to really define it in terms of the principles and values associated with 1 Malaysia. In the past, people talked about working together, but there was no real operational definition of what that meant.
MJ: In the past, there was no need of sloganeering and rhetoric like yours! We learned to live together, we co-existed, there was interdependence. Then the Umnoputras got greedy and corrupt and began to bleed the country dry. The Malays were mislead, manipulated and made to believe that their sufferings were due to the non-Malays!

MJ: Please note – with each passing day, the future of your premiership is becoming very vague!
