To DAP, moral comes last!

To DAP, moral comes last!

To DAP, moral comes last!

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 08:32 AM PST

In 1998, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang and other DAP top leaders slamned, criticised and made fun of Anwar Ibrahim - a deputy prime minister and Umno deputy president accused of sodomy.

Karpal went a bit further by writing to prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, asking for a full investigation be carried out 'as a future premier must be someone who is morally and legally clean, and with dignity'.

They 'hentam' Anwar because he was still with BN then but when he was expelled from Umno and Cabinet, they took him as their biggest asset. It's good to have a powerful and influential ex-Cabinet member in the opposition camp!

When Anwar was sent to jail, Karpal and friends fought for him, for his freedom and his acquittal. The opportunity got bigger when Wan Azizah formed Parti Keadilan Rakyat as a political vehicle to hit back at Dr Mahathir, Umno and BN.

Anwar was jailed for his first sodomy case and acquitted on the second, a show of a fair trial and the independent of the judiciary, something which the opposition still casts lots of doubt.

However, when PKR, DAP and PAS established Pakatan Rakyat, the issue of moral and dignity doesn't chime anymore, its totally forgotten and 'forgiven' for the sake of power. And the man whom they want to push up as the next prime minister - should PR wins the upcoming general election - in none other Anwar, the man they once condemned as being immoral.

Karpal avows it strong, so are his friends in DAP. PAS, on the other hand, has option. The 'Islamic party' would like to see its president Hadi Awang sits on the premier chair although they don't really oppose to Anwar becoming the big boss of the Cabinet.

Now that DAP wants Anwar as a PM, the question of moral and dignity is immaterial. What's important is to change the government. As Anwar is a Malay and plays a dominant role in the Parliament, he should become No.1.

Furthermore, no other candidates can match him in terms of capability, influence and support. Not even Karpal, Hadi, Kit Siang or Lim Guan Eng possess such a calibre. And the support he gets from some governments and international NGOs is also a good credential.

Why must immorality supersedes all the good values someone should acquire in order to become a leader of a country? What actually do people like Karpal, Kit Siang and Guan Eng see in Anwar after years of backbiting and badmouthing him?

Ask this question to Karpal. What do you think his answer would be? "Anwar was never guilty of anything...not even of sodomy"?

So, that's how Karpal & Friends re-evaluated Anwar. They reiterated their support during the just concluded 16th DAP Congress. They found no fault at all with Anwar, once their strongest political nemesis and the centre of their criticism.

What changed Karpal and the others?

Its all about power, the quest to conquer Putrajaya and unseating PM Najib's government. By hook or by crook, they will work it out despite facing internal discontention in PR itself. By doing so, they themselves are losing moral and dignity.

I don't think PAS members by large will agree to have Anwar as the next prime minister. They would prefer an 'ulama' leads the country.

So, if PR wins the next general elections, a tug-of-war is expected over who is more fit and suitable to head Putrajaya. They question of moral and dignity will not arise.

What is moral value to them, anyway!

Best Kindergarten In Bandar Kinrara for Miki and Separation Anxiety

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 07:46 AM PST

It is 17 Dec 2012 and Miki is officially 4 years and 11 months old. My first born. Grown so big and tall and registered for school.

I have been "shopping" for the right kindergarten for Miki for the past few months. Criteria include best English-medium Islamic school, best accessibility, not heavy on homework etc. Three kindies that fall nicely into that category are Genius Aulad Bandar Kinrara, Lil Caliphs Program at Tadika Restu Ibu, Bandar Kinrara and Brainy Bunch also in Bandar Kinrara.

We visited Genius Aulad personally and the school is very spacious, neat and comfortable. The location is easily accessible, it is facing the Giant Mall in BK 5. The registration fee is about RM1000 plus and monthly fee about RM260 per month for 3 hours of class. I don't plan for Miki to stay for kindergarten and continue with day care. I prefer him to go back to Mama Rose's place and spend time with Rafa until Azman or I come back later and fetch them both home.
We didn't visit Brainy Bunch but had a good discussion with its teachers when they open a booth in Giant Mall

(BTW you guys must be thinking why we go there so often hehe! Actually this is the nearest grocery store for us, nak beli ubat gigi setiub pun pergi Giant Mall, nak jumpa doctor pun klinik kat Giant Mall, nak pergi post office pun situ, pharmacy pun situ, great Thai food pun situ, pizza, KFC, Subway semua kat situ…. Agak-agak contact lens dah kelabu, my optometrist pun kat situu jugakkkkk… pendek kata convenience laa hehe!)

Anyway, I found Brainy Bunch is too heavy on content but they don't teach the kids to read in Bahasa Melayu. This is the first time my son is going to school I was afraid he is going to freak out. Besides after reviewing testimonials from other parents, I'd say Brainy Bunch is very strict tak tentu hala and if I wanted my kid to tetiba pandai menghafal bagai baik hantar aje kat sekolah Cina. For registration, at one shot parents would have to pay about RM2000 for the entire year. Location, near Bandar Kinrara Golf Club.
The last one is Lil Caliphs. It is situated in a corner house behind IPD Serdang in BK 5. Very easily accessible because that is smack right on my route to work. Not heavy on homework, teaches both English and Malay and they have PE outside in the sun every Wednesday. Two registration fees must be paid – RM900+ in Jan and RM800+ in June excluding monthly RM220.

Since I somehow tak berkenan dengan Brainy Bunch, I was only contemplating between Genius Aulad and Lil Caliphs. Price wise all three is cekik darah. LOL! And in the end, we registered Miki for Lil Caliphs Program at Tadika Restu Ibu.
And his first day of school will be 7th January 2013. And I am slapped across the face with a brand new parenting dilemma. Separation anxiety. Which is happening to me. Not Miki.

I guess not so many parents can relate to me. Most are very excited about their kids going to school but I don't know, I am just so emotional about this. My baby, the one who kicks my tummy from inside out, the one who is breast fed for more than a year, the one that adores me to bits, the one that was afraid of me growing old like Opah, the one that is so really manja…. Will reach another milestone in 7th January. And whether I like or not, that kick starts the process of my little baby moving bit by bit… away from me.

Soon he will find lessons his teacher teach more fascinating, the stories his friends tells more captivating, he will find some other guy cooler than his Dad.. Over the years he will feel awkward going out with us. And he will just not notice that I am growing old… just like Opah.

All of these changes starting 7 January 2013.

Emo, I know.

Redha I must be now and I must let go. My child must grow up and be a person of his own. Insya Allah he will be a good person to God , to his family and friends and other people. Miki, no matter how high you want to fly and how far you want to run, fly and run with all your heart. Reach for the stars. Mummy and Daddy will always support you.

And although someday Mummy and Daddy wont be as significant in your life like we do now, you and Rafa will always be most precious gift we have ever gotten in our lives.

Now go school and kick some ass! In Maths! Not in the playground! Haha! We love you so much! May Allah protects you from the harmful world outside.

Love,
Mummy.

Dia Mengaku Sudah Berzina Dengan 30 Kenalan Facebook

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 09:37 AM PST

-hm

Kenari, the transformer…

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 05:54 AM PST

I must say my faithful old Kenari had served me very well ever since I joined Buddies. Not only had it helped me in my visits, it had really been a "multipurpose" vehicle in its true sense.

Ferrying my clients and their children either to the hospital, to go back-to-school shopping, or to attend whatever functions we organise… (sorry, no pics of clients!).

Delivering groceries to poor families…

Carrying materials for our exhibitions…

Collecting toys from donors to be given to the children of our clients…

Delivering bicycles to the children who needs them….

And once even delivering an old heavy mechanical sewing machine to a client who could put it to better use…

Ahh… I so love my Kenari. It had served me well…

Arab Spring: Najib Cemas & Gerun Dengan Kebangkitan Rakyat Di Malaysia

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 07:06 AM PST

Turut hadir Menteri Pengajian Tinggi Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Painfully Heartbreaking

Frankly, it was an emotional experience to read the following article by Connecticut Shooting Victims' Stories Begin To Emerge Associated Press featured in Huffington Post AT THIS LINK. I read it as a mother, as a teacher and as a one with a heart that reaches out to those who lost their loved ones in the recent Connecticut shooting.

Excerpt:

At the very start of their lives, the schoolchildren are remembered for their love of horses, or for the games they couldn't get enough of, or for always saying grace at dinner. The adult victims found their life's work in sheltering little ones, teaching them, caring for them, treating them as their own. The gunfire Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School left a toll both unbearable and incalculable: 20 students and six adults at the school, the gunman's mother at home, and the gunman himself.

A glimpse of some of those who died:

___

CHARLOTTE BACON, 6

They were supposed to be for the holidays, but finally on Friday, after hearing much begging, Charlotte Bacon's mother relented and let her wear the new pink dress and boots to school.

It was the last outfit the outgoing redhead would ever pick out. Charlotte's older brother, Guy, was also in the school but was not shot.

Her parents, JoAnn and Joel, had lived in Newtown for four or five years, JoAnn's brother John Hagen, of Nisswa, Minn., told Newsday.

"She was going to go some places in this world," Hagen told the newspaper. "This little girl could light up the room for anyone."

___

DANIEL BARDEN, 7

Daniel's family says he was "fearless in the pursuit of happiness in life."

He was the youngest of three children and in a statement to the media, his family said Daniel earned his missing two front teeth and ripped jeans.

"Words really cannot express what a special boy Daniel was. Such a light. Always smiling, unfailingly polite, incredibly affectionate, fair and so thoughtful towards others, imaginative in play, both intelligent and articulate in conversation: in all, a constant source of laughter and joy," the family said.

His father, Mark is a local musician. The New Haven Register reported that Mark was scheduled to play a show at a restaurant in Danbury on Friday, a show that was later cancelled.

On the biography on his professional website, Mark Barden lists spending time with his family as his favorite thing to do.
___

RACHEL D'AVINO, 29

Days before the Connecticut shooting rampage, the boyfriend of Rachel D'Avino had asked her parents for permission to marry her.

D'Avino was a behavioral therapist who had only recently started working at the school where she was killed, according to Lissa Lovetere Stone, a friend who is handling her funeral planned for Friday. D'Avino's boyfriend, Anthony Cerritelli, planned to ask her to marry him on Christmas Eve, Lovetere Stone said.

Lovetere Stone said she met D'Avino in 2005 when D'Avino was assigned to her son, who has autism, in their town of Bethlehem. D'Avino, 29, was so dedicated she'd make home visits and constantly offered guidance on handling situations such as helping her son deal with loud music at a wedding.

"Her job didn't end when the school bell rang at 3 o'clock," Lovetere Stone said.

Police told her family that she shielded one of the students during the rampage, Lovetere Stone said.

"I'm heartbroken. I'm numb," Lovetere Stone said. "I think she taught me more about how to be a good mother to a special needs child than anyone else ever had."

Cermin Bas Merdeka Rakyat Pecah Dibaling Samseng Umno

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 03:14 AM PST

-KD

MP: Jangan Keluar Saman Had Laju Sesuka Hati

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 12:38 AM PST

- Bernama

To Msian voters: Learn from Japan

Posted: 17 Dec 2012 04:31 AM PST

The Japanese gave opposition Democrats a chance to make Japan a better country in 2009, ending the Liberal Democratic Party's (LDP) almost 50 years dominance in the government.

However, LDP surged back to power in the just concluded elections and the Democrats were left biting at their own fingers. The peoples had tried the opposition but they failed them despite promising so many things three years ago.

And that's what Pakatan Rakyat is all about!

It is a good lesson for Malaysian voters who will go to the polls soon. From Perikatan to Barisan Nasional, the ruling coalition has proven its worthiness in all aspects. If the rakyat give a chance to Pakatan Rakyat, I am sure the end result would be devastating, as had been the case in Japan's Democratic Party.

Learn from history. In many countries (except the US where Republicans and Democracts 'love' to switch power), the opposition usually fails to proof a better political team. They eventually succumbed to their words and over-zealous move.
TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's conservative Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) surged back to power in an election on Sunday just three years after a devastating defeat, giving ex-Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a chance to push his hawkish security agenda and radical economic recipe.
An LDP win will usher in a government committed to a tough stance in a territorial row with China, a pro-nuclear energy policy despite last year's Fukushima disaster and a potentially risky prescription for hyper-easy monetary policy and big fiscal spending to beat deflation and tame a strong yen.
A TV Asahi projection based on counted votes gave the LDP at least 291 seats in parliament's 480-member lower house, and together with its small ally, the New Komeito party, a two-thirds majority needed to override, on most matters, the upper house, where no party has majority.
That would help break a policy deadlock that has plagued the world's third biggest economy since 2007.The Democrats swept to power in 2009 promising to pay more heed to consumers and break up the "iron triangle" of the powerful bureaucracy, business and politicians formed during more than half a century of almost unbroken LDP rule.
Many voters had said the DPJ failed to meet election pledges as it struggled to govern and cope with last year's huge earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster, and pushed through an unpopular sales tax increase with LDP help.
If we want changes, BN will make the changes. PR has no excperience in managing a county like Malaysia.

So, be wise (am I campaigning?... whatever lar but I don't want to imagine Anwar as our next PM!)

Kuota Wanita : BN Hanya Merapu, Tetapi Melaksakannya, PR Yang Mampu

Posted: 16 Dec 2012 11:00 PM PST

-selangorku

How Spacing Can Make Such A Difference

Posted: 16 Dec 2012 10:00 PM PST

Thanks to SKT who sent me the following joke which I am sharing just for laughs.

A secretary got a very nice and expensive pen as a gift from her boss.

She sent him a 'Thank you note by email'.

The Boss' wife read the mail and filed a divorce in court.

The mail says: 'Your pen*s wonderful. I enjoyed using it last night. It has extra ordinary smooth flow,
and firm strokes. Initially its tip had to be licked to bring it to working order and it is equally good on
both sides. I loved its perfect feel, size and grip. Felt like I was in heaven when using it. I've always
desired for it and you have now fulfilled my wish. At last it is mine and mine forever. Thanks a lot."

What she meant to write was Your pen is wonderful.

Moral: Spacing is an extremely essential part in English. And so is personal spell-checking for typing errors.

Ya Allah..Save Us..Ameen

Posted: 16 Dec 2012 11:12 PM PST

From yesterday, there was this countdown to Doomsday...prowling on the blogs, internet and FB has made my heart palpitate extra stronger.
Hearing from friends about National Geo Channel airing something to do with it topped my anxiety.

Lets just console our unwarranted, ridiculous fears.
Doomsday for us is when we sipped our last breath of air.
Irregardless of the scary doomsday drum beatings, we are all supposed to be perpetually ready as much as possible to meet our Maker..not because of some grosteque Mayan forecast or whatever NASA says.

We believe in Allah SWT and nothing else!
Only Allah SWT knows when kiamat is going to happen.
Probably many of us would be dead by then.
So just persist hard and diligently with our everyday doas for ourselves and our loved ones.

May Allah SWT have Mercy on us, Protect us, Bless our lives with lots of happiness duniawi, and make us amongst those selected for Paradise Hereafter to join Rasullullah and his companions..
Ameen.

Reading about good old DAP..the great pretenders!
Nothing new..they are anti-Malays.
They have been like that since last time God knows when.

They do not have to trick us with their knucklehead Malay members 'camouflage'.
DAP fight is specifically for the Chinese.
It comes as no surprise..it's an open secret!

DAP is a 'main pondok2' political party.
It belongs to the Lims.
They founded the party.
As such, they pick and choose and play God to those they favour and trust.
Like a business company, they want to run the party specifically for their solid interests first, their race and just maybe..they'll have a teeny-weeny bit of sympathy for us Malays.
DAP is a profit-making business entity mainly for the Chinese community.
They just want to enrich and look after the interests of only the Chinese race.

It's simply so obvious..at least they are frank.
We thank them for making their feelings as clear as crystal..
And if MCA is silently gleeful, but pretending that it is not supportive of DAP's aims, then we better kick out MCA too..we do not need traitors!
We seldom hear them condeming DAP.
Come on MCA..wake up!
Where's your loyalty? Where's your BN voice?
Aren't we suppose to battle and cooperate as a powerful multiracial coalition?
Where's the sink and swim together thing??

Whereas UMNO is openly and verbally tough on PAS and PKR, we hardly hear MCA thrashing out DAP.
We cannot afford double-faced component parties.
And that goes for any other race component parties within BN.

Don't leave the fighting to Helen Ang the blogger.
Sorry Helen..sometimes I do wonder whether you're just writing because you're paid to do so.
Otherwise..my sincerest apologies..nothing personal.

Where's MCA, MIC and the rest of the component parties' top guns??
Hopefully we do not have too many hypocrites mingling around us.
Otherwise we're really doomed alright.

We brave and bright-minded Malays can whack each other as much as possible.
At the end of the day, we must unite aggressively against our common enemy who are out to demean our race and make us become the beggars of our homeland.
Our Malay leaders irregardles from whichever political belief, who have failed our trust must be ultimately removed.
Nevertheless, it's too bad..accept the reality.
BN is still the best political recipe for the rakyat..
BN works extra harder to accommodate and please our many Malaysian races.

It's truly not exactly about PKR or PAS anymore..it's totally about the sinister DAP.
They have been waiting for their victory to conquer and be the 'boss' in Malaysia.
But we do sober down easily.
Together, we Muslim Malays must unite and retaliate back..
We are not meek people..do not think we'll just keep quiet and be cowards..

This is Malaysia..the land of the Malays.
We understand the feelings of the Chinese but how much more must we give in?
The Chinese must not be too greedy..we majority Malays are a downtrodden lot..look around.
We have always been the generous muka tembok race and we accept that overall, the Chinese are richer, cleverer, more hardworking and the list of praises goes on and on..*sigh*
Malays generally have always been the second/third class citizens!
And so if DAP wants more, we will not concede further...enough!

Never ever dare construe our seemingly lack-lustre and indifferent attitude are like garbage.

Seriously, must we Malays be reminded that DAP has gone too bold and very pushy?
DAP is becoming more of a rogue party..an over confident, arrogant, selfish monster in the making.

It's up to us all..every single Muslim and all Malays..plus the tolerant, peace-loving rakyat.
We must all vote for BN..
Give BN one more last chance to buck up and help our agama, bangsa dan negara..
And BN better do it right this time..no more gargantuan mistakes!

Opening a locked door

Posted: 16 Dec 2012 08:30 PM PST

My aunt, that is, my father's sister, who stays with us, is getting long in her years. Just about a week ago, she accidentally locked herself out of her bedroom. Without realising that she had pressed the lock, she closed the door and could not let herself in after that. She called out to my wife and I. What were we to do? We aren't locksmiths and so, we do not have the tools of their trade.

Like a wise guy, I suggested banging my shoulder onto the door, hoping that the force could somehow dislodge the mechanism. Not so wise. After several failed attempts, I gave up. My shoulders were sore. So much for the cops and robbers shows we see on television. Nothing like that ever works in real life.

Telephone calls to friends and relatives proved fruitless as well. Nobody knew how to open a locked door. So I told my aunt, you may have to sleep on the sofa tonight. She gave me a kind of look. Sure-lah, I told her, "Why didn't you give me a duplicate key to keep? Why keep everything to yourself? It's not as if you have anything valuable worth stealing. Now you see what happened? Not only are you locked out, most probably I will have to get you a new door knob next week." Actually, I was being wickedly harsh. Maybe not nice to scare a dear old woman but sometimes, got to make sure the message sinks in too.

Anyway, one last resort before she actually had to sleep on the sofa in the living room. I unbent a wire clip and slipped it into the knob. Just a last resort. I wasn't very confident that it would ever work, knowing that a lock such as this would have unseen tumblers inside.

I pushed in the wire and jiggled it left, right, left, right, forward, backward, every which way I could think of and all the time, applying slight pressure on the door and turning the door knob too when suddenly, the door opened. I can still remember my relief, my joy. But I can't quite remember whether I felt any mechanism giving way inside the door knob. Fuck, I couldn't give any more damn when the knob turned and the door opened. Success, finally. But don't ask me to do it again. Most probably, it will not work again...

The Meaning Behind Those Colours

Posted: 16 Dec 2012 07:06 PM PST

Thanks to SKT who sent me this article written by Prof Dr PC Ang.

The Colour of Urine

Yellow
"Healthy urine goes from clear to pale yellow, dark yellow to amber," says consultant urologist Tim Terry. This depends on hydration levels, but if you're somewhere in the yellow team, you can breathe easy.

Green
"Some antiseptics and anaesthetics give urine a green tinge," says Terry. This is thanks to methylene blue, a dye which kidneys sometimes struggle with. Nothing too much to worry about though.

Orange
"This is a sign of liver dysfunction," warns Terry. If your urine is this colour and you notice that your stools are white, it could be obstructive jaundice. Put down that beer – it's GP time.

Brown
Muddy-looking pee means kidney problems. "This can be a sign of serious renal disease, even a fistula," says Terry. That's when your bowel leaks into your bladder. Taxi to casualty now.

Red
This is really bad. Blood in your urine can mean a haemorrhage or cancer. "In anyone over 40 we assume it's bladder cancer, unless proven other wise," says Terry. Get yourself to the doctor, pronto.
