Les Miserable @ New Year Day

Hello my fellow readers,

HAPPY NEW YEAR, May you have a brighter and happier year 2013

Anyway, My friends have asked me out for a movie @ Sunway Pyramid on the First day of the Year. They waited for me to come back from Vietnam to watch this movie together. :)

According to multiple reviews and spoilers... this movie has its own unique way of presentation. Some people said this movie is boring, some say this movie is very good... So it's a mix review. I think this movie is interesting if you really enjoy and appreciate the broadway musical. I personally found it interesting, touchy and not boring.

If you are feeling down and watching this movie, I bet you will be touch even deep especially the scene when Anne Hathaway sings I dreamed a dream. My tear nearly dropped cause i listen word by word clearly... Anyone has the same feeling?

Another great song is Do You Hear The People Sing? which sing by a group of revolutionists, I can feel their enthusiastic and encouragement to fight for a change which brought them towards the hope of freedom... My fellow people of Malaysia... are we gonna sing the same song?

The finale was the most touching part of the whole movie... My tear dropped when came to this scene. Overall, the whole movie is so good... Worth to watch :)

What do you think?

[EDISI TERDESAK] UMNO Mainkan Politik Perkauman & Ugama Fitnah ADUN Sekincan

Posted: 01 Jan 2013 09:04 AM PST

Ulasan GB

Budaya samseng, mencarut, memaki, politik perkauman, fitnah... tu semua dah menjadi talian hayat terakhir golongan UMNO BN.

Berwaspadalah!

Gang raped in bus at Delhi after watching Life of Pi?

Blood on its hands after Delhi gangrape, India needs to act now

by Dec 29, 2012

This is a moment to mourn. But grieve with anger in our hearts. And remorse. And yes, do look down at your hands. Because they are red. Blood red.
All of us today have blood on our hands. Because despite the chilling statistic of a rape every 20 minutes, we took it in our stride in our third-rate obnoxious chalta hai attitude, as if it was okay for people on our streets and inside our homes to turn beasts thrice in an hour. This is a moment not to rest in peace. Because it is our attitude of moving on with life that has caused this terrible tragedy. This is not the time to revel in that meaningless phrase called 'resilient spirit'.
Just think of the parents now in that Singapore hospital. Surrounded by strangers in a faraway land, with no one in whose bosom they can cry their heart out. The government, to prevent a violent backlash, took the political decision to move the girl away. While the political establishment can conveniently claim it had the victim's well-being at heart, everyone knew it was only wishing away potential trouble from an India that has looked incensed for the past 12 days.
Hospital staff carry the body of the gangrape victim to the police morgue vehicle at the Mount Elizabeth hospital in Singapore. AFP
Think of the mother who would have smiled looking for the first time into the face of the little baby girl she gave birth to. Think of the father who would have cradled her for the first time nervously but with a great degree of pride. Think of her brother. Their memories of the many, many moments of togetherness.
Think of them now. India needs to know and imagine what they must be going through now as they hug a lifeless body, wrapped in black. A young life brought to this horrible, abrupt end by six men who subjugated her to their perverted sense of manhood in a moving bus in Delhi. Almost as if cocking a snook at all of us, daring us if we can really do anything about it.
Her family will have to now carry her once again, for one last time on their shoulders. To say they would have died a thousand deaths would be an understatement. What does India say to her mother? As a nation given more to cacophony and chest-beating than real action on the ground, we have failed miserably and exposed our impotence.
We are all sentimental and emotional about the murder of a girl and the violation of her dignity – and understandably so – but India will have to treat this death as a wake-up call. And resolve to show zero tolerance towards sexual harassment and violation of dignity. Of any kind.
What can you and I do? Here are 10 things:
1. True homage to the 23-year-old will be if the next time we see a girl being harassed or a child being abused, we do not look the other way. Reach out to intervene, help. Treat such acts with the strong societal scorn and disapproval it deserves. Whether it is the sensational Srilakshmi case in Vijayawada in 2004, where the girl was stabbed in front of her classmates by a man whose overtures were spurned by her or the acid attack case in Warangal in 2008, the girls had complained to the college authorities, the parents, the police. But it didn't work.
2. Stop advising girls and women to take acts in their stride that which we have insisted on indulgently labelling 'eve-teasing'. Those are early warning signals. Pay heed to them and act to instil a healthy respect of the law and the woman, if not putting the fear of punishment in those indulging in it. Those murderers on the bus did not turn rapists overnight. Repeat offences and no deterrence would have progressively emboldened them.
3. Every rapist is a mother's son. I am not saying this with the intent of blaming any mother, but because she is our biggest hope for change and influence. Let every mother make a conscious effort to recognise traits and habits that may be the reason for concern and worry. Speak up, get help for your child before it is too late. The responsibility is also with the teacher and the school. Not to label any child but to identify what may be problematic issues and create an environment where corrections can happen. Those formative years are the time when characters are etched out.
4. A lot has been spoken and written over the past two weeks over how we are a deeply patriarchal society and blaming our 'culture', the way men (or boys) are brought up in Indian families. An Abhijit Mukherjee, Anisur Rehman, Botsa Satyanarayana or even a Mamta Banerjee only hold a mirror to us and reflect our societal attitudes. These individuals are visible, so at this time they got noticed and blamed for their acts of indiscretion. Getting them to say 'sorry' is to buy temporary peace. Nothing inside probably changes. Not the attitude, nor the thought. They are only careful not to say it again. We need short-term and long-term changes to address that.
5. Someone joked that it is time one half of our society doesn't step out of home past 9 pm to ensure the safety of women. The men, that is. It's not that crimes occur only in the cover of darkness. But it is time to also confront the dark. Ensure safety in public places and transport. We need to invest in that. Both in infrastructure and in technology that can serve as a deterrent. Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit took on Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar over policing issues. Surely, those who operate buses in Delhi and the blatant violations by the mafia involved are surely neither unknown to her nor beyond her jurisdiction.
6. Take on the wolves who come out, hunting sometimes alone, sometimes in packs. India has been advocating the law of the jungle to be adopted in getting rid of such wolves. In a so-called civilised, democratic set-up that is not the solution. What we need is laws that are implemented, time-bound trials, quick justice and punishment. So there is fear of the law in potential violators. We also need to invest heavily in technology to prevent such crimes.
7. The proposed national database of rape convicts is welcome. What we need is a master register with the DNA profiles of regular or known offenders, so that we can quickly zero in on culprits, reach psychological help and treatment or lock them away in case they are too dangerous to be let loose.
8. Fast-track courts and helpline numbers cannot be for Delhi alone. That city may have earned for itself the unfortunate sobriquet of a "rape capital"  but sexual offences are happening everywhere and we need helplines and PCRs to reach out and fast. What we could also seriously consider is to have CCTV cameras at police stations monitored at random or round-the-clock by independent, certified agencies to make sure police stations function the way they are meant to, showing sensitivity and concern and registering complaints.
9. There is no reason for us to believe that women may be more sensitive to gender issues but there is certainly a case for having more women in uniform. Presently their representation in the uniformed force hasn't crossed single digits. A conscious effort by the government to increase their numbers has not worked out. An example: Andhra Pradesh's Home Minister said they had recently tried to recruit 2000 women, even relaxing norms. They were not able to get more than 400 women.
10. A study conducted in 2007 showed that at least 52 percent of our children suffer sexual abuse in some form or the other. A majority of rapes happen within homes and are perpetrated by people related or known to the victim. There is also research to show that those who are violated and subjected to abuse as children often grow up to be offenders themselves. We need to talk about and address this. First within our families and then our society. Encourage victims to speak out. Break the conspiracy of silence.
The night the 23-year-old was gangraped in Delhi, she was returning with her friend after reportedly watching the film Life of Pi, a film about hope. India needs to realise she gave her life in the hope that she leaves behind a more awakened India.

Another Nicer Year..InsyaAllah.

Sometimes we tend to forget about our precious clock ticking to a standstill..
It does haunt us once in a while..or often..
We're so lulled with our worldly responsibilities, the good and bad desires yearning to be fulfilled.

After our solats, we seek HIS forgiveness and repent.
We crave and pray loads of happiness for our loved ones.

When HE doesn't seem to answer all our prayers, we get depressed and wonder what the hell did we do wrong..we actually forget to reflect upon or acknowledge our long list of sins.

Ujian Allah..Allah menguji kita..ada hikmahnya..
InsyaAllah.

I have been told of this soothing reminder countless of times and I've fed the same lines to comfort others too..
If Allah don't love you, HE will Not Test you.

And during this Tests, have we managed to pass or fail?
Do we weep silently?

If our problems are still persisting and not solved yet, then...
Sometimes, I wish I can fight off this feeling of disdain that creeps so easily within.
May Allah forgive me.

May all my children including H and his family, be blessed with longevity, continuous good health, be very/modestly pious, attained successful, well-paid jobs and eternally share the beautiful love of their wonderful, immediate families.
InsyaAllah InsyaAllah..Ameen.

May Allah SWT bestow me additional courage, cleverness and boldness this new year..
Ameen

Life on earth is always a Test.
We get plunged into all kinds of crazy, hurtful, embarassing and disappointing situations.
I do at times stumble into this dark pit of despair and have to grope madly to climb my way out.
Astaghfirullahhal'azeem.

May many of us be chosen as amongst those strongly treading on the path to Paradise Hereafter..
Ameen.

[VIDEO] Empangan Paya Peda Besut Pecah, Siapa Bertanggungjawab Bayar Kerugian Penduduk?

Posted: 01 Jan 2013 03:12 AM PST

Menteri Besar Terengganu Dato' Ahmad Said membuat kenyataan bahawa empangan terpaksa dipecahkan demi mengurangkan risiko tekanan.

Di sini, Dewan Pemuda PAS Malaysia ingin mempersoalkan ;

Kenapa terdapat percanggahan di antara kenyataan

1 Dato' Ahmad Said dengan kenyataan jurutera KETARA, Ir Wee Yit Ming?

Seorang Penduduk Dakwa Kena Tipu RM3,000 Untuk Dapatkan Rumah PPRT

Posted: 01 Jan 2013 12:36 AM PST

-yusofwahab

Rain & Kim Tae-hee dating?

Posted: 31 Dec 2012 06:42 PM PST

Korean tabloid Dispatch [Kr] secured a big scoop on New Year's Day, with "evidence" that popular singer Rain and actress Kim Tae-hee are in relationship.

Korean couple Rain Kim Tae Hee dating

The photos they published are hardly conclusive (no hand-holding etc), but Dispatch has a pretty "good" track record exposing celebrities' romance, there's a decent probability that the two are really dating (for 3-4 months according to report).

Regardless, Happy New Year.

My New Year wish

Posted: 31 Dec 2012 05:36 PM PST

Uhm, good morning. I know that many of you visitors are expecting to find all sorts of fun, bright or interesting static or even interactive graphics celebrating the New Year in every new post that appears on blogs on the first day of a new year. Well, sorry, I don't have them. Always a graphics noob, I find it a problem trying to design something new and I loathe copying other people's work. Gave it up several years ago when I found it difficult to grapple with graphics programs. Even Microsoft's Paint program can cause me difficulties at times. Duh is the word to describe me! So let me just shout out a simple Happy New Year text message, and may you enjoy great happiness and blessings in 2013.

But I do know what I want to wish for on the first day of the brand new year. It is for the Province Wellesley Municipal Council (Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Prai, MPSP, to those people who don't know what I'm referring to) to show more efficiency in their work. Why do I say this? It's because last night, I shot off an email to aduan@mpsp.gov.my to complain about their workers not doing their job in my neighbourhood.

Of all the roads in my neighbourhood, the cleanliness of my road has been neglected by the road sweepers. Don't get me wrong: I do see the MPSP workers sweep the roads in my housing area but in the eight years that I've been staying in Bukit Mertajam, I have only noticed them sweeping my road once. (Maybe that's my - wait for it: The Malaysian Insider's Word of the Year - "perception". I don't normally wait to look at life crawling by past my windows.) And that came only after my wife had spoken to someone at the Council and somebody popped along to my house almost immediately to ask me whether I had any complaint to make. I said: "Yes, I need your people to sweep this road." And off he went. And you know what? The next morning, I noticed these two fellas sweeping the road. Never noticed them coming back ever since....

Of course, this does not mean that the condition of the road is in a mess. On the contrary, the residents along the road have been doing the upkeep of the areas outside our own houses by ourselves. But this cannot go on forever. We, as ratepayers, want the MPSP to do their job efficiently, what with the Cleaner, Greener Penang tagline the state has adopted. So can we have that from you please, MPSP?

Speaking of the country's biggest municipal council, I went to their headquarters yesterday afternoon in order to pay the assessment bill on my property. Why didn't I do it online, as inquired by some friends on facebook, people like Jeffrey, Mah Jin Khai, Ted Targosz, Ong Chong Eu and Steven Sim. Well, the MPSP had an offer to place ratepayers who pay their Year 2013 assessment in full before the end of 2012 into a lucky draw contest this month or next month. As the prizes seemed to be quite attractive enough, why not give it a shot and go settle my assessment bill in full?

Apparently, hundreds of people must have had the same idea too. The moment I stepped into the building at 3.06p.m. and pressed the queue button for my ticket, this chit of paper came out: my number in the queue was 6937 but the number that was being served was 6574. I tell you, it did not have to take a mathematics professor to deduce that there were 363 people ahead of me, all wanting and waiting to pay their bills because of the magical deadline for the lucky draw. And there were a few people in the crowd who were visibly holding on to three or four or more assessment bills to pay at the same time. Who says that only the Singaporeans are kiasu? Nah, this was an original trait of the Malayans and the Malaysians, but now proudly proclaimed by the Singaporeans to be theirs.

So I settled down into a chair. Having driven through one end of Bukit Mertajam to the other in heavy traffic, I was determined to stay put here in the MPSP hall until my number was called at the payment counters. Yessiree, no way was I giving up my chance of a lucky draw. Luckily I had the presence of mind to arm myself with the ipad in which I could read my online newspapers in peace. In peace, that is, if I can ignore the people looking over my shoulders.

Gradually the crowd started to dwindle as time moved on. Most had disappeared because their bills had been paid; many having paid their bills were lingering to be registered for the lucky draw and claim their free gift from the Council as well; and a few were left still waiting to willingly empty their pockets into the Council's coffers. I glanced at the wall counter. My number was slowing coming up. It was almost like waiting for the year-end countdown at the Esplanade or Gurney Drive or Straits Quay or up Penang Hill, only that this wasn't much exciting at all. By the time my number was called, it was about 5.10p.m. Ten minutes later, I was out of the MPSP building, clutching a booklet of parking coupons (that's all?), a reward for my patience, sufferance, endurance, perseverance, staying power and kiasuism. Don't you think so? Please agree with me, won't you?

2012 - Tahun Pendedahan Skandal & Salah Tadbir BN

Posted: 31 Dec 2012 05:14 PM PST

Skandal Pusat Fidlot Kebangsaan (NFC)

- Ibu segala skandal melibatkan dana sejumlah RM250 juta.

Demonstrasi Lynas, Kuantan

- Kumpulan anti kilang radioaktif Lynas membentuk NGO Himpunan Hijau.

Standing On The Shore

Posted: 31 Dec 2012 02:30 PM PST

Standing On The Shore

Standing on the shore,
Nothing you can achieve.
Doers jump in the sea,
For the pearls they wish to reap.
Deep the sea, deeper is the struggle,
Deep is the struggle, deeper is the gain.
Bigger the challenge, lesser the doers,
Being a doer, you can be a winner.
Those who keep far,
From challenges and work.
Winners they never are,
Doing nothing they always lurk
When you have the courage,
When you possess the zest.
Your destiny will turn,
Passing every test.
To a future you make with your hands,
Being the designer of your destiny.
Holding the time like gravels of sand,
Can never be of any use.
As time has to pass and,
You are to choose,
To put efforts all that you can,
Or to lose.
So get up and have,
Faith in yourself.
As you are the only one,
To fight for your glee.
Since,
Standing on the shore,
Least you can achieve.
Doers jump in the sea,
