The hidden hands behind Sulu infiltration...

The hidden hands behind Sulu infiltration...

The hidden hands behind Sulu infiltration...

Some people may ask, whose turf is it? I mean, managing the infiltration of about 300 followers of Philippine's Sultan Jamalul Kiram III (pic) in Lahad Datu, Sabah. Is it our police or the armed forces?

I think its the police business which comes directly under Home Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. However, too many people took to the stage in giving statements and making comments. In the end, it looks really ugly and disorganised!

Ooppsss... sorry, no heart feeling.

The issue here is a question only a few people could answer - are Malaysians involved in 'bringing in' the Pinoys? Its very, very intriguing indeed. Why must it happen now and not few years ago or later (after the general election)?

The whole drama seems to have been scripted by someone from both sides. Who could it be? There are Malaysian politicians having good connection with them, especially someone who is close to Nur Misuari, a person who has been showing a great deal of sympathy and support for their cause.

I believe the public knows who he is, the great ally of former Philippine president Joseph Estrada. Even the timing of the infiltration came he was bestowed the highest award of Sabah's Kadazandusun tribe, a week after that!

What's the motive anyway?

The infamous 'Hose Rizal' of Malaysia - after rebutting Tun Dr Mahathir's allegation that he was involved in the 'IC project' for Filipinos in Sabah during the mid 1990s - needs support, more than the peoples of Sabah could afford.

However, he is giving away that piece of land in Sabah for them to settle and stay, for free. Have he and Sultan Kiram met before? Read what the Sultan Sulu said:
MANILA (AFP) - Followers of a Philippine sultan who crossed to the Malaysian state of Sabah this month will not leave and are reclaiming the area as their ancestral territory, the sultan said on Sunday amid a tense stand-off.
Sultan Jamalul Kiram said his followers - some 400 people, including 20 gunmen - were resolute in staying despite being cornered by security forces, with the Kuala Lumpur government insisting the group return to the Philippines.
"Why should we leave our own home? In fact, they (the Malaysians) are paying rent (to us)," he told reporters in Manila.
"Our followers will stay in (the Sabah town of) Lahad Datu. Nobody will be sent to the Philippines. Sabah is our home," he said.

Let's hear to what Sabahans got to say about it. Will they opt for the opposition in the next general election?

Manila still has claims over Sabah. Is this part of the massive 'Sabah for the Philippines' plan?

"Hijab Adalah Maruah Saya" - Siswi Yang Tudungnya Ditarik Samseng UMNO

Samseng tarik tudung, penjelasan Nor Fatehah

*Nor Fatehah Ahmad.

300 Buddhists Attacked A Muslim Religious School in Yangon

300 Buddhists Attacked A Muslim Religious School in Yangon. M-Media February 17, 2013 By Aye Maung

This is the result of government's inaction on Islamophobic Hate Speeches metamorphosing the Myanmars into Ultra-Nationalists. And the defect in the Municipal's letter dated Sunday, holiday, shows the government servants helping the mob. If U Thein Sein fail to arrest those leaders in demonstration against the Muslims and the corrupt Municipal authorities, this could be used as an evidence against him later.
A crowd of about 300 Buddhists attacked a Muslim Religious  school in Yangon this morning. The crowd also attacked Muslims who tried to stop the violence.

The school is located between 18th and 19th street in Thar Ka Ta township. As permitted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the school has existed since 2001 and it now requires fixing the roof.

After receiving necessary permission from the municipal authority, the school administrators started repairing the roofs. But the Section In-charge or Sae Ein Mu (literal meaning: the person who is in-charge of 10 houses) was upset about it, and some extremists started the attack, followed by other residents.

A Buddhist eyewitness said, "The crowd attacked the school by saying 'Kalar are perky. They are trying to make the small one into a big one. They can't do like that. Kalars have to be kicked out from the land of Myanmar'".

During the attack, there were two police. They told the crowd that the school would be demolished after two weeks, but the crowd did not listen.

M-Media learns that the mob also attacked a Muslim man who was then saved by the police.

Tin Maung Than, secretary general of Islamic Affairs Council who was also a member of the Arakan conflict investigation commission, arrived in the area and asked Sae Ein Mu about the event.

Being upset, Sae Ein Mu said 'attack, attack' and some members of the crowd punched and attacked Tin Maung Than and his colleague, Zaw Min Latt.

According to a representative from a Muslim organization, five major Muslim organizations in Myanmar are holding a meeting about the violence today. They will address the case and also report it to Nay Pyi Daw.

The organizations are also discussing about The Voice Weekly Journal's erratic reporting. Instead of saying the roof repair, The Voice reported as 'building a new mosque', leading to public anger.

The Buddhist majority in Myanmar are again He added that public swearing and anti-Muslim comments are appearing again on The Voice's Facebook Page. Nyi Win is worried that anti-Muslim mobilization will spread across the country via the internet.

Get Well Soon, Fei Por!

Posted: 17 Feb 2013 05:21 AM PST

We got a call from this hospital this morning. The veterinarian said that Fei Por had stopped breathing but was revived. She was on a ventilator and that she was in a bad shape. Even before the vet could finish, I cut in to say we would be there immediately.

It was a long journey. Many thoughts were running in our minds. Would Fei Por be still alive when we reached there?

At the hospital, Wuan went to see Fei Por first. She came back telling me that Fei Por was still alive. That was a great relief. Still, I wanted to see her for myself.

The moment I entered the room, I could not contain my emotions and started crying. She was lying on the table with an oxygen mask on her face. A intravenous drip was running into her right front leg. She was such a sorry sight.

Sick cat

Wuan caressed her. She was not very responsive but we know she could hear us. We talked gently to her like we always did at home while waiting for the vet.

The prognosis was not good. Her blood test results showed that she was badly dehydrated and that she may have kidney failure. Another blood test will be done a few days later to confirm her kidney problems of she survives. She was stable at the moment and the vet took her off the oxygen.

Fei Por had come with a kitten one day in 2007 and has stayed on since. She had two more litters but none of her offsprings survived. We had her neutered after her last litter. We cannot be sure how old she is now but estimate her to be at least 8 years old.

We had tried to bring her into the house but she never liked it. After a few days inside, she would sit by the door and asked to be let out.

When we adopted Cheeky in 2008, Fei Por took it upon herself to look after him. She would groom him at every available opportunity. Cheeky got very attached to her. He would sleep beside her whenever she was inside the house.

Sometime late last year, Wuan noticed that Fei Por was getting old and decided to get her live in the house again. This time, she came in and never asked to be let out. She seemed happy then.

When we took the cats back from boarding on Tuesday, we noticed that they had no appetite. Fei Por vomitted several times. We let them be because we thought that it was from the stress of being boarded with other cats.

Fei Por became restless on Thursday. She kept climbing onto the window. I asked Wuan to let her out. Unfortunately, it rained very heavily that day. I got worried and kept calling out to her but she did not return.

She came back early the next morning as Wuan was getting ready for work. Wuan was in the kitchen when Cheeky went to her and got her to follow him. He lead her to the main door.

Fei Por was crouched outside. Her fur was all bedraggled. She looked tired. We planned to take her to the vet when Wuan got back from work that evening. However, Wuan was tied up in the office and got back very late.

We finally managed to take her to the vet yesterday morning. The vet said that she was badly dehydrated and was not sure if she could pull through.

We hope she will. We pray she will. Cheeky has been missing her since. We are missing her too.

Get well soon, old lady! We are all rooting for you.

[VIDEO] Haramjadah Terus Menimpa Najib: Anwar Disambut Lebih Meriah

-mk

Time lapse video of KL, Malaysia by Rob Whitworth!

Time lapse photographer releases stunning video of KL

Yahoo NewsroomBy Marc Lourdes | Yahoo Newsroom – Mon, Oct 15, 2012
5 months. 400 hours of solid work. 4 cameras. 40 shoots. 640 gigabytes of file space. 19,997 photographs.

That's how much work architectural photographer Rob Whitworth put in to create his dazzling 2 minute 36 second time lapse video of Kuala Lumpur.

When asked why he chose to create a time lapse video of Malaysia's largest metropolis, Whitworth's response is that Kuala Lumpur fascinates him.

"It's hard not to be blown away by the Petronas Twin Towers. At night they are just beautiful. The towers, together with the monorail, give the city an almost science fiction feel.
"I was fascinated by the city's mixture of super-modern buildings existing alongside its varied cultural enclaves and with a little of Asia's chaos thrown in,"he tells Yahoo! Malaysia.

Whitworth, who works out of Singapore, says time lapse has always interested him. He recalls one of his first high school projects, which was to document the passing of time by photographing flowers and fruit in their prime and revisiting them a few weeks later.

"I was intrigued at how many things constantly go on all around us which pass by largely unnoticed. Time lapse provides a great way to use a camera to show the world as we cannot see it," he says.

His love affair with time lapse videos has won him critical acclaim. A recent video of Ho Chi Minh City posted online went viral and garnered 1.5 million views. That same video also won the Jury Award at the recent EcoKnights KL Eco Film Festival.

Whitworth says he was drawn to the idea of exploring how Kuala Lumpur changes from day to night when he began his project here.

"I was walking down Jalan Alor shortly after arriving in KL. It struck me how much the street changed and transformed during the course of the day.

"I liked the idea of exploring how the city changes from day to night, how spaces dramatically change during the course of a few hours. This developed into one of the themes shown in the video of scenes switching from day to night," he says.

But enough talk. Here's Whitworth's tribute to Malaysia's modern marvel. Watch it for yourself and bask in the city's radiance.

Najib Bakal Keluar Dari Putrajaya Dengan Lenggang "Gangnam Style"?

Posted: 17 Feb 2013 03:57 AM PST

Riding out of Putrajaya 'Gangnam style'?

Feb 11, 2013 in the Chinese metaphysics calendar was labelled as "Destruction Day" and no doubt it was disastrous for Barisan Nasional as Najib Tun Razak failed to increase his popularity despite getting South Korean artiste Psy to come to Malaysia to entertain the Penang crowd.

There were three major disasters for the prime minister on that day:

1. Pronouncing the name of the venue as "Han Yang" when it should be "Han Chiang";

2. Failing to get Psy to come onstage to stir the "yee sang" – traditional do for Chinese New Year; and,

3. Getting rejected three times by the Penang crowd.

Najib's advisers certainly did make a mess of things by failing to inform him that the name of the concert venue was the Han Chiang Chinese school ground and not "Han Yang", thus causing him to be booed several times by the crowd due to mispronunciation.

Failing to get Psy to come on stage for the "yee sang" do was worst as it was obvious for all to see because the master of ceremonies had called Psy's name several times.

And of course asking the crowd whether it was were ready for BN was certainly a bone-headed move because it opens oneself to attack. Najib had to sheepishly become the master of ceremonies to conceal the faux pas thereafter by inviting Psy to come onstage for his performance to sing his famous hit "Oppa Gangnam Style".

"For the prime minister, this is the second major embarrassment to go viral on the social media after the 'Listen, listen, listen' episode. If Najib was thinking of dissolving Parliament this month, he has to think again," said PAS Pokok Sena MP, Mahfuz Omar.

"Those in Umno who dislike Najib must be having a good laugh at the misfortunes that he and his wife seem to be facing. Najib is now a liability to Umno and Dr Mahathir [Mahathir] must be getting worried with the recent developments. The latter can even knock his head on the wall in frustration at seeing Najib's stupidity on Feb 11," he said.

Mahfuz is also of the view that Najib can switch careers after the 13th general election as the latter has already acted in a Chinese New Year advertorial and also played a role as the master of ceremonies during Psy's concert.

Fed up of PKR's Batu MP, Tian Chua, had commented that the expensive concert has failed to get the crowd to support BN. He also noted that a majority of the crowd only came to watch Psy's performance and many of them left after Psy had performed.

DAP's Taiping MP, Nga Kor Ming, opined that "we, the rakyat, are fed up of BN which is always trying to hoodwink us. BN always thinks that the rakyat is stupid and therefore we decided to tell him off during the concert when the opportunity presented itself".

Calling on everyone to reject BN, Nga, who is also the Pantai Remis state assemblyman, said that the 13th general election is the best time to vote for a change in government, and BN's failure in getting Psy to participate in the "yee sang" do is definitely a sign that their days are numbered.

Insider news revealed to a PAS' Harakah journalist who is this columnist's contact told of how the fighting spirit has gone out of Penang Umno after the recent announcement by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin that the chairman of Penang BN, Teng Chang Yeow, will be made chief minister if BN succeeds in recapturing Penang.

Umno is the only opposition in Penang as it is holding all the 11 BN seats in the State Legislative Assembly after MCA and Gerakan were wiped out in Penang in 2008. Umno's cybertroopers are now very angry with MCA, Gerakan and Penang Umno for the fiasco suffered by BN in the Penang-do.

According to this Harakah journalist, his contact had mentioned that the chairman of Penang Umno, Zainal Abidin Osman, had failed to ensure that there will be "10,000 mercenaries" standing in front of the stage to give Najib a resounding "yes" to all that he says during his speech.

The failure of Najib and BN to capitalise on Psy's popularity is certainly a major setback for BN's efforts in wooing the electorate. Contrasting the "yes" to Psy with a "no" to BN clearly shows that the only way BN can win the GE13 is through the dubious and much-disputed electoral roll and through the rural votes.

PAS is working very hard to reach out to the rural folk of all races. If this group wakes up in time for the GE13, then BN is finished.

BN leaders will do well to take note that threats and instant goodies will not work very much in this day and age. This is 2013 and BN has to move with the times as voters are getting to be more discerning.

The year of the Water Snake this time may prove to be BN's year of doom as the snake swallows it whole. BN leaders may very well be soon riding out of the main gate of Putrajaya – Gangnam style.

Australia Juga Boleh Isytihar Najib, Hishamuddin & KP Imigresen Musuh Negara Itu

Senator Australia diusir pulang selepas ditahan 15 jam

"Saya mendapatinya luar biasa.

Xenophon cemar imej Malaysia

What goes round turns around!

[EDISI TERDESAK] UMNO Cetak Kain Rentang Ajak PAS Bersatu

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 10:05 PM PST

– Roketkini

Sandhurst 'betrays' heroes of Mons - for £3m donation from the King of Bahrain

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 05:49 PM PST

Britain's top military academy, Sandhurst, has come under fire for renaming a sports hall commemorating a First World War battle after the King of Bahrain. The Mons Hall – named after the 1914 battle where thousands died  – will have its name changed to  honour the Bahraini monarch who has given millions in funding to the Army's officer training college. The building will now be called King Hamad Hall and will reopen next month after being refurbished thanks to a £3 million donation from the king, who is the patron of the Sandhurst Foundation but is known for brutally repressing demonstrators at home.

Sandhurst has also accepted a  £15 million donation from the United Arab Emirates to build a new accommodation block, raising questions about the college's links with authoritarian Gulf states accused of human rights abuses. Critics say the Army is betraying the soldiers who gave their lives and that Bahrain and the UAE are trying to avert criticism of their regimes by buying silence with donations. The 1914 Battle of Mons was the first major battle of the war. Against  overwhelming odds, the British Army inflicted 5,000 casualties on the Germans. At least 1,600 British troops were killed.

The Mons Hall is due to be reopened next month. King Hamad has been invited and a plaque will be unveiled with the inscription: 'King Hamad Hall. This building, the former Mons Hall, was refurbished in 2013 with a generous gift from the Kingdom of Bahrain.' Last night, MP Jeremy Corbyn said: 'There's something deeply ironic in renaming a hall that was in memory of soldiers who died in a tragic battle in the First World War in honour of a king who is routinely committing human rights abuses, including the shooting of demonstrators. I'm appalled. 'We should not be accepting money from such people. It's simply wrong. They are in effect trying to buy our silence.' And MP Andy Slaughter, Labour's chairman of the Democracy In Bahrain all-party parliamentary group, said: 'To change the name of something which commemorates a very tragic episode in British military history and an example of courage and heroism of British soldiers  simply because they're getting a sum of money from a rather dubious source is appalling.
Criticism: The Mons Hall ¿ named after the 1914 battle where thousands died ¿ will have its name changed to honour the Bahraini monarch.

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Bahrain last week on the second anniversary of the Gulf state's pro-democracy uprising and on Thursday a 16-year-old boy was shot dead.

It is thought that more than 50 people have been killed since the uprising began. The Mail on Sunday has learned that Sandhurst has also accepted a £15 million donation from the UAE, despite repeated criticism of the regime's human rights record. The money was used to build a new accommodation block for officers, named the Zayhed Building, after the first UAE president. The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was trained at Sandhurst, opened it in November.

Amnesty International says that about 90 political prisoners are currently detained in the UAE. A 2006 parliamentary report described the UAE as having a 'serious democratic deficit'. A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: 'All donations to Sandhurst are in compliance with the UK's domestic and international legal obligations and our values as a nation. 'Providing defence training and education to overseas cadets at the same high standards used by UK Armed Forces helps to save lives and raise awareness of human rights.' Daily Mail

[BERGAMBAR] Hassan Ali Gagal Hadir, Ezam Berdebat Sorang-sorang Atas Lori Ikan!

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 07:12 PM PST

Debat" Rakyat kelmarin 15hb Februari 2013, di Padang Rekreasi Rakan Muda, Taman Seri Andalas dihebohkan kepada satu dunia adalah antara Penaung Waris Malaya, Ezam Md Nor lawan Presiden JATI Hasan Ali.

Tapi malangnya "pedebat" dari JATI, Hasan Ali tak nampak batang hidung. Maka terpaksalah Ezam Md Nor berdebat seorang diri diatas lori 3 tan bawa ikan.

-omakkau

The Meteor and the Fireball

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 04:34 PM PST

Apparently, another potential meteor crash may have happened in Cuba today. Related? From the foreign language news site: "In a report released this morning by Rodas, town in the province of Cienfuegos, witnesses described a very bright light that has come to have large size, comparable to that of a bus, before exploding in the sky."

Meanwhile in Russia...

"it was really unexpectedly. it shined like 10 suns. all my windows in my house was broken. people was in panic in first hours. it's not funny, really. But people is calm now." - Facebook comment on CNN article

Russians living near the Ural Mountains were in for a terrifying surprise yesterday evening (Friday morning, locally) on Valentines Day, February 14th, when a meteor zoomed through the sky and exploded overhead, causing windows to break and hundreds to be injured (last count,  725). So far, 270 buildings are damaged. Fortunately the vast majority of injuries appear to be non life-threatening.

Arab Israeli Woman: Jews Do Not Rape Arabs, Arab Men Do

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 04:08 PM PST

An Arab Israeli woman  publicly praised Jewish ethics Tuesday, contrasting them to the Muslim Brotherhood's "rape gangs."

Posting on a Facebook event page devoted to protesting the rape and torture of female activists in Egypt, Anet Haskia rejected comparisons between Israel and Egypt that others on the page had made. On her own page, Haskia had this to say:

"We are talking about the rape of Arab women in Egypt and other Arab states, and you still try to make a connection to Israel? Jewish men do not rape Arab women and girls! It is Arab Muslim men who are raping you, so focus this campaign on them and leave Israel alone."
Haskia is from the mixed Jewish-Arab city of Akko, and is deeply supportive of the State of Israel. One of her children serves in the IDF. She credits her attitude to growing up in Akko where "we had good relations between Jewish and Arab families….We respected both Hebrew and Arabic speakers." She wants to enter Israeli politics, and represent Arab Israelis "who are too scared to speak up, who love Israel like I do and have done well here". Algemeiner

Egypt doesn't seem to trust Hamas

Posted: 16 Feb 2013 03:57 PM PST

From Walter Russell Mead:
Not even the Muslim Brotherhood trusts Hamas. In a surprise move yesterday, Egyptian forces blocked a network of tunnels that run between Egypt and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip by flooding them with water. The tunnels, used to smuggle everything from fuel to cement to weapons, are now inoperative. Imagine the global outcry if Israel did anything like this:
"We are using water to close the tunnels by raising water from one of the wells," [an Egyptian security official] said, declining to be named. […]
The tunnellers fear the water being pumped underground might collapse the passage ways, with possible disastrous consequences.
"Water can cause cracks in the wall and may cause the collapse of the tunnel. It may kill people," said Ahmed Al-Shaer, a tunnel worker whose cousin died a year ago when a tunnel caved in on him.
But what this really shows is that not even Egyptian President and Muslim Brother Mohamed Morsi trusts Hamas in Gaza. And yet much of the world continues to think the "blockade" of Gaza is an evil Israeli plot. Israel is no more able to blockade Gaza, which shares a border with Egypt, than Russia is able to blockade China. But none of this stops the myth of a cruel and wicked Israeli blockade of the suffering Gaza Strip from being an article of faith for people all over the world.
Egypt has enough on its plate without having to worry about policing the Sinai for militants from Gaza. This latest action looks to be a way of putting a leash on Hamas.
More evidence that this thesis is correct:
Egyptian security forces rejected a Muslim Brotherhood request to establish a Hamas office in Cairo after it had left its Damascus headquarters, according to Egyptian security sources quoted by Iraqi paper Azzaman on Tuesday.

The security sources were quoted as saying that they put national security considerations first, especially now when Egypt is facing unrest and the new office could lead to further disturbances. Hat tip: EOZ
