[BERGAMBAR] Calon PAS Nak Menang Kena Berani & Berkarisma Macam Nizar

Bravo Nizar...

Bakal MB Perak Inshaalah... -batuvskayu

Soiled Lake and Porn Star excuses away the scumbag, Zulkifli Noordin's religious bigotry and racism

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 06:58 AM PDT

From Malaysiakini

Zulkifli Noordin is remorseful, says Soi Lek by Lu Wei Hoong

SELANGOR BN's decision to field controversial Perkasa vice-chairperson Zulkifli Noordin for the Shah Alam parliamentary seat has been widely criticised but MCA president Chua Soi Lek backs the coalition's choice. "It's nothing. Zulkifli was (Pakatan Rakyat supremo) Anwar's good friend and used to be Anwar's lawyer. "He had contested under PAS. He and PAS are very good friends, thus he internalised PAS values and culture."But now he is remorseful and repentant (insaf dan bertaubat)," Chua (left) told a press conference while campaigning for Pandan MCA candidate lawyer Gary Lim this afternoon.

Zulkifli Nordin does not have to apologise for his extremist racist stand as it is his right, as it is the norm in UMNO, a racist supremacist organization, think of the Nazi Party (Aryans?). Soiled Lake is insulting all right thinking Malaysians. He joins the long list of Arseholes who have pissed on the Indians.

This time this happens to be a Chinaman! He the President of MCA who has embraced a right wing extremist outfit, Perkasa MCA happily gave away three parliamentary seats to UMNO, who in turn gave away two seats to Perkasa. It can be assumed that MCA gave away seats to Perkasa! What does that tell you? It means MCA is a willing supporter of Perkasa. All that drama by them was what? Just drama of pretense condemning Perkasa.

Everybody seems to be making excuses for Zulkifli Noordin  starting from  Najib  to  Moohyiddin and now Porn Star. He must definitely be holding a hatchet over their heads.

The Truth of the Matter Is...

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 06:51 AM PDT

Regular readers and subscribers would have noticed I have not been blogging as often as I used to do.

This sudden change in posting is NOT due to me attending ceramahs or doing stuff related to the GE 13. God forbid! No way! I deal with enough balderdash in my own backyard and certainly don't want to contend with more.

Rather, it is because of two reasons:

a. Recently, I discovered a fantastic website with over two million ebooks and 20 million scientific journals and articles which means that I have reading endlessly to the extent that my vision has blurred. Hence, I have to use Chrome's Speak it widget whereby all I have to do is to highlight the whole page and the application reads it to me. I can just lie on my bed and listen to the story/article being read out to me. Sheer bliss! Besides, I also get to choose the nationality and gender of the reader. Pretty cool huh...

b. I am being driven insane by the horrible standard of work by some students and I am not joking when I tell you that the past two weeks alone, i dropped 5 pounds from exasperation.

One of them is my friend's son who has a very serious learning disability and attitude problem. She asked me to help him because he will be going to Canada to join his brother in 2015. Even though he has a serious learning disability, it is really frustrating to see how he tries to wriggle out of doing work seriously and carefully.

He actually paid a friend to do my homework which was just a simple essay on the Hokkien Chinese New Year. We had worked on the points, the outline and I had sent him various links for him to pick out some relevant historical points but no - he had to pay someone to do the essay for him - a one page essay. On top of paying his friend, he did five pages of his friend's Maths homework. And the best part is when I asked him who wrote the essay for him, he claimed he did it himself and the 'slight' variation of handwriting was because he used a new pencil and did it in the school library (God knows how a change in physical environment can cause a change in handwriting). And round and round we went - one denial after another, one silly claim/rationale after another till I burst and said - For heaven's sake, if you want to cheat, please look at me. Do I look like the kind of woman you can cheat easily? He shook his head.

The next week, he copied all the answers for three chapters of a book I use. I prefer not to remove the answers because I expect students to exercise self-discipline. Sadly, this was not to be so for him. And as always, he denied copying the answers many times. So I said, "Fine". Do it again - use my book. And he went pale. Of course he fumbled and failed when he did it again.

Seriously, I have gone beyond the line of duty to help him but I persevered. I asked him to send me a short essay five times a week and I painstakingly typed comments and highlighted the parts that had to be rewritten and gave points as to how each essay could be developed. To cut the long story short, each essay was like a badminton match. Meaning - he would send it to me and I would email my comments almost immediately or within half an hour. This went on for five rounds and on Monday I went through version 6 of each essay and you can see for yourself the horror I have to go through. If not for the fact that his mom is a very good woman, I would not be doing this.... The following is Version 6 of the essay which he emailed to me:

Subject: Pg7 Susan hard earned bicycle
From:
To:
CC: Mami

One day, Susan went OT a complex. She saw a bicycle that looked very cool but it was very expensive. When Susan went home, she asked her mother could she sell fruits from their house to earn money to buy the bicycle.

Susan's mother agreed that Susan was allowed to sell the fruits for her garden. Everyday after school, Susan always collected fruits. Every week one day, she would sold fruits to her neighborhood.

She saved her allowance about a month. Finally, she could able to buy her favorite bicycle. Everyday, she will ride her bicycle when she had free time.

You can imagine how I laboured to refine it and still it is like this! All errors had been highlighted etc. but he did not bother to even correct or to make the necessary changes to improve his work.

The following is Version 4 of another essay. I nearly had a massive cardiac arrest when he emailed it to me...version FOUR!!!! Can you imagine what Version One looked like??? He studied in an international school and has since transferred to another private school. Here goes...fasten your seatbelts.

One day, the famouse Mr Lim was going to organize a campaign at Han CHIANG high school. Mr Lim was a very good donator to the poor. Mr Lim organize this campaign and also will give some rewards. The rewards will be you are allowed to go in to the star newspaper whoever collects the most recycling material.

After Mr Lim announced the campaign, everybody started to find all of the recycle material as they could.

There were three students named Rita, Anna and Sabrina had a dreamt that they wanted to be on the newspaper one day. After the announcement, Rita, Anna and Sabrina asked Mr Lim what was recycling about for this campaign. Mr Lim says that it was about recycling newspaper and aluminum can because nowadays he saw a lot of people just dumped those recycle material away and did not recycle.

Rita, Anna and Sabrina told Mr Lim about their dreamt so Mr Lim helped them by phoning some of the rich families do they have any recycle material. On the way, Rita, Anna and Sabrina asked some of the people near their neighborhood were there any waste materials to recycle.

After 2 hours, Rita, Anna and Sabrina brought a lot of recyclable materials to Mr Lim such as aluminum can, plastic water bottles that was empty and old newspaper. At last, the winner was going to Rita, Anna and Sabrina because they altogether collected five bags of recycling materials. In the next day, Rita, Anna and Sabrina were inside the newspaper with Mr Lim because they won the first prize.

:-(

I really don't understand students nowadays. Why is it so difficult for them to:

1. Understand that it's and its are different?

2. Understand subject-verb agreement?

3. Understand the role and usage of auxiliary verbs?

4. Understand the form and function of the various tenses?

5. Understand the part of speech and how each has different uses

6. Understand ordinal numbers?

7. Understand the need to check their work, think before writing etc etc...???? Arrrrghhhhh!

This boy is fourteen. Very saddening.

I see students handing up hw where the date is written as:

22th April.

Today, the other boy who drives me insane wrote:

23th April. So I told him there are two things wrong with his date. Quietly, he changed it to 23rd April. Then I said that it was still wrong and he exclaimed that he had already corrected it. So I asked him if he went to school today and he said yes. And when I asked him if he wrote dates for each piece of school work done in class, he nodded. What's the date you wrote? His reply? 24th. Mind you, just now, he whatsapped me because I wanted to know if he kept to my homwork schedule that I set for him and he wrote:

19th all done
20th all done
21th not done
22th all done

And this was after I scolded him about his '23th' problem when it should have been 23rd. :-(

Last week, he told me he could not finish his work because him mom did not photocopy my book 'properly'. Oh really? The thick book had ring binding so I inspected for 'evidence' of him ripping the six pages of the book.

Zilch.

The perfect crime.

To cut the long story short, I called the mom who is a very beautiful woman inside out and she checked his room and found the evidence of the crime. :-( And also of other crimes. He is only 11.

It breaks my heart to see such deviant behaviour.

Worse still, it is most tragically heartbreaking to see the death of the thinking mind at higher levels.

Last week, someone wrote this for my test given in college:

Man exploits land to build houses and the soil cannot stand the weight of the houses so landslides happen.

Back a few thousand BCs, before man first step into this world....

Pollution occurs because of burning of fossil fuels and car plants.

Car plants?????????

And the student scored nine A stars in SPM. *shudders*

Seriously, I don't know why I have the misfortune to witness the decline in educational standards.

This is only the tip of the sh** i see a few times a week. Thank goodness I teach very little. I do get offer to teach but I have gladly declined because I rather be earning a little and be happy than to earn a lot and be driven insane.

You cannot imagine how shallow and simple is the English Language syllabus and standard in our system today. Years ago, the Literature component was something to be proud of and this was back in 1970's and I am glad I scored A1 for my Literature and English Language exams which were marked by Cambridge examiners in UK.

Fast forward to 21st century. Have you seen the Form 1 literature books? One is an illustrated version of Black Beauty and the poems they learn are what I learnt when I was in Std 1!!! And this includes 'Mr. Nobody'. My son could not believe it until I showed him my precious 'Junior Anthology of Poetry' and then he gasped in horror.

Back in 2004-2010, the Form 4 and Form 5 students studied John Steinbeck's 'The Pearl' and meaningful short stories and poems including Robert Frost's 'The Road Not Taken' and Kipling's 'If'. Today, the SPM English paper is easier than the PMR paper of yesteryears and the PMR paper is easier than the UPSR papers of yesteryears. My younger son could do the PMR English paper with only one mistake when he was in Std 3. And I don't even teach my son. All I do is to tell him that it is his life and reading will be the tool for him to improve his life. And he devours books, even those new books of mine that I have not read!

And for the five students I coach, three are leaving this year - one of them has been with me for 12 years whilst the other has been with me for eight years and the third will be off to Down Under. So I will be left with those two I mentioned earlier - the main supplier of anecdotes for my book on 'Memoirs of A Teacher'.

The nightmare continues.

Frankly, I see enough nonsense in the classroom to put me off teaching for the rest of my life. I really do not know what is happening to the education system of this country. It is soooooooo frustrating because I see the decline from 1980's and the sharpest decline has been in the last five years.

Of the 1980's students I taught, most of them became famous doctors, lawyers, media personalities and one is even listed in Wikipedia because of his internet site. And this special guy was my economics student who could not differentiate between cost-push inflation and demand-pull inflation. As a punishment, he had to draw each graph 10 times. The next lesson, he still could not get it right so he had to do 20 and finally 40 of each i.e. 80 graphs. Amazingly, he did it with a smile as a Year 10 student. He scored A for my economics and when he was studying his A levels in Cheltenham, the first email he wrote to me was filled with my economics graphs. This young man aced his A levels, went to King's College to do economics and did his masters at Imperial College. I doubt any student in the 21st century would have reacted to my strict standards in the classroom then.

Of the 1990's students I taught, one is working directly for Bill Clinton, another is a famous producer in Philedelphia, another is an astral physicist but now in charge of a dance company in Scotland, another is a famous television celebrity in Thailand, another is a famous cardiologist in London, many became doctors and a significant number specialised in O and G, plastic surgery, dental surgery, orthodontics etc. and one who reads my blog quite regularly is teaching English in Korea even though he was trained in environmental science. Most of them have at least one masters degree and quite a number have PhDs.

Of those I taught between 2000-2005, one works in Seattle for Microsoft, another is a broadcast journalist in CNBC news, another is a famous internet marketeer, many I taught between 2000-2005 ended up as doctors from PMC, IMU and foreign universities. One lovely girl who never passed my exam as she could not work against the clock after being home-schooled touched my life. I told her I am not giving up on her. She did not make it for my GP paper at the A levels but I told her that one day, she would be a famous write and I said she should study writing instead of law. Well, she called me from the airport before she left for Tasmania and I reiterated my stand. Years down the road, I discovered I was not wrong for she became an award winning journalist in Australia.

My godson whom I coached for thirteen years is my personal project. A mediocre student whose parents had been cheated twice, I told him it was my personal ambition to groom him to be an award winning student. He laughed and it was no easy road. When his parents went overseas to work, he went astray and one day, I pulled him aside and had a tet-a-tete with him. Along the way, drama queen madam here broke down and cried. I felt so saddened that he had turned that way. His parents were the kindest I have ever met and when I was expecting Nicholas, every week, she would make home-cooked nourishing stuff and send them to my house. Such acts of kindness will never be forgotten. Well, to cut the long story short, he went on to win a full scholarship to one of the best Taiwanese universities to study economics and had enough $$$ to pay for his sister's final year university fees as well.

I could write a book about the wonderful achievements of my former students because I am very proud of them that despite the odds, they shone through..even those who had only mediocre SPM qualifications who were in my Business Communication Diploma class. One of them was the late actress Brenda Chiah who passed away last year. Despite their humble backgrounds, these students worked part-time to pay their own fees and even secured masters degrees. Today, they remain humble and still keep in touch with me even after 15 years.

However, I am so sorry to say that in the last eight years, I have only taught two good students. So tragic.

Instead of singing 'Where have all the flowers gone?", I sing, "Where have all the neurons gone?"

Sighs.

And so with all the community sanitary output that I receive from some students on a regular basis, why woukd I want to expose myself to election news? I would go insane.

I did not even know 30 000 people turned up in support of a leader on nomination day and a friend exclaimed, "OMG, you have become insular!"

Not insular but pragmatic.

I know who to vote so I will just go and vote and not expose myself to more nonsense in the media.

Whatever it is, I seriously hope and pray that whoever wins the right to be in power will do something about our pathetic state of education.

Sighs.

End of rant.

Bad week.

:-(

My apologies to some readers who wrote to me...I have yet to reply your emails/comments but will get round to it soon.

Buddhist violence against Muslims in Myanmar ‘wrong

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 06:40 AM PDT

London: Amid damning reports showing official Myanmar complicity in ethnically cleansing entire Muslim towns and villages, the world's foremost Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama, has condemned the violence that has left hundreds dead and an estimated hundreds of thousands homeless.

In an interview with Channel 4 News, he told Cathy Newman that violence "is wrong". When he was asked whether he could do something about the attacks in Burma (Myanmar) and Sri Lanka, he said: "In a student-teacher relationship, whether it is supreme teachers like Jesus or the Buddha, no one can control the thoughts of all humans."

"My friend, a scientist in Argentina, had said to a physicist at a meeting many years ago that she should not develop an attachment to her scientist field. That means I am Buddhist but I should not develop an attachment to my faith because then my attitude will become biased. And you cannot see the truth with a biased mind," he added.

Sometimes, many conflicts are fought in the name of religion but in reality they may actually be due to political or economical differences, he said, adding: "Fundamentalists always think of themselves and not the values of others, which is wrong."

Commenting on Nationalist Buddhist monk U Wirathu, dubbed the "Buddhist bin Laden" and accused of flaring social tensions between Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, the Dalai Lama said he had not studied his case in detail or in isolation but that he condemned his actions. "What he is doing is wrong," he said.

Previously, during an interview with ABC News from his home-in-exile in Dharamsala in India, he had represented his most public condemnation of the Buddhist-led violence.

"It's very sad," the Dalai Lama said.

"All the major religions teach us the practice of love, compassion and forgiveness. So a genuine practitioner among these different religious traditions would not indulge in such violence and bullying of other people."

Asked for his opinion on US senators voting against gun control as part of an individual's freedom, the Dalai Lama said he understood individual freedom, "but that does not mean you carry out an act out of destructive emotion. The control must come from the individuals," he said.

He also discussed his hopes for progress with China and whether a woman could be the Tibetan people's next spiritual leader. He said he is optimistic about progress with China and hopes that in a few years they can share a harmonious relationship based on "friendship and trust".

He said he would be happy to have a woman Dalai Lama succeed him. "Women are naturally more sympathetic and compassionate people. So, yes, I would definitely welcome it," he told Channel 4.

It's unclear how much weight the Dalai Lama's words will carry in violence-stricken areas of Myanmar, where a new report accuses Buddhist monks, political party operatives, and ordinary Myanmar residents of committing brutal acts of violence against the country's tiny Rohingya minority.

The report, issued by Human Rights Watch, shows a pre-planned pattern of violence in the Southeast Asian country, including entire villages razed to the ground and the bodies of men, women and children buried in mass graves, some with their hands bound behind their backs. In another village, 70 people, including 28 children, were allegedly hacked to death.

The violence began last year with a number of small skirmishes between Buddhists and Muslims in central Myanmar. It has since then spread and nearly all the violence has been directed toward Myanmar's minority Rohingya Muslims. They are a small ethnic group of three to five percent of Myanmar's total population.

The Myanmar government classifies the Rohingyas as Bangladeshi immigrants, denying them official citizenship. Burmese laws prevent them from travelling without permission and owning land.

Human Rights Watch accuse Myanmarese authorities of turning a blind eye, and in some cases participating in the violence. It accuses the government of "systematically restricting humanitarian aid" and "imposing discriminatory policies" on its Muslim minority, warning of a humanitarian crisis if the violence isn't brought to an end. [KREATIF] Anak Muda Cina Bentuk Bulan Dengan Tangannya

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 08:04 AM PDT

-omakkau

UMNO's best says it all, Kulitification is what counts, they celebrate mediocrity

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 04:00 AM PDT

...which means a quality of being mediocre! There you are, in the words of our "Great Leader", at the Lumut Naval Base, he was spewing out his splendid best, hate and venom against the proverbial bogey man, Anwar Ibrahim and the opposition.

'1Malaysia Farce', starring Najib, Zul and Ibrahim

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 03:54 AM PDT

From Malaysiakini

Najib: Zul Noordin will take care of Indians' welfare

your sayMilosevic: Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali and Zulkifli Nordin, two distasteful ethnic fascists, are vital for Umno. They represent Ketuanan Melayu, and serve Umno's need to assert Malayness and Islam as hegemonic concepts in Malaysian society. Since some Indian and Chinese support is also required, Najib needs to be careful and indirect in his approach. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad is sidelining Najib's agenda. They both need each other. They are fighting desperately to maintain Umno power for they cannot risk scrutiny into their affairs. Umno lost the middle ground it held for so many decades after it became corrupt, intellectually feeble and authoritarian. It has no intrinsic moral appeal and so projects virtue in defending religion, race and royalty. The opposition is smart to portray Mahathir has the mastermind behind Umno and to make Najib look like a weak puppet. That is the right strategy, but we should not be confused about Umno's well-thought-out approach.

Cantabrigian: Najib said, "Forget about the remarks he has made. He has apologised." Najib, you are underestimating the damage that has been done by Zulkifli's statement. He may have insulted the deities worshipped by the Hindus, but you Najib, have insulted the Indians even worse by telling them to simply forgive Zulkifli just like that. Najib is treating Indians as pariah of the Malaysian society, but as usual, there will be some Indians who would still vote for BN and worship their new-found idol called 'Ringgit Malaysia'.

Rakyat-in-grief: Najib is pushing Zulkifli down the throat of Indians and rejoicing with his comment that the ultra racist will take care of Indians. He is ridiculing and insulting the Indian community and laughing at them. It is the misfortune of the community due to the lack of strong leadership. Numbering only eight percent of the population, they are divided into eight parties; all lead by spineless/gutless leaders. They are doomed because they still trust these Umnoputras after 56 years of cheating and neglecting.

Malaysian First: Najib is making a big mistake by listening to Mahathir in choosing Zulkifli Noordin and Ibrahim Ali. So now, Umno and Perkasa are one. And Najib is going to pay for it in GE13.

Kairos: Do not be fooled by this pseudo change of heart by Zulkifli. A leopard will not change its spots. Once elected into power, this ultra racist will become even more radical and dangerous. They all have sinister hidden agendas to champion their religious bigotry at the expense of other races and religion. Najib is too weak to rein them in. So our spineless caretaker PM has to give in to these religious radicals. Reject them for the sake of peace and racial harmony in the country.

Indian Prophet: I am shocked by the words Najib utter, he once considered himself to Barack Obama's personality type and now his words tell me one thing - that he knows and fears something and that they are going to lose this general election big time. Even Mahathir's body language says this and is very fearful. It proves that they know that PAS has got the Chinese full backing for the first time in history.

Clever Voter: It is so incredible these liars would even swore to win popular votes. Even the blind, dead or dumb can see through them. But in all fairness, there will be gullible people who would be suckers. Hopefully there would be far fewer this time.

Cala: Najib, don't put words into Zulkifli's mouth. To most people, words are important as they represent the thoughts of the person uttering those words. Unless a person is insane, a person speaks and acts coherently, consistently and logically. In Zulkifli's case, his unbecoming remarks on the Indian community have been consistent with his official role as the vice-president of right-wing racist group Perkasa. On what basis, can one assume that he has changed for the better?

Bender: Zul championing the Indian issues? What is this, the joke of century? Here's a message to our Indian friends: If you want to get screwed big time for another five years, go on ahead kiss the guy. But if you want change, stick with incumbent Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad.

Just Me: Just imagine - Zul appointed to take care of Indian welfare and Ibrahim Ali appointed to take care of Chinese welfare. Now what is MCA, Gerakan and MIC going to do now?

Retnam: When Najib implements the Hindraf-BN memorandum of understanding (MOU), he will create a special unit for Indian affairs in the PM's Department. Zul Noordin will head that unit. P Waythamoorthy will be the Hindraf representative in it and he will be chief 'mandore' of Zul Noordin. Karma works in strange ways.

Indians should give Zul the kiss of death

Ex-admiral barred from Lumut naval base

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 03:48 AM PDT

From Malaysiakini by Lee Long Hui

.... but allowed an Old Senile Goat, well past his prime in, who happens to think he is God's gift on earth....trumpets...drum roll our "Great Leader", to spew forth lies and hate. The Chief of Navy will soon have a lot of answering to do, for allowing this to happen.

PERAK For 37 years, First Admiral (Rtd) Mohamad Imran Abdul Hamid had practically called the Lumut naval base his home. Yesterday, the gates were closed to the PKR candidate for the Lumut parliamentary seat when he attempted to campaign there. Based on his schedule, Imran was to have performed his prayers at a mosque in the base, but he was told he could not enter wearing a party shirt.

NONEHe cancelled the plan and instead had lunch with his campaign team at a restaurant less than 1km from the main entrance to the base.

As most of the other patrons are navy personnel, he took the opportunity of greeting them as he went around table by table, while his team distributed leaflets.

"I could get in if I change my (shirt), but (my identity will be discovered) because (they know) my face ... If I go in, I will be followed. This is all because I have joined a political party that is against BN, that's all," he said.

"(But) I have my influence and experience. I've always taken care the personnel. I hope I can exert my influence. About 50-60 percent (of the personnel support me)." Imran's campaign manager Khairil Azhar Khairuddin said the team had been distributing leaflets at 8am and 5pm respectively for two days, outside two entrances to the base. "Navy personnel votes are the hardest for us to get, so we can only try our best," he said.

Imran is facing incumbent Kong Cho Ha of the BN, who survived the 2008 outing with a slim majority of 298 votes. Yesterday afternoon, Kong was with former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamed who delivered a speech at the base, soliciting support for the BN in the May 5 general election. As a guest, Kong shook hands with many of the personnel before leaving. Lumut also has 12,718 voters from the armed forces and 569 from the police force in Lumut, comprising 15 percent of the 88,300 votes.

If the policies of the naval base is that no one can wear their political colours before entering, it is fair, as long as it applies to others, no matter how many years one has served with the Navy. The same terms should apply to a Supremacist party, UMNO. As was done recently by our
"Great Leader".

The same opportunity should be given to the opposition, UMNO does not own the Navy!  First Admiral (Rtd) Mohamad Imran Abdul Hamid, is a son of proud Malay parents, more so with such exemplary service to our country. UMNO is going to lose votes for this sleight against the Admiral.

The naval base is located in the Pangkor state constituency, which is being contested by the incumbent and caretaker Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir.

UMNO and PERKASA

These are the people who promote the new apartheid. The new intolerance, the new pogroms to chase people out of this country because of a different race or creed.

Pasir Mas confirms Umno and Perkasa are bedmates by Stephen Ng from Malaysiakini

It would be interesting to find out whether Umno-BN will back Ibrahim Ali, who was not picked as an Umno candidate for Pasir Mas. When the Umno Pasir Mas candidate chose to opt out of the contest, it was a shocking decision. Perkasa president, Ibrahim Ali was not picked because he was not considered a winnable candidate, unlike his deputy, Zulkifli Noordin, who shocked the nation with his derogatory remarks against the Hindus and their deities.

The fact that Ibrahim Ali was not picked was also a tight slap on the face of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad. It shows that Dr Mahathir's influence and his political interference is getting weaker every day. Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairperson Mustapa Mohamed was also shocked, when Umno's own 'winnable candidate' never turned up for the nomination. I wonder how Najib Razak defined a winnable candidate – someone who betrays his own party?

Now that Umno's own winnable candidate is a no-show in Pasir Mas, would the Umno general election machinery support or campaign for Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali? Umno will have a lot to explain to all Malaysians if it campaigns for Ibrahim Ali, especially after the things that Perkasa has done over the years. If Ibrahim Ali leans towards Umno, would Umno now lean towards Ibrahim Ali, whom Najib had rejected as a 'winnable candidate'?

It is interesting to watch what Umno will do now, and what kind of spin they will come out with when they choose to support Ibrahim Ali.  To me, it would be obvious that Perkasa is part of Umno and Umno is Perkasa at its worst.

Hate-Speech against the Religion propagated at Sermons in Pha-An, Karen State

Religious Sermons were delivered by the Monk U Wirathu in the evenings from 7 to 9 pm for three consecutive nights from the 20th to 22nd of April at Me-baung Monastery in Pha-An township, Karen State: and through these so-called sermons, instead of preaching, only anti-sentiments against Islam were propagated. As the loud speakers were used during the sermons to raise the voice, all the residents around heard what he was saying very well.

These sermons were nothing but religious assaults on Islam; rather than preaching on the religious values, he just insulted the others' religion (Islam). The locals, Pha-An residents, who heard what U Wirathy said reported M-Media as follows.

The following are the facts of anti-sentiments propagated by U Wirathu.

1) Mosques are the buildings of the enemy; so it is sinless to destroy Mosques as it means that only the enemies' buildings are demolished.

2) According to Islamic teaching, if a Muslim Kalar (Kalar is a derogatory term in Burmese language referring to the Muslims) rapes a Burmese Buddhist girl, he will be highly ranked. (U Wirathu's accusation)

3) As the President U Thein Sein said against the Rohingyas bluntly, he is to be admired. The lady called to be Mother Su (he is referring to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) didn't do or say anything. Therefore, prayer campaigns supporting the President's words were held in Mandaly, to support what our president had said.

4) Those who destroyed the Mosques in Pagu (Bago) Division made me shameful. This was utterly unjust.

5) They (Muslims) live in Myanmar, and they don't eat pork. In Myanmar only Pork is available as meat, so they should eat that. Now they are not eating pork, but they are going after the Burmese girls who have the pork-eating mouth. So how can I understand them (Muslims)?

6) Muslim ladies veil their whole bodies. Some even cover their eyes. It is like hell to them during summer. They even say that we Burmese Buddhist girls are not civilized. Are we not lucky that we have the religion with freedom?

7) There are people with beards and wearing Taik Pone (Myanmar Traditional Jacket) in NLD. They look like goats and are really disgusting! They don't know how to wear Taik Pone well, and that makes them really awkward.

8) One of the Burmese Buddhist girls fell in love with a Muslim guy so much that she even poisoned her parents. Later she  was forced to stepp on the Image of Buddha, and to convert to Islam.

9) We need to be united like the People of Meikhtila. Are you willing that  Karen State will be for kalars (Muslims) one day?

10) People are attacking me on  facebook. I do not care them at all (Actually, he used a derogatory term in Burmese Language, similar to "I don't give a shit for that"). I am a religious martyr/ a religious warrior.

11) We don't need to be afraid of the black (referring to Muslims), I swear; one day, only they will lower their heads when they see Burmese people (It is a Burmese Idiom that means that Muslims have to be fear of Burmese Buddhists).

12) These kalars (Muslims) came to me only when they are helpless. Do not interact with them, you will also automatically become rude like them.

As he had said such words in his sermons, it was totally different from the way the other true Buddhist monks deliver their sermons. For all three nights, whatever he preached there was not coherent, and even though these gatherings were said to be sermons, they were only religious assaults to instigate religious conflicts or communal riots. It also seemed to the locals who heard the sermon that U Wirathu had been drugged as his speech was slurred so much.

Analysis: Myanmar's conflicting narratives

Human rights report denounces ethnic cleansing of Rohingya as the West congratulates Myanmar on democratic reforms.

On the same day that his government is accused of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity, Myanmar President Thein Sein is being honoured at a fund-raising gala dinner in Manhattan, New York.

VIPs have paid as much as $100,000 a table for the event "In Pursuit of Peace", which was organised by the International Crisis Group think-tank, which receives some congressional funding. Thein Sein won't be there, which is probably just as well, given that Human Right Watch's new 153-page report is likely to cast a dark shadow over the proceedings.

According to the report by the New York-based rights group, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity have been committed against Myanmar's Muslim Rohingya people.

More than 125,000 ethnic Rohingya have been forcibly displaced since two waves of violence in May and October 2012 between the ethnic minority and Buddhist Rakhines left at least 110 dead.

Myanmar's government has done nothing to prevent the violence, alleges the report, and at times government forces are believed to have joined in the attacks on the Rohingya.

The report, released today, comes on the day the European Union plans to lift all remaining sanctions against the country formerly known as Burma.

Two narratives

HRW's accusations come as a sharp rebuttal to the governments and groups that have hailed Myanmar's "golden promise", a phrase that has frequently been used to describe the country's potential if its much touted political and economic reforms continue.

That a positive narrative of Myanmar's current situation can co-exist with the current violence is frightening, according to analysts, because of what some see as the state's "seething hatred" against Muslims. They say the possible regional implications of anti-Muslim violence have so far been ignored by regional powers, and that the geo-strategically important position Myanmar has could cause the violence to continue without foreign action.

Most Rohingya who live in Myanmar's western Rakhine state are denied citizenship by the Myanmar government, which claims they are illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh.

"The government perspective, which is unfortunately also the public's perspective, is that the country's western gate has been broken, the invaders are already here. That's why there's such overwhelming support for the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya," Dr Maung Zarni, a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and exiled activist, told Al Jazeera.

This is the best of bad scenarios, and there's a strategic dividend for Washington and its allies: however distant the regime moves away from Beijing is the West's gain.

Dr Maung Zarni, exiled activist

The author of the Human Rights Watch report, Matthew Smith, also spoke of the "very high level of risk" of a third wave of anti-Muslim violence similar to those witnessed in May and October 2012.

Dr Thitinan Pongsudirak of Chulalongkorn University said great measures needed to be taken if violence were to be curbed. "Leadership has to be very bold and willing to take some risks," he said. "Thein Sein and Aung San Suu Kyi should put aside election prospects and utilise whatever resources they have. Short of that, we will see more violence."

Aung San Suu Kyi's failure to take up the case for the Rohingya in public is probably the most obvious example of the limits of her role.

There's little doubt that if an election were held today she would win, but, in the larger scheme of things, it's not evident that – even with her moral authority – her taking up the Rohingya's fight would make much difference to the fundamental causes of the violence, or to the international community's reluctance to rock the government's reform boat.

"To be honest, Aung San Suu Kyi is a prop, not a strategic player," said Dr Zarni.

The dissident leader has said that it remains up to the government to deal with the racial hatred and violence threatening the country. She has emphasised the importance of the rule of law, placing herself squarely in the establishment camp and seemingly sealing her transformation into a roving collector of international adulation, and a not-so-extraordinary politician.

Regional issues

Observers also say the violence is likely to spill over into the greater region. In early April, eight people were killed at an Indonesian refugee camp after clashes erupted between Buddhists and Muslims from Myanmar.

The country is also due to chair the regional Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2014.

"It will reflect poorly on ASEAN if Myanmar has ethno-religious baggage when it chairs. There should be regional involvement – not regional intervention," said Dr Thitinan. This is unlikely, he added, since ASEAN has a policy of non-interference in its members' internal politics.

"[ASEAN] doesn't have a mechanism to deal with issues like this, that's the reality" said Kavi Chongkittavorn, group editor of the Thai newspaper The Nation.

The campaign against Muslims in Myanmar also sheds light on the nature of the deal between Naypidaw and the US and its allies. Myanmar's government believes the West will leave them alone in exchange for agreeing to placing Western military or strategic interests and corporations at China's expense. As for the West, they seem to think this is probably the best chance of Myanmar moving forward without a full-scale armed revolution.

"This is the best of bad scenarios, and there's a strategic dividend for Washington and its allies: however distant the regime moves away from Beijing is the West's gain," explained Dr Zarni. "The common denominator between Burma and the non-Chinese world is China."

And what of the 800,000 Rohingya themselves?

The events of the past year have meant some are kept in camps without the freedom to leave or the ability to earn a livelihood; children don't have school, there's not enough food or medical care, and they're still living under tarpaulin even though the government promised it would move them in December.

The rest live in areas surrounded by Rakhine, where relations are fraught. In one instance a Rakhine man was forced to wear a sign around his neck identifying him as a "traitor" for selling vegetables to a Rohingya. Nor can they rely on the security forces for help, according to the HRW report, which is based on more than a hundred interviews with victims of violence, witnesses to violence and perpetrators of abuses.

The report's name stems from the testimony of an incident in which a police officer was asked by a Rohingya for help.

"All you can do is pray," the officer replied.

MYANMAR GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON U YE HTUT WAS CHALLENGED ABOUT HIS GOVERNMENT’S CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 01:48 AM PDT

Maung Zarni's status.
DOES MYANMAR GOVERNMENT SPOKESPERSON U YE HTUT HAVE BALLS TO DISCUSS PUBLICLY TRUTHS ABOUT HIS GOVERNMENT'S CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY ?

For those of you with access to Deputy Minister of Information and Government Spokesperson Ye Htut, please convey my invitation to discuss publicly and via international media his government inquiry commission report against the backdrop of the HRW's report.

Let him know that the said commission was chaired by Dr Myo Myint, my history tutor at Mandalay University in 1982 who retired as Dir-General of Religious Affairs in the Ministry of Home Affairs. My former friend Dr Kyaw Yin Hlaing, now an adviser to Thein Sein, is secretary for the commission.

I have 'done indepth research on this dubious commission made up of 'distinguished' professionals from Myanmar.

Ask Ye Htut if he has balls to discuss both the contents, the make-up and the process of inquiry, as well as the behind-the-scene politics with me publicly.

I am sure Al Jazeera English or the regime-sympathetic Channel News Asia would be happy to host this discussion.

Ye Htut

Human Rights Watch

Miracles Can Happen..

Posted: 24 Apr 2013 03:27 AM PDT

A very kind but fatherly BN friend had some invaluable sms for me this morning..
It is most inspiring even though it sounds like there is practically no hope and the odds are against us.

I am sharing a bit of them for it may help Dato' Mohd Ariff Sabri Bin Hj Abdul Aziz strive harder and be victorious extremely well in the PRU 13, kawasan pilihanraya PO80 Raub, Pahang..

Many of us are praying hard for him while many others have/are also pitching in whatever amount into his campaigning funds.
Others are probably frantically helping him tirelessly to canvass for every precious PRU 13 vote.
From the rest, the moral support is so touchingly loyal and encouraging.

There are another 10 days of campaigning madness before the voting day arrives and the results be announced.

Let us all march forward so that we can blind our eyes with tears of happiness..

Salam
Ariff will surely lose. Raub Malays can't forgive DAP for what they did in 1969. So sad,he chose the wrong party. Even Tengku Aziz (many times the stature of Ariff), left DAP.

No Malays has ever had a place in DAP. In the first place,a true Malay will not join DAP.If he wants a place,it's not in DAP.Even PKR would have been a better choice for him...I'm sorry to say this:when you think that you're too smart, that you're the best, you see the wood for the tree;you get lost along the way...

p.s.
This is my 5th day of fasting..I started from nomination day and hope to do so till the 5th May 2013.
It is not easy when there are so many drooling temptations.
InsyaAllah I will cross that promised line..

Gosh..I'm so thirsty because just now I went for my exercising classes after 2 years of absence..
I had my own miracle reason for suddenly wanting to lose weight..^_^

I am actually so fortunate to have received these honest, polite but forthright smses..it's like they're clues on how to garner a win.

I hope we who support him will be more determined to make Dato' Mohd Ariff Sabri Bin Haji Abdul Aziz be the winning candidate in the P080 election area in Raub, Pahang for PRU 13.

May Allah SWT help him be the first in Malaysian politics to become the first DAP Malay Parliamentarian for Raub, Pahang..kawasan pilihanraya P080.
Ameen..
