Just Let The Handbag Go..

Just Let The Handbag Go..

Just Let The Handbag Go..

Posted: 06 May 2013 08:59 AM PDT

My daughter was clutching her laptop and her handbag was slung on her shoulder. Just before azan Isyak, she entered the porch entrance through the mini gate.

I was upstairs. I heard her honking. She does that when she wants someone to open the door for her because she normally does not carry the housekeys with her.

I heard a loud motorcycle sound and her was scary..I was frantic..
I didn't want her to be hurt..I was sure danger was upon her.
Leaping down the stairs with my ankle pains all forgotten, I shouted out her name and ran outside.
My son and another daughter were already at the garage.
The motorbike had madly zoomed away.

My neighbours all came out..a group of friendly Chinese faces and my next door Malay neighbor who was only clad in a towel..we hardly talk to each other yet they all raced out..
I was thankful they showed so much concern and inquired about the incident.

The old aunty infront whose dog I sometimes keep a lookout for whenever she goes to KL or overseas had opened her door as soon as she heard the commotion.

I thank them for their sincere neighbourliness.
And I am so glad my daughter was not hurt..just terribly shocked and almost on the verge of tears..well she did cry a bit after that..

We'll make a police report tomorrow.
Anyway, be careful everybody..the bag snatcher did his crime right in front of the gate.
My daughter was already inside the small gate while the crime doer was just on the outside.

Alhamdulillah Fateen is okay..
It was only that day we had a small argument whereby I told her not to make it a habit to go out every night to Old Town..she likes the speedy internet connection there.

Hopefully everybody will take more safety precautions.
Anything unexpected can happen without warning..

Both the muggers were wearing blue BN tshirts!
Sheesh..kurang asem betul!
My daughter initially thought they were BN guys wanting to ask some questions.
And they were young chaps..possibly drug addicts..

1malaysia thugs/gangsters/hooligans

Posted: 06 May 2013 09:39 AM PDT

hooligans… or in our local lingua '1malaysia samseng'.  plenty of them around during the 13th general election. documented proof in videos. why i mentioned 1malaysia? they were wearing the 1malaysia t-shirts!  we all know 1malaysia club is aligned to barisan nasional (BN), don't we. in another video, the hooligans were wearing  'i luv PM' t-shirt. gosh! supporters of the PM are hooligans? figures!! the PM did not speak out to condemn them too! just imagine if the hooligans were from PR, he and all the umnoputera would jumped up at once to condemn the hooligans.

the first  video here –  happened in pengkalan pegoh, ipoh on 3 may when a group of PR supporters were having a peaceful flash mob on the streets. suddenly, for no reason at all, a group of 1malaysia samseng (the video stated they are umno supporters)  came on bike and several of them started to attack the PR supporters who were holding flashcards.

look! especially towards the end…  2.22 onwards….  and especially at 2.26, the man in red shirt, holding a stick was wear… what? what t-shirt?? can you see the words there? it clearly stated "i love PM" (with the 'love' in heart symbol).

this is the picture taken from the video to show you clearly the 2 bastards who love the PM as two of the group of hooligans. so shameful of najib razak!

the second video here showed even worst gangsterish action – throwing tables and chairs and plates too at one elderly man.  think there were about 20 or 30 of them youngsters! imagine! more than 20 youngsters attacking one lone elderly man.

this happened inside the dehappy restaurant in macalsiter road (the end near komtar, opposite heng ee primary school and bank simpanan nasional). the man who was attacked was with his family/friends after attending the mega-ceramah at esplande on 3 may. he was wearing, i think, the ubah (or LGE) t-shirt. there were quite a number of those PR supporters who were there after the ceramah at the restaurant.

these 1malaysia samseng, of course BN supporters, were not happy with the PR supporters. they were making a lot of noises until this uncle cant' stand it and he just stood up and raise his hands, asking them not to be quiet…. and all of a sudden, the samseng ran to attack him! watch and you will be shocked!!.

finally this video showed the 1malaysia samseng descended on air putih, penang, the constituency where penang CM, lim guan eng stood as candidate.  it happened in front of the gong ming school, air itam on poling day, 5 may. you can tell easily they are 1malaysia samseng by the 1malaysia t-shirts they are wearing (blue wtih 1malaysia logo in front… and some with BN logo at the back).

just 1 minute into the video you'll see those samseng walking in with such a high and mighty proud air, esp. the fat one.

of course these are only 3 of the many videos showing how 1malaysia supporters acted. can you believe…. the news and videos are all over the social media and obviously showing they are BN supporters yet none of the BN ministers spoke up to condemn them. yes, we can believe that…. they are the umno/BN government of 56 years.

Is Anomie Here to Stay? Reverse Takeover?

Posted: 06 May 2013 08:09 AM PDT

I have not updated by blog till now because I am, like many like-minded Malaysians both near and far, outraged and in deep grief because of how our country has been raped beyond recognition (as so eloquently expressed by my dear friend Stephen Tan Ban Cheng in THIS POST.

It hurts and pains me to even think about the events before and after 5.5.13.

To write about it is akin to open heart surgery minus anaesthetics.

I changed my Facebook profile photo to this one because I felt all topsy turvy within, as if the music of hope playing within my soul had turned discordant...upside down treble clef, quavers and other musical notes out of synch with each other...

My very old friend - Rev David Loo was the first to respond and he said:

Indeed, there STILL shall be Music despite the darkness, the Music of a New Dawn yet to burst...

To which I responded:

Thanks, Pastor David. I do agree with you that we must never lose hope that a new dawn will descend on this land. In a country where music of different ethnic groups harmonised in beautiful synchrony, today, discordance and cacophony abounds as voices of discontent swell vocalizing the outrage within their hearts. I believe, however, one day, all that discordance will 'poco rit' into joy and thanksgiving for all that this nation has had to endure....May God bless Malaysia and Malaysians with true democracy.

Another friend wrote:

Danse Macabre !!!

My response: remind us of the fragility of life...the vain glories of life sought after by the Darth Vaders of this world will fizzle into nothingness when justice prevails.

Sometimes, words are not enough because our pain, disappointment, anger etc cannot be verbalised, vocalised because within, we are just too traumatized. But hope must never die within us as long as we are alive. Justice WILL prevail.

I am not going to echo what others have expressed so eloquently or passionately but I just want to emphasize the complete absence of core values in many segments of our society.

That we have progressed into a nation where some lack or have no scruples at all about cheating others or to defy what is morally and legally correct is shameful.

What are the younger ones learning from us?

In an ambiance of hatred, lambasting, criticizing one another etc. hatred is festering dangerously.

Seriously, many if not all, have to look at how messages are being framed. In our eagerness for change, have we forgotten important social mores, honour, respect and integrity?

The ability and desire to respect one another must be there for us to live in harmony.

The willingness to do what is right, the courage to face the voice of the rakyat and for those who are in the force to preserve law and order or any organization - the willingness to do what is right and to stand up what we know in our hearts is right - must be there.

Otherwise, whatever we tell whichever God we believe in would be empty clanging symbals.

Meaningless overtures that seem to have minor functional value.

Anomie would set in.

And we will eventually see how when the moral fibre of society has been ripped apart by greed, we will wither away...and the framework of what used to be a nation that all can be proud of is but the shadow of a page in history.

Has anomie crept into our society?

Will we be witnessing the reverse takeover of our country one day when illegals can be given identity cards and the right to vote when they have none?

According to Durkheim:

Emile Durkheim, a French sociologist, introduced the concept of anomie in his book The Division of Labor in Society, published in 1893. He used anomie to describe a condition of deregulation that was occuring in society. This meant that rules on how people ought to behave with each other were breaking down and thus people did not know what to expect from one another. Anomie, simply defined, is a state where norms (expectations on behaviors) are confused, unclear or not present. It is normlessness, Durkheim felt, that led to deviant behavior. In 1897, Durkheim used the term again in his study on Suicide, referring to a morally deregulated condition. Durkheim was preoccupied with the effects of social change. He best illustrated his concept of anomie not in a discussion of crime but of suicide. More HERE

He believed that anomie is common when the surrounding society has undergone significant changes in its economic fortunes, whether for good or for worse and, more generally, when there is a significant discrepancy between the ideological theories and values commonly professed and what was actually achievable in everyday life. This is contrary to previous theories on suicide which generally maintained that suicide was precipitated by negative events in a person's life and their subsequent depression.

In Durkheim's view, traditional religions often provided the basis for the shared values which the anomic individual lacks. Furthermore, he argued that the division of labor that had been prevalent in economic life since the Industrial Revolution led individuals to pursue egoistic ends rather than seeking the good of a larger community. Robert King Merton also adopted the idea of anomie to develop Strain Theory, defining it as the discrepancy between common social goals and the legitimate means to attain those goals. In other words, an individual suffering from anomie would strive to attain the common goals of a specific society yet would not be able to reach these goals legitimately because of the structural limitations in society. As a result the individual would exhibit deviant behavior. Friedrich Hayek notably uses the word anomie with this meaning.

In closing, I would like to share an old article I wrote on 8th August 2011. I am reposting it again here because I really wonder if it was divine revelation that made me write this:

Giving New Meaning to Reverse Takeover by Masterwordsmith

In mid-November last year, Pauline Hanson, the Australian politician noted for her anti-immigration outbursts, has said she is abandoning plans to move to Britain because "it's overrun with immigrants and refugees." She went on to say that France is becoming filled with Muslims and that the French and English are losing their way of life because they're controlled by foreigners. That scenario could well happen in our own backyard at the rate things are going.

Today, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) lawmakers demanded an emergency sitting of Parliament over claims that 1,600 foreigners had been given citizenship and voting rights, claiming that if left unchecked it would erode Malaysia's constitutional monarchy.

PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar rationalized that the permanent residents who were being given "express" citizenship and voting rights "would not appreciate our royalty as we do." And why?

RPK's latest post Upsetting the Ecological Balance gives the answer:

But the new (post-Merdeka) immigrants into Malaysia do not face death in their country. They do not owe Malaysia their lives. They are merely 'economic refugees'. It's all about money. Their loyalty is to money, not to Malaysia.

Those are the types of people we are giving 'instant citizenship' to. And in time we shall realise the folly of this immigration policy.

They have no memories of the British Colonial era. They have no memories of the Japanese occupation. They have no memories of Merdeka. They have no memories of the Emergency. They have no memories of the creation of Malaysia. They have no memories of the Konfrontasi with Indonesia. They have no memories of May 13. They have no memories of anything at all that Malaysians hold dear. They are here only for the money.

So where do these people's loyalty lie? Certainly not where our loyalties lie because they do not share our culture and value system. They are only loyal to the Ringgit and as long as the Ringgit is there they will become 'true Malaysians'. However, once the Ringgit is no longer there, they would not care two hoots about Malaysia.

What Malaysia could have on its hands is a time-bomb ticking its way to a socio-economic disaster. The prevailing situation is somewhat like a Reverse Takeover whereby you acquire something and then what has been acquired ends up owning you instead!! In short, the hunter has now become the HUNTED!!!

Note also, in the corporate world, a 30% stake in a public enterprise is as good as a controlling stake. So beware. If you think you will limit this exercise to only 30%, it may end up with you losing control.

According to The Malaysian Insider, PR had also claimed that 1,108 permanent residents in the Klang Valley were given the status of full citizens on August 2 alone, and ridiculed the notion that over 1,000 identity cards were issued within a day.

Most alarmingly, PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub also showed documents claiming that between 1.06pm and 2.30pm on August 2, three voters had their status changed from permanent residents to citizens "in the blink of an eye." The Kubang Kerian MP said that the information was downloaded from the NRD website itself and we have a total of 1,597 cases across the country. These are official statistics. What about the dark figure then? (The dark figure represents the discrepancy between actual statistics and those that are not reported.)

Personally, many perceive this is the tip of the iceberg. In my post on Immigrants and Emigrants - Facts and Figures, I wrote:

Strangely, this site shows that the population trend in Malaysia in on an increasing trend and is slightly over 27 million in 2008.

Compare this chart with the tables in the earlier links. Judge for yourself. I am sure the statistics are available but how come the net migration rate is unavailable? How come the population pattern is on the increase in the light of the statistics for birth rate, death rate and the absence of net migration rate for the country?

Just who are leaving and WHO ARE COMING IN???? Can someone kindly explain the demographic pattern??

Clearly, the Pakatan lawmakers and RPK are on the right track in highlighting this impending doomsday scenario awaiting Malaysians. We can talk till the cows come home about 1Malaysia and unity/harmony and all that jazz but if the gene pool of the population is in imbalance, what will happen? Obviously, they will not be loyal citizens.

There is a high probability that Durkheim's anomie will occur here. Anomie is a term meaning "personal feeling of a lack of social norms; normlessness". It describes the breakdown of social norms and values arising from a mismatch between personal or group standards and wider social standards, or from the lack of a social ethic, which produces moral deregulation and an absence of legitimate aspirations.

When immigrants outnumber the original host population, social cohesiveness might be at stake. The social system may then decay into a state of anomie. By then, common values and common meanings are no longer understood or accepted, and new values and meanings have not developed.

For Malaysia to develop, we need citizens with a sense of belonging.  Why are we chasing our own bona fide CITIZENS  (whom some have called pendatang or prostitutes) and letting the first world countries welcome them to contribute to their economies while we place the welcome mat for third world brawn to come in? Worse still, we have those who call themselves citizens who call the authorities to strip some noble citizens of their citizenship! They are well fed and fat!

With absolutely no sense of belonging (normlessness/alienated state), would such citizens care what happens to Malaysia? Their hearts are still with their homeland! Mercenary in nature, they would only care for money. After all, that was why they came in the first place.

The lack of unity will tear the nation apart. If after over half a century of independence, and we still have diatribes almost daily, how can we expect foreign migrants to come in and gel with the population? The nons generally stay away and have been working hard for a future, for a government that does not take care of them. Even so, unity is lacking. What more with migrants?

Take a look at what happened in London recently. Note that the riots happened in the poor section of London where many migrants live.

Unfortunately, 5/5/13 has shown us that voting wisely is NOT enough. Then what else is there for us to do but pray and be ready with all kinds of contingency plans to foil election fraud!

This is currently my FB cover tell the world that as for me and my household, even though the tune may currently sound cacophonic and discordant now, the notes blurred, we will not quell that song to proclaim that one day, true democracy will reign in this my beloved Malaysia.

Call to Action Post GE13

Posted: 06 May 2013 07:32 AM PDT

Majority Malaysians (and this is a fact) are probably still nursing from frustration, anger and disappointment from BN win. Many are even more frustrated, angry and disappointed at the manner in which a political coalition is allowed to win power on the back of outright criminality of vote buying and undue influence of rural folks, if not alleged massive electoral fraud.

For instance, counting agents being prevented from reaching the tallying centre to bring evidence of form 14, or ballot boxes being dropped off in the middle of a field, or electricity outages with suspicion of already opened ballot boxes being swapped, or police whisking away suspected foreign voters given IC illegally to vote.

In the coming days, we can trust Bersih to discover the truth, compile the evidence, and for the political parties to lodge challenges through legal process. All will be published and if there are electoral fraud, hopefully the evidence will be uncovered, and BN will be exposed.

However, in the final analysis, will legal challenges be enough to reverse BN's 44 Parliamentary Seat advantage (and along state seat advantage especially Perak and Terengganu)? That remains to be seen, but for now, as the results stand, Najib has already been sworn in as the Prime Minister. And while Anwar seeks a national consensus to challenge the results, life will go on.

I would like to invite readers to consider another perspective in this campaign. Yes, many voters, especially from the urban and sub-urban/semi-rural areas who have especially been exposed to alternative news in the social media, have bought into the spirit of unity and cooperation of Pakatan Rakyat, pathing the way to renewal of national identity, clean and effective governance, restoration of national institutionsof governance, revitalising our economic competitiveness, and fixing our education system. But I ask - why isn't our support enough? What is that final X factor that's missing?

I would like to submit that the X factor that is missing is a genuinely institutionalised two party/coalition system.

I know that there are inherent disadvantages for Pakatan. The mainstream media is extremely biased and Pakatan does not have the kind of machinery and reach that only a federal administration's resources can provide, especially to rural areas. However, there are also things that Pakatan should have been more prepared, and done better. For it is my view that Pakatan needs to be more than prepared just to beat BN by the scruff of the neck. And it obviously haven't been that, and more. I'm not saying it's Pakatan's fault. It works on finite resources, and it has to set priorities. But here's setting out what went wrong:

1. Shadow cabinet. While that by itself is not an issue, what is the issue is the failure to somehow institutionalise the shadow committees under the Presidential council. What was also awkward is PAS harping at Hadi being an outside chance PM. We know PM is the one who commands the majority of the seats. But pragmatic factors need to be taken into account. DAP seemed the strongest, hence whoever DAP throws its support behind should stand a good chance to be PM. And DAP has said repeatedly that Anwar will be PM. Yet PAS keeps harping on it. Was there some internal dissension and tension within PAS?

2. Quality of criticism. While at national level, BN has been hammered left right and centre by heavyweights like Anwar, Kit Siang, Tony Pua and Rafizi, the states opposition have been pale shadow of themselves. Does Pakatan have enough research assistants, editorial assistants, speech assistants to seriously investigate, report, and make a dent to the credibility of BN state level?

3. Quality of service. Some criticism were levied at MB Khalid Ibrahim for not overseeing his state constituency. Across the nation, many more examples point towards neglect. Does Pakatan have enough service centres that actually provide quality services?

4. Cohesiveness with anti-BN forces. I believe certain Pakatan leaders have become complacent. They think time and tide is in their favour and they do not need to work too hard for that chance. It is obvious that voters expect much more from Pakatan to win their votes, especially the rural folks. Why didn't Pakatan resolve multi-party fights? It's to utter embarrassment of PKR and PAS that they both nominated candidates across not just 1, but 7 constituencies. If I were a BN strategist, I will harp on that until the cows come home. And then they could not agree with SAPP and STAR even though negotiations have started a long time ago.

5. Campaign machinery. Johor election machinery was lacklustre for PAS and PKR. And it was obviously worse in Sarawak and Sabah especially in dealing with the interiors. And worst are machineries of SAPP. Was it because of lack of money? While there is solidarity amongst the top leaders of Pakatan Rakyat, it hasn't translated to solidarity and effective machinery on the ground in those states. Granted, it takes a long time to gestate a proper machinery when little or none existed before, but it is an obvious handicap. Also, Radio Free Malaysia only came online lately. If this has happened right from the start, things might have been different.

6. Election day machinery. How many stories have I heard about polling agents and counting agents who are inexperienced, and ill -equipped to handle the vast permutations of electoral fraud that could take place. Was Pakatan truly prepared? Was there actually central coordination, not just for parties, but for Pakatan, to channel assistance to where is needed most, or it was each candidate to their own device? What about coordination with NGOs?

7. Lastly, is a commentary for the Malaysians who have voted for Pakatan. Yes, if you are active on social media, you would also have contributed by spreading the message. But my question for you is, did you think you have done enough, given the circumstances? Perhaps more importantly, the question is whether you can do more? To frame this question differently, how much do you desire change and how much are you willing to put the money where your mouth is, figuratively speaking?

In a genuine national level two coalition/party system, these machineries should have been institutionalised. In Malaysia, it is only held together by Anwar Ibrahim and a few others (which by itself is an incredible achievement).

In days ahead, majority Malaysians who are frustrated with the results will be confronted by a series of choices - stay and sulk, stay and help, or leave Malaysia (and hopefully return to vote the next time). In the coming weeks and months, all will be made clear whether BN is on a trajectory to win back Malaysians' confidence, or will it be the same BN wont of massive deficits, massive profligacy and lining the pockets of cronies, massive corruption, massive race-baiting and massive abuse of power. Assuming BN stays the same, there is an even chance for Pakatan to finally wrestle the federal government from BN. But knowing the ample shortfall that I have set out above, Pakatan will need a lot of help and resources on a constant basis. For those Malaysians who are staying, my question for you is, will you be willing to render your assistance, and how far?

As you can see from the list above, Pakatan is in need of many things - monetary assistance, help with managing and providing services through service centres, assistance with investigation, research, report writing, and lending knowledge and effort in areas of marketing, public relations, engineers, actuarial scientists, IT. media, even change management/management consulting etc. There is a need to create a centralised system of assistance and channelling of support where it is desperately needed. There is a need to train campaigners and PACABA earlier so that they are well prepared to take on electoral fraud. These are all the things that require constant vigilance, for that is how developed democracies work. By way of example, before Obama's re-election, thousands of lawyers were standing by ready to contest close calls, even cancelling their Christmas break. We cannot wish the system to be fair - it is in need of constant monitoring and fine-tuning and challenging. Therefore, there is no shortage of form and method of your participation to make this country the way you want it to be. But only through institutionalised volunteerism, plus a steady stream of material resources, can we truly have a two party system.

Once again, I reiterate that Pakatan must be more than prepared, in order to win. Its machinery must be world class, and be better than BN, to win. Its people must be more tech savvy than BN. It's people must be more knowledgeable than BN. And above all, its people must be cleaner, more inspired, more motivated than BN.

Pakatan leadership has a lot cut out for them in coming days. Apart from challenging the results on grounds of electoral fraud, apart from setting up their respective state governments, and apart from containing the potential reversion to conservatism in PAS, Pakatan leadership must also realise that they need to take the nuts and bolts to a higher level of complexity. For they cannot do the same things over again and expecting the same results. They need to reconcile their differences with all anti-BN forces. They need to start telling Malaysians what they really need to win so that Malaysians will try to provide. Even BN has grown on their sophistry of winning through electoral fraud, and has embraced social media (albeit unsuccessfully).

This requires new blood, new thinking, new financial backers, and even better candidates and support staff - this means you. You may think that Pakatan leaders have heard a solution before, but you'll be surprised that  they miss some obvious things. Pakatan should immediately continue to engage the imagination of the people and it must start taking steps to institutionalise volunteerism and not wait until the eleventh hour. The preparation for GE14 starts now and we don't have a minute to lose.

Therefore, I call upon you to volunteer. Malaysia needs you more than ever for the final push. Do your part so that you and your children will have a better future. If each of us contribute in some small ways, and ever so often, we alleviate much of the burden of the party workers and enable everyone to focus on things each individual does best. Through our cooperation and volunteerism, we already show the future of what Malaysia can be, a different, far greater Malaysia than one aspired by UMNO/BN.

BN Kena Sedar Diri, Majoriti Rakyat Tolak Kamu!

Posted: 06 May 2013 08:44 AM PDT

A modern-day hell hound at large!

A modern-day hell hound at large! 05 May 2013 21:01, Written by Nay Tun Naing

In 1936, student leader Aung San (independence architect General Aung San) featured an article titled 'A hell hound at large' in Ohway Magazine when he was editor in charge of the magazine.
The article angered the British authorities of the Rangoon University (now Yangon University). Aung San was expelled from university as he was accountable for the article written by student Nyo Mya under the pseudonym 'Yama Min' (King of Hell), sparking a nation-wide students' movement.

Today, the time has also come to expose truth and bring justice. A person or a certain group of people is committing destructive acts to put Myanmar on the brink of bloodshed. They are filled with the spirit of reviving dictatorship. Their acts and tactics are as same as those of the previous military junta.
With impunity, their position in the country is likened to a situation in which 'a modern-day hell hound is at large.
Taking advantage of today's speedy internet communications, those attempting to revive authoritarian system have changed their propaganda. They have managed to hit the targets by working with energy and enthusiasm on social Facebook pages. They have made great strides in their attempts. They are found to have caused incitements among the public with the use of a government propaganda mechanism.
I was questioned by the commission formed by the Parliament for investigation into Dr. Seik Phwar's article. I told the commission that I know the information for a long time. I told them that Dr. Seik Phwar could be more than a person. There could be a very well-formed organization behind it.
It surprised me that members of the commission already know who Dr. Seik Phwar or the leader of that organization is. According to the facts I had gathered, I told them I knew who Dr. Seik Phwar was. A commission member who used to work with Seik Phwar in the same department agrees to the facts I pointed out.
The additional fact is that the Parliament already found out the address Seik Phwar used. I was not shocked when the commission said they found out who Seik Phwar was, based on the above facts. The Seik Phwar investigation did not affect freedom of writing for sure but the investigation was made to find out who is behind Dr. Seik Phwar or the organization.
Seik Phwar seems to think that the parliament will never find out who he is and it will not reveal even if it is found out. A previous Facebook account named "Sitt Aung" disappeared before Seik Phwar appeared and new writings no longer came out on the "Voice of Myanmar" blog under the name of Professor Dr Seik Phwar. But a new name came out in a new place. It is "Hludu Maung Karlu" account on Facebook. I will tell why I can say this.
Writers cannot change their writing styles completely. Whatever names they change, they cannot alter their original writing styles absolutely as time goes by. Every writer knows it. It is found when closely monitored that Hludu Maung Karlu's writing style is the same as Sitt Aung's and Seik Phwar's.
Seik Phwar and Hludu Maung Karlu attacked those who want "genuine democracy", and honored the military and "their" people.
Propagandists wanting to revitalize dictatorship tried to strengthen their membership at first on social websites. Secondly, they allowed everyone to make comments on their writings. Thirdly, they made their members cheer up their writings on the sites. In this way they tried to spread their propaganda.
Hludu Maung Karlu is well known among social networking website users in Myanmar. He attacks politicians and journalists who have won public support, including the opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
Now, his target is to incite religious riots. In a conflict, which occurred at a mosque in Tharkayta township, his and his accomplices' incitement played a key role. He continuously stirred up religious hatred before the Meikhtila riots in central Myanmar. His Facebook page is now filled with posts provoking hatred against Muslims. Worse is his attack against the opposition party National League for Democracy (NLD), which is expected to win the vast majority of public votes in 2015 election.
He accuses the NLD of being a Muslim party.
The state-owned media used the derogatory word "Muslim Kalar" but have not made any explanation about it yet. Such usage was not possible to appear on the paper unless a senior official granted permission. No investigation was made as to who is behind the usage or who ordered to use the word.
Professor Dr Seik Phwar is a senior official of the information ministry, his colleague who is a parliamentarian, officially admitted to the probe commission. Maung Karlu also has instant access to that news which is out of reach for ordinary people. He could post such news on his page in real time. This raises suspect among the people. It is strange that those causing incitements on facebook pages are similarly named with the propagandists in the state-owned papers in the previous military regime.
Now the investigation commission has found out the identity of Dr. Seik Phwar. We are watching whether Dr. Seik Phwar and its manipulators will be charged by the parliament or the government.
Likewise, Hludu Maung Karlu and its group, which have links to Seik Phwar, need to be identified and taken action. Only then, could the public see the light and justice can be done for the Muslim people living in Myanmar to alleviate their sufferings.
If the parliament and the government do not take action against those perpetrators, people who want the truth will reveal about this to the international community. Besides, they are going to report to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and other UN organizations. Hludu Maung Karlu should know that the ICC won't hesitate to discover the IP of Facebook user and email address.
In fact, U Wirathu and Buddhist monks or the 969 movements are not the main culprits of religious incitements. But Dr. Seik Phwar, Hludu Maung Karlu and their accomplices are held accountable for this. They need to be exposed. Otherwise, Myanmar will seriously suffer a religious crisis before 2015. And the country may face bloodshed.
The parliament and the government are fully responsible for making known the modern-day hell hound.
For me, I am brave enough to be questioned either at the investigation commission or at the ICC.

GE13: Commotion at Ayer Itam Road

Posted: 06 May 2013 03:22 AM PDT

What a day I've had! Yesterday morning saw me going to Taman Siakap in Seberang Jaya to cast my vote in the General Elections. As usual, the roads leading to the polling station, a primary school that my children had attended when we were still staying in this town, were jampacked with people and vehicles.

I only managed to park the car some distance away, squeezed between two other vehicles, and then walked pass the makeshift stalls that were set up by the supporters of the two main political parties, the Barisan Nasional (BN) and the Parti Keadilan Malaysia (PKR). I didn't pay much attention to their last-minute attempts at canvassing for votes and proceeded directly towards the school.

At the gate, I was given directions to my voting lane but there, a mild shock awaited me. A queue of about 50 voters were already there waiting in line. Luckily, a cool breeze blew throughout my long wait till the front of the queue. Possibly waited about 50 minutes or so but the time passed by quickly enough. Friendly faces around who were all too willing to strike up a conversation with me.

Then it was my turn to enter the classroom. The polling clerks asked for my identification and then covered my left forefinger with their supposedly "indelible ink" which washed off later with soap and water. Then was issued with two folded slips of ballot paper and directed to the polling booth.

I took a look at the two pieces of paper. The only name that I could recognise was that of the parliamentary candidate for Permatang Pauh: Anwar Ibrahim. I have to admit that the other candidates were all aliens to me. In fact, when it came to marking my ballot slips, I had to make doubly sure that I was selecting the PKR symbol.

Voting over, I made my way to the island where I was scheduled to volunteer my time as a polling and counting agent for the Democratic Action Party (DAP). My destination, the Kong Min school beside the roundabout at Ayer Itam, was one of four or five polling and counting centres for the Air Putih state constituency.

As I made a slow drive towards the roundabout, traffic was heavy. I noticed an empty parking space on the opposite side of the road and so, I swung my car round the roundabout and parked there. Good decision as it turned out to be as the road from the roundabout towards the Ayer Itam village would soon become the scene for dramatic scuffles between groups of people supporting rival political parties.

At first, I had put all the noise down to rowdiness and people who were simply enjoying the carnival-like occasion of a general election. Air horns were blaring and shouts of "Ubah" were heard regularly. Then as I watched, a group of young Chinese motorcyclists - obviously, they were paid BN mercenaries - dressed in blue tees rode down from Ayer Itam. As they rode by, they were jeered good humouredly by the DAP supporters. What would you expect? The moment passed but my fellow DAP volunteers who had gathered within the school compound knew that they would return soon.

True enough, around two o'clock or so, we again heard a commotion outside the school. Further up the road, a group in blue tees had gathered. The leader among them, a hulky Mamak gorilla with a perennial scowl on his mug led his Chinese machai riders right into the DAP supporters. They were booed and jeered at the face-off. There was a lot of tension in the air when this happened. Though I had a vantage point from within the school compound, I couldn't see much. Then, the blue mob turned around.

Somewhere along the way, the two groups of people began jostling one another. Then, amid pleas to stop from spectators on the road, plastic chairs and motorcycle helmets were hurled as projectiles. Sticks were suddenly being used to attack and whack people.

What made this incident into a farce was the attitude of the traffic policemen on duty. I know that they were supposed to deal with the traffic but to turn their back to the commotion which was just feet away and ignore it? Was traffic more important to them or stopping fights? A policeman is still a policeman, no matter what's his assigned duties, right? And it was several seconds later that a group of blue-clothes policemen donned their vests and rushed over to investigate the incident, by which time everything was over. Huh!
In my opinion, the provocation was all done by this mob of BN hooligans led by this Mamak gorilla of an instigator. Somewhere in the video below, you can see him gesturing and waving his hand to urge his people onwards. If that is not provocation, I don't know what is. Anyway, here is the video of the incident. You can make your own conclusion.

penang PR win big in the GE13

Posted: 06 May 2013 02:39 AM PDT

YAHOO!!! i'm so happy and damn proud because i'm a penangite.

that's right…. despite so many free food and free concerts that barisan nasional (BN) dished out to penangites, glad to know that penangites did not choose BN! of course there were also the money politics that had been going on and votes buying and gangsters in action…. oh and the so many many 1malaysia flags that can be seen here, there, everywhere, obstructing pedestrians, traffic, turning art-pieces ugly and so on. i guess penangites were very disgusted at the money politics and the many 1malaysia flags, that they decided to teach BN a lesson.

sure, the daily free food, you see so many people there, the concert with international singers, you see many people there, the money 1malaysia/BN blatantly and openly give out to not vote PR and people taking it – yes they went to the free food, they take the money but they know NOT to vote BN!! kudos to my fellow penangites.

well, penang now has 40 state seats. 19 came from DAP. all the 19 DAP candidates contested, won the seats! 9 from PKR and 1 from PAS. in parliament, they have 10 seats, 7 from DAP and 3 from PKR.

well, you can read the report about the penang win from the star online. full result can be found on the SPR website.

i'm very glad that penang managed to obtain 2/3 majority and continue to rule penang. the charismatic, likeable lim guan eng will continue to be our chief minister. however, i'm sad that PR did not managed to capture putrajaya (be the federal government). so sad… and this was because BN cheated! there had been many documented cases with proof, especially on videos on the fraud that happened e.g. busloads of banglas with IC ferried to voting centres, vote buying, sudden blackout that cause extra ballot bags to appear and lots more. here is the list taken from someone's facebook.

well, bersih is going to set up a tribunal to investigate all the frauds that happened, so if you have documented proof, do contact them.

above picture shows all the 19 DAP candidates who won.

What A Suspenseful Night..

Posted: 06 May 2013 06:34 AM PDT

It is of my little concern (bukan gila talak ok), but I have to relate a bit of the drama last night. I heard Dato' Ariff was already leading by 7 thousand plus or so..

And way before midnight, Dato' Ariff had smsed his children that he had won..he did sms me later to mention his unofficial win.

Then everything was children and I had glued ourselves at the TV from 9pm..or was it earlier..still there were no official news of his winning status despite him telling us so.

By 3am, when I was in the bathroom, I heard my children screaming like a goal was scored by their favourite football team.
It was finally announced that Dato' Ariff had won in Raub parliament and his majority was 2 thousand something..Alhamdulillah.

For a moment I thought that additional ballot boxes were conveniently brought in to save the BN candidate..and I feared the worst, but prayed hard for Allah SWT to save him from any evil intentions.

Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT blessed him ample protection from any cruel plan that may have been lurking frantically among some desperate, scrupulous minds..

Dato' Ariff will be facing many devious political opponents from now on..
He must be extra careful.
May he succeed in performing a good parliamentarian service to the people of Raub who gave him their trust..
InsyaAllah he can do a remarkable job..Ameen..

Now I'm sure he needs to wear his Datoship medals for the swearing-in ceremony.
When I was angry with him after the divorce, I dismantled them..detached the pieces and wanted to sell it off for a fortune..thank God I couldn't fine a buyer..
DYMM Tuanku Sultan Pahang would have surely summoned me to the palace and banished me!
Well..I better fixed it back..if I can remember how..

Congrats to him and to all of us who rejoice in his success...thank God!
Allahhu Akbar..Alhamdulillah..

For YAB Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak..please please do not forget what you promised Malaysian voters this PRU 13.
Thank You Sir..

And this is from an Fb status..betul ker Tok Najib punya FB akaun?
Hopefully not..check this out please.

Anyway..Congrats to UMNO/BN too..Hidup BN! Hidup BN!

Keputusan PRU 13 is a loud wake-up call untuk UMNO/BN.

UMNO/BN masih bernasib baik kerana boleh membentuk kerajaan..muhasabah lah wahai UMNO/BN..kita betulkan parti UMNO ke arah yang boleh menyerap kembali keyakinan semua orang Melayu menjadi bersatu..InsyaAllah.

From Malaysiakini

"Somewhere in the world there is a defeat for everyone. Some are destroyed by defeat, and some made small and mean by victory. Greatness lives in one who triumphs equally over defeat and victory."  -  John Steinbeck (The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights)

NONEThe above is the last few paragraphs of A Kadir Jasin's blog post on the results of the concluded general election and on the issue of the so-called 'Chinese tsunami' that seem to have engulfed Umno thinking in Putrajaya.

The narrative in most pro-establishment blogs is one of retribution to the Chinese community for abandoning the social contract of racial give-and-take of Umno. I am neither shocked nor perturbed by this because seeing the way how pro-opposition partisan operate in cyberspace, especially some DAP supporters (apparatchiks) who engage in the politics of hate, all the while decrying that of Umno's and the vitriol they heap on pro-establishment partisans, all this is to be expected.

MCA president Chua Soi Lek's threat to the Chinese community that the MCA will not participate in the new BN federal government remains to be seen, but what the MCA is doing is merely fuelling the retribution narrative of pro-establishment forces. In other words, there will be no real reconciliation but merely an extension of Umno benefice to Chinese plutocratic interests to maintain the multiracial facade which is important for various economic and propaganda reasons.

Umno can rule alone

While I have never been in the habit of quoting Kadir to bolster any of my arguments, the themes of this particular post of his is something I can get behind. Anyone who had any real knowledge of the mood on the ground would have paid attention to William Case's perceptive article on the chances of Pakatan Rakyat claiming the throne in Putrajaya. Optimism usually gets the better of us. The Chinese/Malay dialectic although it plays well in the race discourse is really a minor narrative in the goal of 'ubahing' Malaysia. The greater story is the class divisions in the Malay community that translates to the rural/urban divide of the voting patterns in the Malay polity.
NONEThe one thing Umno has proved with this election is that it can retain the federal government without the aid of the 'others'. Until the others lose the demographic game, the best we can hope for is that urban areas will always be the base for a supposed multiracial alliance.

It is pointless to warn against "racialising" Malaysian politics as long as a greater minority group is aligning itself with a faction of the Malay polity whose aspirations are at odds with the racial dogma of the current ruling Malay elite that holds sway with the rural Malay population.

The moral and intellectual bankruptcy of 1Malaysia and Bangsa Malaysia demagoguery is demonstrated with the reality that people have always voted across racial lines when supporting the alliance of their choice and of course the agendas of opposition political parties and their targeted racial demographics. However, the reality is that the aspirations of a sizeable section of a multiracial urban population are in conflict with a dominant Malay rural electorate. Therefore, it is a racial game played on many levels but which always revolve around the Malay community. In fact I would argue that barring the possible retributive design of the federal government on the Chinese community, what this election has done is once and for all define the conflict in the context of the Malay community.

Simmering class tensions

Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad knows his audience well. This is why he was screaming his head off stirring the racial and religious pot and throwing his support behind racist candidates like Ibrahim Ali and Zulkifli Noordin. The fact that these two lost, is something any right-thinking Malaysian can take comfort in but I do wonder if Zulkifli had stuck to his Kulim-Bandar Baru seat, would he have delivered it to BN since BN did win this seat? I hope that even if he stood there, voters there would have rejected him as they did Ibrahim Ali in Pasir Mas for whatever reasons.
kl112 rally people's uprising children with mothers crowd bigHowever, it all goes back to the simmering class tensions within the Malay community that Umno has managed to keep a lid on by its use of gerrymandering, creation of instant citizens, racial/religious fear-mongering and of course the handout culture. Ironically, these are the very measures that would break the camel's back in the eventual class struggle that would spill onto the streets in the near future.

It is pointless for Umno to attempt reconciliation with not only the Chinese community but also anyone who voted for Pakatan merely because the aspirations that divide the various Malaysian communities are the very ones that Umno seeks to propagate. Unless Umno manages to reconcile the aspirations of those Malays who have rejected Umno and those who believe in the system Umno continues to propagate, eventually Umno will face a Malay tsunami.

Another 5 Years!

Posted: 06 May 2013 12:19 AM PDT

So, the 13th General Election has come and gone and I'm totally disheartened by the results which saw the fraudulent ruling regime being the mandate to screw with us for another 5 years. Another 5 years to bleed us dry. Another 5 years to fatten up their pockets. Another 5 years to boss and dictate us.

I was really looking forward to a new dawn and things were looking good for an opposition victory until the hanky panky started and the opposition started to get screwed every which way. I really don't mind if the people really choose the fraudulent ruling regime but the fact that they cheated and blatantly mind you is what pisses me off.

The only losers here are the people of Malaysia. I'm prepared for a rise in the cost of everything, increased crime, more corruption and the fattening of the ruling regime's pockets. I feel like hanging up some brown string lights as a sign of protest but what will that achieve?

Ali "Last Term" Menjadi Kenyataan, Salahkan Rakyat Tak Hargai Jasanya

Posted: 06 May 2013 02:30 AM PDT

Ditanya mengenai masa depan politiknya, beliau berkata "biar masa menentukannya". – Bernama
