Pakatan Rakyat Diramal Bentuk Kerajaan Baru Ambil-Alih Putrajaya

Pakatan Rakyat Diramal Bentuk Kerajaan Baru Ambil-Alih Putrajaya

Pakatan Rakyat Diramal Bentuk Kerajaan Baru Ambil-Alih Putrajaya

Kerusi marginal tentukan pemenang

Posted: 03 May 2013 08:50 AM PDT

Muhyiddin "frontrunner" jika BN menang tipis
Ancaman panggilan telefon Muhyiddin

Seorang Cyber-trooper Bertaubat, Seru Rakan Lain Henti Buat Kerja Dosa

Posted: 03 May 2013 08:24 AM PDT

Saya tahu saya banyak berdosa.

Saya nak mintak maaf dekat Harakahdaily, kerana selama ini menghentam semua berita yang Harakahdaily terbitkan. Saya meminta maaf kepada semua penyokong/pimpinan PAS/DAP/PKR atas komen2 saya yang mengarut/merapu/mencerca/menghina anda semua selama ini.

Saya minta maaf, saya tahu kalau saya mati tadi, segala apa yang saya buat selama ini akan datang balik menghantui saya. Saya fikir, cukuplah saya menjadi macai menghina anda semua, tapi akhirnya saya masuk neraka.

Saya benar2 bertaubat. Saya takkan merapu lagi. Apa yang saya tulis selama ini, semua saya tahu bohong, tapi saya gila duit. Tapi kini saya sedar, duit yang banyak, kalau mati masuk neraka tak guna juga.

Saya minta maaf Harakahdaily. Saya dah bertaubat.

Think, who empowered UMNO to ride roughshod over us, by supporting them in passing unjust laws. The subservient MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP and host of other parties, enabled them. UMNO was the mandore and the rest coolies. Take note that UMNO is Perkasa and Perkasa is UMNO, look at Ibrahim Ali for Pasir Mas,  and Zulkifli Noordin for  Shah Alam. Not forgetting "Our Great Leader". UMNO is a supremacist and racist outfit.

Look at the corruption scandals, only the big ones are mentioned, UMNO has it's fingers in all the 65 cash registers here. You can sum it up in one word, Robber Barons! Until today no action and you guys want to give them another 5 years to plunder and pillage our country.

What about the killings, until today no one has a clear answer for the deaths of Teoh Beng Hock, Kugan, Sharabani and so many others. Altantuya the Mongolian citizen murdered, will all of them get justice? If you vote for BN you condone their murders. No one will ever know why they died neither will justice be served.

Expect the increase in toll charges which they were raring to raise quite sometime back. Increase in fuel prices will come back with a vengeance. Combining the raising of the toll and the fuel prices will act as a catalyst to send other day to day necessities to spiral out of control. If you want hear Najib and Moohyiddin  say, "Change your lifestyle"  then vote the BN in again. The poor will become poorer the Robber Barons will become richer.

While you all down due to the escalating costs, wait for this, GST, this will make you buckle over. After that you will want to climb a tall building to hurl yourself down. So think before you cast your vote.

Remember a vote for MCA, MIC, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN), Peoples Progressive Party (PPP), Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPD), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) is a BIG VOTE FOR UMNO

NUDITY
I was driving with my three young children one warm  summer evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark naked!
As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'

OPINIONS
On the  first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note from his mother. The note read, 'The opinions expressed by this child are not necessarily those of his parents.'

KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the phone.

'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you  right now She's hitting the bottle.

MORE NUDITY
A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in  amazement and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy before?'

POLICE # 1
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6  years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?'
'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well,  then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?'

POLICE #2
It was the  end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment,  my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back there?' he asked.
'It sure  is,' I replied.
Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, 'What'd he do?

ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs.
One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced  myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!'

DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party.  When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned,
'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit.'
'And why not, darling?'
'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that  nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead  robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the  disposal of the deceased.
The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate  prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.'

SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. 'I'm just wasting my time,' she said to her mother. 'I can't read, I can't write, and they  won't let me talk!'

BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old  leaf that had been pressed in between the pages.
'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out.
'What have you got there, dear?'
With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he  answered, 'I think it's Adam's underwear!'

Have a lovely evening!

‘Allah’ row about unreasonable laws, say east Malaysian churches

Posted: 03 May 2013 04:44 AM PDT

Malaysian Insider

By Boo Su-Lyn May 03, 2013
The Christian community forms about a quarter of Sabah's population and almost half of Sarawak's population, where they mainly worship in Bahasa Malaysia church services. - File pic KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 — The "Allah" controversy is not about religion, but about "unreasonable government policies and laws", Sabah and Sarawak churches said today ahead of polling day on Sunday. The Bumiputera churches in Sabah and Sarawak released a pastoral communique yesterday that called on Christians to speak up amid threats to burn their holy scriptures and government policies that prevent the minority group from referring to their God as "Allah". "In the face of such unreasonableness, we cannot and should not remain silent," said the Anglican Bishop of Kuching and Association of Churches in Sarawak chairman Rev Datuk Bolly Lapok in the communique.
"The time for us to speak has come...We need a tangible commitment from the authorities to respect and uphold the freedom of religion guaranteed by the Federal Constitution - the supreme law of the nation. We believe non-Christians, including Muslims, also share our concern," said Lapok, who is also the Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Southeast Asia.

ACS' strongly-worded statement comes just two days before the country's closest election in history, where a sizeable chunk of voters in Sabah and Sarawak are Bumiputera Christians who read the Alkitab, or Malay-language bibles. The Christian community forms about a quarter of Sabah's population and almost half of Sarawak's population, where they mainly worship in Bahasa Malaysia church services. Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak recently defended a government appeal against the 2009 High Court ruling that allowed the Christian community to use the Arabic word "Allah".

But UPKO president Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, whose party is part of the Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, soft pedalled Najib's remarks and stressed that Christians would not stop calling their God "Allah", even if the courts barred them from doing so. The Court of Appeal has fixed May 30 for another case management on the government and Home Ministry's appeal against the 2009 High Court decision that the word "Allah" can be used by the Catholic weekly newspaper Herald. Lapok said today that Christians were merely demanding for their consitutional rights to be upheld. "Surely the way forward is no longer found in the status quo which expects the Bumiputera Church in Sabah and Sarawak to remain silent," he said.

Malay rights group Perkasa threatened last January to torch Malay-language bibles. The Election 2013 campaign in the past two weeks has also been marred with billboards that paint churches as the usurpers of "Allah", as well as pamphlets that warn Malays about other religious groups using the word "Allah". Lapok pointed out today that native communities in Sabah and Sarawak have used the word "Allah" for generations and long before the formation of Malaysia in 1963.

"Native Bumiputeras have always been using the term "Allah" in all aspects of the profession and practice of their Christian faith from baptism to final rites and these include in services, prayers, praise, liturgy, worship, and religious education," he said. Najib's administration had issued a 10-point formula for east Malaysia before the 2011 Sarawak state election to resolve the blockade of shipments of Malay-language bibles.

In the 10-point resolution, the Cabinet, through its minister Datuk Seri Idris Jala, assured the large Bumiputera Christian population in Sabah and Sarawak that they were free to bring in and use their bibles in Malay as well as in indigenous languages.

Malaysia's tryst with destiny on Sunday by Tommy Thomas

Posted: 03 May 2013 04:21 AM PDT

From Malaysiakini

COMMENT In one of the most eloquent and moving speeches of the 20th century, Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru announced to the world on Aug 14, 1947: "At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom", and that India had "made a tryst with destiny" upon becoming independent. On May 5, 2013, this most important of date in our 56 years of independence, Malaysia too will have a date with destiny. True Merdeka is within our grasp, to be freed from the bondage of BN misrule. But are voters ready to take destiny into our hands?

It is a given that the last few days of the campaign, the events occurring on voting day, the counting of the votes and the appointment of the prime minister will be marred by the dirty tricks of BN, and the agencies of the state, in their efforts to steal the general election. The will of the electorate is without meaning to them. Institutions which, and individuals who, are obliged to discharge their duties honestly, independently and impartially will act in a terribly partisan way. The election will therefore be neither free nor fair.

Nonetheless, the voters, who will ultimately decide Malaysia's future, must not be discouraged. Rather, they must be fortified by a single-minded determination to ensure that Pakatan Rakyat will peacefully take power by becoming victorious in the 13th general election.

Don't let them steal GE13

Individually and collectively, Malaysian voters have much power and influence on the outcome. We must not allow this election to be stolen from us. The measures that we can take include the following:

1. In order to diminish the effect of cheating, a record turnout must take place. If 85 percent of the 13.3 million voters actually cast their ballots, it will mean that more than 11 million Malaysians voted on that day. Every vote counts. Turn up early.

2. In order to diminish the effect of foreigners voting illegally, every genuine Malaysian voter must be vigilant when casting his or her vote. All genuine voters must closely observe those near them in the polling station, engage with them in conversation and if they behave oddly, alert the agents of both parties who should be in attendance at the polling centre.

Tech-savvy voters will no doubt film anything of suspicion and immediately post them on Facebook or YouTube. Millions of Malaysians must record their experiences on Sunday. This will be history in the making.

3. Do not vote for BN merely because the voter has personally received monetary or other benefits in the last few months. Such gifts are blatant electioneering of the worst kind. Indeed, these are prohibited under our election laws (but unfortunately, never enforced by our courts).

Further, this is eventually to be paid for by the taxpayers, which means the voters themselves, or their children. The national debt is rapidly increasing. These payments are not paid from monies belonging to the BN or Najib Abdul Razak. They are abusing their power as trustees of public money to "buy" voters by using the rakyat's own money and giving it back to them.

BN's scare-mongering

4. Do not be frightened by the BN's scare-mongering. Intimidating and threatening Malaysians have been a deliberate electoral policy of the BN. For 44 years, it has been the May 13, 1969 riots.

Two other threats have recently surfaced. First, that Bursa Malaysia will collapse and the economy damaged if Pakatan wins. Secondly, that the hudud will be introduced. Millions of Malaysians who would have voted to bring Pakatan to power will support the Bursa, if prices slide. It is the policies of the BN that have created the ever-growing natural debt and the massive outflow of funds that have weakened our economy. Pakatan can only strengthen the failed economy. Insofar as the hudud is concerned, PAS has accepted that it is only part of its party agenda, but not that of the Pakatan coalition. Because a two-thirds majority of Parliament is needed to amend the federal constitution to implement hudud, PAS, on its own, cannot achieve it. Accordingly, all these threats are hollow.

5. For those who remain fearful, remember the comforting words that President Franklin Roosevelt used in his inaugural address in 1933: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

6. Do not be influenced by the brazen propaganda of our TV, radio and mainstream newspapers. They are so one-sided that it offends all decency. Vote according to your conscience. Do what you think is right.

7. In order to reduce the effects of defections and party-hopping by any unprincipled and greedy members of parliament elected on May 5, which could defeat the will of the people, as happened in Sabah in 1991 and Perak in 2009, Malaysians who want change by voting for a Pakatan government must elect a sufficient number of Pakatan parliamentarians.

A simple majority is triggered at 112 out of 222 seats. But any Pakatan victory below 130 seats may not provide a sufficient cushion if crossovers take place. Hence, the popular vote target should be 7.5 million out of 11 million votes, which would mean getting about 68 percent of the popular vote. If sufficient right-thinking Malaysians act this way, we will finally, after half a century of a continuous Umno-dominated government.

We will then have a new federal government that will lead us to a new Malaysia: a second, and more important Merdeka. May the Almighty God bless us by ensuring this outcome.

Mereka tidak pernah berubah , politik rimba rosak bahan kempen PKR

LAWAN MULA TERTEKAN ; 'BILLBOARD' CHE'GUBARD DISIMBAH CAT MERAH

Ayuh Pertahan Pulau Pinang, Menuju Putrajaya

The ghost of elections past by Commander (Rtd) S. Thayaparan formerly of the Royal Malaysian Navy

 From Malaysiakini

"Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."  -  Abraham Lincoln

COMMENT Pro-establishment forces in this country pick at the scabs of May 13 in an effort to warn voters that their choice determines if violence is the fate that awaits us if we make the wrong choice. As always this conflict revolves around the Malay/Chinese dynamic with the latter (pro-opposition Chinese) demonised for abandoning the racial formula that kept us safe for so long and the former (pro-opposition Malays) traitors to the cause of their religion and race. The threat of violence, although very real, is nonetheless a morally bankrupt idea. If the only reason why you are in power is fear of reprisals then we might as well make it a law(s) that there will be no opposition parties, no freedom of speech, no freedom of assembly or whatever else is deemed a threat to peace and stability but more importantly, there will be no elections.

Because this is essentially what all these threats of violence means. Vote for us or else. If you really subscribe to this, what you should do is skip the "vote" part and get to work on maintaining the "or else" part. The reality of course is that there is that, looking at the racial groupings of both alliance and the underlying themes of their manifestoes, there is very little that differentiates them for each other. If the only thing keeping you in power is the threat that the Malay majority would react violently if their "position" as "master" of this land is endangered, then by all means establish a set of laws that would bar non-Malays from entering politics.

If the best you can offer is that the electorate should be "grateful" for all that has been given to them and that believing otherwise is a sign of "corrupt" Western thinking, then this charade of attempting to be "the best democracy in the world" should end. If the best you can offer is that voting "wisely" means voting for an entrenched failing system, then what you should do is not only think for us but also ensure that we never attempt to exercise our judgement.

Shift of power

If anything the sub-theme in all my articles in an emergence of an alternative racial formula or a reshuffling of the racial deck. Although there are numerous issues that have been exploited by the establishment and the opposition which range from class, race and religious preoccupations, the only people who would stand to lose if there is a shift of power, are the ones who have benefitted economically from the system of cronyism and patronage. In other words for the average Joe Rakyat, unless Pakatan Rakyat sincerely carries out its system-wide reforms, there will be very little overt change from the way of life they are used to. And this is a reasonable proposition as far as I am concerned.

Then why vote, an extremely intelligent young Malaysiakini subscriber (who is a registered voter and often spars with me concerning my partisanship and a range of other issues) asked in an email. I replied with this quote from the late David Foster Wallace, a writer whose essays I prefer rather than his works of fiction: "If you are bored and disgusted by politics and don't bother to vote, you are in effect voting for the entrenched establishments of the two major parties, who please rest assured are not dumb, and who are keenly aware that it is in their interests to keep you disgusted and bored and cynical and to give you every possible reason to stay at home doing one-hitters and watching MTV on primary day.

"By all means stay home if you want, but don't bullshit yourself that you're not voting. In reality, there is no such thing as not voting: you either vote by voting, or you vote by staying home and tacitly doubling the value of some Diehard's vote."

May 13 narratives

The claim is that young people have forgotten all about May 13. Well, my argument is that most people do not know jack about May 13 with the exception of the pro-establishment or pro-opposition narratives. Umno has made it clear that there would be no national debate on the subject because who knows what skeletons and present-day walking cadavers would be implicated in such collective soul searching. So besides the young ignorant people, the Chinese community is also blamed for enabling the split in the Malay vote. It all goes back to gratitude and the racial formula. If BN was serious in maintaining the utilitarian value of this precious formula, they would not have spent the last decades creating a bureaucratic class which is not only a strain on the system but also inadvertently exacerbated class tensions within the Malay community.
NONEThe opposition has always been blamed for the violence in street demonstration but this canard that was obliterated in the Himpunan Bangkit march earlier this year. What this march demonstrated is that if the security apparatus did their jobs as opposed to taking orders from who knows where, a mass gathering of Malaysians who oppose the present regime could be a peaceful affair.

Take the cow's head protest for instance. The only problem I had with the protest was the manner in which the authorities dealt with them. Not only they had an understanding police escort, they later had the home minister sitting with these protestors and asking right-thinking Malaysians to "understand" their motives, men who were later charged with sedition.

If anyone from the opposition had done such a provocative display of discontent, I can assure you the response would be very different. Or how about the spitting out of the Holy sacrament by reporters who went undercover in an attempt to expose religious conversions. What ever happened to them? If we look close enough, we will always discover that provocations made by people supportive of the agenda of Umno are coddled as part of the unspoken social contract that non-Malays should always remember to fall in line.

We're not scared anymore

Then we come to the politics of hate. As an Indian or Hindu, why should I be offended by the comments of Perkasa vice-president Zulkifli Noordin? I expect such racism as the natural consequence of a system predicated on separating us along racial/religious lines. People who should take offence are the Malays who he supposedly represents or wants to represent and they should make known their disdain for his statements in the ballot box.
NONEBy the way, it is brilliant counter programming on the part of Umno fielding a candidate like Zulkifli (right) against PAS' Khalid Samad in Shah Alam. It would not have made strategic sense to field another "moderate" candidate against Samad, the impeccable gentlemen politician and articulate spokesperson for his cause.

No, the better Hail Mary option would be to field a character that could stoke the racial and religious insecurities of the Malay demographic there and hope the so-called silent majority subscribes to what Umno is offering.

What does offend me are the comments of my "side", which I will elaborate in a post-election article when my position would change to that of a pro-establishment partisan, if my side emerges victorious. So the reality is that all these "ghost" from our past don't really scare us anymore, not because we have not learnt from them but because there are more than enough monsters in our present to give us pause. If we discount the bravado of those who would make light of these threats of violence and those who would propagate such threats, what we are left with, is the certainty that the only option we have is to vote our conscience and let the chips fall where they may.

Personally, I always take comfort in the motto of one of my favourite American generals, Joseph 'Vinegar Joe' Stilwell - Illegitimi non carborundum (Don't let the bastards grind you down).

An appeal to sensibility

To businessmen (and business women) who have benefited from contracts under BN government:

I know you look at your sons and daughters and think about their welfare and well-being - whether you will have the means to sustain your affluent lifestyle if Pakatan takes over the government and introduce open tenders? You're thinking whether you'll have to fight for a living all over again -things that you may not have done for a while.

My answer for you would be as follows:

Firstly, you have the capability. That you've established a relationship with someone in power is testament of your ability to establish new relationships with a new government. Pakatan will also need the business community to generate the economy - they also know that you've had your arms twisted when the only government you knew was BN. You may be a little rusty, but the skills and knowledge and experience should put you in good stead if you have been dealing with the real economy and not just a middleman.

Secondly, if you are a middleman, you should have seen this coming after 2008 - why didn't you diversify your business and hire competent people to do actual work that generates income?
It's not too late. YOu still have a head start to make a difference. Just remember - decades ago, the mafia, triads, and yakuzas reformed themselves to have legitimate businesses. If they can do it, so can you reform.

Thirdly, I don't know how big your business is, but if it is just an SME, how many generations can you feed? Your family will grow - how will you get increased business under the current BN government? I think that is increasingly impossible given there are also other leeches in the system out to make ridiculous amounts of money without putting in half the hard work. Besides, how can you be proud to your sons and daughters if you make money without working hard for it? What kind of legacy are you passing to him/her? What if she grows up thinking money is easy? The wealth that you generate in this generation will be wasted by the next.

Fourthly, your sons and daughters may not want to continue with your business. They are influenced by the global culture they live in, where people compete on equal footing, see the world, etc. Let them live a life that they can be proud of by being subject to open competition. If your family has thrived so far on artificial strength, it is time to let go of that and compete in the real world. Compared with many other less fortunate people, you have a head start. You should feel blessed already.

Fifth, in the end, you cannot protect all of your family. The only way you can protect all of them is to ensure that the sytem is fair and just to all, and that as long as they are willing to work hard, they have a place under the Malaysian sun.

Sixth, your vote matters. Your family's votes matters, because it could be just your votes that will matter if Pakatan gets to win Putrajaya.

Seventh, by lowering petrol prices, your cost of business will fall automatically. By eventually destroying monopolies, the price of essentials such as rice, sugar etc will also fall. Revamping the tax brackets will help your family and your children. Revamping the police force and the MACC will ensure that your husband, wife, children, relatives can one day walk the streets of KL and elsewhere in Malaysia feeling safe again. By revamping the judiciary, you can rest assure that even if you take a fight against Putrajaya, you may still win. Why go to the internet for alternative news when you can just turn to RTM for a balanced news? To your less fortunate relatives, revamping the education system means all your nephews and nieces will now have a chance to tertiary education of their choice borne out of open competition. Revamping the economy free from corruption means you longer pay bribes and can afford to bring back more income, and also pay your staff more. For, why should Malaysians work just as hard as Singaporeans (including you) but make many times less?

As you can see, much is at stake based on who you vote.

I'd like to advance another set of reasons for your consideration. Even if BN falls this time, they are not going to perish from the earth. Just like Kuomintang of Taiwan, it gave them an opportunity to rejuvenate, ridding themselves of deadwoods and the corrupted and entrenched business interests, to be ready for the next polls. So, even if you imagine you will suffer the next 5 years, it is just 5 years for Pakatan to prove itself once - and then if it is less than satisfactory, you can throw out Pakatan and bring back BN again. And at that time, many Malaysians may stand with you.

But if you vote back BN, then we are certainly headed for national bankruptcy, our race relations will remain strained, and we will not stop the brain drain (this should be pertinent if you don't want your son/daughter to leave Malaysia to pursue a greener pasture elsewhere) - because Najib has just made a slew of election bribes/promises to a tune of hundreds of millions if not billions ringgit - that can only be met by issuing more debt instruments, meaning we will be even far more indebted to outside forces. If the global economy slows down and our economy is affected, our debt profile will go from bad to terrible in no time.

There is absolutely no reason to fear that DAP will run (or ruin) the country - they are only contesting in 50 Parliamentary seats - you need at least 112 votes to pass a legislation. On the other hand, there is also no reason to fear that a vote for DAP equals a vote for PAs and ushering in of Islamic state. Reason being a simple majority in Parliament, while may be required to enact a legislation, will not be able to change our criminal justice system until and unless a Constitutional Amendment is made, which requires 2/3 majority. And there should also be no fear of PAS joining hands with UMNO because PAS has already labelled UMNO infidel, and a devil - there is no way PAS will join hands with the devil.

Lastly, if there is one more reason to vote for Pakatan, it is this. If BN is successfully reelected, it will be on the back of massive electoral fraud. Our election would have been stolen by foreign voters and repeat voters. If you think your vote matters this time, yes that could still be true. But the next time, now knowing it is a successful solution to their waning support, your friends in BN will continue to use foreign voters to win enough seats to continue running the country in perpetuity. One day, the value of your vote will be less than that of a foreign voter. can you really stand being disenfranchised in the only place you've called home for the last few decades?

Therefore, I appeal to you, your family, and your workers, and to all of your sensibilities - please join hands with me, with millions of right thinking Malaysians, as we turn out in overwhelming numbers, and vote for Pakatan. Just this once. If we can topple the elephant in the room, I think we can quite easily deal with a new government in 5 years from now.

[EDISI KANTOI] Facebooker UMNO Minta Maaf Kerana Memfitnah Dr Siti Mariah

Posted: 03 May 2013 04:59 AM PDT

Khalid Samad dakwa Rahman Kadir 'bohong'

Posted: 03 May 2013 02:26 AM PDT

Pertama, anda mempunyai keupayaan.

Keenam, undi anda and keluarga anda adalah begitu penting.

Islamic terrorists in Indonesia have a new target after militant godfather Abu Bakar Bashir threatened holy war against the Buddhists of Myanmar.

Just hours after the threat was reported on radical site Voice of al-Islam on Thursday, two men were arrested carrying pipe bombs on their way to the Myanmar embassy in central Jakarta.

The report quoted Mr Bashir, who motivated the Bali bombers in 2002, saying Myanmar was conducting genocide against Rohingya Muslims in the Arakan state in the country's west, and that jihad was the only solution.

"These events are all due to our own mistakes because we don't want to do jihad," Mr Bashir is quoted as saying. "The Muslims in the Philippines are strong because they want to do jihad."

The leader, who is serving a 15-year jail term on terror offenses, called upon Indonesia's "Mujahideen," (fighters of holy war) to destroy Myanmar as they had destroyed the communist USSR by throwing them out of Afghanistan.

"With the permission of Allah we will treat you and your people just like (we treated) communist Russia, which has gone to pieces, or just like America, which will perish soon (God willing)," he is quoted as saying.

"The Buddhist teaching of love is just a nonsense because in reality it is the Buddhists who have slaughtered the Muslims of Rohingya."

On Thursday night, Indonesia police arrested two men who were allegedly carrying five home-made bombs, as they made their way towards the Myanmar embassy.

Two others were arrested later after anti-terror police raided a property in South Jakarta and seized more explosives.

Police spokesman Boy Rafli Amar said those arrested were seeking revenge for the treatment of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.

At least 200 Muslims were killed and more than 125,000 chased from their homes in the Arakan state of Myanmar last year. Human Rights Watch accused Rakhine Buddhist groups of instigating the violence and the state authorities of failing to intervene.

On April 5, eight Buddhist fishermen were killed in a clash with Rohingya Muslims at a detention centre in Sumatra, Indonesia, after the Buddhists raped and harassed three Muslim women.

Myanmar to Face Human-Rights Test

Bandar Seri Begawan, BRUNEI—Myanmar's turn next year as chair of a Southeast Asian regional bloc will put a spotlight on the country's record on human rights and democracy, and should help accelerate reforms on those issues, Indonesia's foreign minister said Wednesday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa spoke to reporters on the sidelines of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit, following a state visit to Myanmar Wednesday.

Mob attacks against ethnic Muslims in western Myanmar have left tens of thousands homeless and more than 200 dead in the past year. On his visit this week, Mr. Natalegawa said he and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono urged Myanmar's leaders to address religious strife in the country and "bring the perpetrators to justice."

ReutersA Buddhist woman cried after her home was burned down during violent sectarian clashes in Myanmar's Meikhtila in March.

Human rights groups say Myanmar authorities haven't done enough to protect minorities and in some cases have been outright hostile to Muslim Rohingyas living in the majority Buddhist country. They also say that while Myanmar has released scores of political prisoners, many remain unjustly locked up.

Myanmar's government has formed a commission to investigate the causes of violence against the Rohingyas, which is expected to release findings soon.

Mr. Natalegawa said he was encouraged by Myanmar's response and expressed confidence in the leadership's resolve to quell the violence.

"From our own national experience, in the process of democratization there will be ups and downs—there will be progress and there will be setbacks," the Indonesian minister said. "Myanmar has been clear and consistent in saying they reject such intolerance and want to solve these problems."

The European Union gave Myanmar a vote of confidence Monday by permanently removing trade sanctions that until now had been only temporarily suspended. The next day, Myanmar released nearly 100 prisoners, including dozens of political detainees.

Acting U.S. Trade Representative Demetrios Marantis on Wednesday became the latest in a succession of U.S. officials to visit Myanmar, showing "the United States' support for development and desire to deepen economic engagement between our two countries," according to a statement from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Myanmar will claim Asean's rotating chairmanship next year, which means it will organize and host meetings of diplomats working to achieve the bloc's goals to create a single market and ensure stable politics in the region. It refused an earlier opportunity to serve as chair in 2005, before the watershed political and economic reforms that have thrust the former pariah state into the global spotlight.

The imminent chairmanship "underscores that Myanmar has regained its rightful place in the Asean family," Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Thailand's permanent secretary for foreign affairs, said in a separate interview.

More than that, the role will force Myanmar to maintain the pace of reforms, Indonesia's Mr. Natalegawa said.

"As chair of Asean in 2014, Myanmar will be taking us to that community that is democratic and respectful of human rights and good governance," Mr. Natalegawa said. "More than anyone, they need to be out there propagating Asean views on these issues."

Discussions of human rights lately have taken on more prominence within Asean, and the bloc adopted a human rights declaration in November. The U.N. said the declaration was weaker than international standards, however, and criticized Asean for not seeking more input from civil society groups.

Interview with a Muslim who attended 969 training

Last week, I talked to a Muslim man in a southern state of Myanmar who ended up at an event related to the 969 movement in early April.

He was standing at a betel shop with a few other Buddhists. One person told them to join him towards the monastery where a 969 sermon was talking place. As he does not look like a typical Muslim man, he was mistaken to be a Buddhist. He was not sure of himself why he joined the group.

When they got to a monastery, a monk was preaching anti-Muslim ideas.

When they got to a nearby field, the man told them to sit on the ground. He told the crowd that Burmese people need to wipe out Kalars who will soon attack Buddhists. He said if the Buddhists do not take action, Kalars will do, and therefore it is important to protect Bamar and Buddhists from Kalar terrorists.

He told the group that he is giving training to people over how to attack and fight. He is prepared to give 5,000 kyat a day for each training day, and for the days of actual attack.

One person in the crowd question about police arrest.

The man replied that the group members  would be issued cards which can be shown to the police to avoid arrest.

The man also mentioned that the family of the people would be taken care of if something happen to the group members (meaning if a group member dies).

The Muslim man got nervous. He hid his face by keeping his head down during the entire event. He was about to vomit and faint. After day one, he decided to quickly disappear from the scene. He did not go to the second day but instead left for other town for fear that they would find out.
